I've been coming here about 4 or 5 times now, and somehow it gets better every single visit. The entire team is amazing! The cooks always prepare my food perfectly, and as a vegetarian, I really appreciate the extra care they put into every order. The boss man at the front Mohammed is incredibly welcoming. He never rushes me, always helps me choose what to get, and gives me great recommendations. The food honestly feels like it's made with love--just like a home-cooked meal from my mom. Shawarma Man is a much-needed addition to the north side food scene. You might think to yourself, come on, another gyro spot? But let me tell you why this place stands out and has already earned (deservedly) higher ratings than similar businesses. Shawarma Man specializes in chicken shawarma roasted on a spit to perfection. This is not something you find at most gyro spots. The chicken shawarma is TOP quality; pristine, tender, and hits that elusive combo of perfectly juicy and crisp at the edges. The chicken is well-marinated in a spice mix that is curry powder-forward. We ordered sandwiches, which were filled with extremely fresh, snappy tomatoes and lettuce, a light flavorful sauce, and tasty pickles. We also enjoyed the other items we tasted. The substantial fries come dusted with an addictive spice blend. The falafel is moist inside and not too grainy. It comes with an herby tahini sauce that is better than most. Though I imagine they do a lot of takeout business, the inside of the restaurant is spotlessly clean and new-looking with some modern touches. It is also surprisingly spacious with something like 7 or 8 staggered 4-top tables. The staff is friendly which also contributes to an overall sense of comfort. Our former favorite chicken shawarma purveyor has really gone downhill, so we are delighted to find this new spot to get our regular fix. I really cannot imagine anyone choosing to eat at Shawarma Man's neighboring competitor (Chip--le) if they knew that, just across the street, they could get food that is 1000% fresher, healthier, and more delicious at Shawarma Man. I had high hopes for the Shawarma Man based on all the 5 star reviews. Unfortunately, it did not deliver as expected. I placed my order during lunch time on a Tuesday. A middle aged male employee took my order. He was about as friendly as a snapping turtle; no greeting, no smile, and no thank you. I ordered a lamb shawarma sandwich. The food was okay, nothing I would make a special trip for. A solid 3/5 for the food. There was no soap in the bathroom. I witness another younger male employee come out of the bathroom, put gloves on, and went to work in the kitchen. Maybe this is why the food health safety rating at this establishment is just "okay." read more

While Kenji Lopez-Alt is driving/cycling around Seattle and trying every teriyaki joint, I am doing something similar with shawarmas. As something that started as my favorite after clubbing late night snack, it's still something I enjoy eating on a regular basis. Shawarma Man recently opened up, and as it is located on my commute between my home and office, I definitely wanted to give it a try. And I would say, the results were fantastic! The chicken shawarma was one of the best versions in Seattle - very fresh, not heavy, good proportions so that it's easy to eat. On our way to an errand we noticed this place and decided to stop for lunch. Front entry had two steps down, which was hard for me (I am disabled)... owner (at least I think it was the owner) graciously opened a side gate and let me in a back door. He was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The food was AWESOME! I am not surprised that all the reviews of this place are 5 star! I got the chicken shwarma (it was between that and the lamb) and hubs got the Falafel platter. Platters come with rice, Mediterranean salad, creamy delish Hummus and puffy warm Pita bread sections. OMG.. SO SO SO GOOD! We finished off lunch with Baklava..and it did not disappoint. I wish this place all the success and luck. We do not live nearby, but with the food being so awesome, we will definitely come back (I need to try the lamb next time). So glad we stumbled into this gem of a restaurant. read more

This place is always packed. The staff are always busy balancing online orders and food for customers dining in. The Shawarma sandwhich is small but mighty and packed with flavor. It's pressed like a panini and I want more. There is an art form to preparing this sandwich and I carefully watch how it is being prepared. This is part of the fun as there is passion and care in this process. My food is always delivered to me and in a time where it's self serve and kiosks, this act of service goes a long way. I've tried almost everything on the menu and the garlic whip always takes my dishes to another level. I think the hot sauce is sambal and that adds a nice kick to the food. The grill is always sizzling and the smells of the fresh meat are crisped up before your eyes. In my clubbing days this would have been my go to. They overcharged me, addi g $1.50 to every item on a large order. When I inquired, the gentleman said "taxes." I pointed out that the charges were added separately at the bottom of the receipt. Then he said "sorry." I asked him why I was overcharged, and he had no answer. I asked him if they did this to all customers, or just me, and he said "just you." He refunded me the total overcharged amount ($12), but I I had to argue to get it. The food was average. Chicken was not crossed on the outside and dishes were room temp. What a great additional to Lake City! My 11 yo and I checked them out this evening for dinner and the food was delicious. I'm gluten free so got the shawarma platter without the pita. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the salad had delicious flavors (not just a standard iceberg lettuce salad) and the hummus was amazing. This is one of of those cursed locations that seems to have a new restaurant occupy and flame out every few months. It'd be a shame if that happens with Shawarma Man though because they've got solid food. Have tried both their gyro and chicken shawarma and both are tasty. The shawarma is more like a sandwich (as opposed to wrapped in pita). How does this place compare to Manoushe Express down the street? Jury's still out; might have to do a side by side comparison. We love Shwarma restaurants and we just drove by, noticed and stopped. We were not disappointed. It's very casual, unpretentious. It appeared to us that its owner and friends operated. They were very busy, yet earnest, friendly and helpful. Lots of activity with take out orders being picked up, which is a very good sign. We ate in. Love the creamy hummus with added Calamata olives, a delicious Zhug on top that added flavor to the hummus. The fried falafels were perfect, moist inside and not dry. Me and my husband were so excited to try this since it's so close to home only to be so disappointed with this food. I never knew you could make Greek food so BLAND. Not only that but the salad was brown and seem to only have olive oil on it no dressing (how can you fuck up a salad that bad, also you shouldn't be selling ROTTEN salad to customer. The falafels are fantastic and very nice service. I had the falafel salad. I bit heavy on the dressing but the falafels were amazing.

It's was our first time there and the employees were super kind! The chicken swarma was juicy as helll! Would definitely recommend :)
