The food was pretty good but I didn't get too much paneer in my dish sadly. We ordered two naans to be safe which was a good thing. They had our order ready pretty quickly for to go. They have a nice cozy atmosphere. Kind of like an Indian Olive Garden. I only wish they'd had patio seating.
Always love to come here when in the area. In the picture I ordered a garlic naan, dynamite shrimp, Mango chicken curry at level 3 star spice, and shish taouk. The servers always seat you quickly, they are very friendly and welcoming. The service is always top notch and not to mention the interior decoration is always so zen. Great food and great atmosphere:)
Beautiful atmosphere, excellent customer service and amazingly delicious food. We've had our eyes on this restaurant for a while and the 2 hour traffic was worth going through for these dishes. While the restaurant is a bit narrow for a manual wheelchair. That was ok! We were seated and the staff was very kind. The portions exceed our expectations. Most places nowadays have shrunk their main dishes. The naan was also big and amazing. It was a birthday occasion. We didn't expect cake but damn! Their chocolate lava cake was delicious. We're happy customers!
Exceptional catering! We ordered Indian food for a party of 20, and it was the highlight of the night. The butter chicken, palak paneer, chicken biryani, and naan were just as delicious as they are in-restaurant. They also generously included tons of rice, yogurt, and a free dessert pudding. The service was just as impressive as the food, e.g., meticulously packaged and loaded into my car by their friendly crew. The quality of the packaging/presentation matched the quality of the ambiance when you're dining in at the restaurant. Highly, highly recommend them for your next event!
Saffron Grill is one of my favorite Indian Restaurants in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle. They make the version of Mango Lassi that I like and you can't go wrong with the flavor and richness of their Butter Chicken. Order this with one of their Naan Breads and it is the perfect meal. If Butter Chicken is too American and basic for you, you should also try their Vindaloo or Madras Masala. Both of these dishes I found to be very delicious and flavorful. Another positive thing I like about Saffron Grill is how they also offer American, Vegetarian, and Mediterranean fare. Don't miss their Crisp Calamari and Samosas if you want to order appetizers. They accept reservations, have a large parking lot, and can accommodate large groups.
This is a great Indian Food Restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff are outstanding. They also serve Mediterranean Food, but I didn't try it during this visit. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We stopped in after noticing it was a new restaurant in our neighborhood, and after reviewing some Yelp input, we decided to try the butter chicken, masala veg, garlic naan and masala Chai ... it was very well-made had excellent flavor and very authentic tasting The Chai ! was omg ... I cook Indian food at home and I can say this was up there in quality. I'm not used to puréed gravy, but it still tasted fine on our next visit, We're gonna try the Karahi style gravy (more texture) and tandoori chicken from their oven ... and I'll update this review --- but so far, excellent
Visited here recently. The food was good, not outstanding. The homemade naan was the highlight for me. My grilled kabobs were alright. The place has a lot of seating and plenty of parking. I didn't have a beer, but I did overhear a guy talking to a waiter that they have a really good selection.
Super solid Indian food! I got the butter chicken with garlic naan and both just really slapped! No complaints! The naan was so huge I had so much to take home and enjoy the next day!
the first thing I appreciated here was the customization to start, the menu had many different curries - way more than what you would find at a typical indian restaurant there were 17 main indian curries, and that's not even counting the Tandoori or Vegetarian curries, or even the Mediterranean food The part that was really nice, however, was the customization Each of these 17 curries could have 3 vegetarian options - Vegetables, Tofu, or Paneer, and also another 4-5 different meat options as well I've never really seen this at an Indian restaurant - usually the main 'base' of the curry is already given and you just have to pick the type of curry based on what's provided Since our entire group was vegetarian, it was incredibly nice to have the option to pick any of these curries - so we weren't limited by a bunch of curries that already came with meat. In addition, different people in our group could add different 'bases' based on what they preferred - for example I asked for Paneer with my Rogan Josh, while others in my group asked for vegetables with their curry/biryani As far as the food itself, I thought this was also fantastic Starting with the Rogan Josh with Paneer, it's rare that the gravy is as flavorful as I saw here Normally, the Paneer will be the main focus of the curry - and here I found the paneer to be very good; it was firm and quite satisfying to bite into as it didn't get soggy from the curry like you might see in other places. It had a fullness to it However, I found the flavors of the remaining gravy to also be incredible. There was a rich, deepness to its flavor not found in other Indian restaurants where the gravy is more liquidy and just there to support the Paneer When it came to the Jalfrezi, I really liked the vegetables in here. While I didn't find the gravy to be as flavorful as the Rogan Josh, the vegetables in this were cooked really well and satisfying to eat. I did prefer the Rogan Josh over this, though It's interesting that this and the other curry were both ordered at a 'Hot' spice level - but I found this to be spicier than the other one The naan was also excellent. Several members of our group commented on how soft it was - and having my share of Indian restaurants where the naan is super hard - I found this softness to be excellent. This may have been the best texture of any naan I've had at a restaurant. The softness made it super easy to break apart and envelop the curry with I also quite liked that the curries weren't overflowing with oil - there certainly was some - but it was a reasonable amount The one downside is this place is somewhat expensive. For a curry + naan it'll end up being at least 30 dollars, and one serving of naan might not be enough. I've seen places which give you a lot more curry for a lower price, but I will say this definitely made up for it in quality Also, I thought the naan could've had more garlic on it - it didn't quite really have much flavor We also got a free gulab jamun (x4) at the end of our meal - which was surprising but excellent
I had the most incredible meal last night. My friend and I were staying at the hotel next-door and needed something to eat quick before we left for a concert downtown. We hit up the saffron bar and Grill and it did not disappoint. The service was efficient and warm. We ordered the vegetable delight sampler, butter chicken, madras chile masala with Aloo. All our food was fantastic and full of flavor. Also, the drinks we ordered were delicious. We struck up a conversation with our server, Ravindra, before we left and he offered us a free dessert because it was our first time eating there. He was so welcoming and kind for that. We left fat and happy and order an Uber to get to our concert--best part about that was, we hopped in the car and we're raving about the wonderful meal we just had and our Uber driver said oh yes I know the owner, Muhammad, he also serves food to the homeless. Like I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. Highly recommend!
I just ordered food online because it said you are open today, Christmas Day, and you all received my order AND confirmed it and told me pick-up would be 30-45 min. and that it would be ready by 5:45pm. My family went to pick-up and your restaurant is closed. Why would I be allowed to order, have the order confirmed AND paid for but you are closed?? That's over a $230 charge that I hope you are going to reverse?! Btw, when my son went to pick up, your OPEN sign was on and many people in lot there to pickup or eat there Cannot reach anyone on the phone today so I will check again tomorrow. So disappointed. Not even worth a star. Now we are off to IHOP.
Great food and atmosphere. We were seated at the bar and still were able to have an intimate date. The environment was moderately noisy since it was packed, but you could still have a normal conversation without having to raise your voice much. As soon as you walk in, you smell the curry in the air and feel the warmth the restaurant brings. The food was savory and fresh. The staff were very friendly and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed regularly. The parking is a bit tight due to their proximity to the hotel behind them, but it is not impossible. You can only enter on the Northgate Way street going West bound, so plan accordingly. Overall, great for small or large groups and individuals who want a good solo meal. Portions are just right. They do offer takeout orders as well and are fast in preparing them. We came back the following week for a pickup order and it was ready in 25 minutes.
Usually stay away from Indian food but this place had such a vast selection I knew I would find something to my liking Menu is very clear on gluten free items, btw a large selection of desserts I could eat Full bar, lots of choices in all parts of the menu Excellent fresh food. Saffron Grill was right across the street from the hotel we stayed at, so we decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a great decision. Ambience: (4/5) The atmosphere was pleasant and made for a nice dining experience. Food: (5/5) We ordered the Tandoori Chicken, lamb curry, and garlic naan. The chicken was flavorful and tender, and we really enjoyed the vegetables that came alongside the dishes. The lamb curry was perfect when dipped with the naan. Speaking of the naan, it was huge, big enough to be shared by four people! Pricing & Value: (4/5) The price was not low, but it was not unreasonable either. We felt it was fair for the amount and quality of food we received. Service: (5/5) Our server was very friendly and made the meal even more enjoyable. read more

We had an amazing experience at Saffron! We got in late, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and got our order in quickly. The food came out fast and was absolutely delicious--top-notch service all around. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with paneer garlic naan, and it was incredible. The flavors were rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced. We also shared the Greek salad, which was huge, fresh, and so tasty. The price point is very fair for the quality and portion size--you could easily split one of the chicken dishes between two people. The interior decor is also stunning--warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. If you're debating whether to dine in or order to-go, this is your sign: go for it. You won't be disappointed! read more
Hadn't been here so long not sure I even had a yelp account back then. Went with friends this past Friday. Needed to catch up they take reservations but it's a good thing we didn't make them cause my friend driving had to push back our time to meet. Probably go there about 7:30 and they seated us fairly quickly in the bar. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We shared a few dishes family style. We each selected a dish and added the plain naan. The Gyro Platter, Royal Biryani with chicken and Mango Curry with chicken. My go to is Biryani at an Indian restaurant or dal soup. But my friend had alre selected the Birayani. Mango curry was a little sweet for me I should of guessed that and ordered something else but that's a personal preference. Loved the biryani first time having it with nuts in the dish adds a great texture. Can't go wrong with the Gyro platter. Generous servings and we each went home with leftovers of the dish we selected. Always forget how large the space is it was great to see the doing good business on a Friday night. Decor is warm and welcoming. Hopefully it's not such a long wait on my return. read more

Great service. Appetizer came out faster than expected. Very happy with it! Entrees were delicious (forgot to take a pic - dove right in). Butter chicken and an order of garlic naan. Leftovers will be just as good! read more
2.5 if I could but I rounded up. I'm a little confused about the high ratings of this restaurant, but I wonder if it just appeals to the masses more. I'm always suspicious and doubtful of restaurants with an expansive menu and especially one that crosses over multiple cultures. For example, this one has Indian, Middle Eastern and American cuisine on their menu. It is odd to me when you can get prime rib at a place that also serves Aloo Gobi. Food: we got the Aloo Gobi and the lamb korma, and neither was really good. The portions were OK but honestly a little small for the price. The lamb was tough and I just found it to be kind of bland. We did also get the garlic naan and that I found to be really yummy and really large. Service and ambience: the service was fast and friendly. This place was obviously very popular and very hopping on a weekend night. So I guess my opinion is pretty unpopular, but it is what it is. I feel like there are much better Indian restaurants that are nearby so I would not recommend this place. read more

Very solid meal, not too sweet or greasy, as I often find to be the case with Indian restaurants in the seattle metro area! I ordered the paneer tikka and chicken pakora for my meal. They were delicious, just what I was craving. Not the best I've ever had of either, but definitely very good, and with a good portion size. I was starving hungry, and could only finish about half of each. My dining companion had the chicken bhindi masala, it was it quite good as well. Nicely seasoned, great texture, not sweet. I would go here again, if in the area! read more

Came here for dinner and everything was fantastic! From the service to the unlimited chai, and delicious food! Parking - good size lot, easy to find We made reservations in advance but they had tables open so I think walking in for dinner on a weekday would have been fine. Ambiance is great for any occasion! We loved it for our dinner date before heading to the movies! Service - wonderful! They always made sure my chai cup was filled and they were all very attentive and friendly which made the experience here really great. Food + mango lassi - delicious! + chai tea - unlimited refills - I will come back just for this! + butter lamb - this sauce was so good! + saag paneer - loved it! + garlic naan - biggest I've ever seen! + kheer rice pudding was a great way to end the meal! My husband and I loved the ambiance and food. We will definitely be back again! read more

We came to Saffron at 4:30 on Saturday as a party of 2. This was my first time sitting in Saffron's bar, which is comfortable, spacious and gorgeous to look at. I ordered their Tequila Junglebird, which was tropical and nice. We split their Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan between ourselves, and left with very happy tastebuds and bellies. I am a longtime lover of Saffron and their food. I liked the bar staff and would love to come back! read more
Came here for a friend's birthday, and it was hopping!! We had a BIG group. The service was amazing. We started off with Garlic Naan and Chai. The chai was next level amazing. So many layers of flavor. Y'all have to eat here because it's LEGIT!!! I ordered Chicken Rogan Josh, and it was lucius and very very filling. The rice was so perfect that I felt like I could just eat that and be happy. But, the Rogun Josh was top-notch. read more
TLDR: We loved all the food we ordered, but felt rushed out of the restaurant despite it not being that busy. The lamb biryani was well spiced and fresh, the garlic naan also soft and enough for 3 people, and the saag paneer was yummy and not too oily at all. Out of the options on the tandoori delight appetizer, we liked the fish and chicken the best. They also gave us free samosas as a starter! Would definitely come back for the food but would have liked to linger a bit longer with our friends. read more
Came on a recommendation from a friend for really good Indian food. The exterior gives Applebees vibes and the interior gives Italian restaurant vibes but don't let it stop you. There's an extensive Indian menu and if you're not wanting that, they have some American and Mediterranean food. Tandoori chicken: four big chunks of chicken are given and it has a lot of flavor! It's just a little dry but not like that. The chutney that comes with it is delicious and pairs well with the chicken. Overall a big portion of food. Rose syrup with sprite: I didn't really pick up any rose syrup and it was just sprite to me. I'll probably pass on this next time. Garlic naan: giant portion of naan that's fluffy, slightly salty, and has fresh garlic on it. A must get! Tikka masala: on point and paired very well with naan or rice. Services as pretty good as well and overall will be back when I'm craving some Indian food. read more

I've eaten Indian food before and Saffron Grill did NOT disappoint. I had the Saffron Tandoori Surprise. It was fabulous. Every item in the plate was truly scrumptious! There was plenty of food left for dinner tonight. read more
