This place serves primarily British pub food, but sort of Americanized versions of it. I shared the fish & chips, which came with two pieces of fried fish, along with some fries. The fish itself was alright. It wasn't quite crackly and crunchy throughout - as the breading was definitely on the lighter side. There was some crunch on the sides, but not much throughout most of the center. What was good was how moist the inside was; the meat was definitely cooked to the perfect temperature. The seasoning on the fish also left a good bit to be desired The fries were also fine. Definitely the McDonald's style of soft but fluffy-on-the-inside type of fries. Serviceable enough I did enjoy the tartar sauce, though. This had a good consistency with solid amounts of both dill and citrus. We shared this, and it ended up being around 17 per person. Probably in the mid-range for how much food you end up with. Overall, it's a decent spot to watch a game, but would look in other places if looking mostly for food. 7/10 read more

I likely didn't experience this place the right way. Being more food oriented, my rating is based on the food and the service. I think this place is great for watching sporting events and drinking beer which isn't my thing. The food overall was ok. The portion of fish and chips was generous, sadly over fried which made it dry on the inside. Also had their one size soup. Disappointing that an $11 soup (one size as they say on the menu) is about a cup of soup. The soup itself was quite good. Service was ok. The person came by regularly but needed to be reminded about things we had asked for. Though the place was busy, this person seemed more forgetful than frantic. Felt really sorry as one lady seemed to have the floor on mother's day, and some big soccer games day. Also seemed odd as they had more staff on earlier, but they were kinda just hanging out. Not remotely a "sports bar"! Not, as a reviewer suggested, a spot to catch a "ball game," unless it's the ball game the manager picks. If the Sounders are playing it could be called a "Sounders bar," regardless of any other pro sports on national TV. Per the manger's decision, six of eight screens, including two that NO ONE was watching, were on the Sounders game. One table had four people with Sounders gear on. Not much of a vibe if you're a Sounders fan. God forbid you might want to watch the Mariners or the NBA playoffs without having to crank your neck halfway back down your c-spine. Manager moved NBA game FOUR TIMES, and on the fourth move, huffed when asked by a customer if he planned more moves. Not at all hospitable. Very disappointed. I was really excited to try the chickpeas I read about in other reviews but they don't seem to be on the menu anymore. I came for HH so I tried the deviled eggs, which were ok but not my favorite (maybe a little too rich with the filling?). The crab artichoke dip was pretty decent and you got a good amount of dip and crostini for cost. My favorite thing was the Dillie Eilish cocktail - that was delicious. The server was very kind and attentive and everything came out pretty quickly too. For ambiance, it's a sports bar/dive bar with multiple TVs showing various sports. My friend and I stopped in for the all day Monday happy hour. There was a good amount of people in the bar around 5 pm. Service was quick, lots of TVs playing sports games. It took a little while on the bread pudding so I ordered another Spanish coffee, now she's driving. The banana bread pudding was exceptionally good in every way! Finally checked this place out which opened within the last year. Great location just a couple blocks from the lake. The vibe is casual and sporty and the service was attentive and friendly. I got the fish and chips, which were delicious, and a sparkling rosé that, unfortunately, was flat. It still tasted fine, so I didn't say anything, but it felt more like a regular rosé. Came on a Monday night. No more than 6 people were in there. There was a dude there being creepy and belligerent. The last bartender was dope and handled it perfectly. She was super apologetic to the other patrons who were made uncomfortable from him and their convo. Wished I had her name. She deserves a raise. Only had drinks here. No food. I got a couple of tastes before deciding on a beer. As I sipped my beer I got to watch several sporting events to watch since there's a ton of TVs available. Seating is plentiful and looked like it was all wiped down and clean. Bathrooms were the same. Mid level lighting. Felt and smelt like a sports bar for sure. I could see myself coming here for a mariners game during the week, not so much during the weekends. It was a solid spot. A solid 3 stars. Nothing stood out tho. You basically get what you see. This experience may be influenced by the loss of the Roosevelt homey, casual, darker space. I am sure the beer list will expand and the fries will be delivered hot sooner than later. The staff continues to be friendly, efficient and charming. The space and vibe is such a change. The chairs and tables seem ungainly and awkward for both the servers and guests. After our soccer game, some members of my adult soccer team came here for food and drinks. This was my first time here and I figured it would be a good place to go being a soccer pub. One of our team members didn't have her ID but had pictures of both her ID and passport on our phone. But the bartender/server (guy with backwards blue and white cap) didn't accept it. Not only she couldn't be served but she wasn't allowed to be in the bar at all. Most bars I've been to seem to accept phone copies and show leniency in this regard. After we ordered our drinks he served all the other tables but he never came back to take our food order and we eventually had to flag him down. He didn't charge me for my beer which I did appreciate. Otherwise a nice sports bar with a good vibe, so I hope to come back eventually and try it again. read more

I was excited to try this new Greenlake restaurant as it was mentioned in the Times as a place to check out-My friend and I had a beer and dinner. It was not busy so we got great service from our very attentive waitress 4 stars rather than 5 as my meal (bacon chicken avocado salad)-was not good. The chicken was supposedly "grilled"-it was thick and rubbery-(my guess was it was taken out of the freezer and zapped in a microwave)-pretty gross. I did eat just some of it and told the waitress when she cleared the plates-and she took off the beer cost from the tab. I could have argued to take the meal off but appreciated the effort to fix it somewhat. read more

I had been a regular patron of the old Roosevelt location for more than 10 years, but I won't spend much time comparing the new Greenlake location, as they are really two different beasts. For me, there really is no comparison, as the new location is vastly superior. Now that it has been open for about 3 months, a few kinks have been ironed out and the new AC is settling in to a new identity in a new 'hood. The kitchen is really the biggest change. This is now a restaurant with a full bar, not a dive bar where the food was more of an afterthought. New items keep being added to the menu, including a limited kid's menu now that it is all ages (until 8 PM). They have dropped a few menu items as the chef figures out what works, but have added others, including a new happy hour menu weekdays afternoons and weekend late nights. The staff, both new and old, are friendly and attentive. The number of beers on tab recently doubled, and they have added a specialty cocktail list as well. I usually go there in the afternoon and on nice days, the large windows along the street side are open, giving both fresh air and abundant light. The tables by the windows feel like a sidewalk cafe, but without the wind and excess traffic noise of actually dining on the sidewalk. I'm not a fan of huge crowds, so I tend to skip going during soccer games, which the AC is especially known for. But if you want to catch Arsenal or Sounders games, etc. the joint will be hopping, so get there early! read more
