We went for dinner at Yard House after getting some drinks from a nearby rooftop bar. There is a Yard House in Long Beach close to where I live, but it's also in a part of town I don't usually go to. And after my visit to this Yard House in Downtown Seattle, I don't think I have much more incentive, if any, to visit the location in Long Beach. This Yard House in Downtown Seattle is located on 4th Ave between Pike and Pine. They have a menu posted by the front door so you can see what they have before entering. After checking in with the hostess at the front desk, we were taken to the table in the very far corner, literally right next to the restrooms. We came on a Wednesday after 7 PM, and it was pretty busy with many a TV scattered about the dining room showing a multitude of sporting events. Josh was our server, and he was more of a tough guy trying to be friendly rather than a friendly guy. I immediately discerned that as he was passing out coasters as if he was dealing cards at a poker table. And in a semi-aggressive manner no less. Each of us in our group decided to order an entree for ourselves as well as an appetizer to share with the group. We had actually eaten some appetizers elsewhere just 3-4 hours prior, so I wasn't too hungry, but they have an "Under 700" section on their menu, which shows all their menu offerings that are under 700 calories. I hadn't had salmon on this most recent trip to Puget Sound, and their Mediterranean Salmon came in at 630 calories, so I went with that. Their other seafood on the "Under 700" is the Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna, which is $1 less than the salmon, but I prefer salmon over tuna. They have three appetizers on the "Under 700" menu, but two of them have seafood. Since I already chose a seafood for my main entree, I went with the non-seafood appetizer: edamame. For that one, Josh asked for the spiciness level, which I initially almost thought was for the salmon since Josh didn't specify if the spiciness level was for the salmon or the edamame. A few more words could have helped clarify, but I guessed right. The appetizers started coming in about 10 minutes after we ordered with the sweet potato fries coming in first. Then the calamari, fries, edamame, chicken nachos, and chicken-less nachos for the vegetarian at our table. We didn't have any small plates for these appetizers, but Josh was one step ahead of us, so kudos to him for thinking ahead here! The salmon came about 20-25 minutes after I ordered, and while it was good, it wasn't *that* good. For one, the top of the salmon tasted kind of burnt, which really took away from the taste profile as a whole. Also, the green sauce that supplemented the salmon didn't add much flavor that, surely, spicy tahini sauce should have done more than that! And that was after I squeezed the entirety of the lemon wedge over the dish for maximum flavor. Other than that, the cauliflower rice mixed with the red quinoa tabbouleh rounded out the $30 fish dish. The vegetarian in our group was willing to share his three cheese pizza since it was bigger than he expected. I was willing to take a slice, and the pizza actually impressed me to say the least. For a cheese pizza, I can safely say that if Kevin McCallister had tried this in Home Alone, he would have liked it better than Little Nero's Pizza. The appetizers themselves weren't too bad, but I felt that some missed the mark. Like the hot and spicy edamame I ordered; it was not consistent in flavoring across the entirety of the bowl. As an example, one piece could be real hot and spicy, but another piece would only be mild at best. Fries could have been crispier, and same with the calamari. But the nachos were pretty good with an abundance of goodness topping the chips. At the end of our visit, we were ready to leave, though we hadn't paid yet. Josh processed our payments at the tablet on our table even though I thought he would have brought out separate checks for each of us. He did bring out receipts for each of us, but having each of us pay one at a time with him proved mildly inefficient. Also, if you sit at a table similar to the one I was at, watch your step! I almost slipped/tripped when I needed to use the restroom, which had a trash bin full of used paper towels! And speaking of restroom, there were a couple of customers that were waiting outside because they thought the restrooms were for single persons only as opposed to a community restroom. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but with homecoming going on and the Mariners game playing on the TVs, it was completely understandable. Once we were seated, we were greeted by Nile, who was friendly, funny, and really knew the menu well enough to help answer any questions we had. We shared a few laughs with her throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was cozy and surprisingly romantic, especially considering how many TVs were around. We were seated in a great spot, quiet enough to talk comfortably but close enough for me to catch glimpses of the game. We started with the firecracker shrimp, which came with a rice cake on the bottom, something I'd never tried before but really enjoyed. My wife went with the Shiitake garlic noodles, and I ordered the Nashville hot chicken. Both were delicious, though I would've liked mine a little spicier. It would have been nice if they offered different heat levels. Overall, we had a great time. The food was solid, the vibe was perfect, and Nile's great service really stood out. Stopped by Yardhouse on 4th Ave in Seattle for my birthday, and it was such a great pick. We tried a couple local beers, which were really good. For food, my partner had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with house fries, and I went for the Nashville hot chicken and sweet potato pancakes - they both were absolutely delicious. The pancakes had a hint of cinnamon, the Nashville hot chicken was juicy, and the honey hot sauce with pickles and ranch was great. The best part was when our bar server noticed it was my birthday when she checked for our IDs and surprised me with an Oreo brookie with vanilla icecream at the end of our meal. It came with a candle and happy birthday written on the plate. That definitely was a sweet touch and really made my day. This was my third time at Yardhouse, and it's consistently been a fun spot with great food and drinks. We didn't have a reservation and were able to sit at the bar quickly, which was super convenient. If you're celebrating something or just want a casual spot with friends or family, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. read more

Came here on an annual weekend trip for week 3 of the Seahawks game. Love how Seattle has so many great places to eat and drink. Both franchised, local mom and pop shops etc. my group stayed at a hotel nearby, and yelped some spots for lunch, not realizing that as many times as I've stayed downtown; never noticed the Yard House on 4th street. Great location and close to our hotel as well as Pike's place market. Upon entrance we were greeted and seated right away. Huge round signature bar like all the other Yard Houses I've been to. Great vibes and prompt service. We did a couple rounds of beers with our food. Everyone ordered something different and all of us were satisfied with the quality. I find this location to be lively and welcoming. It has a nice vibe with friendly staff. To start off with apps, we ordered the Poke Nachos, didn't know that was a thing, I have to say that they were amazing. Comes with marinated raw ahi, crispy wontons, avocado, serranos, white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, sriracha aïoli, cilantro, green onions, nori, and sesame seeds. The small plates brought to the table had what appeared to be pieces of avocado on them, I asked the gentleman who brought out the food if he could replace them. He chose to try sort through them it find a clean one. All three had stuff on them. I had to inform him that they are all dirty and to please replace them. I ordered the Cobb Salad, our server asked if I'd like a protein, of my two options of chicken, I chose the Blackened chicken. I recommend that you don't, the piece I was served was of ample size, yay. The down side was that it was inedible, one bit of and I knew I couldn't eat it. It tasted burnt, was dry and clearly was prepared in advance. I informed Jesse how bad it was and he made all the efforts to rectify the issue, he removed it from the bill. The rest of the meal and service was fine, I found that the section we were seated to be very dark, loud and slightly cramped. The folks leaving their booth were right upon me, I was bumped, grazed as they were passing to exit. If the place was packed I could understand. Overall, I had a good time at Yard House, its location is prime for a sit down meal or drink. Perfect for folks doing the tourist attractions. The main issue was that it was extremely cold inside, to the point where my party and I were uncomfortable the entire time. I'm not sure if the heater was broken, but it was cold enough that we ended up leaving early. I really wanted to enjoy the food more, but the temperature made it hard to stay and finish. If they address the temperature issue, the experience would be much better, I'm sure because the food and environment are otherwise pretty good. read more

First time visit. Heading to an event at Paramount Theater. Waiter was fun and engaging and gave us some excellent recommendations for appetizers. I highly recommend the Chicken Nachos! I had. House Hazy IPA which was excellent. Another table member had a Peach Cider which was sweet, bubbly and very good. I love the bar with at least 30+taps(?) so plenty of choices to go around. Oooooooh my goodness, no heat in December. We were a group of 4, went to watch a 10am Seahawks game as a recommendation from a local business. What a mistake, it was freezing. The server was really nice and we have no complaints with her. The hostesses and server explained that there wasn't any heat. We ordered 3 lattes (they only offer plain) the first was fine, the other 2 were cold, unsure how that happened, they corrected it. We ordered 1 tea (the server apologized, they were out of tea) so she had plain hot water. We ordered the turkey club and truffle fries, blts, and California roll stack. We could not finish the entrees because they got ice cube cold super fast. We looked around everyone had on hats, gloves, and coats. The company was great, the ambiance was NOT. Came here with a friend for cocktails and nachos. They have a good bar menu with plenty of drinks to choose from. I love the nachos because they are pretty big with a good variation of toppings. You could easily feed 2-4 people without the need for other food. The service however, is lacking. Pretty slow and inattentive. After finishing our food and drinks we paid on the kiosk at the table and left. Ambiance is kind of like a big sports bar. Dark, lots of TV's. Good place to watch sports. My party all got different things and shared and every shared bite of food brought closed eyes and a little happy dance. The food here was GREAT. Our server was so on top of it and very friendly. The rest of the servers as well. My only complaint: I don't know if this is a trendy city thing but when I first walked in it was so dark in the regular dining area I was squinting to see. Keep in mind it's a littler after 12pm, lunchtime. They had to have little spot lights over each table and we were close to the edge of that area we didn't have one shining directly on us so I had to use my phone's flashlight at least once to unbuckle my nephew from his stroller. I had the Give em Helles which was as refreshing as described. Hubby had a Patron margarita which was nice and strong. We ordered the spinach dip and the sliders, but unfortunately the server didn't hear us order the spinach dip so it never arrived. The sliders were good but nothing special. It came with four burgers and a side of fries so it was filling enough for us. The ground beef wasn't the best quality, but it was seasoned well. We were there for happy hour but we still ended up paying $45 plus tip for two people, which didn't seem like a deal to me. We came with six people, enjoyed the food and the experience, and that's exactly why I decided to bring a larger group here tonight. Big mistake. The food itself was still good, but the service completely ruined the night. Our server, Josh, was dismissive and unprofessional from the moment we sat down. He literally threw coasters onto the table where we were sitting. At first, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe different service style, maybe we're in Seattle and we're from New York, but it only went downhill from there. The attitude, the lack of care, and the overall treatment made our entire group feel unwelcome. The final straw was when I ordered a cappuccino and it was brought out in a paper cup. When I asked why, I was told they "couldn't find any glasses." I declined the drink to avoid further issues, and instead of handling it professionally, I was met with a snide comment: "This isn't Starbucks." That was unnecessary and disrespectful. We still tipped appropriately because that's who we are but spending close to $1,000 at a restaurant where a large group is treated like an inconvenience is unacceptable. It's sad to say but I wish we didn't tip appropriately because I'm still upset and embarrassed that my coworkers and myself had to go through that. . I've never written a negative restaurant review before, even when service wasn't great, but this experience crossed the line. Management should seriously reconsider who they have representing their restaurant. One server can absolutely destroy what would otherwise be a good dining experience. read more

We came to watch a game and the atmosphere was definitely lively. It's an upscale sports bar and would be a nice place to hang out with friends. However, the service we received was supbar and frankly bordering rude. The food was mediocre and doesn't justify the price point. The reviews gave me the expectation that the Hot Chicken Sandwich would be something amazing, and I was left wanting more spice and just overall flavor. The chicken had a nice crisp, though. Yard House's atmosphere is wonderful. My primary reason for visiting this establishment is the extensive vegan and vegetarian options on the Gardein menu. The food is delicious and available for substitution for many of the top entrees on the menu. The bartenders and other staff members are so friendly and along with the patrons, create an environment that debunked the Seattle freeze that has often plagued the city. Lastly, the unique in-game experience Yard House provides is unparalleled and rivaled by a select few. read more

The Yard House was amazing. We went with friends for St. Patrick's Day and had a lovely time! I highly recommend going here! The vibe was very laid back and casual, and I loved the tunes that they were playing. The customer service and wait staff were also great. The restaurant was also very clean and tidy, and the restrooms were clean as well. It is a very big space with a lot of room. I had the Gardein Nashville Hot Chicken Burger with fries and it was amazing. I also had "green" blood orange St. Patrick's Day cider. It was absolutely delicious. It had a very fresh taste. The Burger was fresh and warm and had a great taste, and was very delicious vegetarian food. The fries were also fresh! Poke nachos: 10/10 Plenty of fresh tuna and avocado to pair with the fried wontons! Great flavor and my favorite appetizer we ordered. Boneless chicken wings: 9/10 Ordered boneless chicken wings, half lemon pepper and half Korean chili. Lemon pepper flavor is the way to go! The chicken itself somehow remained so juicy despite being fried. Definitely needs to be ordered during happy hour for a steal though, since you only get 10 wings per plate. Carnivore pizza: 7/10 Nothing really spectacular about this pizza, but nothing really wrong with it either. It'll get the job done if you're craving pizza. Chicken lettuce wraps: 5/10 Ratio of chicken to lettuce was unbalanced (way too little lettuce) and the chicken was too salty. Really solid food overall! Will happily, but also most likely only, come back during happy hour for these appetizers because the prices are harder to justify with their portion sizes. read more
