Best burger I've ever had... even including those from my previous non-vegan life. I always get the Western Burger with Impossible patty, bacon add-on, and Yo-Egg add-on. I also steal a nacho or five when my wife isn't looking. Bayside is a perfect example of "not all vegan food is salad" (they do have salad tho). The decor is this awesome, eclectic, repurposed Chinese restaurant motif with flair. There's a separate bar area. It's not a sports bar, more like your friendly neighborhood dive, but cleaner. It's normally easy to get seated quickly and servers are attentive, even though they can be a little stretched thin during busier times. Overall, it's a blessing and a curse that I don't live closer. A blessing because I'd spend all my money here and weigh double. A curse because I think I might be okay with that. read more

Cool, hip place with interesting art. Has a comfy diner feel. Friendly service. I was on a road trip with friends. I was happy one of my friends was a vegetarian and chose this cafe to dine at. I had been craving biscuits and gravy for a couple weeks. The last vegan cafe I had biscuits and gravy at, did not satisfy the craving. So I'm happy that Bayside Cafe totally fulfilled my craving! All vegan restaurant....all American style of food. Many deep fried options. Our server worked really hard and was very friendly. We had a large group for a gathering with my coworkers. Sadly I didn't take any photos of the food. We tried A LOT of dishes on their menu. Nachitos: 5/5 very good! I enjoyed this. Soft pretzels and mustard: 5/5. Buffalo wingz: 2/5 NOT for me! Hated the texture. Tofu Soba: 3/5. HUGE portion. It was ok, sauce is interesting, acidic yet sweet. It doesn't taste great the next day. Lots of Tofu pieces. Fried pickles: 2/5 so greasy and salty. Not for me! Lemon coconut mocktail: 5/5. I had 2 of these, so good and refreshing. Pineapple crush: 2/5 disappointing. Needs to have more bubbles. Dessert was disappointing. A vegan dive bar (is that a thing?) crossed with a vegan diner (even rarer of a thing?) in a converted Chinese restaurant (ok seriously?) If you're into the oddities of juxtapositions, this is definitely the place for you. You walk in and are immediately confused. No hostess, no clear signage... just a doorbell on a counter telling you to press it to let them know you're there. If you came in prepared for this non-standard operation... it certainly adds to the super quirky vibe. If not, I can imagine you might be a bit frustrated. Food is definitely greasy-spoon-dive-bar worthy. Extra points for tater tots and curly fries. Wish there were some more "fresh" options, but if you're a meat eater craving bar food, you might not be sad about the cheesy greasy burgers. Frankly I'm too straight laced for this... but I got my obligatory bacun (sic) burger and saw myself out after leaving a hefty tip. I love the wonderful waitress and the owner's creativity for filling out a niche that I'm not sure anyone recognized as a gap to be filled. A vegan dive in the former Knights of Columbus building in downtown Everett, surprise! Stopped by here after a show at the village theatre for some vegan fare. Unfortunately they just moved and are yet to get a liquor license transferred, so no alcohol yet...but it's coming. Food-wise, vegan burgers and vegan breakfast all day. I was trying to get the biscuits and gravy, but they were also out of gravy. Switched to an impossible burger with guac and vegan bacon strips. They have gluten free buns and such should you want an alternative to wheat. I must say, try the fried mushrooms. They are whole oyster mushrooms, and come with a vegan ranch. Somewhat of a hidden gem. This spot located off of Broadway in Everett is a great American style vegan restaurant! When you walk in, the vibes are bright and neon with lots of cool art to see. There was only one server when I went, but they made the experience all the worth it by sharing their favorites on the menu. I've been here once and it's an awesome option if you are plant based and want to feel like you can chow down on some fried food without being worried about it sharing a basket with oil that cooked meat. I am a meatatarian. I am not vegan; I am not vegetarian. I was dragged here for a double date and scoffed at their dairy-free cheese and wild ways of making plants taste like meat. "I'm going to hate this," I thought. No, I KNEW. So I begrudgingly got the Western burger as it had BBQ sauce and an onion ring on it and sounded like the least painful option. And it's one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. I can't believe I'm actually writing this. First impressions: Entering the business they have a door bell clicker you click to get service. Seating was quick. While there is new decor, the decor from the old owners, Thai restaurant, remains. Hopefully they can get that removed soon. The area is COLD. If you are someone who gets chilly or cold easily, BRING A COAT, sweater or just something to keep warm because it is FREEZING. Food came quickly. They offer stubborn brand soda which is the best! We got the soft pretzels with sweet mustard SOOOOO GOOD. The bread was perfect lil crunch and super soft on inside. My husband got a Bacun (yes spelled this way in menu not a spelling error ) burger and I got the classic burger. I was super worried about my carnivor husband and how he would like it, especially when the food showed up. The bacon looks like brown bacon dog strips. You know the commercial, "BACON BACON BACON WHERE? ITS BACON!" Lol. But he took a bite and LOVED IT. He actually was trying to figure out what this animal friendly bacun was so he could buy some lmao! It's been a minute since my initial review and I've been back so many times. This is now a different location, much bigger and better, with its own parking lot which I consider a huge plus. As previously mentioned I've been hanging out in Everett for a long time and I never would have imagined this run down Asian restaurant would become a future vegan mecca. Plus now it has a bar area, with pinball even. I would love to see more events/meet ups happening here as there seems to be plenty of space and the ideal spot for vegan socializing. I have now dined here with countless people and every time I go I try to remind myself that I should really go more often. Everything I've had I absolutely love and my non veg dining partners are usually fans too. I try to get something different every time, but I do have my favorites like the ranch dressing and the curly fries. It's fun that they often have weekend specials so even if you feel like you have had the whole menu there are still new things to try regularly. I most recently had a delicious mac and cheese, bacon burger which I begged to have added to the regular menu. I previously found the Yo Egg burger to be really interesting, but messy, ask for extra napkins. My biggest problem with coming here is that it is so hard to choose what to get, thankfully they are always willing to help me decide. The vibe and decor are amazing. Everyone working here is super nice. They are always happy to answer questions about the food. I worry about the future location if they lose this building, but for now it is the best thing ever and you should definitely check it out. In short If you're looking for a fun vegan bar with a big dining room, then round this up at least one star. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was entertaining. In long They took over an old Chinese restaurant on Broadway, with some (though not all) of the pagoda-shaped sign still intact. The interior is overwhelmingly still intact. Huge gold dragons on the walls, big plush pleather booths in crazy colors. The dining room is fairly well lit but the bar looks nice and dim. There are no windows in the place, so you can get a nice 2:00 AM vibe rolling almost anytime. There are stencils of Biggie and other random figures painted in different spots. My sister said it kinda reminded her of Meow Wolf with all the juxtapositions. There's a decent amount of parking, and the outside of the building is maybe a bit dingy and dated. Just kinda timeworn, though. Not off-putting or anything. You do notice walking in that there's still a cooking oil aroma in the air, and it, uh, still smells like 5-spice and hao jiao or whatnot. It hasn't been a Chinese place for quite a while, has it? Drinks are good. Creative, decently strong, reasonably priced. The food is almost all snacks and cravings and late-night munchy stuff. Burgers and apps and all that. I think there's one salad on the menu. This is decidedly not a health-food place. That's totally cool, but even reading the menu beforehand, I kept thinking I must be missing the list of salads and veggie-focused stuff. It's plant-based cooking here, but the plants are potatoes and wheat most of the time. Just know that going in. I will say that, long after the lunch rush, with 2 other tables in the whole place, everything took a while. 10 minutes for menus. More for water. More to order. More for drinks. They didn't come out together. At least 45 minutes before we got our food...which also didn't come out together. Salads were good, burger just okay. Overall, I love the crazy night-out vibe here, and the staff were super kind and pleasant. I could have done with a lot more green stuff on my plate, and more pace to the service, but it's obvious why people like this place. It totally fills a niche. read more

Bayside is a wonderful place to have some great vegan comfort food! My wife and I are from Seattle, but whenever we are in Everett, we definitely make a stop at Bayside! This spot is an Everett treasure for sure! The service is phenomenal. The staff are always so kind and pleasant to us. The restaurant has a great vibe. It is located in a former Asian restaurant and it definitely has that vibe in its decor, but also has a cool new funky vibe as well! It's definitely a casual ambiance as well. The food was phenomenal. I had the deep fried pickles, BBQ soy curls sandwich, and the confetti cupcake. My wife had the Ramen weekend special (not a regular dish). The food was absolutely delicious and had an amazing taste. We both enjoyed our food and the cupcake was good as well. A great vegan place to bring meat-eating friends because everyone WILL be happy. Nice sized menu with burgers, sandwiches, etc. so everyone has options. I wasn't very hungry when we were there so I only ate a few of the Buffalo wings but they were excellent (and actually spicy!), and the people I was with enjoyed their food (Bacun burger and another burger with jalapeños, I forget the name). Our server was really nice and knowledgeable, and told us about how the owner is planning to relocate the restaurant soon. Glad that we got to visit once while they're still in this location because the atmosphere is cool, inside an old Chinese restaurant, and they were setting up for a concert as we were sitting down to eat. Apparently it was a death metal band touring from Chicago, and the place started filling up with fans before too long. We didn't stay for the music (not our jam) but glad that they're acting as a venue for more niche audiences. Hope they can keep it up at the new location, we'll come back for sure! read more

The food and beverage here is always top notch. I'm not vegan but the food is always delicious and really creative. The weekly specials is something I really look forward to. I find this to be my number one comfort food joint when I can't bring myself to cook at home. The draft selection always has something light, and then usually an ipa and something dark. So I'm taken care of no mater what mood I'm in. Cocktails are pretty fire too. Music is great and there's a jukebox option thing. There's pinball in the bar area too and I love the fun decor. It's nice to go somewhere with some personality instead of every restaurant that's decorated like a rugged gastro pub or a grey minimalist prison cafe. read more

There is plenty of parking and they are conveniently located right on an intersection on Broadway. As soon as you walk in you experience bright colors, fun decor, and the very strong settled-in greasy smell of an old Chinese restaurant. We were greeted promptly and told to sit wherever we liked, they have plenty of tables, booths, and even have a separate bar area. Service was friendly, but very slow considering how few people were dining at 2p on a Wednesday (not once were we checked on after getting our food, and all of our dirty dishes remained on our table even after we ordered dessert.) The fried pickles were the best thing we ordered, tempura battered and perfectly cooked. The lavender drink I got only tasted like passion fruit, and the cheesecake was bland. The meat substitute on the breakfast sandwich tasted like the Impossible brand, and the hash brown comes on the sandwich with a side of fries. Neither the sandwich or burger were finished at the table, the curly fries were okay but definitely needed salt. When we got home about an hour after dining, both of our stomachs were upset (possibly due to the high fat content). I don't think we will be back, but if we ever do we plan on trying the Nachitos from the appetizer menu. read more

I tried this vegan restaurant in Everett for the first time last week. I heard about it on a news article saying it's one of the best vegan restaurants in the area. From the outside, it doesn't look very inviting. But the inside is really large and well decorated, with a bar lounge area and a regular dining area with booths and lots of seating. The staff were super friendly, giving me great recommendations for what to order and good conversation. I ordered the vegan buffalo wings, which is made from homemade seitan wrapped around a fake bone and fried, then dipped in buffalo sauce. This was really delicious, and you can tell it's made with a lot of love, a very unique dish. For entrees, me and my friend ordered burgers with different toppings. They came with beyond beef, vegan cheese, sauces, and fun toppings like onion rings, vegetables, and more. It came with curly fries or regular fries, and the staff gave us tons of unique sauces for dipping. The burgers were really good, but the star of the show was the buffalo wings! Staff recommended the fried pickles and mushrooms, but were too full to try. I hope to go back and try them soon. We ordered 2 cupcakes, the chocolate bomb one and a birthday cake one. Both were delicious and made great leftovers! I really recommend this place. The staff is lovely and put a ton of energy and effort into their food and quality service. We came across this vegan diner on yelp and decided to give it a try. I was vegan for a brief portion of my life, so I have a appreciation for vegan establishments. Vegan options have 2 ways to attack their goal of satisfying customers. Option one is having fresh and healthy options. Option two is having tasty vegan options that either resemble non vegan options or have delicious taste. First we had the buffalo wings. The bone was made with sugarcane and the chicken may have been made from jackfruit or soy. The buffalo sauce was on point. Next, I had the Tofu Soba. I thought it was good especially because I'm not the biggest fan of tofu. You know it's good when I became upset because I left my to go box. My wife had the scorpion burger. She said she would not order again if we went back, because it was overly cheesy. The service was great so I enjoyed the experience. In addition, the decor is interesting and unique. I love the Notorious B.I.G silhouette they had on their wall. We will return one day. read more

We are on a mission to support more vegan restaurants. Stopped in to Bayside Cafe tonight. Started in the bar with a very well-poured drink, and some amazing deep fried pickles. So yum. Bar tender was super helpful and friendly. Just hanging out keeping us company. Then went to the dining room for dinner. We had a couple burgers and the ghost "chiken" sandwich. Everything was so delicious. Quick service. Best tasting fries and tots. So sad to see this place so empty on a Friday night. I hope it was just too soon after the holidays. The building may seem a bit odd (old Chinese restaurant) but it kind of works. Even non-vegans can enjoy this place. Go check it out! read more

I feel bad for this place that it is located in a practically invisible spot in the not-the-nicest area of Everett, because it is GOOD! Neither my husband nor I are Vegan--we got a gift certificate for this place from a relative that is--so we were trepidatious about both the food and the location. But we were so pleasantly surprised! Hubby got the German brat and loved it! I got the fish(less) sandwich and could not tell it wasn't actually fish, as it was flaky like cod. The vegan ranch tastes like normal ranch, and the fried mushrooms were a nice appetizer. But most importantly, the waitress was super nice and helpful, and the interior aesthetic was welcoming and clean. I so hope this restaurant succeeds, as it deserves to despite its locale. I am happy to report that my fellow reviewers got it so right! We had fried mushrooms, pretzel sticks, Chickun Sandwich. The Chikun Sandwich is breaded fresh in house and I loved it. I ordered the Scorpion burger with curly fries and was not disappointed. By far the tastiest burger I have ever had with the perfect spice level. I thought the curly fries were fresh and perfectly fried, too. I was skeptical about the vegan cheese as the other vegan cheeses I have tried taste a bit "off" but the chao cheese used on this burger is superior and melted nicely! The staff was friendly from the moment I called in to place my order to when it came time to pick up my food.
