Chicken in a biscuit
Vidonni G.

I came here this morning and got the chicken in a biscuit with the Hunger Games drink. That sandwich is a big ass sandwich! Those biscuits are huge! Plus it's so tasty! I could only eat half and take the other half home for leftovers. Which is a good thing! My drink was sweet and tasty too. The servers were really nice and asked how my day was and the interior of the place feels homey like a little cottage. I really enjoyed everything. I will def return again!

We love the gravy at biscuit and bean. They also have great coffee. There is outdoor and indoor seating with high chairs available. It's located right across the street from the park and we love to order to-go and let the kids run around. The staff is really friendly and the service was quick. We loved that they had children's toys and a little library, take a book leave a book. We will definitely be back to try new specials.

For breakfast on a Lake Stevens/Marysville adventure today, Wednesday 5 July 2023, I stopped by Biscuit & Bean on Main Street in Lake Stevens. It had shared parking accessible off Main Street and its name was visible from the parking spots. I had heard about it before my adventure today and ultimately chose it for my only breakfast stop as the nearby Lake Stevens Donuts was closed for the day due to an injured baker. Inside, the lighting was warm in tone and music played in the background. Placing my order and payment was straightforward and the worker was cordial. I decided to go with a Lumberjack sandwich on buttermilk biscuit. When my order was ready, I picked up a few of the napkins available with other coffee/dining supplies. The sandwich was large, sausage patty thick and cheese melty. The biscuit was warm and crumbly with a golden exterior and the egg a textural fit with the sausage. For the red sauce of sorts on the sandwich, I initially thought it might be a bacon spread as it looked like bacon bits. So, I savored it a little more selectively on my palate while eating and decided on an herbed tomato spread. Re-checking the menu later, it listed a tomato jam as part of the sandwich. I ate the whole sandwich in one go, finding it to be a filling serving.

I never liked the dish biscuits and gravy until I tried the biscuits and gravy at Biscuit & Bean. They have two kinds of biscuits: buttermilk or cheddar & green onion. I got the biscuit and gravy: breakfast sausage served with the cheddar & green onion. The biscuit was very flavorful, nice and moist. You can tell that it was made fresh on the day. The gravy is a creamy base with sausage chunks in it. It was very tasty. The dish costed $10 and it was enough to share between two people. The dish was very flavorful overall. There are limited seats at this location. Free parking is available in the front. I found out about this place from my Yelper friend C. She highly recommended it. Honestly if it wasn't for Yelper C, I would not have known that there is a town called Lake Stevens. The restaurant / bakery is located right across from City Hall.

Overcooked outside, not what is expected for a buttermilk biscuit and warmed up greasy sausage gravy

Fun little place and we were riding around on our side by side and dropped in. Everything was totally great. We ate while driving.

Ask the Community - Biscuit & Bean Lake Stevens

Will they substitute just bacon & raspberry jam on the lumberjack sandwich for the bacon-sausage patty & tomato jam or are they pre made and no substitutions?

Probably! They are not premade.

I crave the lumberjack at random points in the day and love an opportunity to drive over and get one.

I've been wanting to try their chocolate chip cookie but it's never ready when I've gone. Their burrito is delicious though, it's packed and super filling, not to mention the sauces are the best part! I wish they gave a little more as I end up finishing the sauces before the burrito is done because they're sooo tasty with the burrito. I also wish they had other meat options other than bacon. They don't have chicken add ins but other than that it's a great place! I've also had their biscuit and jam, but that's just ok. I wouldn't get it again. It's not that tasty or memorable. There's lots of seating, food is ready fairly quickly, service is great and employees are friendly, and parking right outside. So convenient!

However, and I'd like to share my feedback on my experiences. - The food is decent, though it's often prepared for presentation rather than taste. It frequently arrives cold. - The coffee and tea are overpriced and tastes mediocre. - for instance, I paid $8 for a 4-ounce mix of espresso and orange juice that made my stomach hurt. - I also paid nearly $7 for the "peach blossom tea" and ended up getting 3/4 cup of ice, packet tea, and sweetener in a cup. - I've tried nearly everything on the drink menu and nothing is 'great' - The wait time for an order is incredibly long, and the employees are often distracted and preoccupied with other tasks, making it difficult to get my order taken. Overall, go to narrative for the ambiance and food, NOT the drinks.

My order got a little mixed up (switched the espresso types and put in to go cups), but the staff were super kind and righted it as soon as they realized. I only tried their cardamom ginger molasses cookie sandwich (delicious and not too sweet), but I'll absolutely be back to try some of their other gluten-free goodies!

Upon entering, i immediately noticed baked goods display and the drink menu. The case was filled with a bunch of interesting types of baked goods. On top of the rose cardamom latte, brioche tart and cardamom twist. We also got a savory scone and another item that escapes me. I enjoyed the savory scone the most. It had chives and bacon amongst other things. Great texture and not too dry. The brioche tart was a meal all on its own. Heavy and will put you to sleep. The cheese I think that was in there was gruyere but I could be wrong. I enjoyed it but definitely will splooge out if you down eat it on a plate with utensils. Eventually it does get monotonous for me. Recommend sharing it. Cardamom twist was the least favorite item. I'm not sure what it was but there was an essence of something in the background that threw the flavor off for me. I can't seem to describe it. The twist was slightly doughy/stodgy for me. Maybe part of an off batch. I typically do like cardamom centered things. This wasn't my favorite is all I can say. One suggestion I would hope gets implemented is cost of goods displayed for each item. I can say I was surprised at the total during check out. I do go to a lot of bakeries, cafes and artisanal shops. I always felt more at ease knowing what I was getting into from a financial standpoint. Tip is to look at their discounted items. They are a steal. They also have a rewards program that gets you a drink with every new sign up paired with a purchase I wish I had known prior to purchase as I was only able to spot signage at the register.

This was my first visit to The Creamery in Marysville earlier this Sunday morning (1/11/26)…read more It is located off of State and Grant where there are several other businesses and adjacent to a Safeway and Safeway fuel station. I was able to find parking right out front. There were several people socializing outside and various parties seated inside. There is a large main dining area, as well as, additional seating off to the side from the entrance. Decent natural light, assorted seating configurations, and very clean. Upon entry, one sees the pastry case filled with fresh baked items, including items that are noted as gluten free. I glanced and didn't see anything savory for breakfast during this visit, but selected a giant cherry danish for The Homie. When I arrived at home, I measured the widest diameter, it was seven inches across, which was pretty impressive. There are also spigots for self serve ice cream and frozen yogurt against one wall. There is quite the vast assortment of toppings to customize your frozen treat. I'm sure this place is very crowded during warmer months. I also got a 16oz mocha, no whip, to go. Featured coffee roasts are from Whidbey Coffee. Very welcoming counter person/barista, who crafted a very tasty mocha. This kept me warm later while I waited in line at another business further down State. Great indie cafe destination since 2016. Took me a decade to check out The Creamery. But better late, than never.

These tiny tastes from heaven were absolutely delightful and delicious - pure joy in every bite! We ordered three types of mini cupcakes, one dozen of each baked with traditional flour, and one dozen of each with gluten free. The cake of each variety was incredibly moist and tender, a perfect sponge that practically melted in the mouth. This is an achievement worthy of accolades! The stars of the party were the rich, custom-made German chocolate cupcakes. These were a special request, the favorite of the birthday celebrant. A broad age range of discerning foodies raved about these delectable treats. The second, vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream that were artfully frosted to resemble sunflowers, which added such an imaginative and charming touch to the celebration. The third, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. The sheer balance of flavors is noteworthy. The richness was there, and it never overwhelmed; the sweetness was present, and it wasn't dominant. It was a harmonious symphony of buttery, chocolatey, sugary perfection. Each cupcake was a tiny work of art, beautifully crafted and almost too pretty to eat. Almost. As you can see in the picture, a few were eaten before a photo could be snapped. What a good problem to have! These scrumptious creations also thoughtfully incorporated the themes of the party. Weaving together baking, decorating, and listening are a very rare and welcomed set of gifts, which generate top-notch expertise in their craft. I highly recommend The Creamery Co. for any special occasion.
