This place is the best!! I've been here a few times now and I always get the same order - breakfast burrito with avocado and London fog tea or their seasonal coffee beverages. I've been wanting to try their chocolate chip cookie but it's never ready when I've gone. Their burrito is delicious though, it's packed and super filling, not to mention the sauces are the best part! I wish they gave a little more as I end up finishing the sauces before the burrito is done because they're sooo tasty with the burrito. I also wish they had other meat options other than bacon. They don't have chicken add ins but other than that it's a great place! I've also had their biscuit and jam, but that's just ok. I wouldn't get it again. It's not that tasty or memorable. There's lots of seating, food is ready fairly quickly, service is great and employees are friendly, and parking right outside. So convenient! read more

I've been a frequent customer of Narrative Coffee for the past year and a half because of its nice atmosphere and its location. However, and I'd like to share my feedback on my experiences. - The food is decent, though it's often prepared for presentation rather than taste. It frequently arrives cold. - The coffee and tea are overpriced and tastes mediocre. - for instance, I paid $8 for a 4-ounce mix of espresso and orange juice that made my stomach hurt. - I also paid nearly $7 for the "peach blossom tea" and ended up getting 3/4 cup of ice, packet tea, and sweetener in a cup. - I've tried nearly everything on the drink menu and nothing is 'great' - The wait time for an order is incredibly long, and the employees are often distracted and preoccupied with other tasks, making it difficult to get my order taken. I wanted to offer some feedback based on my experience. This is not about the quality of the product -- the coffee and food are good, and I'd say they're among the better options in the Everett area. That said, a good product doesn't automatically equal a good experience. The café itself is nicely designed, but the customer experience falls short, largely due to a combination of weak service and a confusing ordering/hand-off system -- and the service attitude tends to amplify those issues. A few specific points: * There are no prices listed for retail items. * There is no clear pour-over menu. * Customers are not told where or how orders will be handed off. * There doesn't appear to be a consistent order-labeling system. Mobile orders seem to get a name on a sticky note, but individual drinks and food items are not labeled. This creates a confusing hand-off area. * When orders are called, customers are left to guess which items are theirs. This led to a frustrating situation. A mobile order had a name similar to my husband's (his name is often misheard), so we asked for clarification at hand-off -- which seems reasonable given the lack of labeling. One drink had a name on a sticky note, but the food (which we were still waiting on while the rest of our order was completed) was sitting separately with no label at all. Naturally, we assumed it was ours. It turned out the food belonged to the mobile order -- something there was no way for us to know. A little customer service and basic clarification would have gone a long way. For drinks, I got a decaf oat milk latte and L got a limewired. Everything was delicious - I was not a fan of the limewired but L said it was refreshing and tasted better as she drank it - but it was a very expensive outing. A subpar experience. We ordered The Wetmore Sandwich and the Ham & Gruyere Sandwich. However, we ended up receiving a Grilled Cheese sandwich instead the Ham one. Came here with a friend for brunch and a coffee and we were so happy we chose Narrative! I got the Avocado Toast which was super yummy and flavorful, would def recommend. The staff were so kind and let me and my friend order the breakfast menu right before one when it closes. The atmosphere is so cute, the shop is nestled next to the court house in Everett and a cute little break from everything going on outside. Their food is scratch made and tastes DELICIOUS! Narrative Coffee used to be a favorite, but sadly, the new ownership has completely ruined what made this place special. The charm, the service, and the welcoming vibe are gone. Today was the final straw. The shop abruptly closed at 2pm--even though it was still full of customers, the door was propped open, and there was no clear signage about the early closure. When we politely asked about it, the barista was incredibly rude and dismissive, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than a customer. This kind of inconsistent operation and poor treatment is not what we expect from a neighborhood coffee shop--especially when others nearby manage to stay open later and treat people with respect. Adorable, random and tasty coffee house in Everett, I ordered the bourbon butterscotch latte. It was delicious but also $8.50 eek! Definitely a splurge coffee and wanted to fry it because that is what they were popular for. The avocado toast was perfect! Those pickles onions Loved the thick bread from Couix bakery. This was $20 after I added an egg. Not pictured but a buttery croissant my son seemed to enjoy it and gobbled up. Overall, this place is a quaint little coffee shop and would be perfect for an afternoon date with a special someone. My only suggestion for not making 5 stars was the cost. One coffee, avocado toast and croissant was $40 after tip. Yikes! That is a huge amount for what you get. The price tag was steep but no complaints about service, food and coffee.
