I am a serious coffee addict I've tried many many cafes it's my favorite thing to do and this place has the best coffee I've ever had :) I've been coming here regularly for 2 years I usually like just coffee and hate flavors but their banana bread latte is amazing! Butter Notes has a really cool vibe and is definitely a cute spot to hang out. The strawberry matcha was absolutely delicious and was the highlight of my visit. The Nutella and strawberry crepe was also very good, although it's hard to go wrong with Nutella and fresh strawberries. Unfortunately, the food overall was pretty lackluster. The bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin tasted like one of those frozen microwave breakfast sandwiches rather than something made fresh in-house. It didn't have the quality or flavor I was expecting especially for the price point. The biggest disappointment was the salmon croffle. The combination of the salmon with the sweet waffle-like pastry created an awkward flavor pairing that just didn't work for me. I would say this is really more of a 3.5 but i rounded up because the staff were nice and I have had much better experiences here when getting drinks, plus the community centered focus of the cafe. A friend and I came in before sorticulture to get some lunch and caffeine. I tried to order the earls garden but they said they didn't have it anymore. My friend tried to order the cream cheese coffee (or something like that), and they seemed a little annoyed saying that they are no longer serving their spring menu. So we mentioned that it was listed on the physical menu they still had out for people to look at, and we apologize for the confusion. They hadn't realized that's what was still up/not crossed out. I got the turkey pesto and salad which was really good! They asked if I wanted garlic butter on my sandwich which was also nice, though the sandwich was a bit salty in general. But I loved the sourdough and the pesto. The matcha was also very good and when I wanted it just a little sweeter (they do not sweeten their matcha) the barista was very happy to accommodate that. When my friend got her grilled cheese the cheese itself was actually not really melted at all, just warm (sorry no pictures, and she still ate it) she said it also did not taste like she got garlic butter as requested. She said the tomato soup was divine as was her coffee, but there was a little confusion because she ordered a bigger size but got the smaller (she got the lunch special), it wasn't communicated by the staff (her first day so absolutely no problem at all, she's learning the ropes!) that it's just the one size and we hadn't been up bathed for a larger size. No problem at all, the coffee was still good. The serve yourself water machine was broken, but the sign was still out saying to get your own water. Luckily a barista who was super busy was right there to tell me it was broken and she'd be happy to get me a couple waters. I think they were just having a rough day this visit because I have had great experiences when just stopping in to get a matcha previously. I also love how community oriented this place is. I had been wanting to try this place out for awhile. The vibe was chill and relaxed, I loved all the support for local artists. Lots of art for sale as well as cards, coffee cups, and stickers. The employees were very friendly and super helpful with answering questions about the menu. I tried their turkey pesto panini and it was okay, but what really stood out was their strawberry croffle. a croissant heated in a waffle maker, with homemade strawberry cream, along with fresh strawberries and a strawberry sauce on top. That is exactly what I will be coming back for! excited to try a different variety of croffle next. read more

There are multiple ways to order either ahead of arrival, in person or at location via the kiosk. This cafe is very cozy, offers multiple types of seating options. Croffle was delicious and atmosphere was great. Loved looking through the stickers and other small retail items. Would love to see a dedicated vegan options. Service, however, was a bit unfriendly and off-putting. Staff would likely benefit from customer service training. read more

This is the perfect Sunday hang out place. The vibe is chill, plenty of tables, along with a sofa and some chairs. There are board games and outlets close by to plug in a laptop and get some work done. So far I have only tried the Ube latte iced and hot. I prefer the flavour when it is hot but both are good. Well, I absolutely love their place and their coffee, however I was very disappointed when after I spent 20 minutes driving just to get a cup of their coffee. I got there at 7:48(!) they close at 8(!) and the man (idk who he was) said that they're closed. On my comment that they have their led light saying "open" and it's 10 minutes till they actually close he did respond and shrugged his shoulders. I feel disappointed since I spent so much time to get there but couldn't even get 1 cup of coffee while they were still open. Absolutely terrible experience this time. read more

I was at a tournament for my son at Everett Community College and we went here to grab a quick breakfast not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised turned out to be great! All the food was freshly made and so good! The fruit was fresh the whip cream was perfect and the croffles were delicious and crisp with just the right amount of toppings. We were going to take the food to go but the seating area was so cute and nice we stayed a bit! They have games to play and great ambiance! I really wanted to love this place but I only just like it. I have been twice. The first time I ordered the one croffle and a honey cardamom latte with almond milk. Next time I ordered the one latte. The coffee was smooth but the honey cardamom latte just tasted like a regular latte.... Couldn't taste the flavor. The one latte had a great first few sips but after that the same thing.... I stopped by about 10 minutes before closing on my way home from work, just planning to grab a coffee to go. The hours say they close at 8 PM, and the "Open" sign was still on the door, but as soon as I walked in a man rather rudely stopped me and said they were already closed. If you close earlier than your posted hours, the open sign shouldn't still be on. The interaction felt unnecessarily unfriendly and left a bad impression. read more
