Meandering through downtown Everett, past their Sunday farmers market, where I decided to grab a 16oz mocha at another indie, The Loft Coffee Bar (3/17/24). Beans are from Fidalgo Bay, some menu items are available from the pastry and refrigerated cases. Ample seating available by the entrance, high tops, counter, and a few tables onsite. Some natural light streaming in from the front windows onto the wood flooring. Nice spot where one can have a convo, get stuff done via laptop, enjoy a selection of board games, or just chill with the overhead music. Note: No coffee art provided, no crema - just steamed milk, and a 35 cent "non cash convenience fee" (see Yelp tip) added to the subtotal, tax, and my 20% tip. Pretty pricey for a standard mocha. I haven't tried their food, it all looked prepackaged and not appetizing at all. Same with the baked items. The shop itself was super cute. The barista/cashier definitely was not interested in customer interaction, she was kinda rude and sarcastic. The coffee is Fidalgo roasters--it is what it is, and I haven't found any shops that do anything special with it. Our latte was with foamed milk, but tasted and felt like drip coffee with cream--nothing special, and much darker than my preference. The baristas were friendly enough. The interior is useful. It's a down-to-business coffee shop with dark areas to sit down and good, chill, upbeat indie music. Good for dates and gatherings that are down to business. The back section is just as big as the front section and even has a large area that can be reserved. Definitely not cute or foo-foo, which I'm fine with. The mural outside is beautiful! So far the Everett coffee scene is much lacking compared to Bellingham--hopefully I can find better options next time. read more

I love some of the great restaurants and coffee bars that are popping up in old Everett. This is certainly one of those. We had a traditional macchiato that was made very well, and a great mocha that was equally good served up by a friendly staff. I didn't get to try any of the pastries or sandwiches, but they certainly look like they come from equal kitchen. I'll certainly be back and look forward to my next coffee meeting in a comfortable and clean modern atmosphere. read more

Near where I work, there are no real coffee shops. This one is a short drive from my office and is my go to place to get that extra kick start on the days I don't bring coffee with me (or I want something extra). People always refer to espresso drinks and hand crafted, and I find for the most part that's a joke. Most times you get a mocha you can see them using chocolate syrup and the drink lacks substance. That's why I like Loft. You can see they take their time with the drinks (but they are still super fast at getting you your order) and the value for your dollar is there. They have some unique creations on their menu as well, and I have not tried anything I don't like so far. Plus the inside is the store has that rustic downtown NY loft feel to it. With the exposed brick and hardwood floors, it matches its name. Parking is not too bad in that particular part of downtown Everett. Totally worth a try if you work or live in the area, or if you are just passing through. I highly recommend it. read more

Came in on a Sunday morning to hear the Jazz scheduled. It's a cute place with some street parking and plenty of room inside. Except it was some coffee run that morning and the place was standing room only. We stayed and I was surprised how fast the line to order moved. Grabbed a sandwich, bagel sandwich, snack food, and biscuit/gravy order for the family and several drinks. Waiting for the drinks took the longest. We waited for the food to be heated, ate it, and still waited on drinks. It was a busy morning so I can't complain too much. Drinks were excellent! They offer mimosas too on Sunday mornings. The Jazz music was fantastic. We will be back to try again on a hopefully non 5k morning. read more

Walking in the door I am comforted immediately by the atmosphere. It is a large space but designed with a sense of warmth. I ordered a breve latte along with a hazelnut latte. The employees are professional and friendly. The Loft had quite a few people sitting at tables eating, drinking and talking. I could tell this new place has already been welcomed by Everett as the customers were many. I was so impressed with this new place that my daughter and I are going back for paninis!! Will update this review after lunch. Sandwiches are brought in from local vender. They sell out quickly. My choices were meatloaf (2 left) and a caprese. I chose the caprese. I wanted to like this place and frankly, it's pretty good service and product. HOWEVER.... It left a bad taste. I'm a business owner and need to keep receipts and you're gonna make me print off my own? It's not even an option? That's ridiculous. That's just trashy, especially when we're the customer and you make it hard for us to be there. Big mistake. I can't imagine printing off my own business receipts because an establishment doesn't give out receipts. How are you supposed to confirm what you paid for? I don't normally review places after going just once because I want to make sure I can provide a fair assessment, but with this place I'm pretty sure I get the point- it's incredible. Before I get started, despite the name being The Loft, you do NOT have to climb stairs to get here. It might seem kind of silly but I was on foot and had a stroller and was afraid I wouldn't make it in. I also think about my friends who are in wheelchairs that might be concerned. It's on the ground level. The door does open out so it can be a challenge, but another patron ran over to rescue me. You're greeted as soon as you enter. The service- both at the bar and at the register- is friendly. There are a few pastry options and some Protein Pucks (which are vegan!), as well as paninis and small salads. They have lots of flavor options and, at the risk of sounding basic- THEY HAVE NUTELLA! I'm not one of those Nutella People, but I do love having different options for my coffee drinking pleasure. My drink of choice was the Marocchino- which is NOT a latte but more of a solo or doppio espresso macchiato with Nutella (meaning one or two shots of espresso with Nutella, a dollop of foam and chocolate shavings). The foam- despite being almond milk- was dense and velvety- as foam should be. I assumed it would be more like a mocha but I was wrong. The good news- it was delicious, with strong and smooth shots, and you can order a Nutella mocha as well (I did on the way out). You get a chocolate-covered espresso bean on the top! If you read my other reviews you'll know how frustrated I get with places that don't understand my "iced drink- no ice" order but I'm happy to report that as soon as I ordered my Nutella Mocha this way and added "it's for tomorrow" the girl said "totally. I get it- I know exactly what you mean." I feel safe here. One of my favorite things about this place- besides the service and product- is the vibe. It definitely has a hip and cool vibe, but not the type that makes you feel somehow unworthy of being there. It's very welcoming and warm, and because the backdrop and tables are all so adorable- your Snapchats and Instagrams of your treats will look great. The lines are very clean and the bar area is huge. It's spotless and stretches back beautifully for the baristas to have plenty of space to handcraft your beverages. The names of the baristas working are up on the wall. They have hemp, almond and soy milk available for $.50 extra; my non-animal milk drinkers know how nice it is to not have an outrageous up-charge for doing the right thing. They offer a 10% discount to a variety of folks, to include Health Workers, Firefighters, Police Officers and some other wonderful public servants. Welcome, The Loft! Good morning!! First of all i am new to the area and living in Marysville. Coming from the land of a sit down coffeehouses every other block, i was amazed at the lack of here in Marysville. So i ventured out in search of. Low and behold the first place i has the pleasure of walking into was.....yep you guessed it THE LOFT! I was genuinely, warmly greeted by the barista Miss Emily. FYI I HATE fake greetings as you walk into a business.(Jamba juice take note) you know the greeting you get when all 5 of the people working go "WELCOME" in unison. Because cooperate says you have too. I Ordered a cappuccino. Served in a 16 oz mug it is more like a foamy latte. My personal preference is dbl shot espresso in a 6 to 8 oz cup with textured milk. Everyones interpretation of a cappuccino is different everywhere you go. Bottom line....it was very tasty. So heads up, the espresso here if good. Emily seems to take care in making sure the espresso is pulling correctly. THAT i greatly appreciate. I bought some of their roasters beans for the house and was not disappointed.
