I've been here twice: once for dinner and once for breakfast; A stunning thing is the menu is voluminous like it's Russian literature. I'm stunned that the kitchen can stay on top of it while making tasty food and maintaining timely and competent service. Maybe they have a hidden genie helping them? In any case, it's impressive. My first time there was for dinner and I ordered some sort of steak dish on the server's recommendation. I have to say the sides were great but the steak was just "OK", because it had the downside of 90% of restaurant steaks: no crust. still, it was decently seasoned and cooked to a perfect mid rare; For breakfast, they absolutely hit it out of the park. Some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had anywhere. In fact, inside the historic district of Snohomish (draw a rectangle between 3rd and the Snohomish River N/S and then Ave E and the Pilchuk River W/E), this is the best breakfast to be had, and I've tried the three other major sit-down breakfast options. Service in the ambience of the place are super cute, especially during a sunny day. I brought my dog along with me and found a nice table on the patio. There are a lot of food options and they so breakfast lunch and dinner all day so if you're craving any sort of meal, it's nice to have options. I opted for an eggs Benedict with shrimp and crab, which was delicious and I got a lot of large bites of crab leg. The food isn't anything extraordinary but everything combined with good service and a beautiful place to look at and sit make it's worth while. I also appreciated how attentive our waitress was with refilling my soda. I visited the Cabbage patch restaurant for the first time this past Friday afternoon. I was so pleasantly surprised with the quiet room my friend and I were seated in. It was nice to be able to have a nice conversation without having to compete with loud conversations nearby. Our waitress, Raegan was so so pleasant. She was right on top of things without hovering. My friend ordered the Friday soup special, Shrimp Gumbo and I ordered a 1/2 of a sandwich with a salad. Mine was perfect. I ordered two pieces of pie to go to share with a friend that evening. The apple crumble pie and strawberry rhubarb pie both looked wonderful however I left them both for my friend to enjoy!! He said he approved!! I'm going to have to go back to give them a try. Such a wonderful experience! We stopped at the Cabbage Patch while visiting downtown Snohomish and absolutely loved it. The restaurant has such a unique, cozy atmosphere--it feels like you're having a meal in a beautiful old family home rather than a typical restaurant. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The warm scones with jam were an especially nice touch. We were in the snohomish area for lunch and found this cute house converted to restaurant. We love local and mostly adore women run businesses. We went for a late lunch and we were seated immediately. Totally loved the ambiance of the house, cute little spots to sit and lot of vintage items part of the house. The menu is large, we were offered scones and freshly made berry jam as we were taking a look at the menu. Everything is made in house, specially the bread. The scones were delicious and it was finished in no time. We ordered few starters - Mussels in garlic herb, Coconut shrimp and artichoke dip Mains - Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta and sourdough bread bowl The service is quick but our server was a little pushy and not giving us time to decide. It was kind of daunting to quickly order something. The appetizers were great, loved the shrimp and mussels. The artichoke dip was just decent but the bread was a hit. We loved the sourdough bread bowl and the tangy tomato soup added great flavor. The fettuccine pasta was on the sweeter side and didn't like it much. An amazing place to dine. The decor is historic, fun, and has a sense of ageless class. The service was exceptional! And the food, good lort! They give your warm scones, butter, and a delicious jam when you sit down. On the order was the Extra Cheesy Grilled Cheese w/Potato Cakes and the Bacon Country Gravy w/Scones. Wow! I wish I had gotten there earlier so I could have done my walking around, shopping, and been able to work up an appetite to go back before I had to head out. We need one of these in SoCal. Cabbage Patch is such a cute, cozy spot. It feels like you're eating in someone's house. We used to love it here. Recent visit was awful. They messed up my omelet filling request, and said they would remake it. Was happy as the egg was very brown and scorched and filling cold. Second round was also wrong to the point I did not eat it. Service was nowhere to be found (we were in the very back section inside). Ordered toast and really wanted jam but by the time anyone came around the toast was cold, water refill was hard to come by. Was not given an I'm sorry on the 2nd food mishap that I didn't eat but rather that they would give me a refund on one of the filling items... this was a make your own omelet with 3 added ingredients, not difficult. At this point, don't bother, you lost a long time customer - you can keep your $2.50. read more

Had a great time with my husband at this Snohomish classic spot. It was sunny, so we sat under an umbrella on their porch, which was quite pleasant. We ordered two cocktails and shared a Reuben sandwich with fries and a berry cobbler with ice cream. All were very good and the prices were about average for what we ordered. Went here with a group. The menu is very large. The service was also very good. The food was ok, I had the sockeye salmon with a side cesar and baked potato. The cesar was the star of the meal. It was dressed perfectly and had nice portions of shaved parmesan on the salad. The baked potato was cooked well, simple with the right amount of toppings on the side. a cute little antique restaurant with the exterior of a mini barn ! on the inside you'll find many retro items of typewriters & old antiques, making the theme & vibe of the restaraunt feel old chic in the best way possible. upon entering you can see the bar they have that's loaded with their coffee flavoring pumps, & a huge case lined with their fresh pies. there's seating inside & on the patio, & plenty of space so it doesn't feel overly cramped - it's quiet spacious for what seems like such a tiny place. our server was very kind to us, constantly coming by to make sure if we needed anything & if we were enjoying our food. with your meal, you get fresh scones with fresh raspberry jam & salted butter packets. the scones were amazing - i had without butter & jam - they didn't taste of yeast or super dry ! the jam was alright, a bit on the bitter side, but it was lovely fresh jam that i know others would love. i ordered the eggs benedict with ham, with a side of the cabbage potatoes & a hot chocolate. my partner ordered their cheeseburger with a side of fries. the hot chocolate was delicious ! the whipped cream was sweet & fluffy, & mixed well with the sweet yet savory , milky hot chocolate: finally somewhere where it didn't taste like it was out of a packet ! the eggs benedict was very good, the eggs were perfectly poached, the sauce was a bit light, & the biscuit was a bit over toasted, but even with that it was easily overlooked because it was delectable. the potatoes as well were fresh tasting & didn't taste of being overly salted nor gouged in oil. my partner said both the fries & the burger was amazing, & it was one of the freshest cut of meat he has ever had. i recommend coming here if you're got any good spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner ! or if you're a pie person, to stop in for some fresh homemade pie :) read more

In a word, "no". First off, our server Tiffany was wonderful - attentive and professional. It's a cute enough place- an old farm house with several small rooms you can be seated in. We appreciated that there seemed to be some sensitivity regarding spacing between tables- they are adequately spaced apart. They were out of our first few picks for food, but I'm not sure it would have made a difference. I settled on the Cordon Bleu Bites, and the Truffle Fries. I don't think I've ever sent anything back to the kitchen, and usually cringe when seeing someone do this. But after trying one of the "cordon bleu bites" I did just that. Not sure what the exterior was, but it tasted like Campbell's soup inside. As for the "truffle fries" - the Cabbage Patch disappoints there, too. The fries were packaged frozen, not fresh hand-cut, and decorated with a little cheese. My friend said her chicken sandwich was ok. Consensus? There doesn't seem to be a chef in the kitchen; the food is not great. This lead us to wonder why it's so hard to find a decent meal in Snohomish - such a cute little town. My previous review was a first date early dinner. A few months later, my date and I celebrated our wedding at Cabbage Patch. I cannot possibly sing their praises any higher! From our initial meeting with owner manager, Sondy, to the ceremony and dinner, these folks bent over backward to make our experience top drawer! We actually had the same wait staff for our wedding as we did for our first date! We chose the Garden Room which accommodates 30 and offers beautiful views of the garden area in the rear of the house. We had 25 guests and it was perfect - intimate and private with plenty of room for visiting. We selected three items from their menu as offerings for our guests: fish and chips (because that's what we had on our first date), chicken Marsala or prime rib. Each guest selected their own dinner entree and not one complaint was heard! If I had the choice, I'd give Cabbage Patch a dozen stars! Congratulations on a top notch job and two very happy newlyweds! We returned for breakfast to celebrate our 1 month anniversary and we were greeted like family and by name! My whole group liked our food a lot. And the drinks were so tasty. Several of us got the hot cider alcoholic drink thing. I also like the atmosphere a lot. People seem so sassy about it, calling it shabby or hodge podge. I disagree. It is the inside of a gorgeous old Victorian house and the interior reflects that. I find it cute. My big gripe.... The organization. Hear me out- We walked in to a foyer full of people looking confused. Nobody was at the desk and after asking, we found out everyone had been waiting several minutes with nobody greeting them. Cool. Someone finally came over looking very frazzled and said someone would be with us shortly. But they weren't. We proceeded to wait in a cramped space (and then just outside because it was too cramped with people coming in) for nearly 30 minutes with no update at all. Some people gave up and left, others looked pissed off. We did finally get seated and I appreciated that they could seat a group of 8. But oi, they were clearly super overwhelmed and couldn't handle it. Which I've seen a lot of other reviews say too so this isn't a new issue. They need to figure out how to handle a busy brunch time with more staff, or different table coverage. Idk but it's not my problem as a patron. I will say, our server was fantastic and I really just felt bad for her. I'll return to try other food, but I will be sure to have nothing else planned that day as it will surely take forever. read more

After years of passing this restaurant by, I finally stopped in with a group of family members one Sunday afternoon. The Christmas decor inside was festive, and the set up of the restaurant was reminiscent of a family dining room. Each staff member we interacted with were polite and friendly. We were brought a plate of scones and jam to savor as we decided on our menu choices. These were delicious. I appreciated the variety of options on the menu. The kids menu was great! I ordered the chicken pot pie. The filling was delicious, but the puff pastry on top was a bit much (disproportionate to the amount of filling). The consensus after we ate was that the food was fine, but not anything out of the ordinary, and perhaps not worth the price. I'm writing this review fresh from our Mother's Day brunch at The Cabbage Patch because I'm honestly so taken aback. I've been here before and usually love the food--the pie is amazing--but today's experience was frustrating and disappointing. I understand that Mother's Day is a busy time for restaurants, but that doesn't excuse the level of poor service and rudeness we encountered. From the start, things were off. It took quite a while just to get drinks, and although we requested an extra chair when we were seated, no one ever brought one--we eventually had to grab a chair ourselves from a nearby empty table. The brunch was advertised as four courses, starting with scones and fruit, but we didn't receive those until right before our entrées arrived--and only because we asked. When the scones and fruit were finally brought out, the server seemed irritated and slammed them down on the table without a word. I understand that the staff may have been overwhelmed, but it's not an excuse to treat guests with such attitude. What really upset me was what happened with my leftovers. As a mom with small kids, I was understandably distracted and forgot to grab them when we left. When I called shortly after, I was told they'd already been thrown out. For a special, expensive brunch, that felt incredibly inconsiderate. At the very least, customers should be given a chance to come back for food they paid for. I've had good experiences here in the past, but this one left a bad impression--especially on a day that should've felt special and cared for. read more

What a cute little restaurant. We had the best time there this morning. We ordered classic eggs Benedict and I cannot tell you how wonderful these eggs turned out. It's really hard to find a nice running egg yoke in an Eggs Benedict, but cabbage patch restaurant was spot on! We also had two mimosas to accompany our breakfast. In all my years frequenting the Cabbage Patch, I don't think that ever had breakfast here until my most recent visit. I met up with a friend and enjoyed a lovely meal on the front patio on a gorgeous September day. I asked if I could add deli turkey, like from their turkey sandwich, to an omelet and was happy that they were able to do so. Turkey omelets are one of my favorite foods and I'm always surprised when places don't offer non-pork meats as an option. For a side, I chose the potato cakes at the recommendation of our waitress and they are amazing. As always, the scones with fresh raspberry jams are the perfect way to start a meal and I had to return later in the day for my slice of raspberry cream pie. read more

Very average food in kind of a dumpy house. It's as cluttered as my odd aunt's house. Chairs randomly stacked in the upstairs dining room. Stuff sitting around and weird ambiance. There's a huge opportunity to make this place look cozy and cute but it comes off a little under loved and junky. The food tastes mostly out of a box from Sysco, no seasoning on anything, no real interesting choices. It would be tolerable if it were on the cheaper side, but for basic food done just okay, I expect the price to be about half the price I paid. $19 for a Denver omelet with only cooked potatoes as a side. I want to like it but I'd rather go to Dennys. It's the same food but cheaper. There's a lot of potential, I hope they get better. read more

I had to wait 10 minutes for a table. The restroom was clean, but It is Just one stall. The decoration is Very indique and original. They have a bar with a beautiful vitral window. What a nice surprise to find this gem just off the main drag in downtown Snohomish! Husband & I decided to do some treasure hunting in the afternoon. I was surprised when he said he was hungry and he thought he saw someplace interesting just a couple of blocks up the street. Usually he will consult with me and ask me to check on Yelp for a good restaurant. As we walked up to the establishment, there was a chalkboard with their specials of the day. Nothing struck my fancy but we decided to go in anyway and take out chances. Bad sign when there are so many empty tables. I glanced at my watch. It wasn't even 4:30 pm yet. Okay, too late for lunch, too early for dinner. The person seating us mentioned that we could order dinner. The waiter took our drinks order as we perused our menus. We both ordered green tea. Husband commented that he read that this establishment has been around for 30 years! That's kind of a relief. So it must be good if they've been around that long. I decided to just order an appetizer. Crab, shrimp, and cheeses with French bread sounds tasty. Husband can help me eat it if it's too much. He ordered a veggie burger with a salad. My appetizer smelled wonderful. It looked appealing. Some cheese was also sprinkled on the slices of bread. Very nice presentation. One bite and I was in heaven! Oh yeah, this is good stuff. Husband really liked his salad. Simple green salad I think. I wasn't paying much attention. I was too involved in my own food! Then his veggie burger was served. He smothers his burgers in ketchup. I don't know how he can tell if it's any good with all that ketchup, but he did tell the waiter that he really liked it, but the bun needed more substance. Apparently the waiter talked to the cook and returned saying they were going to try another local bakery for their buns. Nice to know they listen too their customers! By the end of our meal the room was nearly filled with more people. Good sign. Hopefully they will stick around for another 30 years! I used to love love LOVE this restaurant. When I worked in Snohomish I would stop in for lunch fairly often and was always quite pleased with the experience. In the 8 years since I've been back, things have changed a bit. I don't know if it's because we stopped in before the dinner rush, or because it was a weekday, but the overall vibe was lacking. What I remember as a warm, bustling, homey place to rest your bones after a long day at work, or an afternoon of antiquing now feels cold and impersonal. The area of the restaurant we were seated in was virtually empty, the staff was polite, but not warm. The food took some time to come out, but as I was catching up with a friend I didn't mind, though I could see how others might. A new destination favorite! There were so many favorites listed on the menu that I had such a hard time deciding. I opted for the turkey dinner because it's one of my favorites and difficult to find places that serve it. Delicious! The entire party very much enjoyed the food as well. We're already planning the next visit to try a new dish. Suggestion to the restaurant- I would love to see a sampler plate! I certainly would be willing to pay a fair up charge for the added degree of difficulty. How much enjoyment it would be to have a variety of fabulous flavors.
