Tried this spot for a weekday lunch and had a pretty good experience overall! I went for the salad bar. It was decent and definitely filling. As a vegetarian, my protein option was pesto tofu, while the other options were salmon and tuna. They had all the usual greens and vegetables, and everything was served cold. There were a few in house dressings along with some store bought ones. I tried the balsamic vinaigrette and a honey ginger dressing. It was good, but I think it could be better. My husband ordered the pesto tofu sandwich with Moroccan soup, and that was the highlight. The sandwich was delicious, and his only regret was not getting the full size. The soup was also really flavorful. The place itself feels cozy. The food came out quickly, and we finished everything in no time. Parking is street parking, which might be tricky, especially on weekends. Overall, a good experience. Drove all the way from Seattle to check out this vegan and gluten-free friendly restaurant. They boast organic ingredients, very friendly staff and lots of seating inside and outside. They had 4 soup specials today on the menu (who has that many options!!) and were kind enough for my kid to try the lentil one. The soups were hearty and delicious, and we had the turkey pesto and pastrami sandwiches. They were pretty good and served with tortilla chips or greens. I do laundry at a laundromat near by, I was hungry and always wanted to try this place. I got the sandwich that had pesto and turkey on it, the slim smoothie (berry and green tea with protein powder added). For my side I chose the veggies and hummus. The most recent time was when we chose to feed our baby soup with peanuts in it. It's one thing to warn us but another to say it in a way that is indirect and feels judgmental. "What are we eating? There's no peanut allergies, I hope." Vs "just wanted to make sure you know there are peanuts in that in case she has an allergy." She ordered the portobello burger and I ordered the veggie grilla. We both commented on the healthier option of hummus that was served, instead of fries. The reason I give this place 5 stars is because my son is a picky eater. This place is aimed to vegetarians and meat eaters alike. It is like the Switzerland of those two genres. I ordered a half BBQ tofu sandwich for my dairy/egg allergic child, but to my surprise, I read on the menu that the tofu came with milk-based cheese. Maybe the cheese would have made a difference, but he was served one of the driest sandwiches I have ever seen! Very little BBQ sauce on the tofu, no other sauce, just a slice of soy bacon, a slice of tomato, and a slice of red onion on toast. We waited a very long time to get to the counter and when we finally got there, the girl with the tattoo is all over her fingers was very rude and definitely did not want to be there. In fact when we were outside the table next to us was talking about how rude she was and that they are regulars there and they want to say something, but they don't wanna make their experience unpleasant the next time . My half toasted cheese sandwich was covered with pickles, which I asked if they could put them on the side for my guest and my toasted cheese sandwich was covered in pickles.
