    05. Fried Egg Rolls Wrapped
    Tech K.

Seattle Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant served probably the most realistic vegetarian meat I've had in a long time. The vegetarian meat in question was the grilled lemongrass "pork" found in the special vermicelli bowl (#23 on the menu). The fact that it's even served like a skewer really added to the meat imitation factor. Taste-wise, you could tell it's not real meat, but it still tasted pretty good all the same. The rest of the vermicelli bowl was solid; it's hard to go wrong when the rest of the ingredients are fish sauce, peanuts, and various veggies. My girlfriend and I also shared an appetizer of wrapped fried egg rolls (#5 on the menu). These are fried egg rolls which are wrapped in spring roll wraps which provides a satisfying contrast of textures between the soft spring rolls and crunchy egg roll shells. These were delicious too (as well as being a rare dish to see in Seattle from my experience).

Wasn't impressed with the food. Although it did offer a lot of different dishes... originally wanted the canh chua but they didn't make it yet... so we settled for the bitter melon soup. The broth was sweet and the bitter melon was old and shriveled and I guess overcooked from getting reheated. The Hu tieu with Bo vien was also sweet and noodles were way overcooked and break when picked up with a fork or chopsticks. Thap cam kho to was sweet but savory and delicious. It had a variety of ingredients and pairs well with white rice. The rice was really dry and seems old like when you leave it overnight and the outer ring of rice gets crusty. I don't think those 3 dishes, a tra da, and strawberry smoothie is worth over $80 for the portions. We're not really interested on coming back here.

This restaurant is own by 1000 Lotus Temple (Chua Van Hoa, White Center) Came in with very soothing music. Not a big space but very good if you want privacy. Monk is extremely friendly and the food is very good. Don't get me wrong I'm a meat lover and there's name on the menu there's meat but it's not. It's all plant base!! Blew my mind there isn't meat but omg I can't even tell!! Food taste amazing!! We started with appetizer: crispy Fried Tofu (omg I never taste such soft tofu!!) the plum sauce with is pair really well. deep Fried wonton was good also. I think they both got the same dipping sauce. I recommend the Salted Fish Fried Rice - sound weird but extremely delicious. Went really well with the Tuna with tomato sauce I will definitely come back!! A gem in white center for sure!!

    43. Braised Combination Veggie Meat

A humble establishment that is run by a family that serve Temple style vegetarian food that is good for the soul. I ordered: 1) baby bok choy and mushrooms with vegetables- I requested for no tofu and more veggies instead. But what I got was veggies minus tofu and mushrooms. Having said that, this fish was so simple and flavorful. There sauce was nice and light with the perfect ratio of salt. 2) braised veggie meat hot pot - this dish is spicy and the oil in the clay dish was bubbling. Each bite had a distinct soy/chilly flavor. Mushrooms were delicious! 3) fried egg rolls wrap (which never came :-/) Do note that there is an extra charge to get rice with the entrees. Although I didn't get the fried egg rolls, the entrees were a good portion so I'm glad they forgot about it. Language maybe a barrier here in getting the custom order right, but please do give these people a chance. The food is simple yet delicious and warm. Truly good for the soul. I'm coming back again

this place has been on my radar for a while so i finally decided to order take out and see for myself. although i eat seafood, i find the concept of eating fake, plant based meat that mimics beef, chicken, duck or pork odd. here is my thinking: if i don't want to eat those meats under normal circumstances, i certainly don't need to order them in manufactured form. i recognize everyone has their own preferences and i love that there are restaurants like this that provide customers the knowledge (and relief!) that nothing they prepare includes any meat at all. carnivores may not understand this, but it just makes it so much easier for vegetarians and vegans to feel comfortable ordering from a menu or simply decide to eat at a designated establishment so the experience is almost a win from the start. i ordered take out and will start with my initial impressions, saving my most positive part of the review for last. i called in my order and the person on the other end was friendly and told me approximately how long it would be before i could pick it up. when i arrived, i noticed the whole place is spotless! there were social distancing signs and covid related info as we've all become quite accustomed to over the past year but also decor and thoughtful touches in the dining room. it looked like a nice place to return to once things feel more comfortable. my orders were ready when i arrived and packaged quite nicely. one item did come in styrofoam but since the restaurant is in white center, i'm not sure if that means they don't adhere to the seattle city guidelines of more environmentally friendly take out containers. (it wasn't a deal breaker, but i certainly haven't seen styrofoam for a while.) in terms of reviewing what i ordered: the most underwhelming was the kung pao vegetables with tofu. it was very heavy on tofu and not so much on the veggies. as a matter of fact, i would rename it "kung pao tofu with vegetables." i wanted a veggie heavy dish and this wasn't it. the flavor and spiciness were also far from what i was hoping for. the #2 rolls with taro and sweet potato were really great! good vegan dipping sauce and good portion size. the special weekend vietnamese crepe was large, with tons of fresh herbs and great texture. it was a tad bit greasy which was an issue but otherwise something i'd order again. it had fake shrimp inside (see above for my thoughts on things like this) but also mushrooms and plenty of bean sprouts.) after this initial visit, i was left wanting to try more menu items but will probably stick mostly to veggie based dishes that don't have the fake meat as an ingredient. for vegans and local vegetarians who enjoy vietnamese/asian cuisine, this is a great option where freshness, courtesy and quality seem to be the main goals of the owners.

Seattle Lotus has a large vegetarian menu - i would consider it a Vietnamese / Chinese vegetarian restaurant. If you don't know what to order - the vermicelli bowl (beef and egg roll with a bunch of veggies / herbs) is fantastic and refreshing. I truly enjoyed it and plan on going back to Seattle Lotus to try more

I ordered Shrimp Spring Rolls but I got Tofu Spring Rolls. It was good!

Hi there The restaurant is be opened on this Sunday on April 4 And what time your guy closed thanks?

Hi Nhi, we are open as usual from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Are all the "meat" options veggie meat or is any of it actual meat? It doesn't seem to say anywhere. Basically I am wondering if every meal option is vegetarian friendly

Yes. It's entirely vegetarian. Apart from some condensed milk in a Thai ice tea, I believe everything else is actually vegan.

Also, they are super knowledgeable and accommodating to those of us with food allergies, which is such a huge plus. The restaurant is clean and cozy, with lively conversation and classical music in the background. What really stood out for me was that the people there are so kind and attentive, serving homemade comfort food made with love and intention. It felt like visiting family more than going to a restaurant. I'm far from my family at the moment and pretty sad about it, so it meant so much that they would take the time to make my solo dining experience special. I had a nice pot of jasmine tea that the server gave me the rest of in a go cup with a little extra hot water to make sure it was a nice temperature for my travels. They brought me a savory bowl of hot and sour soup that took the chill off the cold, rainy November night. They were making veg "crab" and cream cheese wontons, and made me a sample plate with dipping sauce that was wonderful. That's something I haven't had since becoming vegetarian so it was a treat. For my main dish, I ordered the General Tao veg "chicken" and a side of rice. The meat was juicy and of pleasant texture inside with a crispy, golden coating, paired with tender broccoli crowns and a delicious spicy chili sauce. The chili sauce they serve on the side is house made as well and is super tasty. I will return to eat on my lunch break and to have dinner with my family next time we're all in the area most definitely!

One member of the group is vegetarian, hence a reason why we ended up going to a vegetarian restaurant for our first meal during our trip. Blossom Vegetarian is located on the southwest corner of 3rd and Burnett. We came in three cars, and the lot immediately in front of the restaurant can only hold about a dozen cars. The adjacent lot has more spots, but all three of us were able to find spots easily when we arrived. That's likely because we had arrived a few minutes prior to opening, so the door was locked when I tried to open it. Right at 11 AM, an employee came out with a signicade to place in front of the front door. Shortly afterwards, we entered and sat at a table for 8, which I found kind of odd because they had tables of 4 and 8, but not 6. Our table had a sign advertising a limited time special, which was Hanoi Beef Fried Rice at the time*. However, we were interested in the lunch specials, which were available weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. Knowing that our schedule wouldn't have allowed for a lunch special any other time during our trip, we went for lunch specials, which mainly consists of rice combos. Rice combos at Blossom Cafe come with rice, either jasmine or brown, the latter of which would incur a $1 upcharge. The combo also includes an option for a juice or coffee, and if you choose either, you get $1 off. With plenty of rice combos to choose from, two of them chose the same lunch combo while the rest of us went with different lunch combos, but shared family-style with one another. I chose the Blossom Rice Combo, which consists of shredded "pork", tofu pie, "beef" skewer, and vegetables alongside a lime vinaigrette dressing. I'm not too certain of the other combos, but I do know that the Cashew Chicken was another combo, and that's because one of my groupmates heard it was their most popular dish. Since I prefer brown rice over white (jasmine) rice, I opted for the $1 upcharge for the brown rice. Between the coffee and the juice, I went with a coffee since I was needing some after a long morning of traveling. They have four choices of Vietnamese Coffee: Cheese Cafe, Cafe Latte, Dalgona Cafe, and Cafe Sua. I went with the Cafe Latte, which consists of both condensed and whole milk. The coffee drinks can come either hot or iced. For whatever reason, everybody else ordered the iced drinks, but I went with hot knowing I'd have to brave the pretty chilly weather outside. It took about 13 minutes for the kitchen to prepare our orders, and then we feasted! The coffee was ready about a minute before the main dishes arrived. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't say great, though that's probably because I'm not vegetarian. However, rest assured that all their meats aren't real meat, and this is indicated by the use of quotation marks encompassing the meat names. You can definitely tell these meats are truly vegetarian, though it took a few bites for me to discern the vegetarianism of the "beef" skewer. The brown rice tasted kind of odd. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was way different than the brown rice I'm used to e.g. Flame Broiler. The rice tasted pretty meh by itself, but exhibited a much more elevated flavor profile after adding the lime vinaigrette, which I'm thinking was actually a fish sauce. But that Cafe Latte was smoooooooooooth. Just what I needed after not getting enough z's the previous evening. Since I ordered mine hot, my coffee came in a mug while the others who ordered iced coffee got theirs in a wine glass. These coffees supplemented the glasses of water we were given when we placed our orders. Service, unfortunately, was quite slow, so exercise patience! We were the first customers to eat there, and there were a few others who came in after we did. We stayed there for over an hour even though I think we could have gotten in and out in much less time. They didn't really check on us even though there were very few other customers inside as well; I guess we were supposed to proactively go up to the counter to let them know when we were ready to order as well as pay. 2026 calendars were available for purchase at a cost of $20, cash only. I don't know how many people would constitute a "large" party, but we were considered one, which resulted in an 18% gratuity fee that was already added to our individual bills. One of our groupmates, who was fluent in Vietnamese, needed to let the server know prior to paying. So overall, Blossom Vegetarian is a decent spot for vegetarians; I just wouldn't recommend for a quick lunch break since service is nowhere near as quick. * My visit was back in November. I waited until January to post this review as I took a brief hiatus from posting reviews upon traveling to the Pacific Northwest.

My sister and I dropped by spontaneously for weekend brunch (à Saturday korning around 9:30). There was a bit of a cluster of people waiting for tables, but they were larger groups and we were seated after about 10 minutes. We ordered cocktails while pursuing the menu. My sister enjoys their mimosas and I was curious about the "My name is Earl... Grey". Good choice - dangerously so. Smooth, flavorful, well balanced. Only a light perfume of Earl Grey. We shared our entrees: the harissa carrot hummus tartine and the roasted potato and scallion waffle. (Side note: we indicated our intention to the server, who thoughtfully brought extra plates so we could do that). The tartine was delicious. Just the right amount of spread on a thick slice of sourdough. It wasn't spicy at all; the sweetness of the carrots tempered the heat. A light sprinkle of romanesco and little cubes of feta finished it off. The waffle was a surprise. Crispy, savory, a whisper of sweetness, topped with a dollop of scallion butter. Unique and very flavorful. The homemade biscuit was large and easily shareable. The cappuccinos had a good, rich aroma. A double shot is the standard serving and had sufficient flavor and kick. There were so many interesting things in the menu, making it difficult to decide. I'll just have to come back.

From that first dish, we knew that this fresh, foraged menu was going to be something different. The rest of the night was one knockout showcase of seasonal farm to table masterpieces to the next. The entire presentation was delivered by attentive wait staff putting on what felt more like a well-rehearsed play with each act starting with a wickedly creative, hand-crafted drink pairing (non alcoholic for us, but you can get wine, cider, or a cocktail) before each course. The whole vibe isn't pretentious or bourgeois; it's grateful. Everyone there including the chefs know there isn't anything like this in the city, much less the state. It was one of the more pleasant restaurant guest audiences I've ever been around too. It felt like all the nice people in the city decided to meet, so this 5-star review is for our fellow diners too.
