We took a road trip up north and hadn't eaten anything on the drive up so we were hungry. We didn't find many places we wanted to eat on this strip and we didn't wanna venture off too far since we came by for a car show. Stopped in for a quick bite. Very cute and clean restaurant. Staff was nice, but very quiet and didn't really check on us throughout our meal. We had salad rolls and the pork plate. The salad rolls were good, but very skimpy on all the ingredients inside. The rice plate was surprisingly very good. The pork was cooked perfectly and the meat was soft and tender. The marinade on the pork was hands down the best pork plate I've had at any of the Vietnamese restaurants I've gone to. My husband rarely eats pork and tried a bite and he also felt that the marinade on the pork was one of the best and most flavorful pork plates he's had. Will definitely stop by again if we are ever in the area.

Everything was great. The service was good and location was quiet. Large pho combo was amazing; Broth was flavorful and loads of meats. You get the amount you pay for. Large was $16. (Photo below is what I had left after scooping two portions out for the kids) then still having some to take home after I finished my portion. Amazing chilli oil and hot sauce. Newly decorated and lots of seating. High chair for babies were clean. Egg roll was ok not horrible; my kids love it.

Great pho! Generous portions. Atmosphere is much nicer and warmer than most pho places. Service is immediate and attentive.

Located on the busy, commercial main drag of 16th Ave SW. The parking can be tricky as you need to back into the angled parking that lines the street. The interior is nicely decorated and has a modern and warm feel. There are lots of high tables and chairs and a few regular tables and chairs. Place your order with a server at your table and then go to the counter when you are finished with your meal to pay. Ordered the following: Fried rolls - nice and crispy, filling with pork, carrot, onion, and daikon was OK and not my favorite Pho combo (large) - generous portion, packed with sliced beef, brisket, meatball, tendon, and tripe, noodles were good, veggies were fresh, broth tastes sweeter than most pho restaurants but is still tasty.

I have been coming to this location since I was a kid. Loved the original White center pho. Best broth in my opinion but it's been through a few different owners so I wanted to try this since everything was remodeled and looked so nice inside. The area definitely got upgraded. Interior is a lot brighter and more spacious than before. Service was decent. They came by rather quickly to grab our order. My bf got the brisket pho and I got steak with tripe. The broth was very aromatic and rather dark. It was a bit too sweet for my liking so I did use like two lime to cut some of it. For a reg bowl it was quite large. I barely made it half way when I started getting sick of how rich the broth was. Loved the assortment of spicy condiments on the side. It was a pretty good bowl of soup besides how sweet it was. Good place to try since it's in the neighborhood. Not sure how likely I'll be back though haha.

This place is really good! The spring rolls were good. I wish they had some more veggies in it. The broth from the pho has really good flavor. It has a lot of meat in each bowl. Good portion sizes on everything. The Pork Bahn Mi was so good as well. The meat was tender and the sauce was delicious. The services is like at most asian places. But the place is really clean and maintained. This is my new favorite spot

My parents have always said, authentic pho is made with fish sauce. I don't know if there's fish sauce in here, but this is the first restaurant in years (!) since I've seen fish sauce as a condiment on the table. All I can say is, even without adding any, the pho is delicious! The broth is adequately seasoned, and the portion size is perfect. The veggies provided are fresh, and we have an endless selection of condiments on each table.

Apsara Palace - Papaya Salad (Spicy)

Apsara Palace

I suspect they are a family business with mom as the cook, plus a son and a daughter as servers, which was the case on a quiet Sunday. The son as the server was bubbly and amicable as I asked questions about popular and favorite dishes. The food is excellent and flavorful, with plenty of leftover foods. Parking is readily available along the streets. The Food and Drinks: Beef Loklak Rice Plate, $20 - 5 Stars This is a hardy dish with flavorful pieces of beef, a fried egg, fresh greens, rice, and a bowl of soup. This dish by itself is a substantial meal. With the sides dishes we ordered, half of this went home. Lort Cha or Fried Pin Noodles with prawns, $20 - 4.5 Stars Available protein is seafood or beef. I requested prawns only, which they accommodated. Served with a side of fish sauce in a squeeze bottle, the server said to apply all over the dish. He also said this is his favorite dish. The food has very good wok hei like a Hong Kong noodle dish. I had plenty of noodles left to make a second dinner after adding veggies and protein. Beef Skewers, $18 - 4.5 Stars Five good size skewers with a dallop of pickled veggies. The seasonings are very distinctive. Oddly, the flavor reminds me of some Chinese style beef jerky. In any case, these are smoky, savory, and yummy. Papaya Salad, $16 - 4.5 Stars They use all the real, authentic ingredients here, including bits of tiny baby crabs. Be careful if you have sensitive gums. Sugar Cane Juice, $7 - 3.5 Stars I would think sugar can juice are all quite similar, but they are not. I didn't like theirs as much for some reason. It was a bit murkier. I probably won't order this in the future. Coconut Coffee, $7 - 5 Stars Our server recommended this. Coconut and coffee sound weird together, but this drink is a winner. Very unique, a touch of sweet, potent like a Viet coffee, and very distinctive. Thumbs up. They are probably closer to 4.5 Stars. Rounding up to support a family business.

We got the Phnom Penh Kuy Tiew, Seafood Lort Cha, and Beef Skewers along with Sugar Cane Juice and Mango Smoothie. My Seafood Lort Cha was delicious. It was a bit oily but having it with the fish sauce combated it. The pin noodles were so much fun and bouncy to eat. The sugar cane juice was also refreshing and it was just freshly squeezed in front of us. My sister enjoyed her Phnom Penh Kuy Tiew, it had a rich pork broth similar to eating babaw. The Mango Smoothie probably wasn't as fresh though. I didn't taste it but my mom thought it wasn't. Lastly, the beef skewers. They were not as good and seemed a bit old tasting? The meat was a bit tough and the texture seemed off. I was satisfied with my dish though and might come back if I'm ever in the White Center area again to try their Nom Banh Chok Buffet.

I was originally going to order some musubi, but after seeing a curry dish, I couldn't resist. Curry Loco Moco Don ($16) - The chef first piles a mound of rice in the bowl. It seems to be higher quality short grain rice, giving great mouthfeel at first, but then biting into it, the overcooked mushy qualities emerge. The rice is sprinkled with a bit of furikake, adding a briny and savory flavor profile. Two beef patties are set on top, both with seemingly fake grill marks, perhaps indicative of commercial patties. They are homogeneous with a kind of spongy texture, pressed into a puck with a bunch of filler like Japanese hambagu. The beef is somewhat tender, but isn't soft enough to be cut through with a plastic fork. There's a fried egg on top, complete with runny yolk and even a small amount of runny white. They then ladle a couple of scoops of Japanese curry over the top. It's somewhat generic, probably a normal boxed curry mix with no embellishment, but it's cooked well. It has a nice thickness, isn't too thin or runny, lending a good curry flavor to the dish. I do with it came with a bit more curry since after eating about half the dish, it was all gone. Finally, some pickled ginger on top completes the dish. The curry is quite filling, probably close to 2 pounds of food. (4/5) Musubi Kai is a convenient and quick stop for a bite while downtown.
