We are at this food truck when it was parked in brewery central in Ballard. Firstly, the menu is simple, which I appreciate, as it cuts down on all the decisions you have to make. This is one of my new favorite food trucks in the Seattle area. High quality food. Here's a rundown on what I've had: -Banh Mi (with pork) -- 10/10, a fantastic banh mi with a good amount of meat. The pickled veggies are fresh and the bread is soft but flaky on the outside. Will definitely be ordering again. -Kabocha Curry (with tofu) -- 7/10, tofu is very good, somewhat lackluster in the vegetable department (only a few pieces of kabocha, some green and red pepper). The sauce is a little thin for my tastes, and somewhat oily. There's decent flavor but zero heat (not that it's advertised as spicy at all, but I wish it had a little kick). Next time I will probably try it with chicken. --Cripsy Garlic Chicken (with white rice) -- 7/10, chicken itself is 10/10--perfectly crispy and juicy, and flavorful, but there's no sauce (other than what the chicken itself is coated in) and so it's just white rice and some side salad. If I were to order again I'd try this with the chili garlic noodles ($2 more) instead. --Flank steak (as a side) -- 9/10, this is normally meant to be an add-on for a banh mi, but I asked for it as a side on its own. Really yummy steak strips that are already marinated, so I just ate them straight out of the box. While they'd also be good in a banh mi, I think the banh mi is best served with the pork (though I bet tofu would work well too, assuming it's the same style of fried tofu I had in my curry) --Egg Roll (single) -- 10/10, crispy and stuffed to the brim with ground pork filling. Next time I'm getting 4! Want to try: --Potstickers --Chili Garlic Noodle TL;DR: Follow MomoXpress on IG (@momoxpressfoodtruck), look at their weekly schedule (part of their IG stories) and go when they are scheduled to be in your area and give them some business. Stopped at this food truck when it was parked across the street from our apartment. Luckily I got to it before the lunchtime rush, it certainly seems to be a popular truck. Everything was delicious, and it's nice that they take Apple Pay. They also give you the handheld buzzers to let you know when your food is ready. Momo catered a baby shower for 45 people and the food was incredible - people were raving. We had fresh tofu spring rolls, fried pork egg rolls, crispy garlic chicken, chicken and tofu banh mi sandwiches, and tofu and beef vermicelli noodles with oodles of fresh greens, fish sauce and peanut sauce. My husband discovered this by driving by the truck in Ballard, and ordered com thit nuong (rice with grilled pork), bo luc lac (shaken beef), and banh mi. The food is legit, authentic, and so tasty flavorful!! Soo much umami. Makes me miss my home Southern California. So glad they're in truck form so that I can enjoy delicious Viet food in North Seattle outside of the International District, which is a further drive. The pictures of this place look great- I mean even their Tofu looks stunning! So, I was roped in, and made arrangements to give it a shot when they were nearby my work. I suppose I will says they deserve points for being "fresh", because I waited exactly 15 minutes from the time the charge went through in my phone to the time they called my name. However, for a food truck when I'm visiting on my 30 minute lunch break, the amount of time I am left with to return to my office and actually eat was 5 minutes. I was not pleased. (There was one man in front of me.... that's it. He ordered a tofu bowl.... and he also waited 15 minutes....) I got the pineapple chicken. During the 5 minutes I had to sample my food, I found it lacking any flavor. The texture was good- the chicken not over fried or tough, but just no flavor at all. I ate the rest of my meal in bites over the next half hour, but it didn't change the flavor. I don't recommend trying this spot unless you have ample time. The egg rolls were stuffed with taro, pork, vermicelli noodles and were excellently spiced. The kabocha curry is creamy and delicious and I loved switching it up and having it with a baguette. I had a great experience with Momo Express - we brought them to our campus to cater lunch one day for a large workshop we were hosting. Their catering menu was diverse enough to meet most dietary restrictions and they were able to adapt on the fly for couple of folks that had more complicated sensitivities. Momo express was parked outside my doctor's office so I thought I'd see where they ranked on my quest for the best banh mi in Seattle. I got the lemongrass pork. The meat was really flavorful and there were ample veggies. However the bread was lacking. It was soft and chewy - I was missing the crunch you'll find at other shops in town. Bonus points for having deep fried pot stickers but demerits for them looking as if they were straight from a bag bought from Costco. read more

I was suspicious at the time but didn't want to make a scene, but I went back and checked on the menu after the fact-- I paid $6 for the gyoza which is supposed to come with six piece, but we only received 3 (tiny) pieces of gyoza. This food truck comes regularly to the parking lot of the Broadview Tap House, 125th/Greenhood. Anyway, I'm sitting here now, chillin with a beer, and I'm groovin' with a Bahn Mi (sp?) Sammy. Sometimes it's easy to to get crazy on a Yelp review of a place, but that is not my intent. Please take this as things to consider improving on. For a food truck you have a fairly diverse menu, and it all sounds SUPER tasty! The service was with a smile, and order was ready QUICK. My main thought is that the Bahn Mi, is really underwhelming. Baguette is toasted well, but try to find an artisan bakery baguette.. this looks a little like something from Hostess/Wonder bread, etc. you want CHEWY, scratch your hard palette etc. Your Bahn Mi internals are basically just chicken, cucumber, cilantro, maybe? A little onion? However... this is #1 tip!! You gotta put fried egg on it, and some kind of secret sauce! Some kinda Vietnamese secret sauce. And... yours is awfully SKINNY! Stack this thing up! It should be falling out the sides. Currently when Bahn mi is closed, you cannot see anything from the inside. It just looks like a piece of Baguette. Right now the Sammy is just chicken, cilantro, and cucumber.. it tastes SORTA like a Bahn Mi, if you dream.. but it is dry, and needs Vietnamese secret sauce. And the fried egg is like the star on a Christmas tree. OK, I'm still in your court. I will return and try something different. read more
