DELICIOUS. I had the chicken pho with a side of veggies. Couldn't stop eating past the point of full - so good! Plus they have outdoor seating covered under an awning. Want to try the vegan pho some day. Update! Been coming here for a while now. Have had the chance to try many pho spots in Seattle and this one still is one of my favorites. The ratio of noodles to broth to meat or veggies can't be beat. Every spoonful till the last drop of broth has noodles. It's really quite amazing how they do it even with the small sized bowl (which is not small at all - always stuffed afterwards). Since my last review, I have had the vegan pho and it's one of the best. Wide assortment of veggies and plenty of tofu. I switch off between the steak pho and vegan. The owner is friendly, and the seating is spaced out, allowing for good conversation. This is important when you are a hungry sniveling goblin with a loud chortle. Everything tastes correct, and fresh. I had a Vietnamese Ice Coffee that awakened ancient Goblin memories in my stinky heart. For patrons willing to go deeper than a pedestrian "Bahn Mi" or "Pho", try the Papaya Salad. It's refreshing and I recently learned uses young papaya so it doesn't taste as bitter. I enjoyed the horseradish they added to the aioli, but that may be too exotic for Goblins used to Pizza Bars and Casual Italian. For those that do enjoy the classics, they don't miss here. read more

Surprisingly the food is normally good comparative to most Vietnamese restaurants. Though, it has like a foody sticky fermented smell just like some restaurants. Bun Bo Hue was really salty but possibly because it's late night so the broth is concentrated or maybe too much seasoning. Oxtail pho is good. I like the broth. I really like the fried tofu and the sauce. It's not the typical sweet & sour sauce, I don't like. The seafood hotpot is $21.99 which is not bad for the portion. It has a lot of toppings. Great food! I have never been disappointed. Something new on the menu. If you order the Vermicelli with pork and a fried egg roll, for a dollar more, you can get the pig belly instead of the regular pork. I must say it is quite tasty! Husband ordered the Banh Mi with chicken with sweet potato fries and a Vietnamese tea. My brother got the ox tail pho. I also ordered the fried pork egg rolls. There was only one wait person. She was literally running from table to table to cashier, ti answer the phones, and to help the people with the to-go orders. She always had a smile on her face and was very apologetic to everyone. Ambiance is pretty standard. They did show a video on their TV on Vietnamese cooking. This made me hungrier watching this. I don't really care about the ambiance as long as it he food is good. I was in here once before and thought I left a review but I guess not. Last time everything was great, I got a small pho and it was good. This time the restaurant was much more put together, and their menu looked like it had some new options. I know this because anytime a menu has thai curry I gotta try it first, and I got pho last time. Well, I got red curry, and it really wasn't great. I enjoyed all the veggies it in, but the sauce just tasted like a store bough sauce packet. It didn't taste made in house. It didn't have that hint of Thai sweetness in it. It honestly tasted more like an Indian curry, which I'm not a fan of. The lady who served me seemed very nice though. I also got pork fresh rolls and asked for peanut sauce instead of the fish sauce that comes with. It was a little too runny for my preference, but that's just how I feel. It's easy to order online and it's ready in a decent amount of time, even during their rush hour. It's the only place in West Seattle that I believe has good tasting pho. They have a variety of different dishes including American Chinese food. read more

Been here a few times and it's always been very good vermicelli bowls are a good choice if you're hungry, I like the combo with short ribs, pork and shrimp. Also have tried the pho, fried rice and a few other dishes. Always good, usually we get carry out but have also had some meals there with the same friendly good service. The pho was on point. Upside: it was delicious. Flavorful, rich. Maybe not quite as rich as a true 5 star for me - but 4.5 leans into 5 and I'm gonna give it to them. Solid standard. The Bun Bo Hue (my partner got it) looked awesome. Great portions of meat and other ingredients. But the broth was pretty fishy in flavor. Not used to that. Unsure if it a a different regional variation, or just this spot. I probably wouldn't get that again. Lemongrass chicken was good. And the beer was... beer. Always good. Lol. Clean establishment, fast service. Not grossed out by the bathrooms (which is a rare win in pho restaurants, for whatever reason). I was in the mood for a good vermicelli noodle bowl without heading across the bridge to Chinatown so I gave this place a try. My GPS directed me into the Bartell parking lot...I do not recommend turning on 42nd. If you park in the angled spots at the back of the restaurant they let you walk in from the back around the kitchen. Anyways, about the combination vermicelli bowl I ordered. $12 for 2 shrimp, 2 mini egg rolls, 1 piece of beef short ribs, 4 pieces of pork on a bed of noodles and vegetables. When my bowl came, I was surprised by how my shrimp were not deshelled...I have ordered combination bowls from other restaurants before and this is the first time I've seen an establishment be so lazy and make it difficult for me to eat. On top of that, the shrimp were rotten. The first one was mushy and fell apart as I attempted to take the shell off. The second one was not any better. The other meat was not dry as another review mentioned and the egg rolls were actually crispy on the outside. The sauce provided was a little too sweet as well. I think I would come back here again if I didn't want to cross the bridge but I recommend avoiding the shrimp. read more

We have been going to the New Leaf Bistro since they opened. Then the pandemic hit and it has been two years since we patronized the restaurant. I went there recently with friends and the quality of the food is still great. I usually order the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and egg roll. 10/10! We came in on a Wednesday night at about 7:40 and they had signs apologizing for being understaffed, so our expectations were low. We ordered the young coconut, Thai iced tea, papaya salad and large beef pho with rare steak and brisket. Everything was 12/10, so delicious, so fresh, popping with flavor and textures on point. Papaya salad we got with tofu and the tofu was freshly fried with nice thin cold pieces of papaya, wonderful mixture. The young coconut was a whole gosh darn coconut with the top that had just been cut off. So fresh and yummy. Savannah was our waitress and she was so quick and nice, too. The waitress used one pair of gloves the entire time we were there. From clearing/cleaning tables to serving food. Not once did she get a new pair of gloves or wash her hands. We just moved from Pittsburgh and just simply having access to authentic Vietnamese food is a blessing! This place hit the spot. Fresh, and fast. My Wife and I both had the Bun. Pork was crispy and on point - had great flavor. My wife had chicken, and again there wasn't any leftovers. We had fresh rolls with shrimp, and it was again fresh and delicious. This is the best Pho I have found in West Seattle. We have a fav spot in the ID, but with the bridge being closed, we needed to branch out. I'm glad we found this place.
