4.5 stars Cute, cozy cafe with an earthy interior. Simple menu with some brunch and lunch items. The vegetarian biscuits & gravy ($13.5) were excellent. The latte was very tart. Also had a bite of one of the pastries (orange roll) and it was flakey and delightful!

Today was my first visit to Seward Park in many years. I had a "long drive" (stop and go traffic) and needed to take my four dogs for a walk. I was exhausted and knew I'd need a cup of coffee for my drive back home! As I attempted to look through the window with my active pups in tow, I realized quickly there was no where to safely secure the pups and go inside to grab some coffee. When I was about to walk back to my car, one of the incredible Barista/cook/employee/owner ... stepped out and offered to take my order for me!!! I was so impressed by this and his kindness and service! He went above and beyond when he noticed my struggle! Coffee and dogs and chaos! He took my order and I gave him my credit card. He made everything so easy and I truly appreciate it! His compassion and understanding helped this tired Momma make it back home with some extra energy from a yummy drink!! I highly recommend "Red Wing" coffee house/vegetarian cafe to everyone! Thank you for being so kind and the barista who brought my drinks out ... Thank you and thank you for being so helpful and understanding with my pups! I could tell this place would be a wonderful spot to talk with friends and eat a yummy meal! I'll come back another time and leave the pups at home.

I ordered the Rainer Beach Breakfast and a vanilla latte. My meal was very delicious and you can taste the freshness. I love a good vegan/GF restaurant. Services was good and great. I will definitely be back. This is the perfect spot for a light breakfast with a lot of flavor. One thing I do enjoy on my potatoes that they didn't have was syrup(pancake syrup). Usually I have to have it to go with my potatoes but the toast w/jam went perfectly with it! Great cute spacious spot! It has a upstairs and downstairs!

Perfect location near my stylist shop. Early morning appointments this is the perfect vegan options. Vegan biscuits and gravy were really good. The avocado toast was also amazing too. My husband had the non-vegan breakfast he also enjoyed. Parking can get full around the area. Will try more menu items next time.

delicious food, kind staff, and was within walking distance from our Airbnb. It wasn't too busy but had a steady stream of customers, and the baked goods looked and smelled divine. also gluten free and vegan friendly, which I appreciate.

I was at a business meeting in Tukwila and this cafe showed up on Yelp. Rainier Beach is a cute area of Seattle- I had never been! The cafe is located on a side street- parking wasn't the easiest to find. The cafe itself is super cute! Amazing back patio area with local art and comfortable tables. The two people I met - the guy cooking (thinking he is the owner) abs the girl making the drinks and running food were super nice! You felt so welcomed walking in. All the pastries were homemade- the almond croissant- OMG- soooo good!! I ordered the rancho jueovos (spelling) and my friends ordered the avocado toast- all delicious and freshly made. To top it off- the iced tea was delicious. We will be back! Highly recommend.

One of the best egg breakfast places for us is this cafe in Seattle . When we first visited Seattle, we came here randomly not knowing we would fall in love with the food. Never had anything like this in LA. Not that we have shifted here. Cant stop ourselves to come to this place now and then. They were closed for a longtime. When they did open, we were their on the first weekend itself. They have extended to a beautiful outside area on their backyard, but the food not that good as before:- Veggie Sandwich:- It comes with a side of fruit filled with cheese and veggies. It was good, fresh. Avocado toast:- Skip this one, you would find a better version someplace else. Rainier beach breakfast:- 2 eggs with toast and roasted potatoes. So their roasted potatoes are to die for when we had it for the first time but this time they were not even fully cooked. Do get their side of apple butter which is just yumm. Potatoes Rancheros:- my better half just loved this dish especially their mexican chili sauce, which sadly they have changed which tastes not even near good as before. Egg sandwich with roasted potatoes:- The eggs were baked beautifully, when you eat the sandwich as whole you can not tell that you are eating egg. Liked the sandwich. Danish pastry:- OMG this was yum. Had to stop myself to take a pic. hehe Cafe Latte:- It was good. Not too bitter. Warm cup of coffee in Seattle rain, Perfect. Cappuccino:- Nice frothy, bit bitter for me. Liked the latte more. Hot chocolate:- Emm, skip this one. Overall, this cafe is always going to be a hit spot. Service is A1, on all our visits. Pricey as compared to the quantity of food served.

Rainier Beach Breakfast with biscuit option! That jam is killer.

I'm actually not a bagel guy, nor do I ever think about them when it comes to grabbing a quick bite somewhere but this was a perfect opportunity to try it again. There was an assortment of bagels, and I got half of an everything bagel and - the one that several of my coworkers highly recommended - the rosemary bagel. Both go well with cream cheese. - The everything bagel was pretty standard; I could taste the garlic and sesame seeds throughout. Garlic was quite powerful on this one though, and I almost thought of garlic bread until I remembered bagels are harder to chew on. - My favorite was the rosemary bagel, just like my coworkers. I could taste the herbs clearly on this one; it was aromatic yet a little bitter. It was balanced with the saltiness already present on the bagel. Since I didn't go to their physical location - which looks like quite a walk from Georgetown - I have yet to see the inside of this place. Having some of their bagels makes me wanna go check it out someday!

Got them home and they were crusty with a good chew. Will be back again next time I'm in Georgetown or Beacon Hill.

I got the smashwich and fruity pebbles rice krispy. We also got the matcha shokupan donut to share. Everything was excellent. The house made sausage patty on the smashwich complemented the whole sandwich well; it was crispy, fatty with amazing flavor. Pro tip if you have the passport app you can save 20% off! Only downside - I think their space is somewhat awkward for seating and overall flow. However they are doing what they can with what they have so it's not a knock on them per se, just putting it out there that the flow is a little off especially when busy.

I wish the service was more consistent. The first cashier seemed upset and wasn't very friendly. The second when I ordered coffee was much more pleasant.

You order at the window on North side of the shop and pickup at the window on the South side of the shop. There used to be limited indoor seating but that is no more. There are, however, a couple of outdoor picnic tables which is better than nothing. Definitely a take out place. I had the original with Cheese Wiz. They double wrap the sandwich in foil and butcher paper and if you include the paper bag it comes in, you have a triple wrapped mound of yumminess! The steak is chopped finely and the Wiz is oozing all over the sandwich. They cook it to order so it is piping hot when you open it and it smells wonderful. The bun surrounds the contents pretty well but as with this type of sandwich it can get messy quickly. Definitely use caution. Always a crowd here and everyone looks happy with anticipation of the arrival of their coveted cheesesteak (especially me!). Give this place a try and you won't be sorry.

This restaurant location has been in operation for 11 years, a dream of retired NBA and local Rainier Beach native Nate Robinson, the restaurant originally was "Nate's Wings and Waffles" to provide memorable comfort food to a diverse community. The name has changed to reflect the current ownership and operation by Nate's sister Chelle and boyfriend Drae. I was drawn to the restaurant because I was looking for a traditional breakfast spot, but was challenged to find one in the area. Drae's Lake Route exceeded my expectations. It was clear that this is a destination for locals and by the steady flow of patrons this is the place to be. Good food made to order, dine-in or take out, plus choices of alcoholic or non-alcoholic speciality drinks to round out your meal. I chose the Deluxe breakfast, which comes with 3 meats (choice of bacon, pork link sausage and turkey sausage). I chose 2 thick sliced bacon strips and 1 pork link with 3 eggs over medium and (choice of cubed potatoes or grits) I chose the cubed potatoes with a buttered English muffin. My breakfast was satisfying and the refills of coffee hit the spot. I stayed long enough conversing with local patrons to transition to lunch and chose 1 pound of naked chicken wings, tossed in habernaro-pineapple sauce. My wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce provided just enough spice to liven my tastebuds. The next day I made a return visit for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I chose Ava's fish and grits plus buttered wheat toast 2 eggs over easy for breakfast plus coffee. As a son of the Southern United States, grits are a staple. My grits were cooked to perfection with a dollop of butter. I just added salt and pepper to taste. My catfish fillet was corn meal battered and was nicely seasoned. I later ordered the pork chop sandwich for lunch dressed (no mayonnaise), which comes with a choice of fries or kale salad. I chose fries. My bone-in pork chop was lightly breaded and fried on sliced white bread, old school! The sandwich took me back to my childhood, goodness like grandmother cooked, magnifique! My service over these 2 days has been fantastic. Chelle handles the front of the house and Drae handles the back of the house for a winning combination. Chelle manages the dining room with patience and top notch customer service, even calling customers by name. She is the epitome of a professional, even under pressure with numerous orders coming in near closing. Drae is friendly and an accomplished cook and car enthusiast, as seen by the decor in the restaurant. There is always a comforting tune playing and the venue has scheduled events featuring local musicians performing at their building next door. It is obvious the there is a lot going on at Drae's Lake Route. Check it out when in the South Seattle area. You won't be disappointed.

Wait I thought I did a review on this place already after having it a million times in my life! Oh…read morewell, better now than never. This place is one of my first favorites for banh mi sandwiches after the quality of those in Seattle's Little Saigon area have rapidly declined. It's also a place I've been going to since I was little, though I don't remember most of the interior changes that have occurred here if any. This place shares parking in a plaza that is absurdly strict about perfect, not-over-the-lines parking, so be warned. This place serves banh mi, drinks, pastries and a lot of packaged Vietnamese street food near the front. But forget about all that, because this is also the place where most people carry bags and bags of their baguettes, and JUST baguettes. Heck, I used to get them back then too when I was making my own banh mi sandwiches or just wanted some freshly baked bread. For a majority of my visits and this one, I got their grilled pork banh mi, which uses those same baguettes. I will say that their quality of banh mi has declined over the years, but not as hard as other places I used to have banh mi at in Chinatown. For the one I got for this review, it came with everything and was done very well. Pork was still grilled though not as much, and there was an ample amount of veggies and jalapeno peppers that I look for and thoroughly enjoy in my sandwich. It's not runny or drippy with sauce, and the baguette is the right kind of crispy each time. This is also the place that has the most consistent quality of banh mi that I've had so far over the years, so that's something I love about this place. It may not be as awesome as some other places that go above and beyond (like Saigon Drip Cafe or even Banh Mi Deluxe very close by), but I like to think of this place as a middle ground for what makes a great banh mi. Besides their banh mi, I sometimes also get their steamed buns, which have a ton of pork, a small slice of Chinese sausage and a small hard-boiled egg too. This and their sandwiches/baguettes are really good when you come here!
