Undeniably excellent brunch is the emphasis, as it should be. Yup, you find your own table Yup parking is challenging at times. Yup people ahead of you might forget to bus their table. And yup, you tip in advance (just do it if you can afford it... you'll live). But the real question is why it's so chaotic. It's because it's popular, and it's because they put all their staff behind the kitchen and it shows up in the food, tenfold; Everything out of that kitchen is consistent, quality, and well prepared. Above all -- this is Seattle. Get over yourself. If you want someone to clean up after you and service your table, you do you. Personally, doesn't bother me one bit.
We drove by here numerous of times and has always wanted to try it but it always seems so packed. I'm not a big breakfast fan so take my reviews with a grain of salt. Upon entering the restaurant, you will order at the front and proceed to find a seat. When your food is ready, you will go get it along with any utensils. So it's pretty much self-served after you order. I do see why people have issues with tipping because you're not really getting any service, other than telling the person taking your order what you want. When you're done, you bus the table yourself and clean up. Although, it can be confusing because I've seen people just get up and leave. The food was just okay, it didn't have the ooomph that would make you want to come back. Nice view, cute place to sit and chat with friends and family.
Overall the food was above average! The consistency of the hollandaise sauce could have been thicker with a little more flavor. Another downside was we did not receive a buzzer like others, so we had to check on if our food was ready so it did not get cold. If sitting with a group and ordering on different tabs, I suggest ordering at the counter all at once and notifying them you'd like to be on the same "buzzer" so your meals do not get cold if you like to wait for your friends Despite two things that are not a factor to not come by a second time- we will definitely come back for the pork belly (insane slabs!) and perfectly poached eggs. Not pictured is the coffee which were all smooth and did not have an acidic taste. We will be back next time we are in town!
The con parking is bad. The restaurant is small. The restaurant has u pay and tip first. Then u grab ur drinks, silverware, and food. So why did we tip? No wait staff. No help from the staff we even bus our own table. The only problem was the food was good. So overall I rounded up but if I could I'd give this place 2.5* not my favorite experience.
Stopped by The Stonehouse Café and it ended up being such a great breakfast spot. The setup is super casual and easy -- it's self-service and you just seat yourself, which I actually loved because it made everything feel relaxed and unhurried. We chose to sit out on the patio, which had a really great view and a nice open feel. Even though it was a little chilly outside, they had heaters going so it stayed really comfortable, which made it easy to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and take your time. I ordered an omelet and it was absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The coffee was great too, which for me is always a big part of a good breakfast place. The whole place has a really nice neighborhood vibe. Nothing overly fancy, just good food, good coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere. Sitting on the patio with the view, warm heaters, and a good cup of coffee made it a really enjoyable experience. If you're in the area and looking for a laid-back breakfast or brunch spot, this place is definitely worth checking out.
I saw videos of Stonehouse Cafe on instagram while researching for my trip to Seattle. I loved the view and the space so we went! I was really sad to find out they only do their speciality biscuits on weekends (we went on Monday) I ended up having the chicken sandwich, which was good but needed more gravy. My husband liked the Benedict he got. Servings were big! The potatoes were incredible. I don't love that it was counter service. It was just a lot to carry our food and coffee and they didn't give us trays or anything. Our coffees were also put in to go cups for some reason which made me kind of unreasonably mad.
Charming Setting, But the Food Didn't Wow Us My son and I went to brunch at the Stonehouse Café and were immediately taken with its charming, unique setting--the restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated old gas station across from a lovely water view. There's a flower-filled vintage truck out front that adds a nice touch of whimsy. They offer several seating options: indoor dining, an enclosed patio with a view of the water (where we sat, since it was chilly and rainy), and outdoor tables with umbrellas for warmer days. We were seated right away, and parking was easy in their lot--always a plus. What we ordered: * I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and a pineapple mimosa. * My son had biscuits and gravy. * We also tried to order a cinnamon roll, but they were already sold out by 10 a.m.--pretty disappointing for brunch hours! Instead, we opted for a lemon poppyseed biscuit, but it was dense and dry, and neither of us enjoyed it--definitely wouldn't recommend it. On the upside, service was fast, and my son really enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. My Monte Cristo was tasty, though the portion felt small for the price. The mimosa was fine, but nothing memorable. Overall, the best part of the visit was the setting and flowers. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress enough for me to want to return.

This is a must-go breakfast spot in the Renton area. There's a farmhouse vibe with a quirky decor and friendly staff. I recommend sitting in their lower patio for a great lake view. Everything we ordered was top notch and delicious. It's hard to pick favorites, but the chicken and waffles were outstanding. The pancakes were thick and fluffy. The bacon was probably the best we've tasted. It was thickkkk and had a great flavor. I would definitely return if I'm in the Seattle area again.
As always food is on point. The service was amazing. The young lady taking the orders was the best! She was so sweet and so helpful. It was a busy day, we went Friday for brunch. Sat outside and they had the heaters going which was nice. Never any complaints when I eat here. One of my favs to frequent. Oh and that bourbon lemonade was sooo good.

Had a wonderful girls' brunch at a spot I've always been curious about! The entrance immediately caught my attention--cars were constantly pulling in. Since the parking space is quite tight, we decided to park outside and walk in. They don't take reservations, so we walked in and were greeted by a long line! That's when I knew we found a gem, and my expectations instantly went up. After waiting about 20 minutes, we made it to the counter. When I asked the staff what a first-timer should get, they recommended the Chicken & Waffles. We ordered that, along with a mushroom omelet, chicken salad, and a side of pancakes. It had been over a decade since I last ordered Chicken & Waffles, and wow--the chicken here was incredible! No gamey flavor at all, perfectly crispy on the outside, and paired with a wonderfully chewy waffle. The maple syrup wasn't overly sweet, tied everything together beautifully. Our group was thrilled with the rest of the order, too. The salad was a big hit, and the mushroom omelet was fantastic. But the real star was the pancake--it had an amazing chewy texture with a subtle, delicious sourdough tang. Now I completely understand why this place gets so busy in the morning. The overall vibe was lovely, complete with a beautiful view of the lake in the distance. The service was laid-back and casual, fitting the warm, relaxed atmosphere. I will start by contextualizing this review with the fact that they have the biscuit board advertised on their website for November and December as a special and that I came all the way down here from the north side specifically for the biscuit board. They don't have the biscuit board, haven't had it for a while, and don't know when any of the other biscuits will be back in stock when I asked. This was really disappointing that they'd advertise this on their website only to not keep it in stock. I see now other reviewers had similar experiences. I got a scramble instead but it was mediocre. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm when it came out and my potatoes were all soggy. I didn't finish my meal except the biscuit I subbed for toast which was the only thing I enjoyed. My partner got the best biscuit sandwich and his was very good. There's no table service - you order at the counter and then find a table and bus it yourself (most of the tables needed cleaning too). The patio was cool because it was heated and you can see the lake and it's dog friendly. Would we come all the way back here for anything we ate? No. Would we recommend this place? Also no unless you're in the area and like chicken and biscuit sandwiches. read more

Was looking for a brunch place when I came across this cafe. I love that it overlooks the lake. As for food, the monte cristo caught my eye as I've never had it. Glad to say it lived up to my expectation, but I think the portions is a bit small. Not sure what the texture of the pork is supposed to be. This one was pretty tough but not too hard to chew. It's a good combo with the french toast for sure. The strawberry jam is also great to have with it, and the fresh strawberries were pretty sweet and not sour. The cafe setup is that you order food, seat yourself, and bus the table. I didn't bring my dog this time, but I saw that dogs are allowed outdoor which is great for pawrents! read more

Awesome warm place - good food, friendly folks, heated patio for your pups. It's self bussing. Was here for a dog competition. The back area that they call as the Bakery is a fun place to take Christmas pictures. It's like a cool little North Pole back there. There are a lot of food and drink options - both breakfast and lunch items. Go check it out! read more

The Stonehouse cafe is such a cute place in Seattle! The workers were very helpful and kind during our visit. I really loved how soft the biscuit was. It balanced well with the gravy. We came on a Tuesday morning, so it was empty. I'm sure they are a very popular place during peak days/hours! read more

Located right across the street from Lake Washington, beautiful views of the water from dining inside (top floor) or the outdoor patio. Patio seating does have outdoor heaters during the fall and winter season. Parking is limited but street parking is also available. Great selection of breakfast menu items (American) but also breakfast specials are offered with different cuisines. They were out of the longanisa platter but our friend had the gumbo which he said tasted good. Portions are generous. No wait service, you order food/drinks from the counter, and you're given a pager to pick up your food when it's available. This plates gets busy the weekends so expect a wait, but it's worth it. They do have events such as live music (Djs) for 90s R&B on Sundays, and even have stand up comedy during the evening about once a month. read more

Delicious food, great views, and great service. We had the chorizo scramble, delicious and the chorizo was perfectly seasoned. We also had the "Best Biscuit Sandwich" which was incredible, would be great to split as it was a larger portion. The cafe sits right on Lake Washington creating a nice environment to sit and read a book. I would highly recommend getting in early, it seems to get busy quickly. read more

The staff was very friendly and whipped up a great veggie scramble very quickly. The inside is quite eclectic and they had decorated quick aggressively for Halloween. I'm not a big Halloween person so it wasn't my favorite, but the food was very good! read more

I absolutely loved the Texas toast! The service was still great considering that you pay first and then sit down to get your food. You're right next to the lake which is nice. I got the bacon, avocado and Pepperjack omelette. I have to say it again...the Texas toast was amazing!! When I'm in Seattle again...I will return here and will try one of the egg Benedict's. read more

We just had the most amazing Easter brunch at The Stonehouse Cafe. I discovered this restaurant on TikTok with a few people posting about biscuit boards, which unfortunately they didn't have, but I'm still so glad we visited this gem. It's a charming historic building with lake views from first and second floor seating. There is a great menu with something for everyone. What made our meal so special was the Easter touches! There was an Easter Bunny walking around giving out candy to children, occasionally holding a really bunny we could pet. And when a long wait built up to get in someone walked around handing out chocolate bunnies to everyone in line. It was so cute. We will absolutely be back for great food, great views, and amazing service! read more
This place is cozy like eating at someone's house very much enjoyed dining in. It took me back to when I visited Scotland. The person at the counter was really kind and let me take my time to order my food because I wasn't quite ready. I will say that the parking is limited so that is something to keep in mind, I went on Friday and there were plenty of places to park at 11 AM. I very much enjoyed the food I ordered the potatoes were amazing. There's multiple seating options in this cabin like restaurant and the view upstairs and at the front area is quite beautiful. To keep in mind that this place is a go up to a counter and order your food and then pick it up kind of place. I will say I would've given it a five star but it's a little high on the price range. The coffee is really good! read more
