Moonlight Cafe has been my favorite Phó place in Seattle. I used to live close by and used to frequent this place whenever I wanted some Phó. The restaurant itself is nice but could use some updating for the price you're paying for their food. I was a little worried because the bathroom looked recently renovated but still looked like it needed work. It didn't have a soap dispenser and the soap they offered was a soap bottle that was all used but had water added to it and actually was out. I was barely able to get some to wash my hands. When you 1st walk in you'll notice that they use a table to the left as prep space (which is interesting). We both enjoyed our Phó (1 chicken the other a combo) as well as their fried wontons. One thing I couldn't get over is how much the prices have increased. Granted it's been 10 years since the last time I've visited but a 180% increase is quite the sticker shock. I haven't seen this much of an increase at restaurants here in Houston (been in Houston since leaving Seattle) so it was quite a shock. Overall the food and service are great.

There's a small parking lot shared with others. The cafe was no frills with a karaoke setup which may have a busy crowd on the weekends. Service was pretty slow - dishes came out one at a time instead of all together. Additionally, there was a bit of wait in between dishes. I got the black pepper beef and although the dish was tender and flavorful, it was on the pricier end. The dish as $26 and if you wanted rice, that was an additional $4. After tax and tip, it was almost $40. I will say the flavors are okay. I tried my friends lemongrass dish and it was good as well but on the moist end.

Moonlight is the kind of place that is always good- I've been coming here since I was little and have never been super disappointed. The worst thing is the wait but it's always worth it. Popped in at 8pm and ordered bun rieu and it was so good, I was pretty bummed at the wait since our food came at 8:30/40...but it was so flavorful that it was worth it.

For $20, the grilled chicken garlic noodle chow mein is amazing! Service was good as well; friendly people here.

Great customer service, the food is 7/10 HORRIBLE PRICE! THEY CHARGED US $6 for a soup (no protein) This is unacceptable! Literally feel like we just get ripped off! Also, 3% for credit card surcharge!

Build your own pho half way finished and lemonade.

Loved the broth! So delicious, very kind service, waitress was pleasant when I asked her to repeat the question of if I wanted thick or thin noodles as I'm hard of hearing. Delicious lemonade. Parking lot whoop whoop, not very common in Seattle. As it gets colder definitely consider coming here for a warm soup, I hear the restroom door doesn't lock easily so consider using the bathroom at home or your next destination but nowhere can be perfect (and it might just be fixed by the time you're considering coming here and reading my review). Seating is nice and spacious, finally a place I don't feel like I'm sitting on people's laps to eat or constantly getting bumped into. Music isn't overpowering or loud, nice low volume. I also wanted to add that the food and drinks seemed a fair price to me with Seattle pricing, I also came on a Saturday at 6pm and had very prompt service, no delays with food arrival outside of regular expectations.

*vegan review* Love this place!!! The vegan menu is HUGE and everything I've had has been fantastic. BEST VEGAN BANH MI IN SEATTLE (vegan banh mi). Highly recommend!!!

If there were 10 stars I would give them! This place is awesome. A dependable standby. I go here at least once a week. I sit and read a book and enjoy something different each time from their menu. They have full vegan and a full non-vegan menus. Lots of awesome variety! Never had a single bad dish. I often bring a to-go container from home so I can take my leftovers and have another meal another day. It is a decent bargain. Friendly folks, ample seating, and great projector videos of life / farming / cooking in South Asia. Absolutely outstanding place. It is my go-to!

First timer with a low scored rating but willing to give this place another try, and order other item(s) on the menu. Was seated immediately and the two ladies working the floor are doing their best so be patient! I ordered the (vegan) sandwich combo. I chose the mushroom and tofu sandwich with (4) gyozas and Thai iced tea. I think I'll pass on the Thai iced tea but everything else was delicious. The gyozas were the perfect texture/crunchy and the banh mi was flavourful and packed! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Also, shared the (vegan) veggie fried rice with my pops. We both agreed it could've been booked with less oil but overall, it was delicious!! The minor dislikes won't discourage another visit. I'll be back :)

This place has some of the best vegetarian meat I have gotten. Every time I have to ask if it is vegetarian when it comes because of how convincing it is. We always get the sesame beef and it always is spot on. The crispness and juiciness of the protein is wonderful and the vegetables are perfectly cooked. Combined with a side of rice and it is a great ratio between the sauces/juices of the dish and rice to soak it up. It is also a good portion too. My wife and I shared one and were perfectly content with the amount of food. They start you off with some good tea on the house that is a good palette cleanser and nice way to start your meal especially on a cold wet day. The service is nice and quick as well and are very knowledgeable. Overall a great place for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike.

An amazing piece! We have lived in this neighborhood for four years and their food has only gotten better! We have a daughter with a serious gluten allergy (celiac) and they always make accommodations from their menu for us to make the dish gluten free. Fresh, complex flavors, consistently delicious... we have decided that it is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the ID zone although they are just east of the official ID, they beat them all!

i cant believe i have been sleeping on this spot!!! i have been on the hunt for a new vietnamese/pho restaurant and this is it!!! theyve got it all! their menu is huge and caters to both vegeterians and carnivores alike! i ordered their egg rolls to share. i do think $8 for 2 is a bit steep but it was fried to perfection, soooo crispy, and had a really good filling. i also ordered the bun bo hue and havent tried one here yet, and i was not disappointed at all! its not spicy and had such wonderful, hearty, warm broth! there was a generous amount of noodles as well as slices of meat. i also ordered the combo vermicelli bowl. the portion was huge, big enough to share probably. nothing too special about it but it lived up to my expectations! service was good, and staff was attentive! i would come back to try more traditional vietnamese food! and maybe do some karaoke?

    They are finally re-opening again

One member of the group is vegetarian, hence a reason why we ended up going to a vegetarian restaurant for our first meal during our trip. Blossom Vegetarian is located on the southwest corner of 3rd and Burnett. We came in three cars, and the lot immediately in front of the restaurant can only hold about a dozen cars. The adjacent lot has more spots, but all three of us were able to find spots easily when we arrived. That's likely because we had arrived a few minutes prior to opening, so the door was locked when I tried to open it. Right at 11 AM, an employee came out with a signicade to place in front of the front door. Shortly afterwards, we entered and sat at a table for 8, which I found kind of odd because they had tables of 4 and 8, but not 6. Our table had a sign advertising a limited time special, which was Hanoi Beef Fried Rice at the time*. However, we were interested in the lunch specials, which were available weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. Knowing that our schedule wouldn't have allowed for a lunch special any other time during our trip, we went for lunch specials, which mainly consists of rice combos. Rice combos at Blossom Cafe come with rice, either jasmine or brown, the latter of which would incur a $1 upcharge. The combo also includes an option for a juice or coffee, and if you choose either, you get $1 off. With plenty of rice combos to choose from, two of them chose the same lunch combo while the rest of us went with different lunch combos, but shared family-style with one another. I chose the Blossom Rice Combo, which consists of shredded "pork", tofu pie, "beef" skewer, and vegetables alongside a lime vinaigrette dressing. I'm not too certain of the other combos, but I do know that the Cashew Chicken was another combo, and that's because one of my groupmates heard it was their most popular dish. Since I prefer brown rice over white (jasmine) rice, I opted for the $1 upcharge for the brown rice. Between the coffee and the juice, I went with a coffee since I was needing some after a long morning of traveling. They have four choices of Vietnamese Coffee: Cheese Cafe, Cafe Latte, Dalgona Cafe, and Cafe Sua. I went with the Cafe Latte, which consists of both condensed and whole milk. The coffee drinks can come either hot or iced. For whatever reason, everybody else ordered the iced drinks, but I went with hot knowing I'd have to brave the pretty chilly weather outside. It took about 13 minutes for the kitchen to prepare our orders, and then we feasted! The coffee was ready about a minute before the main dishes arrived. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't say great, though that's probably because I'm not vegetarian. However, rest assured that all their meats aren't real meat, and this is indicated by the use of quotation marks encompassing the meat names. You can definitely tell these meats are truly vegetarian, though it took a few bites for me to discern the vegetarianism of the "beef" skewer. The brown rice tasted kind of odd. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was way different than the brown rice I'm used to e.g. Flame Broiler. The rice tasted pretty meh by itself, but exhibited a much more elevated flavor profile after adding the lime vinaigrette, which I'm thinking was actually a fish sauce. But that Cafe Latte was smoooooooooooth. Just what I needed after not getting enough z's the previous evening. Since I ordered mine hot, my coffee came in a mug while the others who ordered iced coffee got theirs in a wine glass. These coffees supplemented the glasses of water we were given when we placed our orders. Service, unfortunately, was quite slow, so exercise patience! We were the first customers to eat there, and there were a few others who came in after we did. We stayed there for over an hour even though I think we could have gotten in and out in much less time. They didn't really check on us even though there were very few other customers inside as well; I guess we were supposed to proactively go up to the counter to let them know when we were ready to order as well as pay. 2026 calendars were available for purchase at a cost of $20, cash only. I don't know how many people would constitute a "large" party, but we were considered one, which resulted in an 18% gratuity fee that was already added to our individual bills. One of our groupmates, who was fluent in Vietnamese, needed to let the server know prior to paying. So overall, Blossom Vegetarian is a decent spot for vegetarians; I just wouldn't recommend for a quick lunch break since service is nowhere near as quick. * My visit was back in November. I waited until January to post this review as I took a brief hiatus from posting reviews upon traveling to the Pacific Northwest.

From that first dish, we knew that this fresh, foraged menu was going to be something different. The rest of the night was one knockout showcase of seasonal farm to table masterpieces to the next. The entire presentation was delivered by attentive wait staff putting on what felt more like a well-rehearsed play with each act starting with a wickedly creative, hand-crafted drink pairing (non alcoholic for us, but you can get wine, cider, or a cocktail) before each course. The whole vibe isn't pretentious or bourgeois; it's grateful. Everyone there including the chefs know there isn't anything like this in the city, much less the state. It was one of the more pleasant restaurant guest audiences I've ever been around too. It felt like all the nice people in the city decided to meet, so this 5-star review is for our fellow diners too. The only thing missing was a moment for the chefs to take a bow at the end, but instead they sneaked out the door, off to wherever superfoodie heroes go after a night of saving palates. #salute.

My sister and I dropped by spontaneously for weekend brunch (à Saturday korning around 9:30). My sister enjoys their mimosas and I was curious about the "My name is Earl... Grey". Good choice - dangerously so. Smooth, flavorful, well balanced. Only a light perfume of Earl Grey. We shared our entrees: the harissa carrot hummus tartine and the roasted potato and scallion waffle. (Side note: we indicated our intention to the server, who thoughtfully brought extra plates so we could do that). The tartine was delicious. Just the right amount of spread on a thick slice of sourdough. It wasn't spicy at all; the sweetness of the carrots tempered the heat. A light sprinkle of romanesco and little cubes of feta finished it off. The waffle was a surprise. Crispy, savory, a whisper of sweetness, topped with a dollop of scallion butter. Unique and very flavorful. The homemade biscuit was large and easily shareable. The cappuccinos had a good, rich aroma. A double shot is the standard serving and had sufficient flavor and kick. There were so many interesting things in the menu, making it difficult to decide. I'll just have to come back.

I got the Sodo Breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, arugula, tomato and cayenne aioli (not overly spicy) with a side of cheddar grits like many reviews recommended! The grits of course were the star of the show! They came out pipping hot, very creamy with a little bit of chives on top! My husband loved them too and ended up eating half. The sandwich was also very good with the right amount of aioli and tons of fresh arugula. The bread was nice and soft and let's just say there was nothing left on my plate when I was done. I even convinced my husband to join me and order something. He was very skeptical that there was no meat, but thanks to the yelpers I knew exactly what to recommend that would meet his taste (and bonus...I really wanted to try lol). He got the fresh baked, made daily cinnamon roll! That baby came out hot, smelling amazing, and full of cream cheese icing!!! He devoured it and so did I! His vote for best item went to the grits but I tend to lean more toward the cinnamon roll!
