44. Pho Chicken and Beef Fried egg rolls Pad Thai Chicken
Ara M.

Pho was great taste service is great clean restaurant.Pad Thai was good just a little different flavors.

#33. Banh Mi with complimentary broth, tea, and water.

Amazing food and service, never felt so at home with their ambiance. Everyone needs to eat here now

45. Pho Ga (flavorless)
Christina M.

I accidentally ordered from this Thanh Vi rather than my usual (U District). After reading the reviews, I prepared myself for the worst. And while it wasn't quite that bad, it also wasn't very good. The chicken was ice cold when it arrived. The broth didn't smell very flavorful but I was hopeful (despite numerous reviews to the contrary), and pumped it full of sriracha and hoisin. To no avail, it seems. The broth is eternally flavorless. It's edible and there was a ton of shredded chicken, which won it the 3 stars, but there's no way I'll order from here again. Half my interest in pho is the broth and this lacked on all fronts, especially for the price point.

Shrimp and pork bun

Parking can be tricky despite a shared small parking lot, but the food is worth a stop. Huge portions, plenty of seating, quick service, good value and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of flavors, fresh ingredients, and really tasty and juicy meat. Got my usual pork and shrimp bun and was already craving more as I polished off my bowl. Note we sat at the table for a while before I realized they don't bring you the check (or rush you out the door) so you pay up front before you leave.

Spring rolls!

We came here on Labor Day Monday around 8 pm. I swear most of the Vietnamese restaurants around the area were closed. We wanted something cheap and quick and settled on this spot. At first I wasn't too excited because of the ratings, but I am so glad we went! They had the best smoothies/bubble tea drinks! Too bad they were out of boba, but the jelly they added to our blended mango and papaya smoothies was yummy! They also add the crispy stick in the spring rolls! Peanut sauce was a lil runny though. We ordered: - beef bahn mi - vermicelli bowl - spring rolls - mango jelly bubble tea - papaya jelly bubble tea It was all good! Will need to try their pho next time, it was too hot to try it Monday lol

Best pho in Seattle. I come here once a week, and it's the best hangover cure. They have a huge menu and everything that I've ever had is always a hit. I also loveeee the fresh rolls -- they have the fried wrapper in it so you get some nice texture and the peanut sauce is perfect. I also really like the banh xeo here. The service is also speedy and servers are very kind.

Thanh V Rice dishes.

Thanh v rice combo. Their egg cake (ch trng ) was cold, and their shredded pork skin (bì) was like clear noodles and cold as well. Their sugarcane shrimp doesn't taste right at all, it was like egg wrapped sugarcane. Not worth the price of $12 or $14 with tax. Go to Vietnam house is better. I wish I went there. Never go here again. Their service was okay, no complain.

Best Vietnamese we've had since moving to WA! As my pics show we ordered many of our "old go-to's" so we would be able to give a fair assessment. Of course they've got take home containers! A clean comfortable friendly environment greeted us. Noticeable "take-out" business which is a plus. The menu is impressive covering all desires for the Vietnamese tastes. We did note that the "sauces" (peanut, fish) and Pho broth were somewhat mellow/muted in flavor for what we're accustomed to. The "noodles" are rice vermicelli and were good. The fried rice was very good and the seafood/meats were good quality and well presented. The only big disappointment was the Cha Gio, sadly it was flavorless and dry.

Cockroach in pho broth

Please do not order from here. I ordered to-go and my pho broth had a cockroach in it. Luckily I noticed it , how disgusting. I also ordered a banh mi but I threw that out too. One cockroach means more cockroaches...

Pho Dac Biet at Thanh Vi.
Mike M.

Needing a recovery meal a day after a party, I decided to go to Thanh Vi for some pho. I ordered their pho dac biet which includes thin sliced steak, well done steak, beef tendon, tripe, & meatball. Being presented w/ the dish & trying the pho, it was honestly very disappointing. No matter how much hoisin sauce I drenched into the pho, it didn't make it any better. I almost wanted to throw up after eating it. In my opinion, this by far has to be one of the worse pho I have ever had. Coming here to recover, only to leave needing more recovery.

Pork hotpot w/ grill pork bun bowl!!
Brianna F.

I've ordered delivery from here a few times, but last night was the first time I dined in. The food is pretty tasty. Five stars mostly for the huge portion sizes!! Their hotpot is listed as large enough for two, but I'm pretty sure it's enough for three or four people. We had each ordered an entree plus a hotpot to share and it was wayyyy to much food! (Which definitely is not a bad thing!) Will definitely be back to dine in again!

I have had a llllllllllloooooooooooong history w/ this place! Been going here since the early 90s. So many memories.. the big broken rice plates they used 2 have for $5 back in the day w/ huge portions of egg cake, pork chop n they used 2 have tomato slices that came w/ it.. how this place used 2 have a level higher than the floor in the back, the light blue uniforms 1 of the most recent owners implemented, the renovations, the different owners this place had, probly went thru 3 or 4 since then.. w/ each owner, 1 after the other diminishing the quality of the food @ this place.. (yes, different owners bring different cooks n systems n times r different, 1 can make that argument).. the previous owner left 2 open up Origins here on Downtown 2nd Avenue.. @ 1st that place was good, but their quality is suffering as well but getting back 2 the current state of this restaurant.. it is just a shadow of its former glory self this time, it did not help.. when I come here, I usually order their broken rice dish, but I tried their beef stew instead, hoping it will b good, but it fell way short as well.. the dish had nice aroma 2 it, but the dish needed more flavor n it contained 2 much fatty meat n not enough lean portions of beef that tenderly flake off.. quite sadly, the baguette was the only highlight of it the iced coffee was ok I had some pork chop n egg cake from my mother's dish of broken rice n the pork was overdone, the cake needed more flavor service was decent restroom was clean b4 Yelp n during its "Glory Days", this place was supreme.. now it is just a place 2 reminisce of the good times past

I am super picky about Vietnamese food so it was great to find this place. Really enjoyed the food, which is rare for most of the places I've gone to around the Seattle area. There was nothing that I tried, that I didn't like. Also they have a parking lot, which is very helpful to find free parking in the International District! Both the waitress & the owner/manager seemed very friendly. Please note that this is NOT affiliated with the Thanh Vi in the University District, completely different place. I hope you will take a look at my photos of all the yummy food and drink we had. It's hard to say what my favorite was: possibly a tie between the spring rolls or one of the beef dishes. Prices are also pretty reasonable :)

She was very sweet about it, though. I'd definitely come back and eat here again.

It's still a solid spot for me even two years after I first tried it. I normally get the regular pho tai with a cup of jasmine tea (which is only $2)! Service is exceptionally fast and was sat immediately - the staff are very kind. I did not take a picture of it but I ordered a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and shrimp fresh rolls to go after my visit. They were both very flavorful and I recommend anything off their menu - it's delicious and worth the effort to dine in but not the right place if you want to chit chat and dilly dally. There's plenty of parking outside in the strip mall which shares a lot with QFC. Seating is limited and there are often wait times around peak meal hours, recommend going 1-2hrs off those times to have a better chance at getting sat sooner! 10/10 recommend

Each visit left me feeling like I had wasted both my time and money. I've had both the Pho Dac Biet and Pho Saté, and each broth fell short for different reasons. The noodles were oddly overcooked and clumped together in both bowls. While the presentation is appealing, the flavors lack depth and both dishes were noticeably oily. The meat portions were sparse, and the pricing does not justify the quality or quantity of the food. There are simply too many better pho options in the area at this price point.

We heard amazing things about this place from our Vietnamese family members so we decided to check…read moreit out when we were in the area. Although the food is good, I can't confidently say I'll be back. Food & drink: (4/5) We had a great start with the calamari with salted egg yolk sauce. The squid was very easy to chew through with almost zero resistance and the batter was incredibly light and crispy. The sauce was pretty light on the salted egg yolk flavor. I found that if the menu hadn't said so, I wouldn't have known it was anything other than a spicy mayo. For our entrees, I got the BBH and my partner got the banh hoi platter. The BBH is definitely one of their must try items. The broth was extremely flavorful and the meat was sooo tender. I just with they included shredded banana blossom since that's a pretty essential topping to have on BBH. It does also have more meat to noodle ratio than most BBHs I've had, so that's something I would keep in mind before ordering. My partner thought the banh hoi platter was a bit disappointing. He said the banh was dried out and the proteins such as the shrimp on sugarcane were a bit bland. He also said he wished they included scallion oil. To wash it all down, I got a kumquat jasmine tea. It definitely ran on the sweeter side but was no issue since I just poured some of my water in it to dilute the drink. Service: (5/5) Outstanding service! We were served by two different people and they were both incredible throughout our entire dinner. Other notes: In most cases, I would leave a review like this at four stars. I'm subtracting one star because I believe there are some management issues based off what I observed just from sitting in. For the most part this place seems to be severely understaffed. When we came to dinner, it was a full house with a line forming but they only had two servers running the entire floor, including those eating outside. To say they looked stressed is an understatement. As we were paying, they thanked us for being kind customers in a way that made it seem like they realllyyy needed some kindness.

The custard duck egg is an excellent starter, with a rich, savory broth that delivers a deep, yolky umami punch. The radicchio pudding was light and offered a clean, almost grassy brightness without being overwhelming in flavors. Great option for any vegans at the table. The wagyu beef tallow fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. Ultra-crispy, perfectly thick-cut, and deeply flavorful with beef notes shining through, without being too heavy. Like many of the dishes here, perfectly balanced in flavor. The grilled eggplant with whipped tofu and crispy sun chokes was another standout. The tofu whip was so smooth and should be considered a worthy sub for mayo. The eggplant was soft, creamy, and perfectly charred. The garlic rice was incredibly savory and maybe my favorite version of it yet. Packed with the perfect depth of garlicky flavor and seasoning. Finally for dessert - I thought the durian fruit cup was decent, it's great for durian lovers but next time I will be back to try their other desserts. The hollow bread is a must-try. It's fried to perfection, the inside is steamy and the butter it comes with is perfect but the bread alone is so good that it doesn't need it. The perfect touch of roasted sesame.
