Delicious Arabic gyro sandwich! I like this place is easy to find with plenty of free parking. It's near the Ross and inside the book store with indoor table seating. You bus your own table. Service is super friendly with happy staff serving with smiles. The staff seemed in an amazing mood and all laughter. They were still working hard serving many to go orders. I like seeing them take pride in their work. I ordered hummus to go and an Arabic gyro sandwich for dine in. The gyro was tasty and fresh. The lamb was so flavorful and cooked well. My shawarma reviews continue to a second place in a week (Last week was Syrian Wrap). This time, I stopped by Lake Forest Town Center, and inside, there is Gyro Boss (it's not visible from the outside) in between the Honey Bear and Dumpling Generation. Upgraded my shawarma to the Arabic version which had a decent amount of veggies both fresh and pickled. The wrap was packed and held together well, and this was one tasty version! Gyro boss has been my go to meal post long run for the longest time. I come here basically every Sunday after just to get my lamb and beef shawarma plate to go and enjoy at home. Really friendly and really delicious. Vegan sections of their menu are clearly marked with several options between sandwiches and plates, plus salads and sides. I had the cauliflower pita (fried cauliflower with tahini, hummus, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and pickle), and J. had the baba ghanouj sandwich (with tomato, cucumbers, and lettuce). Both were absolutely wonderful. Bigger than we expected, but so flavorful we licked our plates clean. The baklava looked really good but we were too full. Maybe we should have ordered it to go. Lake Forest Park Shwarmara! Yay! Other family members had tried Gyro Boss Mediterranean Grill recently and recommended we go there for a quick lunch so we did. We had the most pleasant encounter with the man behind the counter. I think his name was "Mo"? He was super friendly and remembered my wife and daughter from a previous visit. He comped us one lentil soup and some roasted cauliflower which was super nice. I love the lentil soup here, it's thick and flavorful. I had the Lamb & Beef Shawarma, my wife had the Chicken Shawarma and our daughter had the Falafel Salad and a couple of lentil soups. I tried a falafel and it was perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. Very similar to a hush puppy!). The shawarma plates came with a small Greek Salad and some wonderful hummus with kalamata olives and oil and the meat over some wonderful yellow rice. Sooooo yummy! I was very pleased that the gyro meat was shaved off the spit and served piping hot. I've had it at other places where the meat was either cold or lukewarm. They know what they're doing here! Worth the hype, the guys here are super friendly and the food is bangarang. From the falafel to the kebabs to the HUMMUS (my god the hummus), it's all so juicy and flavorful. Just to note the yellow rice has whole cardamom pods in it as that's very traditional but be careful of those landmines if you're not ready for a big pocket of spice! My go-to here is the combo kebab plate with beef+chicken which also nets you their god-tier hummus and some pita to make your own little wraps if you want. But everything is great. The service is friendly and quick, and the staff told me they make everything on the menu in house except the pita bread! I ordered the extreme mixed vegetable plate, which was $20 after tip. It comes with crispy falafels, dolmas, roasted cauliflower (also so good!), salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, and pita bread. So much food, and super delicious. My favorites were the falafels and cauliflower. This was a great 2 meals for me for a good price. I loved their hot sauce, I recommend asking for some.
