Farm to Table! When…read morevisiting Whidbey Island, do yourself a favor and book a dinner at Orchard Kitchen. Come alone, with a date, or with a group to enjoy one of the restaurants' communal dining experiences. The menu changes with the seasons and on a weekly basis. Each course is perfectly prepared with the best locally grown and sourced ingredients. My mouth is watering just thinking about the dinner my husband and I enjoyed.

Located on a farm on Whidbey island this restaurant is truly farm to table-sourcing produce from their farm and the island to serve a menu of what is in season. Our menu featured an amazing eggplant croquette, a roasted oyster, a panzanella with the most amazing fresh tomatoes, a fresh pesto pasta, the most tender lamb (hogette) of your life, a cheese course and a wonderful blueberry tart to close it out. Everything was great. It is a single setting, based on the weather you can be outside, in the barn or in the kitchen. The setting on the farm is just perfect. Service is always excellent. It is a 3 hour experience but very well paced. The servers all seem experienced and that they enjoy working there. They are also very community connected and community minded. So great to support a business like this. It is expensive but well worth it. A MUST if you love food and are visiting Whidbey.

We got to our reservation a little bit early and went on a pre-dinner garden walk, which included sampling multiple items in the garden, which kind of set the mood for the night. Right before heading out for the garden walk, we had an amuse bouche style bite. Once we were done with the garden walk, we sat at our table which was a communal table, which had two other couples, and we all three became very acquainted with each other by asking questions and given a background of who we are. As you can tell by the menu in the picture that I have posted that it was a very great listing of food items that were prepared for our evening and the pictures do not speak justice the flavor that was represented My wife really loved the Fieldhouse as I love the sunshine daydream. As the Fieldhouse was number two on my list, the tomatoes were 100% out of this world and were very flavorful. The place is always clean and organized and the staff is very friendly and helpful as well as they make sure that your time being spent there is 100% worth it. Ask for the recommendation I usually tell people I highly recommend a place but this place is a number one place. I tell people about if they want to have a romantic evening or special event plan that is surrounded by food and wine and good company. This place is a hands-down top-tier in Washington state. Thank you Chef Chris and GM Jack. As a sidenote, during the pre-dinner garden walk. I walked up to the general manager, Jack and told him how much I enjoy this place previously and his memory was on point of three years ago and remembered exactly where we sat and what I did for a living and everything ,100% surprising and it set the mood that the people here care about everybody.

The reservation is for 7pm but you can arrive as early as 615pm to explore the gardens, wine cellar, and library, as well as get a welcome (non-alcoholic) refreshing beverage. All of the staff were introduced and they explained both the food menu and the wine pairings. During the meal, there's a live guitarist playing classical takes on tunes. Everyone is super polite, they commented on my Labubu and their custom (hand knit!) hat - shoutout to Rosalee for the Labubu hat. Here's the menu and the pairings. My thoughts were that the peas stood out but otherwise it was a forgettable meal. The space is nice and the ingredients are high quality, but I don't know if the price was fully justified by the overall experience. I think it was like $325/person plus service and tax fees? Both were very large portions and perfectly delicious. We paired the salads with the Gougeres - light and flavorful. There was a comfortable vibe, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Something I'm seeing more and more of lately is gender-neutral rest rooms, including here. I find general-neutral rest rooms to be brighter, cleaner, and better maintained. I'm not sure why that is but it's an absolute pleasure every time I go to an establishment that has one.

They have a cover band on Wed and we are planning to go back next week for that. I really loved their fries. Fresh, crispy, and just the right amount of salt. Margaritas were so tasty! My friend ordered another one right before the end of happy hour but was only about 1/3 of the way through her current one and they waited until she was finished about 20 min later before they brought her next one and still gave happy hour pricing. Most of the time I have the experience that they just stack the drinks. Kept water replenished, too. Their bathrooms are light and bright and the sink is outside the rooms. I loved that the sink water was slightly warm. Always a huge plus for me as my hands are often cold. Would definitely go back here and anticipate doing so next week!
