Have wanted to visit here for a long time and finally did so recently. It is a wonderful little restaurant with a great Bavarian feel, very clean and good parking options. Stopped in for a lunch with family on this most recent visit to Europa. They offer a couple of dishes that don't include meat, but it's mostly a pork heavy menu. Lots of Polish and German dishes and of course, beer. 'Cause what's a German meal without a German beer? Wait to be seated, on this visit the waitress/hostess let us pick the table of our choice. There were a couple other guests seated when we arrived for an early lunch. The decor is rustic and homey. The menu is a variety of schnitzels and a few more 'standard' items if you are not into the European cuisine. Portions here are quite large and most of us took food home. I added a 'green salad' to my sauerbraten which is a light, iceberg lettuce based side with feta and dried cranberries. The meat was tender and lean. My SO had his schnitzel and a liter of beer, which is what he gets most times, but not always. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Parking is behind the building. Restrooms are in a short hallway off the dining area, are large, clean and wheelchair accessible. No steps to get into the building. Guten apetite. read more

My family and I were staying in Seattle for a few days and were trying to find a restaurant for dinner that everyone could enjoy. We love good European food, especially Polish food. We stumbled upon this page on yelp and thought it may be a good fit. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and it was not very busy. We were quickly seated and brought drinks. I as well as my sister and mom ordered the polish platter, my step dad the reuben and my son just wanted spaetzel with butter and cheese which they happily obliged. We also ordered pierogies for the table as well as pretzels. The food was done in about 10-15 minutes. The food was amazing. The pierogies were freshly made and served with sauteed onions. I do wish they came with sour cream as well. The cabbage roll was wonderful. The sausage very flavorful and perfectly cooked. I am not a mustard person, but I actually enjoyed the mustard as well. My son loved his spaetzel and devoured it quickly so he had a pretzel as well. All of the food was fantastic. The service was great as well. It was very welcoming and we had one of the best meals of our trip at Europa. read more

The hangover soup was fantastic!!! And I really loved their hard rolls that come with the soup. Nothing more perfect on a cold day. We also recently shared a Reuben sandwich. It was huge! Easily able to share it. The bread, meat, cheese ratio was fantastic. The white bread was perfect! Sadly the sauerkraut was not crunchy nor strong tasting and I wished I could have tasted it more. But the temperature was hot hot hot and spot on. Although it may have melted the Thousand Island dressing a bit too much. Regardless I will be back for more soup!!! read more

Super stoked we found this gem!!! While vacationing with family before a cruise, we found this spot on Yelp and decided we needed to drive and visit this lovely restaurant. I am always looking for legit polish and European food and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food!!! Let me start with saying the service was stellar. The waitress/hostess was super helpful and kind especially with dietary restrictions! The decor and building were also fabulous, love the European feel. However..... the food was really a 5/10 for both of us. Hangover soup was wonderful Borscht, tasted old and meat was so dry, even in the soup. Potato salad over salted and nothing special Cabbage rolls okay, not a lot of flavor, brown gravy, salty and nothing special in any way. Wiener schnitzel portion size was large, meat kind of dry. Cucumber salad yummy! Mashed Potatoes tasted like cafeteria food. It may be because we came for lunch, maybe dinner is better? We will try it again just because the service was so great. read more

In my humble opinion, Europa is the best restaurant in the Lake Sawyer area. The ambiance is like walking into a family restaurant in Germany or Austria. The food and the service are consistently awesome. I especially love their Royal Pork Chop, The spatzle and the cucumber salad are also my favorite accompaniments. I haven't tried the sauerkraut, but my family says it's the best they've ever had. Try it. You'll love it. read more

Wanting to have some German food so we trekked on over to Black Diamond to check out the food here. It was actually "Linner" as we arrived around 2 pm so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The decor and ambience had hunting lodge vibe with wood interior and a fireplace-quite nice! Our server was very nice and helpful with the menu choices-patient too as we couldn't decide what to get for the longest time. One disappointment though-we had read about the pork shank in other reviews and was set on trying it. Alas, it wasn't available til mid June. I think the frikdeller was the favorite- kind of like highly seasoned meat loaf. You had a choice of sides which I chose pickled cucumber and potato dumplings. We also ordered the jager schnitzel and the sauerbraten as well as the spätzle. We were disappointed with the sauerbraten. It was dry and not very tender. It was a skip. The jager schnitzel was tender- we would order that again. Overall, it is a nice place to get German food but I'm not sure I'd make a long trek to eat there. read more

It's said, Service can make or break an experience. I went to Europa, alone. The server didn't look all that pleased that I was a party of one. She found a table, in the back corner. After sitting, I saw there were several other tables in a section on the other side of the restaurant that were empty. There were only three other tables, that I saw, in the main dining area occupied. It was not busy, and there was another server. The main dining area was cute. Almost a European air. There was German music playing softly. Cuckoo Clocks on the wall tried to lend an authentic feel. After seating me, a few minutes later, not approaching or addressing my table directly, she popped head around the corner of the doorway and asked what I would be drinking. I said, "Water". Then she queried, "you know what you'll be ordering"? I asked her, "Sauerbraten or Rouladen", trying to gauge which would be the better option. She gave a sneer and said, "I don't know". Well, that told me everything about how this experience was going to be. I replied, "I'll have the Sauerbraten, Red Cabbage and Spaetzle". The food came out after about five minutes. She placed it on the table, asked if I needed anything. I said, "No", and she left. The food was okay. Nothing to crave again. "IF" I go back there again, I'll try the Jagerschnitzel. My server didn't come back to my table until almost five minutes after I finished eating, so ask if I wanted anything else. I told her no. Maybe she was having an off night. Or, maybe it was because I was a party of one. But, that shouldn't preclude anyone from giving service, especially decent service. read more

What a pleasant surprise! We were visiting a friend in Kent and thought this menu looked promising. The staff was so kind. The rustic restaurant it cozy and beautiful. The fireplace was crackling while we ate. Nice to have kid friendly options and portions. The rouladen, schnitzel, dumplings, spaetzle, cabbage, and pickles were all perfectly cooked and piping hot on their plates. They also have german beer on tap, which was just an added bonus. We had cabbage rolls (would have liked more sauce) and the special--a pork shank. The shank was so large that we ended up using the leftovers for a nice bean soup later. Decided we didn't really care for German food but if you do, this would be a nice place to try. Would have rated food alone 3 star but probably that was more our tastes. I've been here several times since 2015. It's the kind of dishes Opa called Farmer Food. A great place to get good Central European food. The schnitzels, pierogi and rouladen, are my favorite and taste authentic. It has a quaint modern-Germanic gasthaus feel, lots of wood and soft light. With the aftermath of Covid I feel the food consistency has dropped. Though exactly what's changed is difficult to identify, but it's mostly little things like food temp, sauce quantities, and uneven cooking on breading and dumplings. I think had I not been there a number of times prior I might have not just assumed it was always like this. I feel it's a 3.5 star now and hoping things return to previous quality particularly since there are so few good Germanic food restaurants in the area. read more

Hubby had a beer which he thought was really good. 10/10 We had the sausage platter as an appy and found both to be quite good. This was a texture thing on my part not flavor. 10/10 would order again (just change out the potatoes for spaetzel) Hubby had German platter. He enjoyed everything and left nothing on his plate. 10/10 would order again. For desert we shared apple streusel. This was the only thing that was just meh. It didn't have a lot of flavor and we got the end piece which had a bit of a burned flavor which over powered the apple. 3/10. Would try again. Service 15/10. Lisa was our server and probably in the top 5 of servers I've had in the hundreds of restaurants I've been to in my life. She was so friendly and made sure to check on us throughout the meal. Hungering for the foods of my heritage, I decided to make the drive out to Black Diamond one Saturday afternoon and try out Europa. Was I glad I did! I'm half German and half Polish, and it seemed that everything on the menu harkened back to one of those two cultures. On offer were pierogi, schnitzel, rouladen, gołąbki (Polish cabbage rolls, pronounced "go-WUMP-kee"), and other delights that brought back memories of my childhood and my travels overseas. As it was lunch, I decided against ordering the Polish sampler plate, which my server recommended. It had gołąbki, pierogi, kielbasa and potatoes, but that was too much food. Instead, I opted for one of the lunch specials, which they offer even on weekends, which is very nice. My special came with a cup of soup, which the day I was there was Hangover Soup, followed by a gołąbki in tomato sauce and a scoop of mashed potatoes. The soup was a delicious blend of bacon, Polish sausage, potatoes and a garden of other vegetables. Just the thing for a cool, rainy afternoon. Just as I was about to lick the bowl to get the last bit of soupy goodness, my server brought out the main event. The gołąbki was so tender, I thought the kitchen had taken the filling out of the cabbage leaf before ladling on the tomato sauce but no, it was just that well prepared. The tomato sauce could have had a bit more flavor to it and the potatoes needed a dash of salt, but those are my only critiques - I don't even want to call them "complaints," because that would be overstating the case. It's a cozy little place, with about 35 seats in a front area complete with wooden furniture that reminded me of a mountain cabin. The gas fireplace, the antler chandelier and the stuffed animal heads made the ambience complete. For larger parties and events, my server said they have a larger room in the back. I grew up eating my Polish grandmother's cooking, and I have to say the food at Europa was even better than she prepared (Przepraszam, babciu!). I've also visited traveled in Poland and Germany, and can say of a certainty that the food here is just as good as I've had there, if not better. Why this place isn't packed out every minute it's open is a complete mystery to me. Whether you're Polish, German, or just a lover of good food, you owe it to yourself to try out Europa. This is clearly a happening spot. It was packed at 7:30 on a Friday night. The servers was welcoming and friendly, and fast. I asked for whichever Pork Schnitzel the server thought was best. She recommended the pineapple with lemon butter. The meat itself was moist and the breading nicely fried, the butter sauce was lukewarm and a left a bit to be desired as far as flavor goes. It was quite bland, although the schnitzel itself didn't really need sauce. There were a few options to choose for accompanying sides - I chose the cucumber salad and potato perogi. The perogi were like warm and not that exciting. The cucumber salad was quite lovely and reminded me of sweet pickles. The room it self is not very big and the furniture is oversized log style wood seating- personally, I found it was a bit bulky for the space and over crowded. I could see the servers really having to work hard to navigate their way around. I did notice, after I sat down, that there is a back dining area, it may have been a nicer atmosphere back there. I was next to a group of really loud talkers with whining toddlers. The strudel was flavorful, but tasted store bought, and the whip cream was definitely from a can. The service alone makes this a four star visit, but the food is just good, not knock your socks off or "omg, I have to go back." I could eat here again, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. read more
