The food and service is always top notch. My wife usually gets the cabbage rolls and goulash, and I opt for the wienerschnitzel.

Service friendly, not rushed, took time to interpret the menu. Restaurant was very comfortable, level entry and great ambiance it was incredible for a little out of the way restaurant. Unfortunately the food was only ok. It came out so quickly that our party of six knew it had been precooked and microwaved. The pork was tough and dry. The gravy had no flavor and potato dumplings were very tough as well. I believe they should take time to prepare the food orders as they come in, and it would be much improved. read more

We ordered takeout and their menu had plenty of selection. I was very excited because they featured some German dishes that just don't exist up here. They were very helpful and polite and we could pickup our order in a very reasonable time. We sped off into the night to go get our order. On the way I was thinking of what I'd order next time... When we picked up our order it was ready when we arrived. Well packaged and the price was not unreasonable for these late-COVID times. Europa is in what was (in my memory) a former BBQ restaurant. So we got home, mouth watering, ready to eat! My own opinion is that the food was pre-made, like the Red Cabbage came out of a bag of pre-made Red Cabbage for re-heating. Same with the Spaetzle, it was not made, it was regenerated from bulk. I don't think this food was made in their kitchen by a chef/cook who makes European dishes. Still it was OK, it was good enough for takeout, but I'm still on the hunt for a European Restaurant that makes and serves the real deal. In My Opinion (IMO) only, Europa is not it. Still, Europa is the only place I know of that serves up European fare, as pedestrian as it may be. Europa has all the features necessary for a successful, even popular, over-the-top restaurant, except the food; but, it's good enough for takeout. read more

Before you read my review, you should know this about me: 1. I'm a southern Californian born in Taiwan. 2. I've lived in north Orange County all my life minus the four years I spent in UT for college. 3. I love to eat, and refuse to eat anything I don't think taste good. REFUSE. 4. I don't mind spending money to eat well. 5. My parents owned two sandwich shops while I was growing up. I worked there as a kid, through college and beyond, so I'm a big fan of mom and pop shops. Came here with my extended family who lives less than a mile away. What fun we had. We arrived roughly around 5 PM on a Tuesday afternoon. Had the Polish platter and the sausage appetizer. Came in with a big group (10 of us in all) and we all had something different. What will get me to come back to this place: 1. Service: Mary was wonderful. When I tried to explain to her something I needed, though she didn't understand, she honestly tried her best. As a high school teacher, I am impressed with anyone who makes that kind of effort. ;) 2. The food: I guess I just like German/Polish food! From the brautwurst to the potato dumplings, I liked it too!!! Well, except the pierogis. I don't know HOW it's supposed to be made, but I just didn't care for it at all. The cabbage was cold (purple) and I've had it hot. I prefer it hot, but this wasn't too bad. 3. Large portions: I'm a miser. When I go out for food, I want the food good, hot (if it's supposed to be), and lots of it. This place definitely served all of that up! What I suggest: make sure you bring a big appetite or just bring people to split things with. Get all kinds of food like we did and share. This restaurant was pretty cute and cozy inside. The decor reminded me of Santa's dinning room for some reason. We didn't eat indoors but ordered to go. The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the Jaegerschnitzel. It was a hug piece of pork chop. The sides were super good too. Our kid enjoyed the kids meal of spaetzle with ham. The cucumber side was pretty special too. The only problem I had was their to go box. It was made out of Styrofoam, which isn't ideal if you put a hot fried pork chop on top. The hot pork chop scalded the styrofoam, which is kind of gross. I do't want to eat melted Styrofoam in my pork chop. Aside from this, everything was great. read more

I met a friend for lunch. It was a hot day, and the place wasn't air conditioned. We sat in the main room, and there was one other group of people there. NOISY! Kids yelling and screaming, adults shouting. I asked our waitress if this group was nearly done, because I couldn't hear the gal next to me talking over the noise these people were making. The waitress said it didn't matter if they were done because this group was "the family" and they were probably going to be hanging around after finishing. I considered leaving at that point because honestly, they were so loud it was painful. I ordered a Reuben Sandwich - nope no Reuben available. Meatloaf sandwich? Nope not available either. And no German Pretzels either. I know they have pared down their menu due to covid-19 business slowdown, but it's rough when they don't even have the things that have remained on the menu. I ended up with a Bratwurst with potato salad and sauerkraut. The Bratwurst was good in the middle, but the ends were hard and chewy, kind of like if you microwave a hot dog for too long, how the meat gets tough. But the sides were good. My friend ordered the garden vegetable spätzle which looked good, and was a very ample portion. All in all, I was very disappointed. I'd heard this was a good spot, but really, it was a pretty miserable lunch. read more

My husband is German so we are always on the lookout for a good German place & Schnitzel & red cabbage are my jam. The food looked really good, very large portions, but the flavor was disappointing. The schnitzel was too thick, I could tell it had been run through a tenderizer, so it was tender, but bland. The mushroom gravy was plentiful, but also bland. I am a huge red cabbage fan, but this cabbage lacked the texture & flavor of cabbage that had been slow cooked all day with apple & bacon, the way Oma taught us. The atmosphere is very chill, little German style mixed in with classic American diner. Cozy little place in the Black Diamond neighborhood. Decorated with German theme with a fireplace keeping you feel like home. This place fits about 50 guests and we are here on a weekday for lunch. The place is clean and ventilation is doing its job so we don't feel any greasy smell from the kitchen. Although the food is on the heavy salt side, but with the refreshing pickle side dishes, it just balanced out quite nicely. Will definitely come back again. read more

Authentic Polish and German food! Long story short... go and eat there! Highly recommend it. Long story: How do I know? I was born in Poland, grew up and lived in Poland and Germany as a kid. My mother still cooks similar food on occasions when we visit. I wanted to try this place out to have a date with my wife and enjoy some food that I had great (probably unrealistic) expectations for. It is a beautiful restaurant. It has a polish/german mountain cabin feel. A fireplace in the corner and spacious and clean restrooms that keep the mood of the whole restaurant (see the photo), seriously, it seemed unnecessary but I totally dig it. Staff ensured our table was clean and ready and seated us promptly. We ordered the soup of the day, which happened to be the Hangover Soup. Hope you should find yourself to be so lucky to enjoy that... no hangover necessary to enjoy. Possible that a hangover may increase the enjoyment of this soup (but am not able to speak to this at this time). I wanted to see if something as simple as the summer salad would taste authentic to me (my polish side of the family makes this almost every holiday get together). It was legit... this I say with confidence. If you're not a big fan of olives you may ask them to go light on those, but they make it how I am used to having it. Dressing is obviously fresh and made right. Now I was excited... two for two. My wife and I shared the soup and salad - great way to start the meal. Although I am all-American at heart, I appreciate my polish and german ancestry, so we thought it be fun to order the Polish and German platters. My wife and I shared both and hardly spoke... not because we don't like each other (quite to the contrary actually), but because we enjoyed our food so much. For me in particular, it was delicious not just to my palate, but the soul. Reminded me so much of my childhood and that's when I knew I would write this review (my first). I noticed the owner, who I was curious if he was Polish or German, or both (I mean the food was authentic and clearly made right in-house, you can't fake this stuff in my opinion and package it and ship it). Well, he walked around to all the tables and checked-in on everyone. Greg stopped by to say hi to us too and check on our food. Well, we started talking and it was obvious to me he was polish. We spoke polish and enjoyed talking about the "old country" and his journey here. He lived in Poland, Germany, and apparently was a cook in Spain. Fun guy, great sense of humor, and charming (shook hands with me and kissed my wife's hand, dude got game, so be careful). My wife knows I know good lawyers, so I wasn't worried. While we spoke with Greg, he told us that everything was made in-house. So when he told me that his daughter was making the German Chocolate Cake today, I felt it would be insulting to not order - and yeah, it's chocolate cake! We were stuffed, but figured we would split a dessert. Our waitress was so friendly the entire time and attentive. Then she just brought a very generous piece of the German Chocolate cake (also very authentic, which brings me to mention, it has coconut on it and in it, just FYI). I mean, I am trying to find something to be "critical" about - but how do you not give a place like this five stars... you would have to be someone that doesn't say thank you when someone opens a door for you. Anyways, I wanted to write this review because I imagined a place like this may or may not get your interest. I hope this encourages you to give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Place was great, staff and owner hard working and seemed like very nice people, and food was truly authentic and excellent. And if you're still actually reading this... have a great meal my friend. Superb place for the refined palate! I am Easter European so this type of food is my favorite, however I am also a very picky eater so honestly anybody could eat her and thoroughly enjoy their food! It is beyond worth the drive. Lisa was our amazing waitress she was running like nobodies business but still took a moment to talk to us and let us know we weren't forgotten about. Not sure what the cake we got was it was lemony and fluffy with white chocolate shavings. When you put it in your mouth it melted and just made you want to close your eyes on appreciation. We need more places like these! Good ole old school family ran restaurant. I started coming here when they were still in Enumclaw and moved with them out here. Super easy to get to, it's right off the main road. The parking lot was full when I got here but I lucked out and found a spot after a short wait. It's always a good sign when a place like this is busy. Our wait inside was super quick and we were seated right away. It's big inside and has family style table seating. It for sure carries that European style, reminds me of Leavenworth except way closer to home. There's a lot to choose from on the menu. I have had a little of everything off of it since I have been eating here since 2012. It is all so good, I always eat everything on my plate and get super full. The food always comes out quickly and the service is great. It is way better than your normal chain restaurant quality and priced right too. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the detour! Amazing food! The interior is clean and has a rustic feel. The service when we visited was fantastic. Super friendly people and happy to answer any questions, The also offered great recommendations. We decided to try the hangover soup after reading other reviews and recommendations from staff and other customers in the restaurant. They were all correct, the Hangover soup was delicious! It came with a French style roll that was crispy outside and had a nice soft inner. Great for dipping into the soup! For the main course, we wanted to try samplers to get a broad feel for the food. I ordered the German platter. The Bratwurst is mild, similar to weisswurst put pairs well with the authentic mustard. Their sauerkraut was good (definitely better than most). The highlight of the dish was the Schnitzel! It was absolutely wonderful as is their Jaeger (mushroom) sauce. The red cabbage is delicious, crisp and tangy with a hint of sweetness. Potato salad here is served cold and very mild. My wife tried the Polish platter. The star was the Kielbasa! It is smoky and well seasoned, not too much fat. The Perogies are really good. The potato and cheese was smooth with a nice cheese flavor. I preferred the meat Perogie personally. Cabbage roll was very tasty and well seasoned. For desert, we tried both the Apple Strudel and the Cheesecake. Apple strudel was very good with highlights from the raisins and lemon. Berry cheesecake had a mix of berries and a fun yogurt based drizzle that paied well with it. Bottom line: Nice ambience, great people, fantastic food!
