The day we visited Toy Story 5 came out so my boyfriend and I needed a place to grab dinner before our movie. I figured this would one of the better options than the other restaurants at Kent Station. When we entered, we saw that we had to go to the counter to order. They had some interesting signs, one of the more bizarre ones was no talking on speaker phone but I could understand that too. They had decent music playing that fits the vibes of the place well. The mural they had was gorgeous. When we went to the counter, the cashier just took our order. No real service which was unfortunate as that was the only thing I had an issue with especially with how not busy it was. They had two tables of customers and a steady-ish flow of take out customers. My boyfriend got us a gyro plate for me and a gyro meal (a canned drink and a choice of side) for him while I ordered a side order of falafel. I was getting anxious about our food as it was taking much longer than I thought. Additionally, they call out your number so you have to get your food. After more than 10-15 minutes, we received our food. The food was pretty good. The tzatziki sauce was flavorful and added a nice refreshing palate with the salad, pita, and meat. I wish there was a bit more onion in the salad as it felt like two or three pieces. There were also some hard pieces of rice that was super unpleasant for me as I really dislike that mixed in with the good parts of the rice. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal and had no real complaints. One of my favorite spots down south for Mediterranean food! My favorite orders are: - Chicken shawarma wrap: The chicken is so flavorful and has plenty of spices in the marinade. The garlic sauce that it comes with is the most delicious and is the star of the fish in my opinion. - Greek Fries: Always a must to get as a side. The feta and garlic sauce on top makes it mouthwatering. - Falafel: I get this as a side and it's crispy on the outside and full of flavor with a great interior texture. Yelpers don't usually lead me astray so when I saw five star reviews I was sure this place would be amazing - sorry but perhaps our visit was on a bad day but it was just average food. Small place just across the street from Dukes in Kent station. We've always seen folks coming in and out so assumed it must really be good. I had a gyro plate, it was ok but not wonderful. More rice than anything else and the amount of salad they gave you was almost laughable. We love to try new restaurants and support local businesses. Gyro station came up on our search and we decided to give it a try. We ordered 3 orders of gyro plate. The salad was creamy and fresh (no wilted leaves here). Even though it was small and there were no olives, it was packed with flavor. They gave a decent amount of food as you can tell with the pictures. The meat was well cut and seasoned -not dry or greasy. Even the pita was cooked just how I like it - no charred parts and whatever they had on it smelled great and added a subtle taste. My toddler approved it 100% and asked for seconds on the rice and loved the meat and ate all the veggies! With 5 stars, we will be visiting at a later time! read more

My first time here, I ordered two Gyro Plates, and a side of additional Basmati rice. I asked and they agreed to putting 1/2 lamb'n'beef and 1/2 chicken on both orders. So Sherrie and I had a cross section of all their meats in one meal... very nice of them to accomodate us! The meats were all delicious and cooked perfectly, served over a bed of rice with sides of salad and a yogurt based sauce. In contrast to the deep, rich comfort food flavor of the meat and rice, the salad was a fresh, tangy combination of lettuce, cucumber and bell pepper in a garlic cream dressing. That's a trigger for me; I'll be ordering the Gyro Salad, or Greek Salad next time (which answers whether we're coming back -)! I think the sauces make the meal at Gyro Station...and they serve an ample amount. Also the large pita bread is supple and balances out the whole entrée. The 'to-go' containers are foam, stacked in a large brown paper grocery bag... kept the food warm all the way home. Two pick-up parking slots are tight in front of the store, very convenient. The exterior of the shop is part of Kent Station's cookie cutter design (kinda boring lol) but the food is pretty good. My plan was to grab a bite at the Chipotle but after I saw how they were cleaning the food prep area with a dirty rag I was like, "Uhhh, that's gross." So I walked out of Chipotle and stepped into Gyro Station. The thing that I like about Mediterranean/Greek restaurants is most of them have pictures with their menu. I don't know why this is common across the board. It really saves a lot of time guessing what you're actually going to get and most of the time the pictures are on point. I ordered a chicken gyro and Greek fries. Definitely a lot of food so I had left overs. The employees behind the counter were really friendly and because I went during lunch time they had a steady amount of customers. We came here the other night on a whim. We were in need of a quick meal before heading over to the Showare center for a comedy show and this popped up. We had about 40 minutes to spare before heading over to the show and this was perfect. And let me tell you the Gyro Station did not disappoint. I ordered the lamb and beef gyro and made it a combo which came with a drink and fries, my husband went with the lamb shawarma and also made it a combo. The fries were seasoned to perfection and omg!! The gyro meat was so flavorful and juicy. The sizes were pretty generous as well, especially for the price and the flavor was spot on to some of the better gyros I've had. Who knew a quick gyro shop would be nestled in this shopping center and that flavors would be so authentic. Service here too was top notch, super friendly and very helpful. But one thing I would suggest is that if you are going to a show after dinner bring gum and mints because they do not skimp out on the garlic here. They are also a big for the value, bigger than my hand! Their greek fries ARE THE BOMB.COM!! So garlicky and the sauce is just plain heaven. Sometimes it's not enough sauce on the fries so I've learned to ask for extra! So yummy. Their feta cheese isn't super strong so I like it vs other places! Really really great gyro salad!! The romaine lettuce was super fresh!! There's nothing worse than ordering a salad and being disappointed with a key ingredient- lettuce. TONS of gyro meat. Service with a smile even with a mask! The staff here is so welcoming. I felt like I was back in my godmother's Middle Eastern kitchen. The food is perfectly simple and flavorful. She didn't eat much of it because she was too busy picking off of my chicken fries plate lol. I don't mind, that's my baby and my baby can eat off my plate if she wants to. But I've tried her gyro plate and I thought the meat was flavorful. The rice has some hint of coconut to it or something sweet. I like it. I could be wrong but that's what I got out of it. The sauce they provide is amazing! Some kind of tart flavor dressing like. May have some Greek yogurt or something. I ordered the chicken fries and chicken salad. The meat used for these two are obviously chicken breast and yezzir I love my proteins!! To my surprise they did an amazing job! Chicken breast often times get over-cooked and when this happens it is dry and hard to chew. They nailed it in my opinion. The meat was easy to chew and once you bite into the meat the juices were still there. The seasoning is bomb!! I'm not even gonna try to detail the seasonings cause I have no clue of what they used. I like to consider myself a bit of a gyro snob and from my experiences this place is on the higher end of gyro quality. They require masks to come in and they have signs that say social distancing is required, however we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time we ordered so I cannot be sure of how they enforce it. We ordered the gyro salad, lamb shawarma, and Greek fries. After ordering, our food was ready relatively fast and we decided to sit outside. The Greek fries had great consistency of crispiness and flavor, I was pleasantly surprised as these are very easy to mess up. The meat on my shawarma was marinated perfectly and cooked to perfection. It was not fatty and was nice and tender. My fiance loved her Greek salad as well, she said the meat was perfect and the lettuce and veggies we nice and fresh.
