Second visit to Tanoor, and the ambiance remains the highlight--warm, inviting, with soft background music that makes for a relaxed meal. The fresh bread and zaatar are a nice, unique touch, and the hummus is authentic and well done. The main dishes didn't quite deliver. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, which was disappointing given how strong the starters were. Overall, 4 stars for ambiance, service and bread, closer to 3 stars for the mains. Worth including in your rotation, but not a spot I'd go out of my way for.

We were invited by my son and daughter-in-law for dinner and we had a good dinner experience here. The place is beautiful with a nice view. The food portion is big and shareable. My son and daughter in law recommended some of the dishes and it was all delicious! The service is excellent, friendly, staff was knowledgeable of the dishes and shared the history of the culture and the restaurant The portions are big but the food is not heavy and not overwhelming at all. I highly recommend this Lebanese restaurant. We also enjoyed the ice cream offerings they have and it consists of different toppings pistachio covered, baklava crumble, mango, strawberry, guava purée and affogato with Turkish coffee, we are all impressed and we will surely return. .

This is one of my favorite places on the east side. The food is kind of expensive but totally worth it. And the service is really good no matter what time of day you come. The place is really clean too.

Authentic food with a view. Easy parking I would suggest the family meals there is more than enough food for the number indicated on the menu get an extra size of the pickles . You can order online you're picking up then enjoying a meal in the restaurant is so much more fun location is easy to get to and I understand now they have three locations bread is fresh and hot out of the oven. Service is always excellent.

I've been here a few times now and it's good not great. The service can be good but it can also be slow and clunky. Example is waiters disappear to the back for long periods. Or when clearing the table asking (expecting) the diners to pass the dirty plates. Food can be great but overall average. Hummus and pita bread is the best at a 5/5 The mains can be inconsistent. Vegan options available. As for ambiance, cute, good for large groups or small parties. However, the food smell is strong , very strong.

What's not to love!! I love Lebanese food but Tanoor does it so well. I have amazing experiences here. Everything from their fresh bread to the delicious cardamon coffee: yummmm! Love: Cardamon Turkish coffee Hummus Family combo platter Kabob combo Shish tawook Beef kabob - yummmm Lahma Ba jeen Nutella Manoushe Manoushe Fries Kenafeh Turkish coffee All so good!!! Get a big table since portions are huge. I always have left overs. Yumm yummm! Service is a hit or miss. Mostly friendly. Love the ambiance. So much bright lights. And parking can be challenging: but if you come during non rush hour, you'll be ok.

Dropped by this spot while touring the area for my friends who were thinking about moving to Washington. None of us had Lebanese food before specifically! The view from the seat we had was excellent-- several floors above the ground level. There were a bunch of flies in the restaurant (maybe not surprising because the windows were fully open), but because the ceilings were so tall, they didn't get anywhere close to the food/interfere with the eating experience. Loved all the dishes that I ate. There were so many things I wanted to try, so I got the mezze medley. I hadn't had fatayir spaneekh before-- very sweet, salty, tangy flavors; the arambeet was perfectly fried without being overly oily; and I really like their babaghanouge. It was way too much food and I had to take it home, but I was delighted to eat it as leftovers anyway.

I love Tanoor and I love their food, service and ambiance. I've been multiple times and it's always pretty consistent. They're fairly busy at any given time but they take good care of you even through that. This time we went, I REALLY wanted to try their pistachio ice cream and normally, we would be informed of last call but we weren't the last time and when we were ready for dessert, we were told that it was too late and that it would take 10 mins for the machine to come on. Apart from that, love their food every time. I would be back again and probably mention that I'd like to order it while placing the order for food and maybe just ask them to bring it later.

We never had Lebanese food before so this was an interesting experience for us. The restaurant decoration looked great and it window seats had great view in the summer when the windows were fully open. The food was fantastic. In fact we loved them so much that I even forgot to take photos. I also see a lot of people dinning there in their ethnic clothing thus I think this place must offered real authentic Lebanese cuisine. Overall it is definitely a restaurant I will revisit.

I was craving Mediterranean food and didn't feel like cooking after a long day at work. Ordered the beef shawarma plate and a side of the tabbouleh salad. There was a 10-15 minute wait but when I picked up my order I thought the package felt super light so I quickly scanned my order. I was hungry and ready to eat! I was surprised how "small" the order of tabbouleh salad was. For $6.50 it was just 2 bites. It was basically a thin layer spread on the bottom of the box. I used to order this and it was probably 3x the amount. The beef shawarma plate was ok. I used to love their rice but it didn't taste the same. Their hummus is very good. The beef was a little dry and cut very thin. I didn't think it was worth $30 (before tip). At least their hummus is always good and consistent.

I stopped in Jasmine Kitchen fresh off an airplane and WOW. First it was around 3pm, which is dead time for most restaurants. The two men could not have been nicer and my food was fresh and amazing in a clean and cool environment. Even the bathrooms were clean and nice (which is a huge element to the overall experience). Service was great too, even with two men. I order a kofta kebab plate which came with saffron rice and great pita and a small salad and a garlic sauce that would be amazing on a leather boot. I also had the walnut baklava which was about the best I've ever had. The flavors were all spot on - juicy and tender and wonderful - every bite of the whole meal. In fact I was tempted to get the whole thing again. But decided to wait until the VERY next time I'm in town.

The service was super quick and the flavor and quality of ingredients are excellent. The price is reasonable at $16.99 and the portion is generous. They ask if you want to dine in or take out but they are both served in a to-go container with the only difference being you either get a bag or a tray. :) One improvement suggestion would be to provide sriracha hot sauce as many other similar businesses do. Overall I recommend this place for an affordable, delicious, quick meal with no frills.

The center area hosted a huge group with multiple tables pushed together. I have avoided Zeitoon all these years because they are higher cost, not necessarily justifiable since there are lower cost Persian foods or similar Mediterranean restaurants in the area. I finally decided to try them. Our server answered my questions, including his favorites. Two questionable/sketchy things happened: 1. Our server recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, which he said is great with the optional soft-boiled egg. Sounds good. We ordered it. The optional egg is $2, which is not identified on the menu. (See photo) 2. When he recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, we asked him to remove the Mast O Khiar which we initially chose. I said we only want one appetizer. He nodded and said OK. When the Mirza Ghasemi arrived, so did the Mast O Khiar. They put both on the table and immediately left. I flagged the original server to remind him we said to remove it, but a different person showed up instead. He: "You want to cancel this? No problem." and took the yogurt away. I did not order this; it is not me canceling. Minus 0.5 stars from overall rating. The Food: Mirza Ghasemi + egg, $14 +$2 - 2.5 Stars This eggplant dish is the one recommended by our server. We do enjoy eggplant dips, especially warm versions. The optional "soft boiled egg" is not an American version but tiny threads of yellow egg bits mixed within the eggplant mixture. Honestly, we cannot taste the egg. It is borderline a scam. This dish would be 3.5 stars if it was $14 at the menu price, which is already on the high side. A $16 eggplant dish is delusional. Lamb Shishlik Kebab, $36 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Lamb rack marinated and chargrilled (see menu photo) I knew I would not see a rack of lamb on my plate. I got four lamb chops. Meat quality wise, this is excellent. It comes with a ton of basmati rice and a salad with a refreshing light dressing. This is a bit spendy for the quantity of meat, but taste is good. Soltani Shishlik, $42 - 3.5 Stars This is the exact same dish as above except add a skewer of grounded beef kebab. This kebab, and I quote my hubby, is "not that good". Same comment for the rest of the dish. A basket of lavash bread arrived at the table. I believe it came with the Mirza Ghasemi. We have eaten many lavash breads, commonly used as wrap so it is grilled and/or heat-pressed with oil on the surface. These lavash breads are simply warmed. I learned they taste terrible that way. The surface has a sandpaper texture and still taste like sandpaper when eating it. If I paid for this separately, I would be upset.

Based on decor I wondered if it had been a pub or steakhouse once in its life: lots of paneled and coffered wood, chandeliers, and wooden booths with coat hangers. We started with the baba ghanouj and ordered the fesenjan and a beef kobideh for meals. The meals came with a salad to share rather than small individual salads on the plate which was a nice touch. The staff was able to provide some veggies with the baba ghanouj since my partner in crime can't have bread. The baba ghanouj was great - exactly the smoky eggplant flavor I was craving when I saw the sign for Persian cuisine. The kobideh was nice and tender - you could taste the onion. The fesenjan was also extremely good. One question: Who eats this much rice in one dish? The rice was very good - but it is a lot of rice. I haven't had Persian like this since we had Persian neighbors who invited us over.
