Came here little past 8 to get a meal. Ordered the chicken shawarma bowl after looking at the menu. It's kinda confusing because what's the difference between the plate and the bowl? Anyways got home and was really happy with the portion size of the meal, but given how hungry I was, I would have thought the meal would have tasted better. Have been here a few times and would continue to return. This was my first time back in a while and don't know if the menu changed at all but thought it was weird/interesting that the plate didn't seem to have the option of being ordered on its own, not as a meal. The bowl was plenty filling but it didn't have much meat, just seemed like it because it looked so full with the rice, sauce, and leafy greens filling up the space - wish there was more (especially the lamb - the expensive protein - seemed extra lacking). That being said the lamb was decent but just a touch too salty, and chicken was pretty good. Fries were a bit dry somehow (like overcooked?) but sauce of course made up for it. Prices seem to also have jumped up since I was last here, not surprising due to inflation but not as much the super affordable meal it used to be. Garlic fries (medium) were over $7 so I'm glad they at least sauced it up because toum makes everything better. Lamb bowl was 17.99 and chicken bowl 13.99. Service was a bit slow (felt like 20 minutes) even as we were the only customers at the time, but the guys were nice. It's still a good stop for a healthy meal when we need that option. read more

Honestly one of the most disappointing Mediterranean meals I've had in a long time. I ordered a "beef shawarma plate," and what I got was chopped up beef kofta kabob -- which is completely different from shawarma. If you're out of shawarma, just say that instead of serving something else entirely and calling it shawarma. On top of that, I asked for two extra side items in my to-go order, and neither of them was included. The portioning was ridiculous for a $25 plate: about 90% bland rice, maybe one skewer worth of meat cut into pieces, and a few spoons of overcooked grilled vegetables that honestly tasted terrible. The rice completely dominated the plate and had almost no flavor. I rarely complain about prices because I understand restaurants are expensive nowadays, but this genuinely felt like a ripoff. What frustrated me most is that nothing about this meal resembled actual Mediterranean food. Calling this Mediterranean cuisine feels misleading when the flavors, preparation, and dishes are so far off from what they're supposed to be. My new favorite shawarma place! Chicken is flavored well with lots of spices, garlic sauce is amazing, veggies were fresh, rice was ok. The bowl is great value and I think it is priced well for what it is. The bowl is about $13 so with tax+tip it comes about to $17. I got this as a to go order and ordered online. For some reason I couldn't place an order ahead of time and could only order "immediately" so I had to make sure I ordered online close to the time I wanted to pick up. ....Im upset that I have to take it down to 3 stars because every time I speak with the owner, he is amazing. I went here last Sunday to get my falafel shawarma. The man was preparing 3 shawarmas before mine and made them beautifully, the kids were shouting for pickles on theirs lol that family then left and it was time for my shawarma to be made. I saw him grab a pita to wrap my shawarma in, instead of the tortilla wrap that they're supposed to use. I immediately stopped him and he tried to tell me that it was the same wrap and I told him I've been coming here for 6 years, I know exactly what the wraps look like and that wrap is thick and half the size of the actual tortilla wrap that is used for the shawarma. He then proceeds to tell me that they're out of the tortilla wrap for the shawarmas and I said "if you knew you were out of the wraps, why try to lie to me and convince me that it's the same when it's not?" I obviously already paid for the food and I was pissed off, extremely upset about it. I told him to just make me a bowl and he goes "it's the same price" it wouldn't matter to me if it was or if it wasn't, you just tried to give me less than I paid for and tried to lie to me about what it was as if I'm not a loyal customer for the pass 6 years...it wasn't a good experience. Stopped by to grab a bite to-go before heading home and overall the food and service was OK. I had ordered the chicken bowl and a side of fries. The person taking my order was confused on how to ring me up or which combo I was asking for but eventually got it with the help of his coworker. The bowl was overall good with all the elements, but you really have to ask for them to add a lot of sauce to get that kick of spice when asking for spicy level. I would recommend getting extra sauces on the side if you want it get that flavorful taste in each bite. The meat was cooked well but I wish they would add more of it to the bowl it seemed like they didn't add enough for the size of the bowl. The fries were seasoned well and had the perfect crispy/crunch to it definitely recommend trying the feta cheese fries. read more

Quality of food has steadily gone down. We won't be going again. They made multiple mistakes with our to go order which wasn't ready when we got to the place. After remaking the order, the food presentation and taste was really low quality. We ordered for multiple family members and were very upset as this was not what we expected. One of the entrees - gyro salad, we ended up picking at the meat and tossing the rest. I'm not sure what's going wrong - phone calls are not being picked up (for to go order), and although the folks were nice either they are new and don't know how to get the entrees together or just are overwhelmed. The food was decent, but had a weird experience here. My wife and I stopped in during a road trip up north. Originally we got our food to go, but opted to eat in the car. When I went back in to throw our trash out, the counter staff said to be "Hey! Do you have a question?" As I threw my trash out, implying that I was not allowed to do so. The owner has stopped paying attention and the employees are running this place to the ground. We used to love this place for its wraps, but we have been very disappointed recently and the quality. The beef quality was good, but the bread was very low quality, and it was soggy, despite my request for extra crispy. The wrap was bland, despite my request to make it spicy. The salad was literally in a huge tray with fresh salads, beets and radishes along with hummus and tahini dip. In a separate container, it was filled with chicken, beef, and falafel and some onions. That dish alone could have fed 2 people. The kids bowl was basically a normal size portion of rice, chicken and fries. We ended up having leftovers. All of that was $23. That was super cheap. I am in heaven. I wish they had more locations, but every time we pass by the exit for 116th/124th in Totem Lake we salivate at the thought of getting some Shawarmaniac for lunch/dinner. We used to frequent this place when we lived in Totem Lake, now we only get a chance to stop by maybe every other month. But whenever we have family or friends in town we consider picking some up (my parents sometimes ask to stop by on the way from SeaTac lol). Love the seasonings, garlic sauce, tahini and the option to make it extra spicy. My wife doesn't do spice at all (she's asks for 0/10 spice at Thai restaurants) and she can eat the standard version of menu items just fine. This food is delicious. My meal here was interesting i love the flavors the food was good. They give you a ton of food on the plates they have excellent rice. A friend and myself tried the Dolma 8 piece plate a vegetarian dish and the kafta. I thought the kafta was going to be more like a kebab and I felt like this was more of long strips and both dishes were pretty messy might of been because it was a door dash but the food looks sort of clunky with a lot of rice and the same sauces. Don't get me wrong the meals are good but very similar in taste with rice, hummus and herbs. Still very tasty I just wasn't wowed but may have to try some other dishes. I separated fresh salad from container to keep salad cold and ate with top of hummus first. I liked thick cut veggies and hummus. After that I ate half of Chicken Shawarma and rice. Chicken was tender, good flavors, with rice even better! I bite a little Baklava....I really liked it!!! So moist bottom and nice sweet and chocolate melted my mouth. I bite more and tasted ... Bowls are perfect portions, but if you want to super-size it get one of their plates, which have more protein and skip the salad. However, I get the bowls since the salad is awesome. The lamb is awesome. Their sauces are also very flavorful. I usually get them on the side so that I can adjust the amount I consume - their that flavorful! I find this for a bit more healthy than Greek food, which I also really love! The only thing that's not as fresh is the pita bread. It tastes a day or two old, which is odd since everything else tastes so fresh. During Covid everything is for to-go only. Great food sometimes, but because of the employee turnover and unusual restaurant management, I have mixed feelings about this once great fast-casual place. When it opened and was staffed by the owner and regular cooks, it was FANTASTIC. So fantastic, that those of us who have been going here for 4 years or more still go there on the small chance that we will get a really unusual and flavorful lunch close to home. I have been there: 1) when a cook quit, leaving me alone in the restaurant and having to announce to anyone walking in that there was no one in the restaurant but me;, 2) The time when they didn't have pita bread (only tortillas), and the women working there couldn't figure out how to use the credit card machine; 3) A few times I came to the store during business hours and found them closed. * Further, I find it unusual that I have never paid the same price for my meal despite ordering the same items every single time. Still, I give it three stars despite all of the craziness I have experienced because:1) I understand how hard it is to run a retail store (I had some myself in the past); and. 2) because when you get the "original" lamb schwarma made "Lebanese style" with garlic sauce, french fries, and pickled vegetables, it is heavenly.
