This was my first time trying vegan Thai food, and I was genuinely excited. The appetizers were great, and the Massaman curry was delicious. But the entire experience was completely ruined by the waitress's rude and dismissive attitude. She refused to give me a larger container for my takeaway while giving my dining companions theirs, saying my meal was "too small for one." I couldn't believe how unnecessarily rude she was. It's honestly shocking that someone working in hospitality could treat guests like that. Save 30 cents, lose a customer. What a terrible way to run a business. I will never return.

You can see how nice it is with all the bottles perfectly aligned.

Updating this review because this has become one of my go-to restaurants. I'm absolutely obsessed with the pho which is unlike any traditional restaurant you would go to. It's just done so well and so tasty. You have to try it It's one of the places I meet my friends to catch up and unlike me, every time they order something different because they like to try a variety of food. And they've always been very very happy with the food quality and how good it is There's only a couple of servers that work there , but they are genuinely nice and happy to help and know the menu super well. They are always there when you need them and make it a great experience I also continue to love the ambience of the restaurant. Even when they're super busy it's not loud and annoying. Somehow the way they have configured it to handle sound is perfect You can also get the food for takeout if you would like My only concern in writing a really good review like this is that it's gonna get so busy that I'm not gonna be able to get in... So just let me skip ahead in line.

A cute little restaurant in the heart of Totem lake mall. We went on a weekend for lunch and got a table without a wait. My friend (who had been here a number of times) recommended the Cauliflower bombs. We ordered that and the Tofu Satay. The bombs were da bomb. It's very spicy and I could feel my sinuses being activated. The tofu satay was the perfect contrast . Tofu was grilled to perfection and there was a nice citrusy flavor of lemongrass which was amazing. The satay came with a side of peanut sauce and cuke salad. The peanut sauce was quite very average. I have had better. For the entree we ordered the Basil fried rice and Red curry. The Basil Fried Rice was good-- it was garnished with sautéed basil but I was expecting a stronger flavor from the Basil, which I didn't get. The Red curry was fantastic. It wasn't overly coconutty hence not sweet; and had the right textures and flavors. We wanted our food to be spicy but the waitress said she could only give 2 stars. She said we could sprinkle chili flakes to add more spice to our food and got us a jar. My friend (who has been here a dozen times and has had no issues ordering spicy food before) was taken aback. It's the first time I am hearing this 2-stars-only rule in a Thai restaurant. Deducting a star for this inconsistency. Good food; but nothing really spectacular. I came with really high expectations here. On the whole, it was an average meal. Service could be better.

Tom Yum.

Their spicy vegan tom yum is the best soup I've ever had. The veggies are crisp and chunky and the broth was scrumptious. After moving to totem lake apartments I was exploring and saw this place for the first time. Thai vegan is probably the main or only vegan restaurants I really like because vegetables just go so well with the food. The area around the restaurant is really nice and the restaurant itself is really nice and clean.

- Good Massaman curry, skip the Roti - Food: 3 stars Price: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Overall: 3 stars We came here on Sunday night and most of the big tables are taken at 5:35pm. There were 4 small tables available, and we grabbed the one at the corner of the restaurant. I ordered the massaman curry for $20, roti for $5, and hubby ordered the old-style pad thai for $20. We got our food after a short wait around 7 minutes, and the curry was great. There was about 5-6 fried tofu in there with 5 small chunks of potato, and I saw some spices such as a cinnamon stick and bay leaf. It's my first time eating massaman curry, so I can't really compare it to anywhere else. However, I enjoyed the taste of it, and the aftertaste was spicy. I'd totally recommend skipping the Roti as you can easily make better ones from frozen packages from asian grocery stores. It was such a disappointment when I saw it. The best roti I've had is from Banana leaf in Vancouver, BC. I haven't found anything that's close to that.. order rice with the curry would be a better choice here. The old-style pad thai is similar to ones from other places, but it's more mushy. My husband didn't enjoy it that much, but I think it's on par with other places despite a small portion. The ambiance was great here with the décor, but the food wasn't that good and I found the price higher than what they should have been. Maybe it's the totem lake pricing, but paying $20 for curry without rice seems crazy. I might still come back for the curry, but I'm more likely to visit the Box or elsewhere if we're in the area again.

Came in here for a quick dinner. There was a bit of a wait, but service was not bad overall. Thai restaurants are known to be spicy, and thankfully usually allow you to adjust the spice on a 1-5 scale, but this place did not ask us which led to us having to be surprised. The pad keemao immediately caught my eye in the menu, and I did find it to be a bit bland. The portion was also a little smaller than what I anticipated from the price. The khao soi was tastier, but I still felt like it lacked flavor. I do think that being able to adjust the spice preferences would have saved these dishes. On top of that, the bowl for the khao soi was far too shallow for a soupy dish, causing us to spill a little over the edges while trying to share. I did appreciate that the Thai Teas were dairy free, but the milk they used was not mixing well with the tea and kept curdling. I do think it should be a little sweeter. The ice cream in the float was a little gritty, which is common with dairy free ice cream. On the bright side, I do think it is a cute place for photos. As for the food, I don't find it bad, but not restaurant quality nor is it worth the price.

Garlic Jackfruit on Sticky Rice.

Came across this assuming place when walking around the Village. We actually passed by a few times without noticing it lol. We were not hungry so we focused on mainly appetizers and tom yum soup. Appetizers are in order of recommendation level: - Jackfruit with sticky rice: Super flavorful and rice compliments the fruit well. - Fried cauliflower bomb: It has medium spicy level in both cauliflower and the dipping sauce. - Garden spring roll: Not as good as other similar restaurants, great source for veggies though.

Food: 5/5 Service:5/5 Value for Money: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 I recently dined at Kati Vegan Thai and was blown away by the exceptional quality of the food. Everything from the starters to the main courses was perfect. We began with the garlic jackfruit on sticky rice and the devil wings. Both dishes were impeccably crisp and seasoned to perfection, 100% recommended also try the cauliflower bombs. Spot on texture, taste and balance. For our main course, we opted for the Massaman curry, which was delicious, although slightly heavy on the potatoes. The curry itself was so good that you couldn't help but want to savor every bite. It's finger licking good. The old style pad Thai was also a standout--not entirely traditional but definitely delightful, with well-balanced flavors and a nice assortment of veggies. They even provided spice powder on the side, which was a thoughtful touch. The Mango Delight is a must try, the hot sticky rice at the bottom, the flavor of Mango topped with coconut ice cream and when you take a little bit of everything and taste it. Perfection, this dessert cannot be compared to any other cuz it has its own unique flavors and taste. Just perfect. We also tried a few of their cocktails, which were as refreshing as they were innovative. Kati Vegan Thai is more than just a dining spot; it's a destination for anyone looking to explore excellent vegan food in a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend! A shoutout to the friendly staff here. They are super friendly and sweet.

Pad Thai , not very good, too saucy, very sour
Mandy G.

My impression of this Thai place is No 1, the pad Thai is nasty, slimy and sour, not traditional like their menu suggests. I've been to Thailand, this is not traditional. I think I would not be this annoyed if they don't claim it's made the traditional way on the menu. This is a high expectation, big let down situation. No 2, don't trust the wait time their website tells you when you join their online waiting list. We were told by the website that our wait time is 20 mins, but it ended up to be more like 45. Other dishes are ok comparing to the pad Thai. The dumplings were a bit tasteless, but my husband likes his curry.

Hot basil fried rice.
Meenashree C.

This establishment has been visited multiple times and is wonderful for dining in, but not recommended for delivery. I ordered the devil wings, Kati pho, and hot basil fried rice--all delicious. It's an amazing vegan joint where you don't have to worry about fish oil. The service was quick, the staff friendly and accommodating to younger kids, and the interiors are beautiful.

Great option for vegans all around! This is a super good Thai place located in heart of totem Lake. Parking is plentiful and easy to find. The service is great. The menu is available on a QR code however they do have paper menus if you want. Little bit on the pricier end, you'll end up spending about $20 per person, including tax and tip. I got pad see ew which comes with tofu and if you want to switch to jackfruit that an extra charge. Looking through the menu the curry seemed pretty good too however rice was an extra 3 to 4 dollars depending on the kind that you want. We got cauliflower bombs as an appetizer which were honestly really amazing and I'd probably come back and definitely get those too. Comparing this to Araya's place (the other vegan Thai place), I prefer Araya's however this is a solid choice if you don't want to drive to Bellevue.

Devil Wings.
Sahitya M.

Kinda disappointed with this place. The food was too oily specially the devils wings. The fried rice tasted pretty bland and overcooked. overall the experience wasn't satisfying The place is usually pretty busy but we were able to get a spot as we went there just before closing. The service was good but the food not so much.

This location of Kati is the only one I have tried so far! As someone who is not vegan I was skeptical of this restaurant for a long time, unsure of how good a dish without meat could be. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious all the items we ordered were and the small, comfortable and private seating area. We did however have an issue of being charged for the wrong groups meal, and never got it refunded (only offered a gift card). I also wish we could adjust the spice level as I would've enjoyed more of a kick in my food!

My favorite dishes are the PHAD SEE EIW with chicken ($16.25) and the THAI GRILLED BEEF SALAD (cooked medium) ($20.50). The PHAD SEE EIW has the perfect sauce balance of sweet and savory flavors and comes with broccoli and carrot. The noodles are super long and wide so you know they are fresh and not from the box. The THAI GRILLED BEEF SALAD definitely has a kick to it. This dish comes with raw cucumbers, carrots, onions, and basil and is served in a tangy and umami fish sauce vinegar mix. The beef is extremely tasty, tender, and well-marinated. This past visit, my friends and I also tried two new dishes that I've never had at Isarn before- their CHIANG MAI NOODLES (aka Khao Soi) ($17.25) and the MINCED LAMB WITH THAI BASIL ($16.50). The CHIANG MAI NOODLES were beautifully presented with a nest of crunchy egg noodles on top of a creamy yellow curry with soft egg noodles underneath. It was served with pickled mustard cabbage and onions for extra punch of flavor. The MINCED LAMB WITH THAI BASIL reminded me of Vietnamese larb. However, this dish was more savory and less tangy than larb and the basil really shined through. It is quite oily though so make sure to enjoy it with a side of JASMINE RICE ($2.75). Portions are generous for all dishes and I always leave with leftovers. The atmosphere is modern, clean, and trendy. It's a great place for catching up with friends and not too loud. I will say the restaurant is a bit on the darker side, but that's just how they set the ambiance. Service was good and we got our food promptly within 15-20 minutes after ordering. It took a bit of time to waive the waiter down for to-go boxes, but they were attentive otherwise. Note that Isarn doesn't take reservations and it's street parking only. However, they have a waiting list kiosk inside the restaurant and so if they're busy, you can sign up for notifications and walk around the downtown Kirkland shops while you're waiting. Overall: 5/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

Went on a Friday night with a group of 5 and waited about an hour before getting seated. Unfortunately, you can't join the waitlist ahead of time and when your table is ready, you gotta be RIGHT THERE as we literally walked in 30 seconds after they called us and didn't leave a message, but the staff informed us that they had given our table away. Luckily, we just got the next one available, but felt like a needlessly stressful experience. Jumbo Firecracker Prawns (4.25/5): Spring rolls and shrimp had a baby. Crunchy outside with tender shrimp and sweet chili sauce - a perfect appetizer to share. Isarn Fried Rice (4.25/5): A fried rice unlike any other. Was my personal favorite dish of the night. The rice kernels were separated into individual grains and coated in grease in the best way possible. I'm a kale hater, but the combination with salted eggs and the purposefully chewy fried steak pieces was just super delicious! Northern Style Sweet Curry (3.75/5): The curry itself is fantastic: super balanced between savory, fragrant, and sweet. The steak chunks unfortunately were just a bit overcooked and chewy. Durian Sticky Rice (4.25/5): Sticky rice has a super satisfying chew and I appreciated that the sauce wasn't overly sweet. Durian itself was sweet and creamy with just a touch funk. If you've never had durian before, this is a fantastic intro.

We're certainly not Thai experts - we've eaten at a lot of Thai places in the US, but couldn't tell you what makes authentic vs Americanized. Compared to other places, the Pad See Ewe was pretty plain - underspiced, underflavored. Not bad, but it had no depth, no darkness or umami from the sauce, nearly bland. The crispy rolls were luke warm inside, and it was also a bland mush. I was pouring the sauce inside just to get a little flavor but still no saving the poor consistency. The rangoons were OK. The flavor of the filling was good, but we each preferred a thicker wrapper to balance the creaminess. This was an extremely thin crisp wrapper so you're just eating chunks of crabby cream cheese. Hey, if that is what you're here for then you're in luck. I always get Pad See Ewe my first time at a Thai place.just to measure relative quality. Maybe that isn't their power dish, but their menu says it is one of their most popular.
