My fiancé and I have been ordering DoorDash delivery or pickup from here for a few years now and in my opinion, it's some of the best Thai food in the area. We had family in town this week and we decided to order takeout from here one night. My family was raving about the distinct flavors each dish had, and it's why we keep coming back. We've also dined in once, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our meal and were comfortable. All in all, we'd HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone in the area. The staff is always super friendly and the food is done fast. Their curry is amazing, and their noodle dishes always a family favorite. It is one of the coziest Thai places around, with their big aquarium and good ambiance. They have been very accommodating when visiting with disabled family members. read more

As you can tell from my last review, I have been frequenting this Noppakao location for 10 years. I still say the food quality is consistently 3.5 - 4 stars. However, I have to knock a star off for their abysmal lunch order take-out PORTION SIZE. I get it, inflation is a real thing, I really do. But I paid $14.59 (before tax and tip) for two pieces of chicken and barely any sauce. I had over double the amount of rice to the entree. We called ahead of time for a party of 15 on a Saturday afternoon and fortunately it wasn't busy so we were able to be seated when we arrived. There is another location in Everett and this location is in the Kirkland area close to Juanita Bay. I ordered the panang curry with chicken ($16.29) at spice level 2. For the curries the spice levels ranged from 2 to 5, whereas other dishes ranged from 1 to 5. The curry was decent with a good portion of meat; I probably could've gone up to level 3 but I never know because restaurants have such a large and inconsistent range for spice levels. Note that their lunch menu and prices are only during the week, so on the weekend we ordered off the dinner menu for the prices, even during lunch time. This place has really gone downhill! The last two times I ordered from their website, paid and received confirmation they don't have the order when I got there to pick up. I showed them the confirmation I got and they then have to search their system to find it and then they START to make it. When we first moved to Kirkland back in 2010, Noppakao used to be one of our local favorites. I moved here from LA, re land of a thousand Thai restaurants, and i dared say the 2002 Noppakao was up there with some of the best I've had. Over the years ownership changed and so did the food and after several disappointing experiences we stopped going. On a quiet Monday evening we worked later than planned and had to scramble for dinner. Our usual go to restaurants were closed so we thought we should give Noppakao another try. There were only 2 other tables there with us. We ordered chicken wings, pad woo sen, and Lemongrass chicken. The chicken wings were not fresh, tasted like the wings had long expired before being fried and served up. This is a good family Thai spot with good ambiance. There are plenty of regulars and the employees there are very good with our kids who can be outright beasts. I was surprised to see the 3 star rating on Yelp but I'm too tired to read into it. The little one loves chicken fried rice and manages to eat the lion share off the dish - the rest ends up on the floor. Phad see ew is really nice too. Give it a shot if you have a big fam and want to get out of the house. You'll probably see me with mine, throwing chicken fried rice at the fish tank. :-| read more

I really like this place because I hadn't tried a lot of Thai food in the area, when I wrote my last review. I was also giving props to Thai fried rice because it taste so much better than regular Chinese fried rice. However, now that I've eaten at Irene's in Woodinville, I have to reevaluate my original score on a lot of restaurants I reviewed previously. Consistency is key. Last night this place dropped the ball. Usually their dishes are cooked to perfection and taste great. Last night our entire order was not good at all. Ordered pad-see-ew and the noodles came in tiny pieces, and were mushy. This dish is usually very tasty with big wide noodles and great sauce. Fried rice was also gummy and didn't taste fresh, barely had meat in it. Fried potstickers appeared to be deep fried and dried out. I thought these were supposed to be pan fried. I'm disappointed with the lack of consistency/cooking technique and care. With delivery and $10 off the meal/order cost $65 and some change. Not sure I will return to this establishment. read more

The lady at the front said our food wasn't ready and she would let me know when it is. However, the food was ready and was sitting at the table. Good thing I decided to look after a few minutes or else I would have been there for a while. Pad Thai: pretty standard, nothing special Pork ribs: the ribs was on the tougher side and it was salty. For the Yelp Big Night In during April, our family ended up ordering from 5 different places. I ordered Thai from Noppakao located in the Juanita Village area of North Kirkland. I ordered through Door Dash. I had Pineapple Fried Rice and Chicken See-Ew. I had never had pineapple fried rice before and am now a fan. It added a bit of sweetness to an otherwise normally salty/savory type of dish. I will look for it on future visits. My other item I ordered was Chicken See-Ew. They never asked me for my spicy level selection (2 stars usually) and automatically put down "No Spicy" on the ticket and in the dish. But other than that, the food was great for take out. Ordered online for pick up, and when we got to the restaurant at the appointed time, they claimed they didn't see the order come in, so it hadn't been started. When they finally brought the bag, we asked if there were 5 meals in there and were told yes. Got to our destination 20 minutes away, and found we were missing a meal. Stopped in on our way home to ask for a refund, and we were told that they couldn't issue one because I ordered online. The gal even tried arguing that there were 5 meals in the bag. What the heck?? They have a big saltwater fish tank that's clean. Bathrooms were clean. We got beef in the flat noodle dishes, chicken in the pad thai and panang. Portions were fair. I got the golden noodle. First time having a curry mixed into rice noodles but it tasted fine. Large portions so definitely share food if you give it a try. We got takeout and it was pretty fast. We drove over and the food was ready. The pick up area is a little cramped but we didn't have to wait there long to pay and grab our food. The servers and kitchen workers here are wonderful, great customer service. Good soup. Good appetizers. Their noodle dishes are a bit overcooked for my taste but I've brought people who say they're fans of their pad Thai and pad see ew. Their portions are definitely generous. My favorite to go order usually consists of a variation of either chicken satay, Tom Kha soup, or their Green Curry. They put generous amounts of eggplants and curry base in their green curry so I recommend ordering an extra side of rice to soak it all up with (or for leftovers) read more

I've come here for years and have enjoyed going into the restaurant (they have a nice interior) and most recently a take-out order through DoorDash that had a significant error - one of the four items I ordered was completely incorrect. I ordered the banana coconut ice cream dish and I received fried ice cream, no banana coconut in sight. When I let the restaurant know they had made this error, I was given a $3.80 refund on a $12 item. !!!! They have forever lost my business (a 25 year customer!) due to not making things right. Noppakao is a fantastic choice for take out, and is somewhere I go quite frequently. It perfectly achieves what it aims for, cheap tasty food and a lot of it. Our go to is what I call the "brick" of pad thai. It is a ~9x6x2 container that is packed full of noodles all for a reasonable price. For me it can take 2-3 springs to finish the whole thing. I've also had the sriracha and pad see ew from here and both were also really tasty. The value proposition with pad Thai is hard to beat though. As for the food quality it is an elevated takeout; not exactly fancy, but more than your run of the mill place. The flavors of their sauces are well developed if not particularly complex. My only complaint about the food would be the ratio of meat to noodles that most dishes have. The interior is presentable, and provides a nice enough experience, however with the floorplan, people coming in, ordering at the counter, and how accessible the kitchen is means it can be relatively loud.
