Just visited Mediterranean Kitchen again and it's still one of my favorite restaurants! I love ordering the veggie shawarma plate, and my family likes the chicken shawarma plate/wraps. The lentil soup they serve as an appetizer is delicious too, I'm obsessed! There's some room inside to dine in, and a couple tables outside for dining in nice weather. Love the grilled veggies and the lentil soup that came with it. Wasn't a big fan of the crunchy celery chunks in the soup though. $3 for a small ketchup sized container of extra hummus is a rip off though. I would expect a larger portion for that much. read more

I love this place! My family has been going to get shish tawook for years and I love the falafel salad and usually get a side of dolmas as well. The owners are really wonderful and thoughtful and I love supporting such good people. I haven't tried the shish tawook since I'm a vegetarian, but everyone I know who has tried it has loved it and gone back many times for more. I love the falafel salad and it's gluten free! Super fresh, great ingredients, and a perfect garlicky sauce. Their food has large portions and great sides like hummus, naan, and a great lentil soup. The lentil soup comes free with every entree and is amazing! I've never dined in and don't know if I would, this food is perfect for takeout (even sitting in the car for a bit) and is best eaten around a dinner table at home. They do have limited outdoor seating, but the food does travel well and does well for takeout. Better than eating in a parking lot in my opinion. I'm excited to keep going back! read more

This is my once a week go to restaurant. I have eaten here or ordered to go, easily more than 300 times. I love everything on the menu especially the MK salad with chicken, the MK salad without chicken, and any of the chicken sandwiches. When ordering the salad always request an extra pita. You also have to buy the MK dressing to take home. It's great on your own salad at home or even on vegetables that you steam. Every time I make a dish for a group event using their salad dressing it is a total hit! Even though the prices aren't cheap, It's worth that because the ingredients are very fresh and the vegetables would take me an hour + to cut up if I was making the salad at home The best thing about this place other than the food is Zuri and his staff! I feel like a family member or friend , rather than a customer because I come in so often. They always take care of me and they're always smiling and happy when I come in. One time I inadvertently forgot my wallet at home and they were fine with me calling in as soon as I got back with the credit card number so they could accept payment. I can't tell you how much better that was than having to drive home and come back! I have passed by this place so many times and finally decided to try it. I placed a pickup order, and the food was ready in about 15 mins. I got Zahrah, Chicken Shawarma plate, and Shish Tawook plate. I loved Zahrah, and the Chicken Shawarma plate. The hummus was very good, and the pita that came with it was very good. It's three and a half years later and I'm still loving this place. I love how they maintain the quality and portion sides. I don't mind if they need to raise prices to handle inflation, just keep doing what you're doing and don't compromise. My go-to dishes these days are falafel plate and humus appetizer. There's a lot of lemon juice added, the main taste is just sourness. I love gyro but this is the first time I have such sour gyro plate. Even the hummus is sour, pita is not fresh. If you like really sour food, you may like it. But it's not for me. read more

I've been coming here for about 10 years to different locations, and I feel some recent decisions have really set this place back a little bit. I don't understand the justification to use plastic for everything if you're eating there, they used to give metal forks and spoons and put your soup into a bowl if you were eating there. Now you just get it in a plastic container with the lid on while eating there... The meat portion sizes have certainly gone down a little, but the prices are about the same, so a little bit of shrink inflation has occurred. Overall still a great taste and really like this place but some of these changes don't make a lot of sense. read more

I have been coming to Mediterranean Kitchen for the last fifteen years or so and it has always been my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area. Unfortunately that has changed the last couple of times that we've been in. The food tastes different and the quality just isn't consistent. I always get the chicken schwarma or chicken salad. The portion sizes have gotten considerably smaller which I can understand but the food is also now too spicy. The chicken in the chicken schwarma was so spicy that my son couldn't eat it and the garlic sauce on the chicken salad was also extremely spicy. I have never had spicy chicken schwarma and it was really disappointing to spend so much on a meal that my son took one bite of and then had to spit out because it was unexpectedly spicy. read more

Pre-Covid, we would use the Bellevue Mediterranean Kitchen to cater our office lunch events frequently, and their food was always great. I knew they had multiple places, but did not realize they had one in Kirkland just a few miles from my house. LOL, I feel so dumb. It is in the Totem Lake area, in a strip mall on 124, next to the UPS store, across from the Azteca. Grabbed a Gyro salad, and it was great. The soup is excellent. The staff are wonderful. Food is justfine but not authentic enough for me. Covering everything in tzatziki sauce and feta doesn't cut it for me. The gyro plate would have been wonderful if the meat hadn't tasted like it had some kind of grain filler. The rice is generic yellow rice and not authentic outside of the US fast dining. The spanakopita could have been amazing if it wasn't greasy and cover in sauce. I want to taste the filling, not what's on top. If I were to go back I would get the falafel plate. Went there on a weekday afternoon with my spouse. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. The staff were warm and friendly. Ordered the gyro roll and the lamb roll. Extremely flavorful and both rolls were distinctly different. Very different than the other Mediterranean restaurants around. The baklava was also very flavorful and fresh. I'd been to the Bellevue outlet once, several years ago. That was a sit-down place and the food was stunningly good. The Kirkland outlet is smaller: you order from a counter and they give you your food in a styrofoam shell. The menu on display up on the board is smaller than the Bellevue menu or what the website says the menu is, but the food is extremely delicious. Algerian chicken (and now I can put Algeria on my list of countries I've had the putative food of) is pounded breast meat, reasonably tender, slightly crunchy in the cooking, and loaded with strong flavoring that is not very hot-spicy nor overwhelms the chicken. Negative side--Falafel tasted rancid--probably made at some point in the past and then kept refrigerated (not frozen) waiting to be reheated. Rancid-tasting food is not a recoverable error. Parking here is also really great and easy. The restaurant itself is spacious and has a ton of tables. FOOD // My coworker recommended the CHICKEN SCHWARMA plate! It came with one cup of soup (vegetarian pea soup) and pita as well. The portions are enormous here. I was only able to eat half and brought the rest home as leftovers. For the price, I basically got 2 meals. That's amazing. The food is insanely delicious and flavorful. Every single bite was fantastic. I was so happy with the food here!
