Super nice staff. We tried the saffron ice cream and the shawarma. The ice cream is not your typical ice cream - it has a floral taste to it from the rosewater ice and more of a nutty taste rather than sweet, which was a nice touch. The shawarma is solid - my favorite was the koobideh it was super juicy and had this umami sauce.

I have been to the Oskoo market a couple of times and I was I noticed that they have opened a Oskoo Kitchen & Bakery section just 25 feet away in the same shopping plaza. The menu looked interesting and I noticed that there were many take out orders, so I decided to swing by and give this place a try. The parking situation is easy, there are plenty of spots, unless there is a meal time rush from the nearby Shaoshan Impression, in which the parking lot can get full, but you fortunately can still snag a spot a bit further away. The kitchen and bakery itself is clean and minimalist with a TV playing some music and several small tables and chairs set up. You take your order, and they will get back to you when your food is done. It unfortunately took them half an hour to get my order out that day, maybe it was a combination of higher takeout order volume that day, or under staffed, or something else - I didn't think my order was particularly complex. It even seemed like people who arrived later to pick up their takeout order had to wait an additional 10-20 minutes as well before getting their food. I tried the Beef Tongue Melt ($16) and the Pistachio Cheesecake ($6), which were decent. The sandwich was tasty, the beef tongue was tender and had a pleasant fall apart texture, and was nicely held together with the melted cheese. The rich flavors of cheese and meat where complimented will with the acidity from the pickles. The house made bread was good - the crust wasn't hard and the bread had a well-made spongy texture. With the price, I think I was expecting a bigger sandwich, as tasty as it was, it was small. Personally, I think you could get way 2x - 3x more beef tongue from a nearby taco spot for a fraction of the price and have the texture and taste be just as good if not better. The photo may have it look like a lot, but to be honest, I think majority of people could easily finish one of these sandwiches and finish half of another if they were hungry. The pistachio cheesecake was alright, I think if you are looking for a chocolate ganache forward cheesecake, this will be your jam. The texture is pleasant and the taste is good, but it does get a bit one dimensional the more you eat it. I think that Oskoo kitchen and bakery is an alright place in the Belred area in terms of food. The competition there is fierce with the amount of other delicous options in the area. I think I might give this place one more try in the future - I would recommend giving them a call to place your order in the future due to a longer wait time.

Let's get the negatives out of the way first: Wait was long Decor is very minimal -- feels like the place has way more potential than what you see NOW... the sandwich ‍ Absolutely worth it. I expected the usual boring pita. Nope. The Persian bread was the real MVP -- soft, fresh, and took this sandwich to another level. The koobideh was juicy, flavorful, and clearly done right. Sauces were perfectly balanced -- present, tasty, and not overpowering. Bottom line: Come for the sandwich, not the vibes. I'd wait again... but only because that bread earned it

MUST TRY - Koobideh Sandwhich!!! And get the fresh baked Barbari Bread--to die for with butter and honey smeared on. On my last visit a new line-up of home made pickled goods was offered on the counter. I bought what looked like summer veggie garden in a jar (I'm told it's called Torshi). It's the perfect and most delicious accompaniment/garnish ever.

Expensive, skimpy on meat, long wait time. Nothing remarkable. Stop believing social media!

Food was truly good even though it's a bit further out to get to Caspian. The new addition I noted…read morethis time was the oven baked chicken which has a flavor similar to the sauce in the lamb shank. My favorite item to order at Canada based Iranian restaurants. Caspian here also serves the best jeweled rice - nuts, preserved candied carrots, over saffron rice. Heavenly!

We were a bit weary due to the low reviews but this is pretty nice restaurant. While you might not…read moreget an enthusiastic welcome in with huge smiles- you get a greeting in a pretty atmosphere (music was not blasting so you could have a conversation!), extremely clean and nicely set up (every single water glass I saw was crystal clean- something I rarely see now days). The people working are calm and professional. On to the food-- we had the ground chicken skewers (our fav and will order again), the lamb shank (lacking in excitement but nice cut of meat nicely cooked), hummus (pretty good), shabzi salad, and yogurt/spinach dish (zingy and good). We are never fans of the thin dry lavash at these restaurants but that is not a negative since it is traditional. It does make eating the hummus and other appetizers less appealing and we long for something less paper-like. Our water glasses were always filled, plates cleared at perfect times, and dishes came out at decent times. Negatives: sour cherry rice was the worst we've had - giant sweet cherries with a splash of rose water was not good- overly sweet and unpleasant. Dessert- Zoolbia (fried dough with syrup) Our kids ate it because it was sweet but as soon as we walked out of the restaurant they both said it was actually not good and made their tummy hurt- it looked quite old.. maybe left over from weekend. They should just say they are out if it's old. Pros: very clean, professional, good ground chicken kabobs. Overall- we will be back and know what to avoid. Looking forward to trying some other items.

Having been to the Middle East and Mediterranean a few times, I'm obsessed with authentic foods…read morefrom that region. Just the best. I stopped in Jasmine Kitchen fresh off an airplane and WOW. First it was around 3pm, which is dead time for most restaurants. The two men could not have been nicer and my food was fresh and amazing in a clean and cool environment. Even the bathrooms were clean and nice (which is a huge element to the overall experience). Service was great too, even with two men. I order a kofta kebab plate which came with saffron rice and great pita and a small salad and a garlic sauce that would be amazing on a leather boot. I also had the walnut baklava which was about the best I've ever had. The flavors were all spot on - juicy and tender and wonderful - every bite of the whole meal. In fact I was tempted to get the whole thing again. But decided to wait until the VERY next time I'm in town.

This place looks like typical updated dive spot but is very clean inside. I got the Beef and Lamb…read moreGyro Plate which comes with jasmine rice, hummus, a small salad, pita bread, and sauce. The service was super quick and the flavor and quality of ingredients are excellent. The price is reasonable at $16.99 and the portion is generous. They ask if you want to dine in or take out but they are both served in a to-go container with the only difference being you either get a bag or a tray. :) One improvement suggestion would be to provide sriracha hot sauce as many other similar businesses do. Overall I recommend this place for an affordable, delicious, quick meal with no frills.
