A lot of space in there (deceiving from the outside!), I've never had an issue finding somewhere to sit, even on its busiest, they find you a seat as quick as they can. We stumbled across this place on our way home from Seattle. We got there a little after noon on a Sunday and it was not so busy. The servers greeted us right away and were patient with us as we looked through the menu. So many options! They had brunch menu that had a Dutch oven pancake that I will need to try next time. Fries and chips left something to be desired for which I ding -0.5 stars- both seemed a bit bland and undersalted, but they give a huge portion. Will certainly be back for the brats and to try other things on the menu. I should also mention really bustling/loud ambiance. What a great way to end my honeymoon! Before hoping on a flight back home - we couldn't resist stopping here and we were truly blown away by the staff, atmosphere, and food. I wish I could transport myself back to this pub for their delicious "German Mac n cheese." The whole table devoured it in seconds - I didn't even have time to take a photo. Our first stop in town was for drinks and dinner. It happened to be happy hour which had some good deals. Our bartender was friendly and took pretty good care of us. We started with an order of happy hour fries with their curry ketchup and we loved them. They were thin and crispy just how I like. For dinner, I had the Jager Schnitzel and it was delicious. My colleague had one of their sausage plates and enjoyed it as well. I'm a big fan of German food and this hit the spot perfectly. Their menu is full of authentic dishes and beers. Thanks Yelpers for the recommendation! Arrived in time for happy hour and sat at the bar. About four minutes past three and there are already a hendful of tables occupied. (They close after lunch and reopen at three) That's a good sign. The single bartender was managing the bar, the tables in the bar area and the bar orders from the rest of the restaurant. Holy smokes! This guy was working hard and staying on top of it all! We ordered a Berliner Bratwurst and a Berliner burger from the Happy Hour menu. They both come with sides. Be aware the online menu shows the Berliner burger w/o bacon, while the in house menu shows it w/bacon so specify if you do-or-do not want bacon. The house made bratwurst is excellent. Nice 'snap' when you cut into it. Good flavor. The burger is very good and the bun is very nice. Lettuce, tomato and onion are on the side. Tiny pickles are also on the side and they pack a tart flavor punch. The french fries are very good. I ordered a curry sauce on the side to dip the fries in and it has a nice pop of curry flavor. The hot potato salad, that another reviewer said was too vinegary, was dry and not much flavor on our visit. Maybe they need to mix that up before plating to redistribute the dressing. There are a good number of German beers on tap, plus wine and a full bar. All the staff were excellent. Everything is clean. There is a variety of seating: bar, high top, regular table, picnic style tables. Restrooms are down a hall near the entrance. Parking can be a challenge: On-street or find a public lot nearby. Crossing the street is tough too - very busy road. We definitely plan to return. Food was very good, great staff, nice vibe. read more

Went with a group of friends. Lots of pretzels were ordered, came w/ Dijon mustard and beer cheese, all excellent as expected. I ordered the Happy Hour bratwurst (forgot to get a photo but there's one on the digital menu) and added a salad for a $2 upcharge. It came with a "bun", a large slab of white bread (may have been sour dough) that had been lightly toasted then a small cut added lengthwise turned it into a bun. Not sure if I was supposed to put part of my brat in there with the kraut and mustard but I chose to ignore it altogether. ;) The meal was terrific, again as expected. Always a good time here, we come here every few months for a date night and it's the perfect place for any size of group. The pretzel is a must get for us along with any of the sausages. However our favorite always end up being the smoked cheese sausage along with the bratwurst of course. The smoked cheese has such a good bite on it and the bratwurst has so many flavors and herbs packed in it. You know, I'm giving them a one for the fact that they have a service fee of 3% which I wasn't aware of till I got my bill sent to me through my phone. I don't think restaurant should add extra fees if you're not happy with your menu or your prices change them, but don't add on extra little fees. I called and ask what the fee was and left a message but nobody responded. I guess it's just the owner's way of making a few extra bucks off every ticket which I'm sure adds up at the end of the day. The food was good. It was my first time there the waitress was very nice very friendly and I liked the atmosphere, but I will not return because I disagree with these hidden little fees. They also have like twenty different beers on tap as well as a number of cocktails and seasonal drinks. My favorites are the Prickly Pear beer (which tastes like a honey seltzer) and the Munich Noire Shandy (which is a seasonal winter offering that tastes like a Ghirardelli raspberry dark chocolate bar in my opinion). The prices are very reasonable- my boyfriend got 1L of Prickly Pear beer for like $8! Service is fantastic. All servers are super nice and attentive. They have trivia nights on Wednesdays and I think Karaoke sometime over the weekend? The place is family friendly, but it's mostly just adults in the evenings. They have a back patio open when it's not raining cats and dogs. The decor is Gothic/Medieval era and they have their club members' beer steins lined along the walls which is a pretty cool addition. Yum! Our daughter and daughter in law live near by and recommend this German Pub for a bite to eat before heading off to a show. It's definitely got the German vibe with beer steins and all. In fact my daughter joined their loyalty program and now her stein, her name on it and all, is ready when she comes in. We ordered several items to share. The pretzel is probably the best pretzel we have had! It had a great chewy texture, was moist and served warm. I highly recommend ordering it with the cream cheese and maple syrup. We also enjoyed the sausage board charcuterie board. It provides you with a large variety of sausages, dips and small Sides like pickles and radishes (yes, a true German side) to snack on. The fries were hot and crispy. Our daughters shared a salad that also looked great and they said tasted good. Chicken wings - recommend ordering them. Again great portion size, cooked well with a bit of an outside crispy bite but moist inside. Lastly we all shared the dessert. We enjoyed sitting in the back patio where their small dog could join us for the afternoon. I wish we had those pretzels near us! Or maybe it's a good thing for the waistline they aren't. Bekah (sp?) was great and kept asking us how we were doing and if we needed anything else. We had the pretzel with cheese and mustard which was delicious! It was a huge pretzel, warm, with salt and came with a soupy cheese and ground mustard and a rich house mustard. I also had the wurst place with currywurst and bockwust. Its been awhile since I went to the Berliner! It was a place I frequented with friends after work before COVID and we were excited to see that it reopened soon after. The place still had the lively vibe with a Bavarian feel to the place which was nice to revisit and the food is still authentic & delicious! This spot reminded my husband and I of our childhood's growing up in the Midwest. How did we just discover this spot?! Berliner has an airy interior with wood beam ceilings and a charming outdoor patio/biergarten (there was a party there so we ended up sitting inside and a wide hewn wood table). It can be a bit loud but it didn't bother our 11 yr old (on the autism spectrum and does have sensory sensitivity) and we saw other little people there as well. The table was clean. The service was fantastic--she was not only friendly but super attentive. Our youngest drained his small water cup quickly and she noticed and brought a large glass for him with a straw. The food was all great. The wiener schnitzel was cooked to perfection and loved the touch of dill on the fries. I loved the sauerkraut and red cabbage and we were all fighting over the German mustard. Our server recommended the andouille sausage and she was so on point--really good. Our youngest loved the sliders and the spaetzle was good but wish it had a little bit less cheese. The salad was a nice balance to all of the gluttony. This is the best German spot we've found here in Seattle. We hope to come here more often just need to make sure we do activity to burn off some for the calories :). read more

Try the schnitzel, giant pretzel with cheese, and the cheese plate!
