First visit to the Berliner left me impressed! It was easy to walk in, grab a seat, and scan tableside QR menus. Bonus - the service was fantastic, beer was fresh, and the food was delicious. We tried the wurstplatte with sauerkraut and warm potato salad, and schnitzel with spaetzel. No regrets - both were delicious! The space was very large with plenty of seating. I came here during happy hour and had the currywurst. The food came out within minutes and it was great. I wish the fries were a tad more salty, but that is just my preference for fries. Unfortunately, I did not have any drinks as I am cutting weight. This place is one of the go to places that my buddies and I come after work so I recommend coming here! read more

We went to watch the World Cup final here. The friendly staff was terrific. The food is great. We had the brunch which offered items not offered on weekdays. If you are looking for a family friendly place for the kids to come, they are welcomed too. If you are not sure what to order ask your server they are always happy to give you suggestions. We stumbled across this place on our way home from Seattle. We got there a little after noon on a Sunday and it was not so busy. The servers greeted us right away and were patient with us as we looked through the menu. So many options! They had brunch menu that had a Dutch oven pancake that I will need to try next time. We tried the wings that were so crispy and amazing! The corn dogs were also really good with their German sausage. The pretzel was good but it wasn't my favorite. It tasted too yeasty for my liking. 4.5 stars. The Bratwurst were so yummy and the crusty bread and mustard and sauerkraut were sooo perfect. Good beer selection, 0.3/0.5/1L options which is fun! Fries and chips left something to be desired for which I ding -0.5 stars- both seemed a bit bland and undersalted, but they give a huge portion. Will certainly be back for the brats and to try other things on the menu. I should also mention really bustling/loud ambiance. We came during the Oktoberfest celebration so there was a band with live music (that was also super duper loud). Not sure if this was a one-off or typical for Saturday night. Have been here a few times over the years. Good reliable service, with hearty food and decent prices. Happy hour really is a great deal. A lot of space in there (deceiving from the outside!), I've never had an issue finding somewhere to sit, even on its busiest, they find you a seat as quick as they can. The currywurst and pretzels are very tasty, and the jagerschnitzel dish is huge! What a great way to end my honeymoon! Before hoping on a flight back home - we couldn't resist stopping here and we were truly blown away by the staff, atmosphere, and food. I wish I could transport myself back to this pub for their delicious "German Mac n cheese." The whole table devoured it in seconds - I didn't even have time to take a photo. You can't go wrong with any food dish honestly. You will leave this place full and satisfied, but already craving to come back for your favorites. Berliner Pub in Renton has great pub food and a fun vibe, with a solid selection of beer and food. I'm taking off one star because they were severely understaffed during the South Korea-Czechia World Cup game. Our waiter was so busy that when we finally flagged him down, his response was, "Let me find your waiter," only to come back a minute later, apologize, and say, "Yes, I am your waiter." Because of that, it took us about an hour to order another round and dessert. It wasn't a huge deal since we were watching the game, but on a normal day, I would have been pretty frustrated. read more

Our first stop in town was for drinks and dinner. It happened to be happy hour which had some good deals. Our bartender was friendly and took pretty good care of us. We started with an order of happy hour fries with their curry ketchup and we loved them. They were thin and crispy just how I like. For dinner, I had the Jager Schnitzel and it was delicious. My colleague had one of their sausage plates and enjoyed it as well. I'm a big fan of German food and this hit the spot perfectly. Their menu is full of authentic dishes and beers. The food all arrived quickly and was full of flavor. The atmosphere is an escape from the PNW and you're brought to an authentic pub in Germany. We will definitely be back. read more

Thanks Yelpers for the recommendation! Arrived in time for happy hour and sat at the bar. About four minutes past three and there are already a hendful of tables occupied. (They close after lunch and reopen at three) That's a good sign. The single bartender was managing the bar, the tables in the bar area and the bar orders from the rest of the restaurant. Holy smokes! This guy was working hard and staying on top of it all! We ordered a Berliner Bratwurst and a Berliner burger from the Happy Hour menu. They both come with sides. Be aware the online menu shows the Berliner burger w/o bacon, while the in house menu shows it w/bacon so specify if you do-or-do not want bacon. The house made bratwurst is excellent. Nice 'snap' when you cut into it. Good flavor. The burger is very good and the bun is very nice. Lettuce, tomato and onion are on the side. Tiny pickles are also on the side and they pack a tart flavor punch. The french fries are very good. I ordered a curry sauce on the side to dip the fries in and it has a nice pop of curry flavor. The hot potato salad, that another reviewer said was too vinegary, was dry and not much flavor on our visit. Maybe they need to mix that up before plating to redistribute the dressing. There are a good number of German beers on tap, plus wine and a full bar. All the staff were excellent. Everything is clean. There is a variety of seating: bar, high top, regular table, picnic style tables. Restrooms are down a hall near the entrance. Parking can be a challenge: On-street or find a public lot nearby. Crossing the street is tough too - very busy road. We definitely plan to return. Food was very good, great staff, nice vibe. read more

Went with a group of friends. Lots of pretzels were ordered, came w/ Dijon mustard and beer cheese, all excellent as expected. I ordered the Happy Hour bratwurst (forgot to get a photo but there's one on the digital menu) and added a salad for a $2 upcharge. It came with a "bun", a large slab of white bread (may have been sour dough) that had been lightly toasted then a small cut added lengthwise turned it into a bun. Not sure if I was supposed to put part of my brat in there with the kraut and mustard but I chose to ignore it altogether. ;) The meal was terrific, again as expected. The warm interior of this pub, with all the dark wood and beams, is always very cozy to me. read more

Always a good time here, we come here every few months for a date night and it's the perfect place for any size of group. The pretzel is a must get for us along with any of the sausages. However our favorite always end up being the smoked cheese sausage along with the bratwurst of course. The smoked cheese has such a good bite on it and the bratwurst has so many flavors and herbs packed in it. We downed the food with the kolsch fruh beer (very light/ fruity) and the weihenstephan dunkel weiss (creamy and aromatic) which was our favorite of the two. read more

Visited on a Saturday night and spent a good 2 hours here. Definitely a place to hang out, enjoy some beer, and catch up with friends. It wasnt so packed at 7 pm. There were plenty of seats available near the back. The servers were spectacular. They gave us space, and tended to us when we wanted to order or had questions. We got food on a timely manner as well. Only downside was food was just ok. Fries were super salty and buns were soggy. You know, I'm giving them a one for the fact that they have a service fee of 3% which I wasn't aware of till I got my bill sent to me through my phone. I don't think restaurant should add extra fees if you're not happy with your menu or your prices change them, but don't add on extra little fees. I called and ask what the fee was and left a message but nobody responded. I guess it's just the owner's way of making a few extra bucks off every ticket which I'm sure adds up at the end of the day. The food was good. It was my first time there the waitress was very nice very friendly and I liked the atmosphere, but I will not return because I disagree with these hidden little fees. Berliner Pub has such a fun and cozy atmosphere. They serve all your classic German grub like bratwursts, pretzels, schnitzels, curry fries, etc.. They also have like twenty different beers on tap as well as a number of cocktails and seasonal drinks. My favorites are the Prickly Pear beer (which tastes like a honey seltzer) and the Munich Noire Shandy (which is a seasonal winter offering that tastes like a Ghirardelli raspberry dark chocolate bar in my opinion). The prices are very reasonable- my boyfriend got 1L of Prickly Pear beer for like $8! Service is fantastic. All servers are super nice and attentive. They have trivia nights on Wednesdays and I think Karaoke sometime over the weekend? The place is family friendly, but it's mostly just adults in the evenings. They have a back patio open when it's not raining cats and dogs. The decor is Gothic/Medieval era and they have their club members' beer steins lined along the walls which is a pretty cool addition. Yum! Our daughter and daughter in law live near by and recommend this German Pub for a bite to eat before heading off to a show. It's definitely got the German vibe with beer steins and all. In fact my daughter joined their loyalty program and now her stein, her name on it and all, is ready when she comes in. We ordered several items to share. The pretzel is probably the best pretzel we have had! It had a great chewy texture, was moist and served warm. I highly recommend ordering it with the cream cheese and maple syrup. We also enjoyed the sausage board charcuterie board. It provides you with a large variety of sausages, dips and small Sides like pickles and radishes (yes, a true German side) to snack on. The fries were hot and crispy. Our daughters shared a salad that also looked great and they said tasted good. Chicken wings - recommend ordering them. Again great portion size, cooked well with a bit of an outside crispy bite but moist inside. Lastly we all shared the dessert. Went here for the first time to try their food and beers. The ambiance is nice. You walk in and seat yourself. Bekah (sp?) was great and kept asking us how we were doing and if we needed anything else. We had the pretzel with cheese and mustard which was delicious! It was a huge pretzel, warm, with salt and came with a soupy cheese and ground mustard and a rich house mustard. I also had the wurst place with currywurst and bockwust. Both were delicious and it came with a side of mustard and sauerkraut. I ordered the house made chips and they were delicious and had a slightly sweet seasoning which set off the savory sausages. We absolutely love this place! They have their pretzel on the happy hour which we have enjoyed many times. I love trying the different ciders and my husband enjoys all the different German beers.
