Absolutely terrible experience at Patty's Eggnest in Kenmore. I ordered a gyro sandwich, but they brought me a gyro omelette instead. When I told the waiter it was the wrong item, he came back with the menu, yelled at me, and demanded I show him what I ordered. I pointed to the correct item, and he rudely insisted, "No you didn't." Completely unacceptable behavior. The food itself was awful -- full of lettuce and sauce, barely any meat (literally only 3 small pieces), and just sloppy overall. On top of that, the waiter never asked if we wanted coffee, just poured it without a word. We assumed it was complimentary since he didn't say anything, but then we were charged for it on the bill. Extremely rude service, poor quality food, and a very uncomfortable dining experience. Go somewhere else -- this place is not worth your time or money

Well you know this is a very cute location. I have been to Patty's egg next for years over in Bothell. Great diner style food. I frankly don't think it's much better than an IHOP or a Denny's. If you want really good food you got to go to something like rusty pelican. Usually breakfast places on the weekend have their top-notch staff. However if this was the top-notch staff that we encountered, I would definitely not go here on a weekday. Cooks seemed all right. Staff was okay. And the food well mediocre. My sweetest pancakes seemed a little bit burnt and lacking and cream. We had a table full of people. Everybody ordered food and a friend showed up late so we just asked for an extra plate. $2 service fee for a plate. Now maybe if it was one person and you asked for sharing I don't know maybe. But you got over $150 worth of food going out here and one person shows up just to celebrate the birthday late and you want to charge for a plate. And that person did order hot tea which was $3.50. so nickel and diming not a big fan of. In our group The breakfast burrito was probably the best order of the day. The pancakes mediocre. The poached eggs were horrible. If you ask for some extra hot water for your tea between the eye rolling took a good 10-15 minutes just to get an extra cup of hot water which then they tried to charge us for. I know they have some poor reviews here. But we thought we would go anyways because it is such a nice location and many of us have been to the other Patty's egg nests around town. However I will not be going back.

I'm excited they have opened a new location in Kirkland. I had an omelet spinach, mushrooms and Swiss cheese with a side of bacon. All was delicious. The only drawback was service was a bit slow. I had to ask for refills on my drink instead of being proactive. But all in all it was a good experience. I'll be going back.

As said the service was fine but the food - hearth roasted mushroom frittata and breakfast burrito - was decidedly bland and under seasoned. Frittata was covered with an excessive mound of arugula. While peppery, it's asking a lot of arugula to carry/cover for a bland unseasoned water bath baked egg concoction with minimal caramelized onions and flavorless mushrooms. Desperately needs some herbs, garlic or strong cheese, some crisp edges... something. A side of chicken apple sausage was just okay. Breakfast burrito was disappointing in its own ways. Tortilla was gelatinously clinging together as if it had been prepared in advance, then reheated, and covered in what was called salsa but was more akin to basic excessively mild tomato enchilada sauce. The carnitas pork was unseasoned and dry. Potatoes were soft and lacking a crisp element that would have helped immensely. The only place salt seemed to show up was in the salted maple latte and in that it was a bit heavy. Likely not stopping back anytime soon.

Apparently they "stopped doing that" in September, which was unclear from their website or Yelp reviews/pics, and it wasn't just me--the table next to me asked their server the same thing. My friend and I got brunch-y drinks (mimosa, spicy Bloody Mary), and then each got one of the only two items on the menu that had eggs (shakshuka and a breakfast sandwich). While I can't comment on the shakshuka, the breakfast sandwich had thick bread that was toasted a bit too much and wrecked the roof of my mouth. The drinks were good but the sandwich + a mimosa set me back $30 before tip so I don't think I'll be coming back again--certainly not during "brunch" time!

The heavenly aroma of freshly prepared food wafted through the air, teasing our senses and building excitement while the cozy decor instantly elevated our mood. With an exceptional selection of wine and drinks, plus captivating indoor and outdoor seating, it seemed every whim was thoughtfully catered to. Despite arriving at 1:00 to a lively crowd, we were seated promptly, thanks to the impeccable and exceptional service. However, yesterday on 6/28 when the wait was too long so I decided to choose takeout, it was the worst service I've ever experienced. I walked inside, placed the takeout order, and was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. I went outside to the bench to wait to realize the server didn't take my name for the order. After about 20 minutes had passed, I walked back inside to look for someone. I saw another server walk over when I was lost and waiting and she ended up helping another group who walked in after me, so I was ignored. Then I initiated the conversation and asked about my order and she said "Oh please wait outside and we will come out to give you your order when it's ready." I glanced over and noticed someone bagging takeout orders, so I walked back outside. Another 25 minutes passed and no one has come out to deliver my takeout order. It was about 45 minutes since I placed the order and I was not happy. I walked back inside and asked the server behind the counter. Mind you this is the 3rd server. They asked what I ordered (since my name was not taken down when the order was placed, it made it unorganized) and one of the two takeout bags that was sitting on the counter for a good 20 minutes I noticed it was my order. When I got home, the burger buns were all soggy and the fries were soft and not crispy anymore. This is such an unfortunate situation because I've always shared positive comments about The Cottage, but with the experience I had yesterday, I will be rethinking to come back.

I honestly don't get it, but I still tipped above 15% for the service regardless. Service was very attentive, so I do feel they deserve a reasonable tip. But if the restaurant needs the customer to help them pay for their staff with this added surcharge to the bill, then maybe it's better for the staff to find a better job. Seems strange to me. But anyways, regardless, I enjoyed the food quite a bit. I'm usually a pretty tough critique on Italian food since it's one of my favorite cuisines. So for me to say the food is good should say a lot. I got their chicken risotto and I was impressed by it. I also got an opportunity to try some of their pizza and the crust was done very well. Not a floppy pizza. They have a proper pizza oven for baking it. Very good! The restaurant atmosphere feels quite high end. Great for date night, business dinners, or a fancy family meal. The restaurant did feel a bit crowded and tight though. Especially with how busy it was. I honestly think this place has great food. I just hope the staff gets paid enough. Like, I'll tip! Just don't have me pay for what the employer should be paying them. Just have me pay them for their great service.

I absolutely love their specialty drinks like honey cardamom, and a shakerato. The vibe and atmosphere is wonderful. It's usually social and low-key but never too loud. They have excellent food, matcha with option to remove sugar (not all coffee shops have this!). Generally, I feel like their staff is really great! Love the location minus the issues with parking being tricky for a quick stop, sometimes need to pay. I keep coming back here! With gas prices over six dollars and budgets getting tighter for so many the one thing that hinders me is their prices. Their baseline drinks are an average of $5.75 + tip. Quiche slice is $8 two hard boiled eggs near $4. Typical typically if I'm gonna spend almost $10 I'd rather buy a fancy drink like a bubble tea or go out for an appetizer and food. When you own your own espresso machine and Matcha at home it's hard to justify getting such expensive drinks unless there is that "I can't make this at home" appeal - housemade syrups, Boba, etc I do love that urban coffee lounge has pour over options which can be time-consuming and cold brew, which is delicious and also more time-consuming. I appreciate their presence in the neighborhood. Having lived in Seattle for so long with so much access to incredible coffee I appreciate urban coffee lounges level of expertise with coffee. It is more rare on the east side. (Zoka is great of course!) And I will keep coming back, but sparingly due to prices. (Am I the only one who feels this way? Let me know!)
