Here to write an updated review. We visited on a Friday evening and it was super busy. We didn't have any reservation and waited for an about 25 minutes before we were seated, and even after we were seated the service was extremely slow...clearly they were understaffed in the kitchen. The food was good as usual though and so were all the cocktails we ordered but yeah the service was so slow, and our kiddos got really hungry. I think the manager did well when we brought our concerns to him and kindly waived the kids' meals. Love the ambiance of this restaurant both indoors and on the patio. It's a cute vibe! Lots of gluten free options yay

Went for Seattle restaurant week since this spot is usually out of my budget! Was crazy to see a once-dive bar turned into fine dining. They nailed the vibe in here. Dark and moody but still really elegant. We were greeted quickly by our server which was lovely. They were able to make me an espresso martini that was decaf! When the drink came out, I double checked that it was decaf and the woman (not our server) wasn't 100% sure so said our table could keep that one and that she would make us a new one. So kind! I got the devilled eggs to start. Really good, but definitely a sharing dish. The cod was good, but not sure I would pay full menu price for it as I did not find it to be very flavorful. The flourless chocolate cake had a rather small portion, btu was fantastic! Service and ambiance were top notch.

Stopped in for Seattle restaurant week. They were pretty busy during this time but our service was still good. It did take a bit to get food and drinks out. We had three of us that got steaks and ordered them all cooked differently and they all came out cooked the same. For four ounces wasn't worth sending it back but we didn't see any difference between the rare, medium rare, and medium steak. The food and drinks were great otherwise. It's a bummer to be charged 3% to use a credit card. I know things are expensive these days but all over it says prefer cash next to this. At this price point, I don't think many people have that much cash on them. I'd expect this at somewhere cheaper.

What a beautiful night and beautiful evening. This place is in the heart of Jaunita. It used to be a fun sports bar with pools tabs, darts and fun drinks. They have since closed that restaurant and opened up Sparrow. The first time I came here I wasn't impressed. They had only been open a few weeks so it was okay, nothing to write home about. The second time I came I was very impressed. It was a nice night so we got to sit outside on the patio. We enjoyed a bottle of rose and I ordered the shrimp arugula salad which was amazing and a side of sweet potato fries. My friend got the spaghetti squash pasta which was also a fan favorite. For desert we split the bread pudding. Not enough words to describe. I will definitely come back to this place.

This is such a cute space! The food is really good. I want to come back and try everything on the menu. It's been too cold to be out of the patio but I can't wait to see if it gets any sun during the summer. Took off a star because the menu changes every so often so you had to check for updates.

Just loved the plaace and amazing food. It's a great brunch place with unique food options. Service was quick and ambiance is beautifully and cozy

Fabulous brunch on the weekends!! Definitely start with the delicious donut holes, you will not be sorry. Easy to make a reservation online. Very large beautiful outdoor seating area as well as a smaller enclosed, lovely outdoor space out back. We've always had great service and a lovely experience at Sparrow. Super cute photo op in the enclosed area

My co worker had the ribeye and it was amazing. The burrata I had was a little dry, I wouldn't order it again. Our service was good and drinks were tasty. Loved the fresh oysters.

I had my mom's birthday brunch here and it was fantastic. Ivan was our server and he did a wonderful job checking on us and providing a special experience for my mom and our group. I ordered the avocado toast with crab added and it was so flavorful. Well-portioned too. I also ordered a vanilla latte, which was way too sweet for my taste, but was still drinkable. The lighting is very dim, which made for a very cozy atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

Food was pretty solid overall! I did have the oysters though and pretty sure I got food poisoning... the next morning I couldn't leave the toilet (and I don't drink alcohol either lol). Vibes were great, I'd just skip the oysters next time.

    Truffle Deviled eggs. Fresh Oysters

We came in for a light snack. The bartender Ryan suggested the oysters n deviled eggs. We were absolutely amazed! He was extremely knowledgeable and great at recommending exactly what we we were looking for.

They have both great outdoor seating and inviting indoor dining as well. I started with a nice London Fog made with Earl Gray from Smith Teamaker. It comes in one size - large. My Mom got the Eggs Benedict with fresh dill which she enjoyed even though there was a slight hiccup. The English muffin under the eggs was over toasted and was very difficult to cut with a knife. But the staff was very gracious and remade the whole thing in no time. I got the roast chicken with goat cheese sandwich and my wife got the smoked turkey sandwich. Both come on bread they bake themselves. The fresh greens on both really elevated the sandwiches. DERU also has an excellent bakery case. We ordered a slice of the Coconut cake. It was a generous slice and delicious. If you don't have time to dine can walk up and order pastries to go. Will definitely be back again!

Add a bottle of vinho verde and who could complain? The ordering process was a little confusing at first, but the second visit should be easier. Pro tip: don't stand in the long line unless you're ordering to-go. Find a table, scan the QR code, and order. Fun atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and genuinely good food. My main complaint? One bathroom. Rough. Deru Cafe has an extensive menu that covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with outstanding baked goods, pizza, and nightly dinners to go. The long line of cars outside speaks to its popularity. Last year about 1,500 loyal customers picked up Thanksgiving meals here, a testament to the quality of their offerings (and to convenience.) After eating here, I get it.

Even though we had a reservation for 12:00 PM, our group of six had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. When we finally got a table, they put us in a small booth meant for four people. I asked for a bigger table, but was told all larger tables were reserved--yet many stayed empty the entire time we were there. We brought flowers for the celebration, but there was no room for them because the table was so cramped. When we asked if there was a vase or bucket for the flowers, the hostess seemed visibly annoyed, just like she was when we asked about changing tables. Our waitress, however, was wonderful and did her best to make the experience better, which we really appreciated. We were also told that we had to leave by 2:00 PM because of an event, but it seemed like we were the only ones asked to leave, and no event ever happened. To make things worse, the doors were left open, making it freezing cold inside. We were so uncomfortable that we left after only an hour to go somewhere else and warm up. I'm very disappointed. After years of coming here, I expected much better service, especially for my birthday.

I ordered a glass of wine off the menu, and their choices of wine by the glass were not good. We also tried a few appetizers; they were okay enough that we finished them, but there was absolutely nothing memorable or worth ordering a second time. The actual setup of the place is nice, it has a beautiful bar area and an outdoor seating space for nice weather. However, the vibe just wasn't incredibly welcoming. To make matters worse, the staff was very mediocre and not super friendly, which really dragged down the whole experience. I really wanted to have a better experience here given how perfect the location is, but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it. It was interesting, but the foie gras was a little too gamey. Salmon Agnolotti (3/5): Agnolotti was good and portions were solid, but the salmon was barely seasoned / extremely under salted. As said the service was fine but the food - hearth roasted mushroom frittata and breakfast burrito - was decidedly bland and under seasoned. Frittata was covered with an excessive mound of arugula. While peppery, it's asking a lot of arugula to carry/cover for a bland unseasoned water bath baked egg concoction with minimal caramelized onions and flavorless mushrooms. Desperately needs some herbs, garlic or strong cheese, some crisp edges... something. A side of chicken apple sausage was just okay. Breakfast burrito was disappointing in its own ways. Tortilla was gelatinously clinging together as if it had been prepared in advance, then reheated, and covered in what was called salsa but was more akin to basic excessively mild tomato enchilada sauce. The carnitas pork was unseasoned and dry. Potatoes were soft and lacking a crisp element that would have helped immensely. The only place salt seemed to show up was in the salted maple latte and in that it was a bit heavy. Likely not stopping back anytime soon.
