Wow, what an awesome surprise it was to discover this place. I regret not having done so sooner. Went on a Sunday evening to meet family friends. Sat outside in a beautiful covered space with plenty of heaters and enjoyed the rain tapping on the roof while dining. The service was amazing, friendly, willing to answer questions, all you could ever want. But, the star of the show was absolutely the food. Starting with the birria tacos that immediately stirred up memories of my times in CanCun when I was younger. I will be going back for lunch this week just to have those tacos again. The rest of our party had ribs, steak, sliders, pasta, and oysters, everything was perfect. High quality ingredients, perfectly cooked, well balanced flavors, some delicious twists.. 10/10 WILL go again. read more

The good: Amazing flavours. Everything we ordered was very very tasty ! The bad: Pretentious attitude and menu designed to nickel and dime you at every corner. Examples: $14 kids sliders, however no fries, but you can add them for $8, would you list a kids sliders for $22 , you wouldn't. Nice trap. $16 steam mussels shareable. However no bread, but you can add for $4. How are you supposed to eat steam mussels without bread or fries?. It's a fundamental part of the dish, as Belgians! Had the dinner prix fixe menu. Ambiance and service were nice but food was a mixed bag. Seafood chowder was solid -- fresh seafood, tasted like chowder. Halibut was dry and bland. Went for Seattle restaurant week since this spot is usually out of my budget! Was crazy to see a once-dive bar turned into fine dining. They nailed the vibe in here. Dark and moody but still really elegant. We were greeted quickly by our server which was lovely. They were able to make me an espresso martini that was decaf! When the drink came out, I double checked that it was decaf and the woman (not our server) wasn't 100% sure so said our table could keep that one and that she would make us a new one. So kind! I got the devilled eggs to start. Really good, but definitely a sharing dish. The cod was good, but not sure I would pay full menu price for it as I did not find it to be very flavorful. Here to write an updated review. We visited on a Friday evening and it was super busy. We didn't have any reservation and waited for an about 25 minutes before we were seated, and even after we were seated the service was extremely slow...clearly they were understaffed in the kitchen. The food was good as usual though and so were all the cocktails we ordered but yeah the service was so slow, and our kiddos got really hungry. I think the manager did well when we brought our concerns to him and kindly waived the kids' meals. Love the ambiance of this restaurant both indoors and on the patio. It's a cute vibe! Stopped in for Seattle restaurant week. They were pretty busy during this time but our service was still good. It did take a bit to get food and drinks out. We had three of us that got steaks and ordered them all cooked differently and they all came out cooked the same. For four ounces wasn't worth sending it back but we didn't see any difference between the rare, medium rare, and medium steak. The food and drinks were great otherwise. It's a bummer to be charged 3% to use a credit card. I know things are expensive these days but all over it says prefer cash next to this. At this price point, I don't think many people have that much cash on them. I'd expect this at somewhere cheaper. read more

Nice vibes and a comfortable outdoor seating area, particularly great for groups. The food is good quality and a lot of it if locally sourced. I have had a couple of things that were not great (the lamb tacos were SO greasy, and I had some duck that was far too salty) but the quality and taste are very good, overall. What a beautiful night and beautiful evening. This place is in the heart of Jaunita. It used to be a fun sports bar with pools tabs, darts and fun drinks. They have since closed that restaurant and opened up Sparrow. The first time I came here I wasn't impressed. They had only been open a few weeks so it was okay, nothing to write home about. The second time I came I was very impressed. It was a nice night so we got to sit outside on the patio. We enjoyed a bottle of rose and I ordered the shrimp arugula salad which was amazing and a side of sweet potato fries. My friend got the spaghetti squash pasta which was also a fan favorite. For desert we split the bread pudding. Not enough words to describe. I will definitely come back to this place. read more

We went here for brunch on a Saturday. Service was quick and friendly-they really do this well. The menu is a bit limited in that you wish for more omelette options as well as some scrambles. And the prices and portions don't say "value" to me. The food was done well except my eggs Benedict-eggs were over which is ok but you expect perfect eggs at a place like this that ooze just right (no ooze). Nice informal fun vibe. read more

Passable on my chicken sandwich, but to be honest I would have been happier with a jack in the box spicy chicken for 1/4 of the money. $85 steak? Was reportedly just okay but really? Steakhouse service is not a thing here. $16 for 8 mussels, bread not included. Do that math. $2 per bite. Experience per dollar, I won't be back. I can't wait to go back to Sparrow. The upscale ambiance with vertical gardens, outdoor seating and a great menu caught my attention. On the outside it might look a bit like a dive bar but the feel on the inside is elevated and cozy. I ordered multiple dishes to split with a friend and we ate every bite. We had the organic chicken among some other sides. Everything we had was healthy and flavorful. Our waiter was super attentive and personable too. I had my mom's birthday brunch here and it was fantastic. Ivan was our server and he did a wonderful job checking on us and providing a special experience for my mom and our group. I ordered the avocado toast with crab added and it was so flavorful. Well-portioned too. I also ordered a vanilla latte, which was way too sweet for my taste, but was still drinkable. Nice ambiance dark, relaxing and music wasn't too loud. Service was good, kind staff, food came out good time, and the bill came right away when we asked for it. Only have a few complaints the prices are far too high for quality and portion size of what you get. Ordered eggplant parm it was mediocre at best so greasy, but overall not bad. For the price though I don't think it's worth it. Other than that I would just say be careful what you order and your probably have a good time here. read more

This place is fairly new, has a nice vibe, great indoor and outdoor seating and friendly staff. I'm glad they were able to add the parking lot from the business park for evenings, makes it much easier to find a spot. Food is delicious, we liked the duck, dino, chicken sandwich, lamb bierra and they got really nice wings. They are pretty much on the higher end of pricing and this time, we found a extra fee on the bill. I just hate when restaurants are expensive and then add 3% credit card fees on top of that. No one ever brings cash, so please do the math and work your fees into the pricing. It's definitely new, we didn't have that on our bill the first times we came in. Definitely a turn off for us if you can't figure out appropriate pricing to cover your bases. So a meh going forward for us... read more

Fantastic spot! We sat outside on their lovely patio, which was lively on a summer Friday night. The inside was beautiful, will come back for a cozy winter meal. The drinks were great, I loved the rusty nail which came smoked. The crab and shrimp salad was delicious, super light and fresh with tons of crab and shrimp and a spectacular lemon dressing. We both agreed this was one of the better salads we've had out to eat. I loved deviled eggs so I couldn't resist their truffle version. Our server Ryan was attentive and delivered top notch service. Sparrow has been on our places to try for a while and it did not disappoint! We came with friends and chose to order a variety of shareables as our dinner rather than entrees. The lamb queso-birria tacos were delicious! We also enjoyed the shishito peppers and avocado buratta, fresh and flavorful. Overall the food was amazing and the ambiance was cozy. Only reason for docking a star is that our server was not prompt or attentive. Not sure if he had a bad day, but it seemed like the other servers provided better service. Would come back! read more

My compliments to the kitchen. Our Valentines brunch was excellent. Five courses of decadent Caviar, lobster, and duck was hard to beat. While our server was knowledgeable and attentive, it seemed that management couldn't figure out how to turn down the musak. You'd expect a lower volume for a romantic drawn out lunch.... But noooo. The entrées are very pricey for what they are but happy to see they have soup sandwich options that are half the cost. We made the mistake on going on Mother's Day so the service was a little bit delayed and one of the protein entrée took a little bit longer to grill. Overall, the ambience was really nice. Sparrow is in the heart of Juanita and is a stylish restaurant with great views of the water. I came here for a dinner for a birthday dinner and was impressed by the ambiance. We decided to order the truffle pasta, risotto, clams and the prosciutto pizza. All of it was bursting with flavor and absolutely divine. As in the hunk of brisket they plopped down in front of me was 20% meat and 80% inedible white fat, and was sitting in a puddle of grease. And had no flavor. Food: 2/5 Banana pancakes were a little dry and lacked significant butter flavor. One order came without syrup. Strange. Steak, eggs and hash browns had an overcooked steak and seemed very uninspired for the price. The breakfast board was decent, no complaints. The Napoleon was overwhelmingly custard/cream and next to no pastry, which led it to be highly imbalanced in flavors. Service: 2/5 I think they were understaffed. We ran out of water several times.
