Great spot for brunch, lunch or dinner. Perfect if you are celebrating a special occasion of just having a casual catch up with a friend. The service is great, friendly and knowledgeable staff and absolutely delicious food. The beignets are a must-try! And the glazed prawns. Sooo Soo good. Oh and fish and chips too! I love that they have a seasonal menu so we get to try something new almost every time we visit. Plenty of parking !

Still a great, elegant place to go! Went hear during SRW (funny, I was reading my review from SRW 2019!). Definitely a place for special occasions or a treat to yourself. Food and service are excellent! While waiting we were served amuse-bouche -- pureed salmon I think. But whatever it was, it was delicious! First course, we liked both dishes and hard to choose which one we liked more of because they were so different from each other. I'm glad I got to try them both! We appreciated the heads up from our server that that only 2 were left of the Matsutake & Chanterelle Veloute and that he can reserve both of them for us if interested. - Scallop Crudo autumn tide - charred cucumber essence, umeboshi pickled apple, toasted wild rice crackle, shiso oil - Matsutake & Chanterelle Veloute - wild foragers sunchoke, smoked huckleberry oil, spruce-toasted seed crips. Second course - another 2 equally great dishes! - Braised pork belly & wild gatherings - heritage pork belly, foraged walnut gremolata, parsnip silk, black garlic-cacao jus. - Cedar smoked sturgeon - fennel pollen lacquer, chanterelle conserva, ember roasted squash, pumpkin seed romesco Third course - 3 for 3! - Pumpkin bread pudding - orange toffee sauce, cranberry compote, white chocolate - Dark chocolate coffee ganache - crispy praline base, caramelia cremeux, chocolate cracker If you want to treat yourself to great food and service, this is the place to go! Worth every $$$$.

Huckleberry pancakes

Ambience. Design fabulous Lodge Pacific Northwest Feel. Monday morning breakfast is easy and not too busy. Big difference from their weekend branches. Pretty good coffee drinks. They make their chocolate Grenache for the mocha in house. My husband liked the huckleberry pancakes, although I thought they could have more berries There wasn't much for me except for avocado toast with fell flat. The avocado was more like a mash, and the bread was not even warm or toasted. It was bland . I only had a few bites. But they were kind and helpful. I wish they had steel cut oats I urge them to create some more options for a vegan and or just anyone who wants a lighter healthy fair. We will try them tonight

We had a delicious and expensive breakfast this morning at the Barking Frog. It wasn't crowded and we sat outside. The service is great and so is the avocado toast! It's really pretty inside and out and fun and very relaxing! Our waitress Mo is delightful! The berries are grown here and so delicious!

Went here for Seattle Restaurant Week. This is the menu choices you can have for a 3-course lunch meal at $35. I love the mushrooms appetizer and cauliflower soup (very creamy). The duck confit was also pretty good as a main dish. The Butternut squash risotto had some pickled onions or something. The dessert the honey butter ice cream was surprisingly good, and the chocolate panna cotta was very rich and really good too. The staff were super nice and really hospitable. We had a Wed lunch reservation so not alot of people which is also good.

Food was delicious, was recommended the Huevos Rancheros when my friend and I couldn't decide on a second dish! We got that and the Barking Frog platter and it was all absolutely delicious and perfect portions. We didn't have reservations so they asked if we were ok to sit at the bar. Turned out the bar is actually very spacious and comfortable. On top of all that they let us take the small jars of jam with us to-go! So fun. We'll definitely be back!

First off, it is pretty difficult to get seated here if you don't have a reservation. Food-wise, it's your standard American breakfast. The huckleberry pancakes and egg dishes are pretty good, but nothing special. Service was decent, I wished they came around with coffee refills without us having to ask multiple times. The ambience is nice, across from the hotel. Overall, this is a solid breakfast spot with your traditional breakfast dishes.

Peacan tart

Delicious lunch for restaurant week! Made reservations and was quickly seated. Service was Friendly and the food was portioned just right. Cauliflower soup was blended super well and benefited from adding salt and pepper. The mushroom appetizer was nice with all the sauce compliments eaten together vs separately. Duck confit was tender and really flavorful, complimented well with the flavors and textures of the vegetables. My risotto was a bit on the sweet side and rice texture was a bit mushy vs firm but still an ok dish. The star of the meal was dessert. Loved my peacan tart - great crust, perfect amount of crunchy and sweetness. Chocolate panna cotta w peanuts was a huge hit as well and would reorder both again!

Beignets

Came to Woodinville to do some wine tasting and a little staycation. We decided to stay at the Willows Lodge and try Barking Frog for brunch before we headed back to Seattle. I made a reservation for 12:30 and we arrived early as I hadn't realized that the restaurant was right across from the main entrance to the lodge. We were seated right away, which was nice. The place isn't huge but the set up is fairly nice and they maximize the space. Decor was also well done. I ordered a passion fruit bellini, it was good but took a little bit to come out. We had the beignets to start, they were good and the strawberry rhubarb cream cheese spread was really nice. For mains we had the the Barking Frog breakfast and the biscuits and gravy with eggs. My bf definitely enjoyed his Barking Frog breakfast, and while I overall enjoyed the biscuits and gravy it could've used a little more gravy to biscuit ratio, especially for thick semi dry biscuits. Getting my eggs over easy helped. I left probably 40% of the biscuits on plate. A good meal overall but service could've been a bit better and the time between ordering a drink, looking for our server and making eye contact with other staff and being ignored left me feeling a little weird. If a manager sees you swivelling your head 20 times and making eye contact maybe they could stop by and see if everything is okay. It was busy so I'll give them some grace. Hopefully if I ever go back the experience is a little better.

Best brunch in the Seattle metro area. I went here a few months ago, and I think of it often. All of the food tasted of incredible quality, and was well prepared too. The Beignets: Delectable Barking frog breakfast: I love that it has both bacon and sausage. Fluffy perfect eggs. I got a side of garlic Parmesan fries instead of roasted potato on my barking frog breakfast. Also stellar.

WILLOWS LODGE RESTAURANT. This restaurant is actually part of the hotel. It is elegant and nicely appointed, both inside and out. The outdoor seating is pleasant on a warm summer day with umbrellas for shade. Our friends raved about this place. It's nice, and we enjoyed our meal, but rave? I dunno. The service was excellent, and the food was above average. It is pricy and presents itself as such. This restaurant also handles all the room service for the hotel, so if you have trouble getting a reservation and are staying at the hotel, you can always return to your room and order from the menu there, although it is slightly more limited. For our appetizers, we had the caviar plate, which contained a tablespoon or less of caviar, some crème, and those little pancake-like caviar breads. Our entrees were very good as well. Cheers.

Monte cristo
Ann T.

Cozy winery feel that I enjoyed. The waiter has great recommendations. I tried their unique monte cristo and thought it was delicious with the jam it came with. The sweet potato fries were salted well. There were kids eating here too so feel free to bring children. For brunch prices, I felt like the price and quantity and quality were spot on. Parking was easy but a further walk. We didn't make reservations for a Saturday 12:40pm time and got seated immediately. I was pleasantly surprised!

Ravioli

The service was excellent and the ambiance warm and welcoming. The food was high quality and artistic. I would love to come back for their brunch!

Barking Frog Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Barking Frog

Is there a view at brunch at the Barking Frog?

I don't remember a view. The seats by the window only show the lodge across from the restaurant, so I would say no view.

Is this place kid friendly?

I would ultimately say yes, it is. It is still pretty upscale so the meals are not inexpensive. For breakfast one day they had coloring for the kids. Dinner, they didn't, but we brought stuff to entertain them as dinner took awhile.

Do you have a vegan menu?

The Barking Frog lists all their menus on their website. At this time I do not see a vegan menu.

When is brunch served and when is lunch served?

Lunch is weekdays. Brunch is weekends.

Reservation required on any day brunch?

It is advised. It is not a large place and most people make reservations. Walk-ins can have long waits.

It was a lovely sunny day so it was nice being outside - they do have large umbrellas but it doesn't cover the whole group so it can get a bit hot in direct sun. We didn't realize it, but we accidentally came during restaurant week (although we were supposed to have brunch). Since they only had 3 things on their brunch menu, we opted for the restaurant week menu. We tried the shishito peppers, poutine, tomato soup, burger, spaghetti, lemon tart, and a pate choux. A 3 course was $35 which is reasonable (portions were pretty small so easy to finish). The highlight were the tempura shishito peppers; the aioli that came with the peppers was delicious and the peppers themselves were hot and crispy. The poutine appetizers was unfortunately disappointing (very meaty, actually no curds at all and large soggy potatoes). The entrees took awhile to come out which wasn't a problem since we were just socializing. The burger was decent; it came with a goat cheese and the soup was good. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the pasta; portion was very small and it was very very salty (and had capers on top which did not help). We ended up getting our desserts to go since our group was heading to the wineries and tried them later. We did enjoy the dessert. The lemon tart portion was very small but tasty and the pate choux was also good too, so I would recommend the desserts here. I think this place is great for large groups and had a pleasant experience overall, but the rating is for the food alone which I was unfortunately pretty disappointed in.

To be charged a 4% service fee is a bit crazy based on the service. Our meal took over two hours even though it was a set menu we ordered right when we got there. We didn't have time to be enjoying drinks or anything in those two hours as our server ignored our table completely. At multiple points in the meal we had to walk inside and ask for things and if they were coming. So we were just sitting hungry staring at one another. If our server saw us, he would walk the other direction. This happened multiple times throughout the night. I think in the two hours we saw him once at our table but he did not appear overly busy. Everyone at our table has had service jobs before and know you cant help when you're slammed but he seemed to just be floating in space around the restaurant, not overly busy. We ended up needing to flag down other servers to get help. The other sections servers were helpful. Once we sat down and ordered, it took over 30 minutes to receive our glasses of wine.
