I got the garden benedict, while my fiance got the lumberjack scramble with a Belgian waffle (& of course he had to add strawberries) we were going to stop there, but couldn't resist and ordered a side of poutine. There were so many good things on the menu, we were debating of getting ALL OF THE THINGS, but it'll be even more reason to come back. Service was speedy & spectacular. Food came out quick and honestly didn't need much checking in because the food was so god dang good. It's not often that a place earns a five star from me, and yet George's knocked it out of the ballpark. Food: the Greek hash, chicken fried steak, and baklava pancake were outstanding. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak, and although it is not usually my thing, this was an exception. I just wanted more of it. Service: also outstanding--friendly, quick, and outrageously attentive. Ambiance: old school diner with well worn, yet still comfortable, booths. The place, including the restrooms were clean. It was hard to find much "wrong" with this place, and yet there are some small improvements that could be made--better quality bread for sourdough toast, heavy cream rather than half and half, and locally made preserves. Was excited to visit here for Father's Day. Food was okay but there is a new policy that does not allow outside drinks. They offered to hold our newly purchased coffee on a stand by the front of the restaurant. Upon leaving we went to grab our coffees and the staff had thrown it away. Definitely disappointed as we did order drinks in the restaurant then lost the cost of what we paid for the coffees at a place that was closed so we could not go and reorder. read more

Opened in '76 and definitely could use some loving repairs and upgrades. Parking is very limited in this area of Kirkland on Kirkland Ave. We were there during lunchtime and it very crowded and loud. Huge menu, friendly staff, slow service . Food was just OK - prices are high. I ordered the lunch combo of a 1/2 Rueben and soup. The sandwich was minimal shredded corned beef, cold sauerkraut, and dressing. Avgolemo soup was tasty! Nephew ordered the Smash burger which was soggy and a thin beef patty . NADA! Hubby and our niece had omelets which were pretty tasty. I might return to try something different but claiming to a Mediterranean restaurant it is not. Bill for 4 adults was $117 . Last time I went was 13 years ago and it was "just ok" then. This time their simple food was amazing. And my son who hates eating out because he thinks the food anywhere is "just ok" and therefore not worth the money, thought it was REALLY GOOD. !!! I've eaten at George's Place a few times and had a good experience each visit. The food is delicious and the service is good. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always spotlessly clean inside. I like the large booths near the window where you can watch people walking up and down the sidewalk. I usually get their eggs Benedict with hash browns. The eggs are always cooked perfectly and have plenty of hollandaise sauce. The hash browns are crispy on the outside, and there's plenty of them. George's isn't just a breakfast spot. They also offer a variety of burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and desserts. At any time of the day, it's a good choice. read more

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place already! This spot is an absolute stand out in downtown Kirkland. I've been here for breakfast more often than I can remember (2-3 times a month going back to 2022), and I've always come away happy. I usually get the Keto plate or one of the omelets, but enjoy this picture I took of the baklava pancakes! For dinner, I've had both their gyro and their smash burger and loved them. It's worth pointing out also that their french fries are possibly the best you'll get at any spot in the area. If all of that weren't enough, their staff are delightful and charming! read more

Wonderful service! Wonderful food! We got the Lumberjack breakfast and the Chorizo Benedict. Both incredibly delicious. The pancakes are huge so hope you like pancakes, lumberjacks. The hashbrowns were crispy and the flavors were amazing! The eggs were a tad under-poached and it was quite busy for a Friday afternoon, so service was naturally a little slower. Uncertain of what we wanted for lunch, we stumbled upon George's in Kirkland. As we walked by and saw that it was busy and plates were empty were indicators we should go in. We were not disappointed. Hubby and I family styled the pot roast melt with crispy tots and the Greek hash. Both were delicious and we both agreed the pot roast melt was our favorite because of the tender beef that was melt in your mouth delicious! Hubby also appreciated that the French roll that it was served on did not cut the roof of his mouth. The caramelized onions were a little underdone and on the crunchy side. We were seated right away, food came quickly and we were outta there in time for our next stop. Service was friendly and our water glasses were always filled. I've been coming to George's for a long time with my family and whenever we go, my sister and I always order the kids meals because we're both younger teenagers and that's what we like and they have always let us. A few weeks ago I decided to take my boyfriend who was visiting from out of town here and I suggested we get the kids waffles to save money. We ordered them with no issues but when they gave us our check, they had charged us $42 for 2 plates containing one waffle and one side of bacon (usually $10 each) as well as a small side of hashbrowns ($5). The difference wasn't huge but the way we were treated overall was very unkind which is really the most upsetting part. If we wanted $20 entrees we would've ordered something nicer because for $40 plain waffles and a strip of bacon does NOT cut it. If you don't want older kids ordering kids meals that's fine but please teach your staff how to correctly deal with a situation like that. read more

Stopped by this place for weekday brunch after an early morning errand. This place has a cute vintage vibe to it, with tables & booths with a bar seating area as well! The service was wonderful, the staff were kind and efficient and let us hang out for a bit after we finished eating, which was nice as it let us catch up a bit. It seemed that there were many Greek food influence in their menu yet some typical popular choices as well. I went with the baklava pancakes as it sounded good & i haven't had pancakes or a baklava in awhile :) Some of the other dishes chosen were the greek omelette and the chorizo benedict; both seemed to be well received too! My son lives in Bothell and I live in Bellevue, so we were trying to find a new breakfast place to meet in the middle. We trusted the reviews and went to George's. The downside is parking - there are a few parallel parking spots on the street. Otherwise, you're walking a few blocks. Hopefully you are lucky to get one of the free City parking spots. If not, there is paid parking for $1/hr, which still isn't bad. Even though it was a Sunday late morning, we had just a 5 minute or less wait and got a nice booth by the window. It was packed but our service was quick. Warning - the portions are small. That's not a negative. We Americans eat too much. Just saying if you're expecting the normal American oversized plate, its not. I got the 1/2 portion and it really was 1/2. The omelette was about 5 bites with a small portion of hash browns and a biscuit. The food was very flavorful and full of meat and cheese. Really had high hopes for this place but the food was just bad. The biscuit and gravy was mid. Flavorless and no sausage in the gravy, only thing okay was the buttery biscuit. The eggs Benedict..eggs cooked well, tender meat but very flavorless hollandaise and only a tomato for the veggie, whole thing tasted very bland. The lasagna, most flavorless of them all I really reccomend staying away from this menu item. Watered down sauce, no flavor in the meat. Even the cheese, Bland. Costco lasagna is better than this. My fiancé and I come here every friday for breakfast. We moved to kirkland in october and have been coming here for breakfast since we moved. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff are amazing. We went there this friday for breakfast and server we usually have greeted us like a friend. after our breakfast they brought us out a slice of cake to say thank you for coming around :) It seriously made our day :) I love their omelettes and am convinced they have the best english muffins I've ever had LOL. if you're looking for a mimosa, i recommend their pineapple mimosa :) My fiancé loves their chicken fried steak. Unfortunately, my friend and I had a disappointing experience. When we arrived, the host did not acknowledge us when we said "hello," which already set an uncomfortable tone. However, the main issue was the portion size and the quality of the food. We should have taken photos, but my BLT sandwich was extremely plain, served on burnt toast with overcooked bacon. My friend received an absurdly small portion of eggs Benedict. We each paid $25 for a very small and very basic meal, which felt unreasonable given the quality. No reservations required, we walked in for a brunch and were seated without any delays. Server was accommodating and attentive. It's a less noisy place for meal with family. Tables are placed a bit too close for my comfort. I had to be careful while pulling my chair to get in or out. Food: We ordered Garden scramble, Beach-walker omelet, vegetarian omelet, fried chicken waffles, spaghetti for kids, fries and drinks. I came here with a friend hoping for the best brunch and time to catch up. The food was good, but the service was a little subpar. We ordered omelet and smoked salmon egg Benedict, and both were great. In particular, the hash brown was perfectly cooked. We got there around 11am on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. We got a table after 10 minutes of wait and since we got there, there hasn't been a line. We got our food and were chatting while eating. After about 30min, the server started to ask us if we wanted a box to go, when we still had 80% of the food. I said we were still working on it but I was a little confused and thought maybe the place was getting busy. So I looked around but didn't see anyone waiting at the door and there were empty tables. Then after another 20-30min, the server just dropped off the check and walked away. We sensed that the server probably wanted us to leave, so we just left. It's rare that I leave a terrible review unless I truly meant it, however I just had a meal here this morning (10/21) and it wasn't more so the food that bothered me but the staff. Very inattentive, dismissive, and had very judging demeanors. When paying, I asked if they have a tap to pay option because I had to utilize a business card for expense purposes, and when I approached one of the servers, instead of apologizing, he proceeds to slander his colleague and saying he doesn't know what he's talking about. I had the California eggs Benny and it was incredible. Hash browns are perfectly crispy. My husband got the western omelet without sausage and the bacon they use in the omelets are soggy and yucky. During my visit as George's, the busser spilt a hot cup of coffee which then lead to my and my partners pants being all wet. No apologies, no accountability, just $3 off the tab for the spilt coffee. Another three star review because Yelp won't let us add half stars or it would have been three and a half stars. Sigh. Anyway, back to the review. This place has been in business for a long time but somehow I never had the opportunity to actually go? The location is fantastic, smack in the middle of all that downtown Kirkland has to offer and you can't beat the window seats in a warm sunny day! The ambience is fine, nothing special but good enough for a casual meal. Friendly staff too! The food is fine but you can get better tasting food on the east side. I did enjoy the Greek pita (pictured) and would go back if I'm in the area but nothing really stood out to me as being particularly unique or special, so I don't plan on going back any time soon. This is a pretty nice place for classic American breakfast! I ended up in the area for a Yelp Experience and decided to make a morning out of it and George's seemed like they'd be a great place for breakfast. I arrived around 9ish and they were at about half capacity so I was seated very quickly. I love biscuits and gravy but finding the vegetarian version can be a tall order so I definitely had to get it! It was one of those times I asked the sever a few follow up questions just to make sure that we're talking about the same thing when we say "vegetarian" he was happy to answer my questions and I was happy to have the biscuits! I also got a mimosa since it's the ultimate brunch drink. I watched my server make it and was pleasantly surprised! Most places it's a splash of champagne with OJ but here it was mostly champagne with a splash of OJ. Just my style! All in all a lovely breakfast. I personally like my hashbrowns a bit more on the crispy side, but they were still good and the biscuits and gravy were delightful! By the time I was leaving all of the tables were filled and the line was starting to work out the door, so this is definitely a popular spot! read more
