I've come here a couple times with a large group and am glad they are able to accommodate us (30+ people). They used to have a banquet room but it seems closed off at this time. The food comes our relatively quickly and if you order in groups of 6 people everyone more or less gets their food at the same time so no one is stuck waiting for their plate long after the first person gets theirs. Last visit I had their crepes and it tasted great. I would definitely get it again on my next visit. At opening you'll probably get seated right away but as the day goes on, the diner gets fairly busy. read more

Our food tasted like whatever they cleaned the grill with. The food is not great. The Service is very slow. They took forever just to come take our drink order. The fastest service we got was getting the check. I like the natural light but the carpet is dingy and gross. I worked in Kirkland and the Kirkland location was a favorite place for our monthly staff meetings. Very few places could coax me into finding the soul numbing experience of a two hour long staff meeting anything but pleasurable. Especially, since management is sponsoring this breakfast. This entails going with the mantra that we all agreed with management's recent proclamations or no breakfast for you. Enough to put anyone off their breakfast groove. But I loved breakfast here. As now Kirkland is closed, I come to the Bothell location. Similar menu. Thankfully, I can dine without management proclamations, about cost and cutting client services interfering with my enjoyment of a delicious mouthful of pancakes. First, I want to acknowledge the quality of food. Orange juice is freshly squeezed. Pancakes, crepes come in a wide variety and all high quality. Shoutout to coconut pancakes and crepes. Syrups are very nice. Butter is real butter, no whipped substitute. Fruit is fresh. Potatoes have a slight savory flavor. Apple pancake is sweet, gooey and full of apple and Carmel flavors. Cherry crepes have a very distinct, cherry flavor that is wonderful. Bacon is thick and crispy. Omelets have a soft soufflé like texture, most welcome when trying to eat every last bit of this delicious food. Sausage patties have a unique and savory taste. I have read some reviews and it seems the restaurant fails in customer service. Since the demand for an exceptional breakfast is high, they have many eager customers. But in failing to regulate the demand, they put the onus of responsibility on well meaning, but overburdened wait staff and kitchen. Can you imagine the volume of orders received on a Sunday morning? I believe 5 cooks would be required. Especially with long cooking omelets, which the menu states require 45 minutes. I bet there are fewer than two cooks. And, inexperienced ones at best. The younger staff struggle to serve the deluge of people and orders. This is a management decision, to save money. Heck yes, service and quality of food suffer. There is not enough adequate staffing as a deliberate decision by management. Unfortunately, these factors take at least 75% away from the overall experience. Overcooked food, missing items and cold food are unacceptable. Staff overwhelmed and stressed makes me uncomfortable. I believe they ignore the importance of food and service. Yes, you have high standards for your food. Apply these standards towards cooking the food properly, giving it to the guest while freshly cooked. I'm looking at you Chicken Fried Steak! Waits for tables can be extensive and their wait-list app will say one thing, but the wait is always shorter than it says, like it says 40min wait, and you haven't even left the house yet, then 15mins later you get a notice to checkin with the hostess and if you aren't there when they call you early, then you get kicked off the list. Love this place! Prices are a little high but it's understandable with inflation. Staff is pleasant and quick to check on you and seat you. The food is quality and mostly local, which is wonderful. We have been here a number of times but this last experience was quite sub-par. They messed up two dishes, things came out a long time apart (and it was all faster food, not things like the puffy omlette or Dutch baby that take a long time) and some of the food was cold. We had to request missing dishes. And it was a Tuesday and they were not very busy. We had to track down a pen to sign the receipt and to get refills. The Kirkland location of this restaurant used to be super popular, and I was never sure why. It was always so busy, that I never bothered waiting to try it. I was in the area near this location, so I decided to give this one a try. It's okay. Kind of IHOP crossed with Denny's. The problem with this location is it is next door to a senior citizen living community. There were also two senior citizens' buses that arrived with more people while I was there. Nothing wrong with senior citizens, unless you want to overhear conversations about how much they like Dave Ramsey but don't keep their money in envelopes, how bad Jay Inslee and Joe Biden are, how Trump is sure to win in 2024, and all the latest gossip and goings-on with everyone's illnesses, etc. Food is typical mediocre IHOP or Denny's. It's also pretty pricey for what it is. I ask for just a few bananas, like half a banana, for my pancakes. That was an extra almost 5 dollars. Who don't love Pancakes for breakfast? I love it! The Original Pancake House was in my radar for a long time. Finally decided to take my extended family there for a breakfast! Warm welcome from the Staffs over there. We were helped by Christine that day! It's a classy place. Well decored. The interior is so appealing. The table arrangement, I found it's unique with round tables present. It's a very clean and tidy place as well. Pancakes, a lot of varieties and specialties, waffles, meat & eggs, crepes, breakfast bowls, sides and beverages. Their menu is absolutely terrific! We picked up the buttermilk pancakes, Swedish pancakes, Fresh vegetarian Omelettes, Waffles and coffees. Wait time was hardly 5-6 minutes; and Christine started bringing the order one by one. Swedish pancake - never tried this before - and it came out as a big surprise. Very delicious, soft and melted in the mouth. A lot of veggies in the omelette - very delightful. The pancakes and the waffles truly lived up to our expectations. Christine was amazing. Really enjoyed her hospitality. She was always around, kept on come around to check us. Today was so bad eating at the OPH. First the 10-15 minute wait turned into a solid 50 minutes. Second the basic service and orders were so slow. Thirdly the kid who brought out our drinks and food was passing the glasses around while picking them up with his fingers inside the glasses. With omelets as a big as your head! A friend of mine took me here when we were feeling like brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Service is albeit slow, but the food is so worth what you pay for. WOW what a let down!!! This wasn't our first visit to this location & had always been been pleased. However this time we were extremely disappointed. It started off great with very little wait time. Our waitress, Jami P was awesome!!! Very friendly & helpful. After our order was taken is when things started falling apart! The food was delivered by another young gal, not Jami. My husband ordered the Mini Minced Ham & Eggs & I got the Cherry Kijafa Crepes, powered sugar on the side. When the food was delivered I noticed the gal was carrying one smaller plate literally sitting on top of my crepes. (Who know what may have been added to my crepes from that plate.) When she lifted the egg plate, the cherry sauce from the crepes dripped from the bottom of the plate on the edge of the table and his serving area. So when he tried to adjust his plate the cherry sauce got him all sticky. The mini minced Ham & Eggs were definitely "mini" at $14.95. It was served on a small plate similar to a salad plate with the hash browns spread out in a single layer just enough to cover about 1/2 the plate. The food was barely warm. Then there were my crepes. The crepes were served on a plate too small for them as they overlapped the edges of the plate causing the food to sit on the table with more cherry sauce that got all over the table. The powdered sugar that came on the side was so hard I had to stab it several times with my fork to try to break some free & then smashed it down to try to spread it out. My food also was just barely warm. I tried getting the attention of the gal that served us, but she just looked & then walked away each time. I frequently order from this restaurant through DoorDash. Lately, they have been sending out the item I order every time called a Dutch Baby Pancake with a little burning at the top of it. I haven't been crazy about it, but I love the item so much, I've eaten it. Yesterday, they delivered the following item. It was so burnt that I couldn't eat it. I don't know how it was let out of the kitchen to be delivered. I used to work as a waitress and I would have never taken that out to a customer. I posted the picture of what you should expect to see when you order a Dutch Baby and what I got. I did get the item reimbursed but not the taxes, delivery service fees, and other costs. Partner and I have tried to like this restaurant. For seven years, every couple of months (moreso during covid). The only place around with buckwheat pancakes, and on paper, a solid menu that gets updated occasionally. This is the breakup review. Though we live down the block, we've only ever ordered takeout due to how busy, loud, and chaotic it is. Every single order has had something missing or awry. Today, it was a substantial part of both of our meals. For takeout, they do take care in separating eggs into their own containers to reduce over-steaming. However, this has led to the eggs not being included with our order multiple times. I have ordered takeout from other restaurants, further away, that successfully keep the eggs with the rest of the dish and the yolks match what I've ordered (usually over easy). Your best bet with ordering from here is most of the pancakes. You may need to supply your own syrup if you do takeout. When calling the restaurant to let them know about the mixup, or driving back to retrieve items, we have had a range of experiences from indifferent to excellent and understanding. read more

There's a reason for the lines out the door on weekends. The breakfast food is great. They have a large menu with many pancake, waffle and crepe options, as well as the usual omelette offerings. Our pumpkin pancakes were delicious and the pecan waffle was a knockout! There are different syrups to try as well (strawberry, tropical, etc. ) Service was spotty during our visit. I had corned beef omelette while other had corned beef with egg over it. But it included pancakes as well.
