This is for sure one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. I have been going to the OPH for over a decade and in many different locations and all the restaurants are pretty much consistent in their food, which I love!! My favorite breakfast item here is the white cheddar and bacon omelette. It is fluffy and big enough for one people to eat. I can never eat all of it since I don't eat a lot. Unfortunately after COVID, the portions got smaller and the omelette that was made with 5 eggs now it is only three eggs and we could choose the side if pancakes or hash browns and toast. Now we got to choose one of the three. I will definitely come back here and recommend this place to everyone!! read more

We went for a family breakfast and was disappointed in the service and food. To start off our server was rude when we asked how he was doing he stated he wasn't doing well in a smart allec manner. The response threw me a bit and I said I wasn't sure what to do with that response but maybe he needed some cheering up. He said I could do anything I wanted..a bit taken back with his response and attitude. We noticed another server seemed mad as well so we were concerned that maybe the staff wasn't being treated well yesterday. We received the food and it was pretty mediocre and then my daughter food was delivered after the rest had eaten. Two putting to The Original Pancake House and we have not been disappointed. From the giant Apple German Pancake, to just a side of bacon, everything has been absolutely delicious, fairly portioned, and we've been helped right away. It was a cold morning this last time around, but the restaurant was plenty of shield from that, at least to us. A table nearby complained about the chill and the staff quickly turned up the thermostat. Glad to see they care about making everyone comfortable. So, with a genera understanding of the friendly service, let's get into the food. - The German Pancakes are huge. One serving easily could have satisfied two of us. - Apple Waffles, fantastic, get the apple syrup for an extra kick of apple. - Biscuits and Gravy, delicious. There are really two kinds of biscuits and gravy you get from restaurants. There's that weird hammy kind, and this lovely sausage gravy kind that I will definitely order again. - The strawberry crepes come with plenty of fresh strawberries (not that preserved goo you might get elsewhere!), and a pile of whipped cream on top. All around a perfect combination. - And as I said, even just their side of bacon is amazing. By far the best bacon I've ever had in a restaurant, thick generous pieces cooked to perfection. UPDATE: JANUARY 29, 2023: A PRE-CHOW SHOUT OUT FOR APPLE PAY AND YOXSERI This is the second time that my conspiracy and I have eaten at the Original House Of Pancakes in Bothell Washington. Our waitress is "Yoxseri." She was already fast with bringing us our drinks after taking our orders. The occasion is celebrating the birthday of one of our usual family get together suspects (not mine). This preliminary review is the shout out for the fact that they take Apple Pay. I love Apple Pay. It is one of the few high-tech concepts that actually consistently works well! That means I don't have to dig my wallet out of my pocket, and then try to get my RFID ensleaved ("enslaved" will also work) credit cards out of their little plastic sleeves, and then again, have to take them out of there RFID sleaves. The older you get, the more that means to us. It also means we do not have to risk getting our credit card skimmed while it is outside of it's sleave. Once we get through chowing down, the "post-liminary" review will follow. AND NOW FOR POST-CHOW FOLLOW-UP And now, that the six of us have completed our morning repast, it is time to notate that nobody had any complaints about anything. I for one loved my chocolate pancakes. My only hairline gripe is that they should have asked me first if I wanted whipped cream, but no matter, I just simply shoved it off. But what really impressed me was the receipt had a QR code on it so that I could pay for my ticket without having to hand my credit card over to the waitress or go up to the register. This saves time for everybody, and it eliminates the risk of a corrupt cashier skimming our credit card numbers while doing the transaction. The proper name for this btw is "mobile pay," which includes Apple Pay and Google pay (for Android). I cannot speak for Google pay efficiency, as I have no experience with Android devices. Welcome to the 21st-century. Things are already different! THE REST OF THE STORY I did take a trip to the little boys restroom. It was clean, had two sinks, and two urinals, but only one number 2 stall. On a crowded Sunday morning, that could cramp our style (knowwhatImeanVern?) But at least that one stall did have PLENTY of TP, as well as a plunger and scrubbing brush (BTW, the plunger came in handy). read more

We showed up and there were only 2 other patrons we could see in the entire restaurant. Despite that, it took more than 10 minutes for anyone to bring us water and take our order. Once we placed our order and the food was delivered except mine - they made the wrong order. It took them so long to make the correct breakfast that my entire table was done before my food ever arrived. Also, we had to ask for syrup for the pancakes twice since they came out without any - the first request ended up with getting ketchup. Overall, not at all the experience we've had with the OHP in Lehi and the only reason I would come back is because my daughter is GF and they have a good selection of GH pancakes read more

I actually used to love this place! It was a great spot to grab breakfast (or brunch) a few years ago. But I believe in recent years they went under new management and it has drastically changed. The food is terrible, just bland and over priced. Their glassware and utensils have a very off putting smell. And the service is down right terrible. There can be about 25 people working and only a single person actually trying to help customers. Truly astonishing. I really do hope they close this place down and put in something better or at least switch management. You're better off going to one of the creek cafe chains around the area, might be a slight longer wait but it is WELL worth the wait. read more

We are actually here right now as I leave this review and the service was so bad , I had to write this . We came here on Saturday and there was a 30 min wait , so we left but said to ourselves it must be really good food for it to be so busy . We came back today ( Thursday ) and we were seated almost immediately . So the prices here are outrageous . $19 for 6 buttermilk pancakes ,that were just alittle bigger than " silver dollar " pancakes and they weren't fluffy , but hard and Luke warm when I received mine. $3 for (1) one egg ( talking about price gouging ) gezz! My girlfriends meal was substandard and missing items that she ordered and the person who delivered repeatedly kept forgetting to bring , water etc (3 times and it wasn't even busy ) The actually waitress was great in redirecting the other people to fixing the mistakes and realized that the service was so bad , she deducted some of the cost from the bill . Overall everything extremely overpriced and food was substandard and obviously the Kitchen wasn't Keen either , so I wasn't impressed with this place enough to return . I have found the food at any of these locations to be large servings and very tasty. The service at this particular location was subpar. We received two of our 3 orders, the 3rd was a partial order missing the side of pancakes and potatoes. We brought it to the waitresses attention and she said they would be coming out soon. I went back a week after my previous review, and the experience was back on par. I learned that the week prior, there had been a concatenation of unfortunate events, ranging from not receiving the bacon delivery to having several cooks out sick, and running out of prepared sourdough pancake batter. I've been going here for a few years now, and haven't been disappointed until this morning. It took forever to get a waitress and some coffee. When she did come, we did not get napkins or sauces. I ordered the corned beef hash, my companion ordered a dutch baby and a side of bacon. When we got the order, the corned beef hash was undercooked, as well as the potatoes o'brien. The english muffin was barely toasted and the eggs were actually overcooked. My companion's dutch baby was very very dark/almost burnt, as was his bacon which looked pretty unappetizing. It pains me to write this, because we have LOVED coming here in the past. Amazing, kind, quick service and delicious breakfast. Not anymore. Like a lot of restaurants during the pandemic, they probably lost a lot of key staff, gained new management, and it's to their detriment. The entire vibe of this place has changed. No one wanted to make eye contact with guests who needed something. The food was ok but we waited the entire meal to get an orange juice we ordered. The lady who I presume to be the manager stomped around the restaurant and slammed dishes into a bus tub as she angrily cleared and cleaned tables. Look, I get it. As an avid fan of The Pancake house, my mom and I decided to stop in today for a quick breakfast. After months of not going to restaurants due to Covid-19, I was eager to enjoy my hot coffee and pancakes. We pulled up to the restaurant, and immediately noticed the new paint job they must have recently done. It looked good, with a modern touch. As we walked in, we were greeted by a nice young man who looked to be a manager of sorts. He greeted us to our table, and walked us through the new menu. According to him, around two weeks ago, new owners took over. He said they owned many of the Pancake House's around Washington, and were adding this one to their list. He explained that not much changed except for some new menu items and that the hash browns are now more chunky than the normal sliced. Whatever, I'm not too picky. My mom and I both ordered Corned beef hash with eggs and pancakes. The wait time wasn't long, although they brought someone elses food to our table by accident. We brushed it off, as they were probably new staff. However, what we didn't brush off was the actual breakfast itself. What we immediately noticed was the food content was a lot less than it used to be. I wouldn't normally be too upset with this, but the dishes went up around three dollars in price. The pancakes were small and the hash browns were a small amount as well. Once again, this would be fine if the price stayed the same. The eggs were fine, coffee was hot and savory, and the pancakes were mediocre at best. They lacked flavor, which meant drenching syrup in it was our only option. What wasn't very good, however, was the corned beef hash. It had a very weird ketchup flavor, almost like they cooked it with an overly-amount of tomato paste. They just had a funky taste to them, which really saddened me. The corned beef hash was one of my favorite things to get before, and now that they changed it I may not be coming here as often. The prices really skyrocketed too, and for less food that doesn't sound right. A cup of coffee was almost four dollars and each dish of corned beef hash was almost 17 dollars. We then waited what felt like ages for our check. She gave it to us and then vanished. We had so much free time, as a matter of fact, that we bussed our own table! (Picture below.) Finally, we stood up and physically gave her the check. To her credit, she was new and was trying the best she could. I've worked fast food so I know what it's like to get overwhelmed sometimes. Pros: Delicious food in a modern cafe setting. Nicely updated interior and good customer service. We only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated on a Saturday morning. The fresh squeezed orange juice was so delicious and we saw the really cool machine they use to squeeze the oranges. It was a fun thing to witness. Cons: Parking was hard to come by. It took a long time to get our food once it was ordered (because it's made to order). The portions were way too large for a regular human being to consume in one sitting and they weren't exactly foods that could be boxed up and eaten later. It was also pretty pricy and I think it's because of how much food they provide. If they cut down the portion sizes and price a little bit, it would be much more enjoyable for families that want to come on a regular basis. Because of all the aforementioned reasons, I wouldn't necessarily recommend coming here. It's no wonder this restaurant was not full on my last visit. The service is very friendly but the food runners were not properly trained. One touched my plate and food with both their glove and a used soiled looking hand towel, and the other touched both the top of my glasses and coffee mug when serving. After eating at this chain my entire life in many states, it pains me to see the deterioration in quality and the sky rocket prices. It seems ridiculous to pay about $50 for 2 orders of pancakes (a 49ers and a chocolate chip pancakes) with 2 fried potatoes, 2 orange juices, and 1 coffee, plus tip. Are you kidding me... They were also not able to handle a small special request I have gotten accommodated at this chain for years. Going backwards is not a formula for success chain restaurant. Also, Orginal Pancake House 49er pancakes used to be large oversized spongy texture, lightly browned, sometimes crispy at the edges and chewey inside, with a nice sour dough taste. They should change the name from 49ers to 2021ers which to me were a rubbery crepe that sucked. My batch were small dense rubbery texture little crepe pancakes that just don't resemble the way they were made well in the past. I'm not sure if the whole chain lost their magic or just this branch. Fresh squeezed orange juice was great, but to spend so much and get such medicore food and service and such rich food that has a lingering negative effect on my feeling of well being the rest of the day... This is one of our regular breakfast places if we eat out. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and always fix mistakes when they happen, but their order accuracy could *definitely* use some work. 1) The last time we ate in person this year, they left the English muffins off my Benedict, so all that was on my plate was the eggs, Hollandaise sauce and meat. The waitress came by and was like, "There are no muffins on your plate is there? Hang on a sec I'll toast some and bring it to you" (she did) 2) We ordered takeout and I ordered the mushroom omelette which was supposed to come with sauce. However, they gave me country gravy instead of the omelette sauce. My family and I don't eat pork (for religious reasons rather than health reasons, so it wasn't a huge deal, but it was a little bit of a bummer to taste the sauce and realize it was sausage gravy). We didn't report this one to the restaurant because we had ordered takeout, and the wrong sauce wasn't worth the hassle to us to deal with. 3) This weekend we ordered 2 garden benedicts and though we discussed should double check the order was correct given their history of errors, my husband forgot to do so, and upon opening the bags of food we discovered they had only given us one of the benedicts. They did refund us when my husband called back to tell them about the error. We'll keep going back because we like the food and the staff, and we like supporting local businesses, we just go with the expectation that there might be some minor snafu with our meal, which is totally not the end of the world by any means. read more

I've been to this location a few times, but who ever changed the ENTIRE staffing to what looks like underage girls, highly made a mistake. Not that young ladies aren't capable but in the short time I've been here today nothing has gone smoothly. The hostess has walked customers in circles unsure of which tables are open or where to sit them, we were sat without menus for more than 10 minutes with no one coming back to the table to ask drink options. As someone who is a server and has worked in the restaurant industry for years, I am a very forgiving and understanding customer. Me, my mom and my sister decided to come here for breakfast for the first time. Took 15+ minutes to get our water and orange juice that we asked for, took even longer to get our order taken. I had to ask for a coffee multiple times, one time from a manager even who still failed to bring it to me. Our server was NEVER apologetic at all for anything. The manager was apologetic about it at first but that quickly went out the window at the end of our meal when we sent back an omelette we ordered to go that looked like pita bread. What kind of omelette is brown and smells like burnt egg? Our server gave us an attitude saying that's how omelettes are cooked.. last time I checked omelettes should be edible and not look like leather. So glad we were done eating by then because the smell of it made me feel sick. On top of it, our server could not get away from our table any faster when she would check in, one of us would ask her for something and she'd say okay and practically run away before we could ask her for anything else... Again, as a server myself I understand the difficulties of this job, however, there's never an excuse to make customers the way we felt today, like an annoyance or burden... maybe find a new profession. Only came here because my husband wanted pancakes and I didn't want to go to IHOP. Walked in, no one at front to greet us. A server came out and got us seated eventually. Sat down. Waited over 15 mins for someone to come over to offer (not bring) water. Several servers walked by a couple of times, but no one ever acknowledged us till then. I was just about to get up and leave. Meal came out fairly quickly though. I had the country benedict. It says their "country fried steak grilled to perfection"... I think it was grilled to perfection YESTERDAY. I didn't even bother to look till about halfway thru, I thought I was crunching on the potatoes (comments next), I couldn't eat the other half. It looked old and dried up. Supposed to come with sunny side up egg, I asked for over medium, which they seemed to do fine with. The "grilled potatoes" are just large diced potatoes, some were cooked to perfection, some were a little raw still, and some were over cooked and crunchy/almost burnt. We've been here before and I've always told my husband it was MEH, but this time, which I don't think I've ever said about a place before is, that I do not want to ever come back here again. We have gone to OPH for many years but moved further away. We still would stop by and get some of our favorites when in the area. The same wallpaper is peeling off the walls and the bathrooms are smelly but clean. The menu was recently changed. Of course the prices too. No more "Bacon Buster" and pancakes are no longer available with your meal but order separately. The staff are very friendly and pleasant and really work their butt off. It's very good for breakfast, but be prepared to take your time. You don't get in and out quickly, it's more for the leisurely crowd. The place is quite large, and I've never visited when it wasn't filled to the brim. There's coffee in the waiting area which is a nice touch. We were seated after about a 20 minute wait. The server appeared quickly. The menu is quite extensive. I'm not a pancake fan but my granddaughter is, and her pancakes were pretty good. Me, I ordered the ham & cheese omelette made as a scramble. They note on the menu that omelettes are made from scratch and oven-finished and to allow 45 minutes to be delivered; but if you aren't willing to wait that long, order it as a scramble. I know that 45 minutes is well past my granddaughter's patience limit. The scramble was huge!! More than enough to feed 2 hungry people. The hash browns were fresh made with crispy exteriors and a very potato-y taste. What made the meal even more memorable was the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice! Overall, I'm a fan. The "Great Clips" style of check in online, show up and you'll be seated, has dramatically bottle necked the restaurant. 30-40% of tables are empty, they can't seat anyone who's waiting because of online line cutting. Just a horrible way of conducting business. "Great Clips" at least takes walk ins immediately rather than wait for someone to get to the location. Once that person gets to the location, they'll then be first in line. That's not the way it works here. Food is good, organization is horrible. read more

Hash was worse than what you get in a can, eggs were hard, no potatoes no pancakes. Also ordered chili omelette. Was supposed to have pulled pork in it with green chili sauce on the side. I upgraded to coconut pancakes. No pork in the omelette, a couple of pieces in the sauce. No pancakes. This was a $40 breakfast. I'm shocked at the utter lack of care in this takeout order. They are refunding our money but I will never return there and please don't risk it for takeout.
