We visited while we were in Seattle, and I'm so glad we made the short drive (about 15 minutes from downtown). The restaurant was almost full, but there were still a few tables available. It had such a quiet, cozy atmosphere that made for a really relaxing breakfast. The service was outstanding--everyone was incredibly friendly, our coffee was constantly refilled, and I was honestly impressed by how quickly everything came out. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. I had the House Omelet, which was delicious. My husband ordered the Veggie Benedict and really enjoyed it as well. The hash browns were good--not the best I've ever had, but definitely tasty. My son absolutely loved the kids' waffle with strawberries and said it was one of the best breakfasts he's ever had! My daughter's salmon toast was also very good. Overall, we were very impressed. Fresh ingredients, great flavors, excellent customer service, and a cozy atmosphere. If you're looking for a wonderful breakfast spot just outside downtown Seattle, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try! read more

Every good morning starts with a great cup of coffee, and I'll be first to admit that this isn't it. Drip coffee... Below diner grade. But, if you can forgo the coffee, the rest was good. After reading many mixed reviews on the food here, went with the Swedish pancakes combo and thought it was great. The sausage links were rich and juicy, the scrambled eggs were cooked well and not overdone, and the lingonberry jam and Devonshire cream was great. I only wish the jam and cream were inside the pancakes. Others I was with really enjoyed their meals. Lemon ricotta pancakes, Italian sausage scramble, all big hits with their respective diners. The atmosphere is busy and can be loud - and often it's tough to hear someone sitting next to you. But that's sort of the vibe - busy weekend diner. I'd personally prefer this over a dead silent restaurant given the choice between the two. The wait wasn't bad despite being packed - seated a group of 5 in about 10 minutes. Price wasn't bad, just over $100 for a group of 5. Overall a good experience. A few areas for marginal improvement but a solid spot, and service was friendly and prompt. When stepping into Pete's Egg Nest it certainly brings a cozy nest feeling. The ambiance is certainly my favorite aspect apart from the service. Martha was an amazing server. Her and her coworker worked very well together, smoothly accommodating everyone at each of the 15 tables full of customers. Including me and three other people at the bar. If you are looking for a quick classic diner experience this is the place to be! The only downside was the biscuit was not as good as I expected, but you can't have it all. Everything was good until I opened my food bag, I grabbed the takeout box and the bottom FELL THROUGH. (I picked up my food RIGHT as it was ready and drove less than 10 mins home). Called them, told them what happened, they refused a refund, I asked to talk to the manager they refused. Said they would call me, never did. She said yea this happens a lot so we need a photo. LMAO. Great Place! We love stopping here when we visit Seattle. The menu is large enough to appeal to many tastes, but not too large to not be able to do all the items well. We visited around 11:30 AM on a Saturday, and the place was packed we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. It appears to be a family-owned restaurant with a casual dining atmosphere. The space felt a bit cramped, and it got quite hot due to the crowd. We were eventually seated at the bar. We ordered the house mushroom omelet and pancakes. Unfortunately, the omelet lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper. I had read in another review that the mushrooms had an odd taste, and I completely agree it was off-putting. The feta cheese also didn't complement the omelet well; it added a sour note that didn't sit right. I would recommend avoiding the mushroom option here. The pancakes were soft but very dry; I had to use the of maple syrup just to get through them. Overall, it was a decent but not particularly enjoyable experience. I don't think I'd return. It also seemed like the staff may have had a disagreement before our food was served our server looked visibly upset. This is basically the same place as the egg and us in Ballard, which I've also been to, but this place is smaller. I ordered a kielbasa scramble off their specials menu and it was pretty good. Looked at the menu which they did have a lot of pork products but they did have turkey sausage, beef sausage too. I ordered the corned beef hash, and I have to say, The best part of that dish was the hashbrowns and oh my gosh their biscuits are yummy. Really enjoyed the biscuits. The eggs were cooked the way I wanted them. I really didn't enjoy the corned beef hash, I've had better. Their menu is a little too pricey to me, corn beef hash breakfast that was like $20. I spent a little over $20 and my husband was thinking about getting a cheeseburger but the cheeseburger, I can't remember it was either like between $15-$16. The two times I went it on a Saturday and Monday morning it was pretty busy but the staff work fast and efficient so you won't be waiting for your food too long.
