I come here with coworkers on my lunch breaks fairly frequently. I always order slices, so I can't speak to their whole-pie takeout experience, but I've never been disappointed. For such a highly-rated spot, they're shockingly affordable (where else in Fremont can you get lunch for less than $15?). I really like their pesto slice in particular. I know that many of my coworkers enjoy their salads, too. They come with pickled peppers which is a huge plus at any Italian restaurant / pizzeria in my opinion. Great pizza spot in Seattle! There's a cute patio for outdoor seating when the weather is nice. We got the sausage pizza which has is topped with sausage, broccoli raab, and chili oil. We came on a Sunday around 6:30pm and had no trouble finding seating indoors, with a few outdoor tables still open as well. We ordered the garlic knots along with the sausage and pesto pizza. GARLIC KNOTS ($12) - 5/5 A must-order. If you love garlic bread, you'll love these. The knots were crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and dipped in an incredibly good garlic butter sauce. We even used the leftover sauce to dip the pizza crusts in. Yummy!! SAUSAGE PIZZA / PESTO PIZZA ($19.5 / $16.5) - 4/5 Both pizzas came out piping hot and tasted very fresh, which honestly made the first few bites especially good. Showed up around 5:30 for an early birthday dinner for my husband before meeting friends elsewhere for drinks. Somewhat surprised to see how busy they were inside, but then again Seattle tends to eat early (still adjusting to that). We had our dog with us anyway so sat outside, but inside looks very welcoming with large windows and an open kitchen. Food was excellent. Service was fine, though on the annoying side when they dropped off their POS system and walked away for us to complete payment, but it kept losing connection and I had to keep flagging someone down to help. I do appreciate them not hovering, but also maybe stay nearby and/or check back in, especially since this seemed like a known issue. Anyway, the food. It was superb. We shared a Caesar salad, cold pistachio noodles (an absolute favorite), and a cheese pizza with pesto. They have some interesting sounding wines and cocktails, as well as some nice NA options. I love the cute yet simple decor and use of tomato cans as pizza stands and utensil holders. We tried the Utica greens pizza, which was fabulous. The perfect variety of veggies and breadcrumbs for a crunch. I really like the thin crust style pizza. The garlic knots were also delicious and felt more upscale than your typical garlic knots. Unfortunately, they were out of a couple of the beers we wanted, but we were able to find some good alternatives. Overall, a good experience and I'd come back. Tivoli is a popular Italian-ish restaurant in the middle of Fremont. As with its sister restaurants, Saint Bread and Wayland, this place is very popular, albeit not quite as busy. I've visited Tivoli twice for weekday lunch and both times by 1PM the place had a decent crowd. I can only assume dinner service is even busier. Tivoli offers different items for lunch and dinner. For the former, they have lighter fare - sandwiches and pay-by-the-slice pizza, although whole pies can still be ordered. Dinner is slightly different - the sandwiches are removed and only whole pies can be ordered. Beef on Weck ($18) - I had to look up this sandwich. Apparently it originates from Buffalo, NY. Based on what I received though, this is clearly a Seattle interpretation of the dish, missing the classic kummelweck roll but substituting instead a fantastically crisp focaccia. The focaccia, a bit thinner compared to competitors in the area, is baked in a thick layer of oil, allowing the bottom to crisp up while the interior still remains airy. I especially love the liberal sprinkling of sesame seeds on top. The focaccia is cut in half and stuffed with about an inch tall mountain of thinly sliced beef. The roast beef is extremely tender with no tough bits whatsoever which allows the teeth to bite through cleanly. It's complete with reddish rim along the edges, indicative of the spices used to marinate the beef. Each side of the bun is smeared with horseradish cream - it adds moisture and suspiciously, only a warm heat to the dish, rather than the sharp burn that gets into the nose with typical horseradish sauces. The sandwich is served with a side of au jus, which has a distinctively Asian flair. It's richly beefy and quite spicy with the flavor profile startling similar to a shichimi spiced beef broth. While it's great to dip the sandwich in the broth, I think it would work well as the base for ramen as well! In terms of value for food, this sandwich is far smaller than competitors but has a similar price point. Down the street at Hushy's, for example, I have trouble finishing more than half a focaccia sandwich. For the Beef on Weck, I finished everything and had room to spare. (4/5) I revisited about 2 months later after they refreshed their sandwich menu: Chicken Parm ($20) - This sandwich uses the same airy and sesame encrusted focaccia, complete with blistered bubbles, with entirely different ingredients within. Instead of being breaded and fried, there's a piece of moist dark meat pan-fried chicken served on top of a layer of breadcrumbs. It's large enough that it overhangs the bread a bit. The pan frying allows the chicken to develop charring along the faces, albeit with some portions a little bitter from the spices being overcooked. While loose breadcrumbs are messy, these are glued onto the chicken via a slice of melted cheese. It's a rather thin layer unlike the gobs of gooey mozzarella typically seen with the dish. The breadcrumbs give most of the crunch of the dish, but it's softened somewhat by being soaked in oil. Underneath is a portion of pesto. It's good quality, nutty and fresh, heavy and thick, rich and oily. The overall sandwich is too rich and I feel like it could use marinara on the side for some acidity to balance the sandwich. There are some spicy pickled peppers on the side for this purpose, but I feel like it's not enough. (4/5) Overall Tivoli serves some pretty good sandwiches. I haven't tried the pizza yet - that's something I'm planning to get the next time I eat here. The Chilled Pistachio Noodles also look interesting. Recommended order: chopped salad and pepperoni pizza with hot honey and two sides of (made in house!!) ranch. Outdoor seating is a plus. I have been wanting to try Tivoli for some time now after all the type I've been seeing on social media. I finally got to try their pizza for takeout! We ordered half cheese and half pesto. I'm writing this review in consideration of the fact that it was for takeout. We placed an online order. Super easy process if you're short on time. By the time we picked up and started eating the pizza, it had probably been ready for about 10-15 minutes. So the pizza was still warm, but definitely not as hot as it could be. The cheese was already a little hardened vs. gooey when fresh. The cheese pizza was okay, it had a little bit of a funky taste to it that I didn't love. I also wish the tomato sauce was more acidic. I really enjoyed the pesto sauce on the pesto pizza but wouldn't be able to eat more than one slice because I could get tired of the taste. I would probably order a tomato or margherita or cheese pizza next time with pesto on the side for dipping! The ranch was not our favorite as it was a little too rich and had a unique flavor to it. We did enjoy the chili crisp and would get that again next time! As the pizza got cooler, the crust became a little bit tougher to bite. Omg. The chopped salad. I went here the other day because we were going to the wet clay Café down the street. We stopped in for lunch and I got the starter chopped salad and I also got their new chicken sandwich like a chicken Parmesan. The chop salad was the best chopped I've ever had. It was loaded with fresh shaved Parmesan cheese, and yummy green olives, and beans it also had the perfect crunch and creamy Italian dressing. The sandwich was okay, the bread was tasty but covered in sesame seeds, I think the sesame I could do without and the chicken was under seasoned. I wish I had got a full size of the salad it was so delicious. I will definitely be back for that amazing salad and to try some other things on the menu. As a pizza lover I had been itching to try this spot since its creation a couple years ago. It lived up to the hype and is definitely a welcome addition to the Seattle pizza scene. The place was super busy and we showed up about an hour before close. The host was great and got us a seat at the bar after a short wait. The bartender was awesome. Great vibes, extremely helpful, and wonderful service. They have a solid collection of local beers on draft and I got a Kolsch that hit the spot on a summer evening. We knew we wanted a classic pepperoni but we figured a small plate would be a good idea as well to tide us over until the pizza arrived so we got the tomato pie which the bartender recommended so we could try their dough in its most pure form. He said we should get their homemade whipped ricotta with it as well and let me tell you that is the play! I will always be getting the ricotta every time I come because it was so good! A total game changer that will enhance anything. The pizza itself was also great, the pepperoni was cupped, the cheese and sauce were well ratioed, and the crust was excellent and cooked to perfection. We were greeted by a kind waitress that offered my daughter a kids cup of water and a coloring page with crayons. Family friendly restaurants are the best! My mom and I were looking for a place that sold pizza by the slice for lunch and Tivoli came up in our searches and it did not disappoint! They offer a great variety of rotating pizzas along with salads and drinks. We opted to share a variety of slices along with a small Italian salad. The pizza dough itself was crispy but also had a nice chew it. We really enjoyed their current veggie option which was the kale and mushroom along with their current meat option which was sausage with fennel and leek.
