Believe the hype - this is a great slice! The location is fine - in a large market with other shops and seating areas. The neighborhood is under construction but street parking is easy. The shop is small and narrow, there are some seats but i took my order to go. I got 4 slices to share with a friend - classic red sauce (Plain Jane) with burrata, Jamaican green curry and mushrooms (Fun Guy), and chefs fav (short rib and blue cheese with pickled onion) - they were all delicious. My fav was the green curry with the chefs fav a close second. The dough was PERFECT on all of them and the flavors were immaculate. This is a must stop for pizza lovers and those interested in adventurous slices. I hear the sandwiches (fridays only) are amazing so I'd like to get back and try those soon.

This time they had vegan pizza which was really exciting! The slight bummer is that it was basically just the regular pizza with no cheese lol. It was still good but was hoping for like some kind of toppings. The staff were friendly and it was bustling around lunchtime so we got to go.

Pizza by Ruffin is a weekday lunch gem with a convenient grab-and-go counter setup. I'm usually a New York-style pizza loyalist, but this might be my favorite pizza in Seattle. The square slices have a thick yet fluffy crust with a perfectly crunchy bottom, topped with gooey cheese and an interesting, well-thought-out selection of toppings. It's truly one of a kind and absolutely worth trying. Highly recommend.

There is literally no better feeling than patronizing a business owned and run by great people, making a great product. I first met the couple behind this when they were doing a catfish pop up in Ballard (also fantastic). I tried three different slices, gumbo, spicy pepperoni with jalapeños, and mushroom & pepperoni, all of them were outstanding. Since I rarely am able to offer anything novel in my reviews I'm going to give you my pro tip for reheating this pizza at home. Place the pizza in a non stick skillet and heat on medium high heat for about 6-7 minutes to crisp up the crust. Add a few drops of water on either side of your slice, cover with a lid or aluminum foil and allow the steam to heat the toppings, about 45 seconds. You will thank me when you try the first bite.

What a good place to get pizza around SLU. Now I wasn't a huge fan of the pepperoni, tasted like something from Whole Foods. Now their cloud 9 was a cool new unique flavor and taste. Bread was okay, topping was great. Not sure if I'd come back though.

Finally got to pop in and try this spot! Delicious pizza, friendly service, and nice ambiance! Make sure to come early because things run out pretty fast! My husband and I came around 2pm and some of their pizzas were already sold out for the day! We got the doro pizza and the potato pizza and both were tasty! Huge fan of their crust and prices seemed reasonable.

I'm not a fan of food halls. The vendor spaces are small and the customer service can be non-existant. I started at Bleuwiches but trying to navigate the QR code and not being able to physically see what I was going to eat made me leave. I went to Pizza by Ruffin and was ogling the options when a couple very rudely said, ' Excuse me '. I move aside so that they could accompany one of the high top tables. While making room for the royals, I noticed that there was a vegan option. Matter of fact, the vegan option was one of the few left after a busy lunch rush. One of the servers was busy making pizzas and proclaimed that there Roma pizzas would be ready in 10-15 mins. Speaking of the pizzas at Ruffin, these pizzas have the distinct look of aroma style. Rectangular in shape with a crunchy crust but fluffy dough and toppings. The vegan option had potatoes and olives. I quickly ordered two slices before the royals made me move out of their way. My name was called and I picked up my order and was offered some crushed peppers in a small plastic container. Pro Tip: Make sure to get the peppers as they were outstanding. I found a place to eat and ate my slices. They were hot, tasty, and the peppers were perfect addition. In summary, I enjoyed my vegan pizza especially with the cold and damp rain outside. Thanks Pizza by Ruffin

Amazing sandwich! I was hoping I will get a sandwich here for a while! I've heard it sells out fast. The meat and bread taste great!

    VEGAN & Spicy Beef

Great slice of Roman style pizza, the spicy beef was sooo good. And they have all inclusive pricing (tax/tip included in menu price). Highly recommend.

So happy this place came to SLU! They specialize in Roman slices which are very filling and flavorful. I love the unique toppings like the "Fun Guy" pizza which has mushrooms and Jamaican curry sauce. You get your pizza fast after ordering and the couple who started the pizzeria, named Isaiah and Colleen, and are there everyday are so friendly. It's a small place with few tables but it's located in the Fairview Market Hall so plenty of places to go eat your pizza nearby. Highly recommend trying them out.

    Vicki S.

After my eye exam at Urban Optix, I got lunch (and took some to go) at Pizza By Ruffin, which is owned and operated by a very friendly couple (Isaiah and Colleen). They specialize in rectangular-shaped Roman Style Slices. The dough is lovingly made each day by Isaiah. It is more of the consistency of focaccia which I thought was a nice change from most pizza places in Seattle. There, I had a root beer and slice of Colleen's fave Vegan option that is composed of olives and potatoes on red sauce. I got the following slices to go: Potato Market (Potatoes, Cheddar, Chives), A Fun Guy (Mushrooms, Jamaican Curry), The Pep (Pepperoni, Red Sauce), and Mary's Lamb (Spicy Lamb, Cilantro, Onion). If possible, eat your slices there. It loses the amazing crunch on the crust when left steaming in the box when taken to go. Today was my first time eating here. I look forward to coming back again soon. You should, too, and please continue to support small business!!!

The pizza here is delicious! I tried the pepperoni and the lamb pizza. They were both amazing! I will definitely be back to try the others.

Tucked down the alley by the gum wall, it's a great option for wood fired pizzas. The space is fairly small and very low-lit, but thriving with energy. Our service was fantastic, drinks were good, but besides the pizza the food was pretty hit or miss. We had a table of 4 and we kept the table full the entire time. We started off with a salad, spicy mac n cheese, cheese sticks, and Brie and cheese. Salad was light and refreshing. The cheese sticks were pretty normal, but also good. The spicy mac n cheese to me had zero spice. Just some mac in a cast iron pan. The apple and Brie had a nice presentation but the smallest amount of Brie possible(my picture was too blurry to post). The Broccolini I am not sure how it was defined as broccolini because the 5 pieces that came on the plate were huge. While packed with flavors of lemon and Parmesan they had a very tree like feel and were a bit on the harder side. The El Diablo pizza, to be straight forward was by far the best part of the stop. The crust could have been a little more well done, but that's just me splitting hairs. I ate more of that than anyone else. Probably could have finished it myself if I hadn't stopped for a lobster roll beforehand. Either way, great service, good drinks and legit pizzas!

Unfortunately, the customer service and wait times have consistently been disappointing. Tonight, I stood at the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged or greeted me. The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. I genuinely hope they improve the service side of things because the food has potential, the bar vibes they've created are pretty cool as well and I'd love to be able to give this place a better review in the future.

They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
