This place is definitely top 5 fav place for my husband!!he wouldn't stop mentioning about this place and how he missed their spaghetti!! We went around 5 pm right when they opened it was not busy, but maybe it's better to make reservations on weekends or dinner time!! We got pasta and I really love the red sauce one more than mine. Mine is pretty good too but it's just not as good as the red sauce one. The whole restaurant is sooo pretty and perfect for date night or girls night! It's a cute hidden gem in Fremont area

I had high expectations for this place as I love many of the GH restaurants. However, I was unimpressed by our meal that we had here. Service was perfect; ambience was lovely -- classy, yet not pretentious, warm and inviting. It was the food that was underwhelming. We got bread service and Waygu tartare to start. The honey butter go the bread was divine! That touch of sweetness with the butter was scrumptious! The tartare was a tad too onion-y and the chips that was served with it was soooooo salty! Almost inedible. For our mains, we got the Rigatoni and the Pork shoulder, which were nothing memorable. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly, but the flavors were just okay. The rigatoni was made with Njuda, which I felt was barely there. The pork chop was very fatty, but had good flavors and was cooked perfectly. It was served with these giant beans, which had lackluster flavors. I wish it came with some sort of salad or a nice acid touch somewhere, but it just felt a bit heavy and one-note. Overall, it was just okay. I appreciate the excellent service, though.

Was interested in their restaurant week menu, so came in for dinner. The place itself is cozy and pretty intimate. I liked their small open kitchen where you can see people plating, cooking, and prepping dessert. Service throughout the meal was kinda slow, but maybe to be expected as it seemed like there were only 5 people running the entire restaurant, kitchen included. Appetizers! Salad was light and refreshing, nothing crazy. Smoked whitefish had a nice smoky flavor, and the crostini was so crispy I could barely hear myself think while biting it haha. I really like the sauce on the broccolini, but some parts of it were very tough. Main! I had the salmon and it was so good. The skin was super crispy, the salmon itself was perfectly cooked and tender, and the squash and little side of vegetables added a good balance of sweetness and acidity to the bite. Dessert! I got the olive oil cake which was sadly on the drier side. I did enjoy the fresh whipped cream and the citrus + pistachio that was on top. Overall, some really solid food but also some small things that were a little disappointing.

Sit at the bar for happy hour

Boyfriend lives around the corner and we've been wanting to try for forever. Went in for the late night happy hour and left even happier :) At the bar from 9-10, you can get pasta and garlic bread with a glass of wine for $25. We had the Campanelle and tonnareli - both were amazing. I usually like a white sauce but was super impressed by both! We also anticipated small portion sizes for such a good happy hour deal, but we both left very full. Not to mention the service was amazing- each thing that was put in front of us came with an explanation as well. 100% recommend and would love to come back! AMAZING date spot. Also bonus points for the picture of R

We had dinner at Haerfest last night, and feel sad for missing out for 2 years of delicious possibility. It's going on our rotation of restaurants. It's a pretty little place, perfect for anything after work happy hour, a friends meet up and with comfortably low date lighting too. First, the service is excellent - everyone clearly believes in the vision and enthusiastically supports it. The host was friendly and knowledgeable and changed our lives with the recommendation of the Pears, a salad from the appetizer menu. Adorably, he says he asks the chef to prepare one for his mom's visits. And now we know why - it's addictive. It's fresh, crunchy with celery and almonds with a light hit of mouthwatering vinegar. Finally, a salad where celery works - who knew. I'd like it daily please. The charred carrots were amazing, like they were actually charred, because you know you have to be brave to go beyond a deep brown and stop before burnt. The cumin in the Dukkha spice was so warm with the honey. The cocktails were delicious, and as a bonus interesting without trying too hard. The tonnerelli is spectacular (made in house, goes without saying). Such a flex to get pasta that small done perfectly, the bouncy chew of the perfectly al dente. The really notable thing about that beef bolognese that it's very cooked down, so it's just (ha "just") an umami bomb, the beef, parm and tomato oozing into each other and you wishing it'd never end. We shared a plate, we agreed that next time we each get our own - and it's a generous serving, which is exactly what you want with that dish. The beef had a very lovely smoky flavor with a rich pan reduction that the server noted includes ginger, so not just a basic red wine reduction, and very nicely roasted fingerling potatoes (which for my taste could have used a salt bath, but I like salty potatoes). We soldiered on through to a lovely tawny port and the tiramisu, which was a dense custardy situation with surprising tiny sprinkle of sea salt.

Repeat guest! Love to arrive by 6 for a quieter, less busy setting. The staff from the waiter, to the chef, to Ryan the GM -- always hospitable and great. We sat at the counter so we could enjoy the chefs cooking. So fascinating to see them operate a full restaurant with a small kitchen. We ordered the charred leeks (WOW amazing), mussels (I'm not typically a mussels fan but I really liked this dish), and two pasta dishes (couldn't enjoy thoroughly as we were too full by this point!). We ended the meal with the olive oil cake, which was so good. Love coming here, and bringing friends for their first time. One of my staples in Seattle. The staff makes it worth the visit!

Agnolotti and Tonnarelli
Sabrina P.

My husband and I came here on a Friday for happy hour after seeing their "$25 carbs & corks" happy hour special on their door. Note- you must sit at the bar to partake in happy hour from 5-6 and 9-10 PM daily! We both got the white sangria as our wine, and then I had the agnolotti (stuffed pasta with ricotta cheese and caramelized onions) with leeks and snap peas, while my husband got the tonnarelli with beef bolognese. Both were delicious- I loved the fresh veggies on the agnolotti and am a sucker for ricotta cheese! Every pasta for this happy hour special came with a thick slab of garlic bread that was easy to bite into and dip into the pasta sauce. Our server/bartender was attentive and helped give great recommendations on what to order, and ultimately the great service, clean aesthetic, and location near the 62 bus route will definitely have us coming back for more happy hours!

Chocolate moose cake served as part of Valentines Day Prix Fixe menu.

I made reservations here for Valentines Day on or about Jan. 15 and the earliest we could get was a table at 8:30, which is not a problem for me. I don't mind eating later. We walked in the door at 8:32 and there were two couples in front of us also waiting to be seated. I don't know if they had reservations or not. The ambiance is modern with the counter and kitchen viewable right when you walk in. It took about 5 minutes for the hostess to get us seated. We had specifically booked a TABLE and they seated us at the counter after seating the other two couples at tables in front of us. They didn't seem to acknowledge this at all. The server then proceeded to spill water on the counter in front of me while he was seating us, and he didn't clean it up. I was feeling annoyed! The Valentines Day menu was Prix Fixe for $98 per person. I don't recall seeing the Prix Fixe menu on their website when I booked in Jan., but that's ok, I am not picky food wise. We ordered a bottle of wine to split as a couple and one of each dish on the Prix Fixe menu. The drink menu was a bit limited, especially on the wine side. The appetizer course featured all four dishes on the menu. Three of the four dishes were brought out to us almost immediately. I figured they'd bring the fourth (crab) soon thereafter. We finished the three dishes they brought us and the server asked us which was our favorite. I had to ask for the crab, otherwise they never would've brought it. My favorite, BTW, was the Beef Tartare. By the time we finished the crab and they brought the pastas, I was a glass of wine in and felt more relaxed. Service was more consistent after this and both pastas were great! My girlfriend is pickier about pasta, especially making sure it is cooked al dente, and both dishes were perfecto! We were already feeling full at this point! The scallops and waygu came next. Both were rich in taste and helped round out our paletes for the night. Finally, dessert - the chocolate mousse cake came in the shape of a heart for Valentines Day. It was amazing!! It had strawberries in it and it tasted exactly like a good piece of chocolate out of a Valentines Day chocolate heart. Yum!! I have a huge sweet tooth and was impressed by this dessert! My girlfriend likes savory flavors more and enjoyed the olive oil cake for herself. We weren't feeling ready to go home yet, so we ordered another drink. I ordered the AE Martini. I don't order martinis too often, but this one is the best I can ever remember having! Not too bitter, not too briney, and the stuffed olives with blue cheese were great too! I would recommend this martini! Overall, the food was great! I would recommend and return to Haerfest, and I'm optimistic that I could receive 5 star service on a night that is not as busy as Valentines Day. I look forward to trying the regular menu and updating my review when I get the chance to return!

Orecchiette pasta
Serena S.

My partner and I were looking forward to treating ourselves to a fancy dinner to celebrate a special occasion, but we left Haerfest feeling disappointed. We had mixed opinions about the dishes we ordered, and many of the portion sizes were much smaller than we were expecting, especially given the prices. For appetizers, we got the Brussels sprouts and the charred carrots. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good, and came in a decently sized portion. But the carrots weren't anything special, and moreover, the portion size was laughably small. We were surprised to pay $17 for what was probably a grand total of 2 (artfully splayed out) carrots. For the main course, we got the orecchiette pasta and the fried chicken. The pasta had a good al dente texture, and came with a tasty sauce and sausage meat. The portion size for the pasta was uncharacteristically normal compared to everything else we ordered. Meanwhile, the portion of fried chicken we got (for $42 nonetheless!) was tiny, and the chicken itself was shockingly bland - like, it truly had zero flavor! The thick, mayonnaise-y, lemon-y sauce that it came with was good, and it was possible to salvage the chicken by dunking it in the sauce, but we would have normally expected the chicken to carry at least some flavor on its own. We were fully intending to splurge on a nice meal that day, but we couldn't help feeling that the meal wasn't a very good value for what it cost and what we got. We'd give our experience at Haerfest a 2 out of 5.

They really pushed the bottled water but the tap water was great. Italian fried chicken was off the hook.

Porchetta - Amazing tender pork belly w/ crispy pork skin
Eric F.

My wife and I recently enjoyed our 26-year wedding anniversary at Haerfest, and we couldn't be happier. The food and service were amazing. My wife is from the Philippines, and we were both very impressed with the Porchetta. The pork belly was cooked to perfection, and the crispy pork skin was a perfect complement to the tender pork belly. We also highly recommend the charred leeks as an appetizer. It was so good we almost wanted to get an extra order, but it was all just the right portion of food.

Cavatelli al guanciale; pasta with pork, garlic, and kale. A great compliment to the butter and sage pasta, the pork being so soft and flavorful. 2.) the Cavolfiore con bagna caoda; a roasted cauliflower with an anchovy sauce and lemon. Did not think that a vegetable could be the star of the show, but with that sauce, it was our favorite. Loaded with flavor, every bite was perfect 3.) Tajarin con burro e salvia; butter and sage pasta. The fine cut literally melted in your mouth, best to eat first while it's warm. We had our final dinner in Seattle at Spinasse and twas a wonderful time…read more First off, Spinasse gives Capitol Hill from the moment you enter. It's minimally furnished with just the right amount of ambient lighting. Secondly, it's Italian, but Piedmontese Italian if that means anything to you. We started with crespelle ($29) which is an Italian crepe. The version we ordered was stuffed with prosciutto and parmigiana fonduta with arugula salad. The crepe was light and airy and paired perfectly with the salty prosciutto and parm. Perfect starter. Honestly, all the pastas we ordered were absolute fire. Of the three, I liked the Tajarin Al ragù ($20/$34) the most. It's a fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with pork and beef ragù. The pasta is so finely cut; it's delicate. What I liked best was the way the ragù sauce enveloped itself into the folds of the pasta. Each bite was cohesive and really intentional. The risotto was also quite good as well - that night, it was the risotto ai gamberi ($21/$35) which highlight spot prawns. The spot prawns were sweet and the Calabrian chili was a really nice complement to the sweet and creamy. Delish. I'm sure the risotto is great in any season. I must say - the best thing about the menu is the fact that you can order a smaller portion of any of the pasta dishes as to not have to fully commit to one. This is a superb way to eat. Live actually. Include Spinasse on any itinerary if you can.

We were lured over to Due' Cucina after having a fantastic experience with their fresh porchetta…read moresandwiches at the Camp Yelp event earlier this month. Fatty and tender meat, dripping with juices, on top of the perfect focaccia with an ideal crunchy fried crust and airy interior, not to mention the excellent marinated eggplant, tender and filled with tangy vinegar essence. I couldn't wait to give their actual restaurants a try, and that's where we found ourselves over the rainy weekend. This particular location is open and clean with extremely friendly staff. Ordering is really easy on the 3 kiosks in the front, although the pasta chef/cashier is also happy to take orders, offer suggestions, and help with any questions. The menu displays the level of al dente to expect with each type of pasta but can be adjusted in the order notes. They also have a very convenient monitor up near the kitchen that displays order status, whether in the preparation phase or complete. I especially love how this restaurant has bar seating in front of the fresh pasta making station. We were able to watch as the chef mixed up a batch of fresh spaghetti, measuring out the semolina flour and water (at least, that's all I saw her add to the combo mixer-extruder), preparing the die, and then extruding the pasta. And yes, as with any high quality pasta, they use bronze dies for extrusion here! The pasta is dried on racks for a bit to really give that al dente bite when cooked. Suppli Al Telefono ($3.70) - An order comes with a single piece nestled in a mini fry basket. This is somewhat similar to the more commonly seen (in the US at least) arancini. It's a smaller log-shaped fried croquette, with tender rice cooked in a fragrant tomato based sauce, stuffed with tons of gooey, stretchy cheese, and then deep fried to golden perfection. The breading is fantastically crunchy, contrasting against the much softer interior. It's a great pairing of texture and flavor. (5/5) Short Ribs Ragu w/ Fusilloni ($14.90) - The chef recommended the fusilloni with the ragu. The fusilloni, essentially a larger fusilli that has longer "fins", has plenty of spirals and crevices to catch onto the sauce. The extrusion is a little inconsistent, with some pieces being longer than others and others being more spirally, a sign of manual hand cutting rather than being machine sliced. Per the menu, the fusilloni is cooked until a "2" al dente level. This is actually more al dente than most Italian restaurants, meaning the pasta has a very firm bite, yet remains slightly chewy. It's definitely cooked through and pleasant to eat, although trending towards the too al dente side. The pasta is only lightly sauced, but what sauce there is clings perfectly onto the micro rough surface of the pasta. Each bite is consistent in taste with all the rich umami and tangy notes from the red wine tomato sauce. The parmigiano reggiano adds an additional burst of savory saltiness and the short rib, rendered perfectly tender, is given in enough quantity to satisfy. Due Cucina really does serve some great pasta. (5/5) Rustic Porchetta Sandwich ($11.90) - With how great the porchetta sandwich was at Camp Yelp, this is a disappointment. The porchetta, while still flavorful with somewhat anise-like and garlicky aromas, is completely dried out and tough. It's like the pork had been pre-sliced in the morning at a central kitchen, shipped to the restaurant, then placed in a dry heat tray for service. After the meal I confirmed my suspicions with the chef - the porchetta is prepared off site and and driven over every morning. The focaccia, so airy and crisp at Camp Yelp, is also subpar in store. It's floppy, completely saturated with oil, yet feels dried out on the interior. At least the eggplant hasn't degraded in quality too much. While still having a bite (e.g. not super tender), it's grilled and marinated until tangy and savory in a vinaigrette. Interestingly they serve the sandwich on top of a bed of lettuce tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette. The oils in the sandwich drip down while eating to add even more flavor. (3/5) I know that their porchetta is high quality when fresh, but I think the way they have it set up now makes a sandwich that's still tasty, but definitely could be much better. If they choose to open a specialty sandwich shop that roasts the porchetta in house, I'd definitely be a regular. With Due' Cucina, though, I'd stick with the excellent pasta. At the end of the day, pricing is very reasonable. For less than $40 after tax/tip, we both left satisfied. What a rarity for Seattle nowadays. And as a bonus, apparently they refresh the menu often. According to the chef, starting on Monday, Due Cucina will be introducing new pasta shapes, sauces, and different sandwiches. I'll be back for more pasta in the near future! And then I recalled why I didn't want to come back from the first experience. First, the location is unique, and I really appreciate that this business is trying to keep Georgetown alive with cool quirky places to eat. This def fits the bill. But, I couldn't help but notice the political statement taped to the front window, super classy. I dine out to escape my day. I don't need it thrown in my face at dinner. Next, when the menus were brought to us, it was for their 3 course restaurant week special. $50 per person, and there are two choices per course. My family all chose what we wanted and then waited for the meal. Like previous reviewers, the wine is brought out in oversized shot glasses not really, but might as well be). I get that in Italy, dinner wine (peasant fare) is served in cups, not stemware, but $18 for mediocre wine, I'd like to see a more appropriate pour. Lamb Polpettine was essentially lamb meatballs on a cold and very loose polenta with what was described as salsa diavola, but it was essentially a chunky red sauce. There was nothing about this that wowed us. In fact, it was pretty bland overall and underwhelming. But the manner in which you are greeted and served at the restaurant and the remainder of service, you would think it was going to change how you felt about food. I don't even want to go into the salad. Again, underwhelming. The mains came out and although tasty, the portions were very small compared to the price we paid. And if you opt for the truffle, it's finely grated and it covers the entire plate. Also, it's an extra $12......for less than $2 worth of black truffle. It absolutely ruined the dish. An educated server would be able to caution against it, if, of course it wasn't intended to raise the final price, essentially raising the tip. If you order risotto there, be fair warned, it is extremely loosed and not very well made imo. Bland, lacks imagination, and the rice grains were cracked and soggy on the ends and crunchy in the middle.. Last was the dessert. Again, it was tasty, but it comes in these tiny jars that equal about 2-3 spoonfuls of either panna cotta, or tiramisu. At the end of our meal, the bill was over $250. For that price, I could have eaten somewhere where I could have left a little more satisfied and felt like I was actually in an upscale restaurant, not a political statement masquerading as fine dining. Having worked food for a long time, I felt obligated to leave the customary 20% gratuity knowing full well the workers there made their "living wage" before the gratuity kicks in. It included an additional 2% to pay for employee health insurance. Isn't that an employer cost? Why put that on the check? Anyway, out the door for $300 and vowing never to come back. Buyer beware.

I tried to order the fettuccine de mare, listed at $29 (no extra fees on Toast), but they told me it would be $43. That already didn't make sense. Then the server says, "We actually have 50% off happy hour until 11, come in and dine." So I came in. Ordered a drink, escargot, and a steak medium rare. The escargot came out fine. Then... nothing. 39 minutes later (at 10:45pm), the server asks if I'm waiting on anything else. Yes... my steak. She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.
