I was here for a work party and loved the food. Upon exploring the website, we saw their Nonnakase option and decided to splurge on a reservation when we had family in town. BEST IDEA EVER. It was legitimately one of the best dinners I have ever had. There were 9 courses total, and everything the chef brought out was incredible. The service was wonderful and personal and attentive from the chef to the bartender to the wine director. So while I already would recommend this place to any serious fan of Italian cuisine, I cannot speak highly enough of the Nonnakase experience. Absolutely worth every penny. Mezzanotte has really great food. we tried the caesar salad, the house bread, and two pastas- the sage butter and the ragu. we also tried the hot honey carrots. We looked up bottle ratings and prices, i will say some of the wine on the menu was a little pricy. But everything we ordered was delicious and well seasoned, worth the price and the wait. they seemed to be having a party in their patio area which i think might've slowed service down a bit- our pasta took a while to come out. For those short of time and live with no adventure I'll cut to the chase. The food is exquisite. For the rest, please read on. This last week while traveling for business to Seattle I had the pleasure of dining at Mezzanote. Their name of course implies it is an Italian restaurant but what you don't realize until you have sat and initiated your meal is that you, regardless of choice are embarking on a beautiful tribute to Northern Italian cuisine. At first arrival, the immediate impression is one of modest presentation but friendly and very inviting ambience. The staff, including our Server Marcus was attentive and had impeccable timing to read the table and flow of those joined in the meal. Check back was perfect and his service support was equally in tune with the other tables on the patio where we sat. Now this is what you have been waiting for... The food and I mean, we had almost one of every item on the menu and every dish was simply delicious. Tastes that were balanced and never overwhelming, but truly inspired dishes that your taste buds understand that the food was made with care and meant to satisfy even the toughest of pallets. Let's start with the house focaccia and ask for the disco sauce to dip your bread. It was a tummy satisfying start but then they dropped the focaccia regala and with the cheeses melted in a medley that left me thankful I was as they say "hungry as a hostage" because the meal had just begun. The next appetizer brought out was the Carote... This medley of carrots smoked with a Chile Honey Glaze left this BBQ born and raised Mexican wondering why ?? And then I had my first forkful and any doubt that I had about the chef creating something sacrilegious by smoking carrots left me, as the flavors were amazing. For a moment I forgot I was eating my vegetables.. where was this when I was a younger man. On to the main courses and the Reginette was first up. This Bolognese was a hearty blend of flavor and subtlety as it wasn't overly anything except satisfying. The Braciola Dia Miaale was a durock pork chop with a rhubar mostarda and salsify puree with asparagus that could not have been better. You didn't have to be a pork chop fan to enjoy this at all. Every dish that arrived was better than the one before. The Bucatini C'Anciuova, Prawns with Calabrian Chile, anchovies, tomatoe and orange zest was a delight and I don't normally eat anything overly spicy. This was a balance of heat with a twist of tang that the orange zest delivered flawlessly. Allow me to share that it is imperative you save room for dessert. Their tiramisu taste as if there is some Italian grandmother locked away in a pastry room kicking these out. They have other desserts to be sure, but this is the star of the show in my opinion. For those of you that are wine enthusiast, they did have a wine list that was impressive. All in all, for those that follow me, you know that it is a rarity for me to give any place I visit five stars from the first visit. Consistency is premium in my book. But as I mentioned to one of our fellow diners. This food is amazing, and the reality is each of these dishes could be served in a five-star venue layered with opulence and still the food would outshine the location. The only drawback was there was no Coke Zero... Damn it ...Turns out though that can be a pretty tough find in the city of Seattle in all the restaurants. For one that does not participate in alcohol or wine, my taste buds were not underserved and I survived without my Zero. This place is a go-to for any Italian yearning for authentic Italian food made with love. That's the only way I can describe just how good the food is. This isn't something that is prepared in volume for the masses. The chef and that team are simply serving with their hearts and it resonates with every bite. I'll be back, again and again. Oh and should you find yourself needing to go to the restroom. Ask for the Disco restroom.. that alone is worth the drive... Lol until next time Mezzanote! Thank you for a wonderful meal. read more

This little spot on a quiet street in Georgetown is charming, and staffed by lovely, helpful people. The burrata appetizer topped with cherry agrodolce and pickled red onions was so delicious! And my daily special pasta was outstanding! Absolutely incredible! I walked in around 6pm on a Friday and was lucky enough to get a seat at the bar, though I'd recommend making a reservation if you want to guarantee a spot. The space is cozy and intimate. Small and very fun. In the nicer weather, it looks like they open up a patio outside. The wine comes in cute cups, we l loved it! I went here for date night recently and it was so special. The patio on a nice day is magical. The waitstaff were super attentive and kind. Do let them know if you're celebrating something -- they were wonderful! We ordered two apps, two pasta dishes, and split the pork chop. The Royal focaccia was perfection -- that Italian cheese in it is amazing. The prawns were excellent and had a good kick to them too. We loved every pasta dish we tried; you can't go wrong. My wife loves this place because they make their noodles from scratch, or so they say. I was super stoked to try this place....again. And then I recalled why I didn't want to come back from the first experience. First, the location is unique, and I really appreciate that this business is trying to keep Georgetown alive with cool quirky places to eat. This def fits the bill. But, I couldn't help but notice the political statement taped to the front window, super classy. I dine out to escape my day. I don't need it thrown in my face at dinner. Next, when the menus were brought to us, it was for their 3 course restaurant week special. $50 per person, and there are two choices per course. My family all chose what we wanted and then waited for the meal. Like previous reviewers, the wine is brought out in oversized shot glasses not really, but might as well be). I get that in Italy, dinner wine (peasant fare) is served in cups, not stemware, but $18 for mediocre wine, I'd like to see a more appropriate pour. Lamb Polpettine was essentially lamb meatballs on a cold and very loose polenta with what was described as salsa diavola, but it was essentially a chunky red sauce. There was nothing about this that wowed us. In fact, it was pretty bland overall and underwhelming. But the manner in which you are greeted and served at the restaurant and the remainder of service, you would think it was going to change how you felt about food. I don't even want to go into the salad. Again, underwhelming. The mains came out and although tasty, the portions were very small compared to the price we paid. And if you opt for the truffle, it's finely grated and it covers the entire plate. Also, it's an extra $12......for less than $2 worth of black truffle. It absolutely ruined the dish. An educated server would be able to caution against it, if, of course it wasn't intended to raise the final price, essentially raising the tip. If you order risotto there, be fair warned, it is extremely loosed and not very well made imo. Bland, lacks imagination, and the rice grains were cracked and soggy on the ends and crunchy in the middle.. Last was the dessert. Again, it was tasty, but it comes in these tiny jars that equal about 2-3 spoonfuls of either panna cotta, or tiramisu. At the end of our meal, the bill was over $250. For that price, I could have eaten somewhere where I could have left a little more satisfied and felt like I was actually in an upscale restaurant, not a political statement masquerading as fine dining. Having worked food for a long time, I felt obligated to leave the customary 20% gratuity knowing full well the workers there made their "living wage" before the gratuity kicks in. It included an additional 2% to pay for employee health insurance. Isn't that an employer cost? Why put that on the check? Anyway, out the door for $300 and vowing never to come back. I was here for a birthday dinner. Wanted Italian so we checked this place out. There's an indoor and outdoor portion. The inside was kinda dark... not my favorite. But we sat on the outside. 100% would recommend sitting on the outside as it was nice. The service was great. Our waiter was nice and recommended things to us since we weren't too sure about what to get or flavors. They even gave us a free dessert for a bday! How nice(: The area is quiet. There's plenty of street parking. The restaurant is nice too. The food was just okay to me. Nothing mind-blowing. Typical Italian food. It was priced on the higher side. I don't even know where to start. The flavor here simply cannot be beat. Mezzanotte has a very small dining room with an open kitchen, and lots of mood lighting. The menu is also small, but it is mighty!! We started with the focaccia and the burrata. The focaccia was perfectly fluffy in the inside, a slight crunchy on the outside with flaky salt. The burrata was the star of the night though. The burrata itself was perfect but the accompaniments elevated it! A mixture of roasted vegetables, evoo, flaky salt and walnuts. It was superb. I will always order it from now on!! I couldn't get enough of it, the mixture of textures was just perfect. My friend had the crab pasta and I could t taste it but she said it was perfectly creamy and the noodles perfection. I had the lamb papperdelle. The lamb didn't taste gamey at all, the paperdelle was also cooked perfectly. The sauce was sublime. It was savory and tart with the lime. Overall it was amazing. The cake was okay, the star of the show for that was the orange blossom whipped cream! The staff was also incredibly nice. Mixed review, highlights and lowlights. Highlights: The risotto and two pasta dishes were really good. The Black Cod was also very well prepared, but it came out warm, not hot. Service was very nice and pleasant. Caesar salad was solid, enjoyed but could have had a little more anchovy. Lowlights: Portions are way too small (compared to peer restaurants Spinasse, Cantinetta, Serafina), probably the smallest pasta dishes in town. Our group ordered 3 desserts, the Tiramisu was fine, but the other two were literally toppings that I would expect on a dessert, not a dessert itself. We couldn't order the special pasta because they ran out (7pm). Server said they run out every night which begs the question, why not make more? I'd give them another shot mostly because the pasta dishes were really tasty. They need to fix their portions and get someone to figure out dessert which was a total miss. read more

Beautiful, small, rustic ambiance. There is outdoor seating, it looked nice. We sat inside near the bar. Our party was small, just two of us. I had their enchantress drink. It was very subtle and light. We started off with the ceasar and Burrata. The ceasar salad was lack luster, nothing great, probably wouldn't order again. However, the burrata was devine. I loved the addition of huckleberries. So delicious. We then got one of their specials and another dish on the menu. The Lumache and the Reginette. Both were good. I absolutely loved the Lumache, it was made with i believe veal. Had just the right amount of spice to it. So delicious. The Reginette was fine, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Not a show stopper. We then shared the Pere & cream dessert. WOW! Now that was delicious. Very light, not overly sweet. The pears had a nice spice to them. It was delicious. I had high hopes for this place but the food did nit come up to par. VERY limited menu...six choices. Risotto was undercooked, to and overpowered by lemon and wine. Gulf shrimp spaghetti..thick undercooked noodles with a chili sauce that was all you could taste. Overall, small portions and higher prices. Took a long time for food to come out. Two in our party had the steak and said it was perfect. Fusion Italian is fine but they really need to get the basics like cooking noodles correctly down. read more

This place is very trendy for today's wine bar/Italian scene, and i absolutely loved it. guilty of loving a well-designed aesthetic, but it doesn't matter if a restaurant doesn't have the chops to back it up, but mezzanotte does. their server was super kind and loved to laugh, and i always appreciate that. we ordered their house wine which was delicious, with their house focaccia and party sauce. that duo alone, and it would have been a good time. honestly, if you come here and just wanna down some chilled red and bread, go for it. not a bad option. we had some entrees and we all enjoyed them -- pappardelle, reginette and i forget the third one we had... we also had the capesante poached scallops, which were refreshing and delicious. the little queens were maybe the favorite at the table, and the pastas were all cooked well. for dolci, we had the mousse and fruit, which i think was the only thing for me that fell flat. it was kind of like a messier panna cotta that honestly didn't look very good on the plate. otherwise, no notes! read more

I only walked in since it smelled so good ! I wasn't able to get dinner since I was picking up food from Ciudad and found this wonderful spot The inside was very cozy and small ! Very intimate. I just wanted some focaccia bread since they were closing in 35 minutes and I didn't want to be THAT GUEST .. but the bread = wow it was worth the 5$ or 6 since it was THE BEST I EVER HAD. I found the dressing combination between shallots, dill, walnut oil & vinegar delicious though. I had been seeing this place on IG so I've been wanting to go here! We finally got to check this place out tonight and I am so glad we did! We got the Nocino cocktail and the blood orange shrub. The cocktail was too strong for my taste (I like sweeter drinks) but it's still good! I loved the blood orange shrub! The server told us that they make their sodas in house and they don't have any store bought sodas like coke or Pepsi. Im ok with that though! The shrub was delish! I would order two or 3 of that next time! We started with the focaccia and the party sauce. The bread was amazing! Soft in the middle and the crust is chewy. Then the party sauce, which is made out of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Calabrian peppers, and i believe parmesan, is addicting! I would buy a jar of that sauce! The tajarin and the rigatoni were delish! My picture ended up being blurry but I remember vividly how delicious both dishes are. They're not overly sauced or flavored so you can taste and focus on the pasta, but both dishes were perfectly seasoned! The pancetta, the pork belly, was good as well! I do like the sweeter top. I do wish that it had the skin on and that it were crunchy so that it would balance the tenderness and the fat from the pork belly. But the lentils at the bottom did the job in providing the balance needed for such a rich and fatty pork belly. Nonetheless, I loved the flavors of the dish! The decor is beautiful! I love the brick walls and the darker interior. Oh and the bathroom is the coolest bathroom I have ever seen! I had dinner with a friend here. They were able to accommodate me on a Sunday night without a reservation. The setting is a bit dark and cozy. Despite this more intimate setting, the loud music does not allow for easy conversation. They have the perfect setting that could justify what they charge. There is outside seating enclosed in a plastic tent with heaters. It too is very loud. The service staff can come across as a bit standoff- ish and made it clear that there are no substitutes or additions to the menu. The explanation was more of the "chefs took time to craft this so you should enjoy it." Now the restaurant serves Italian - style cuisine. This is becoming a harder sell to me with each trip I make to Italy. This is not bragging, but becoming more familiar with what that means when I am being served Italian cuisine at a restaurant. I had the chicory cesar salad. This salad has a heavy cream -based dressing with some anchovy flavor. This salad has a bitter taste , expected because of the chicory. So here is the thing- can the salad be a salad and not a new invention on something that is simply beautiful to eat at the start of the dinner. I would take a pass on this. My dinning companion asked if she could have the salmon steak with that salad and was told no, can't breakup the menu. I absolutely love cheese. I have had burrata many, many times. It is served with a crunch chewing bread that was excellent. The burrata is served on a bed of pesto, pine nuts, and peppers and was tasty. The burrata was ooey, not chewy, and a bit more on the liquid side than I can remember 6 months ago when I last had it. I have dined at some of the most expensive restaurants in the city, and for $55 dollars per person, I did not get my money's worth and did not finish the meal. I would recommend serving the best Cesar salad that is classic and dazzling the patrons with your best dishes for dinner- I am willing to come back and try your desserts. read more

The cocktails were the best part of our meal, which isn't to say the foods bad or even that these are the best cocktails I've ever had. Thats just the overall take away. The focaccia bread, which was our second favorite, eek, was paired with a really high-quality olive oil and vinegar accompaniment . We ordered the savory panna cotta appetizer because it sounded exciting and we had never seen anything like that on a menu. One out of five of us thoroughly enjoyed it and helped us finish it off. The rest of us passed on third and fourth bites. The burrata was a standard burrata, nothing special . It was the accompaniments that disappointed. The pesto was downright pasty, and the lemon tapenade was bitter . I'm not sure how these two standards could come out so uninspiringly. The reginette pasta was over al dente, just too hard to fully enjoy the Bolognese. The other pastas we had, the tajarin (simple enough to not offend or impress) and the tagliatelle were all right. Everything seem to be just a bit underdone with enough al denta to actually Shake it stick to the teeth, which wasn't super pleasant. The peas in the tagliatelle were the most dominate flavor diminishing the morel mushrooms. We sat on the patio, which was really nice and the improved from when we arrived as we started to build a large bill. We declined dessert in place of another round of delicious cocktails.
