my boyfriend took me to Towry sushi last night, where we enjoyed the Omakase and sake pairing. Our taste buds were dazzled by so many delicate flavors. Freshest fish prepared with precision. The three socket pairing is plenty, and there are nice variety of dry, fruit forward and umami flavors. The chef explained where each of the fish were from which made for an enjoyable interactive meal. Note the pace of service is quite fast as they turned through a full Omakase and 45 minutes. Definitely one of the best dining experience is in Austin.

Quick and delicious. 12pcs in 45 minutes $110 incl taxes fees & 20% gratuity A few of our bites were a bit on the bland side, but that comes from someone who is used to a lot more sauce on their nigiri. Plus the chef prob wants us to really taste the natural sweetness and flavors of the fish. The sushi chef is quite innovative and experimental with the food. If you do the 8pm seating or earlier you can go outside right after to grab some hand rolls if you're still hungry (they close at 9pm). Same owner, same kitchen, same high quality fish. We shared 6 rolls among us 4 after

Words truly cannot express how much I love Urokos All You Can Eat Omakase. Things to keep in mind when coming here, this is all you can eat but it's a buffet style. The nigiri is prepared in front of you and placed on plates that everyone can go up to in a line and grab from. The etiquette is to let everyone grab at least one before going for seconds for new items. They also only do nigiri BUT the rice to fish ratio is chefs kiss . The space is very cozy and intimate and they limit it to I believe 12 people a sitting. The chefs are amazing and treat each piece of nigiri with so much care that everything comes out amazing. The interpreter/waiter(im sorry i don't know what your title is ) is also so kind and wonderful and he was on top of everything. There were always clean plates and water on tables. The day that I went they also had some blood left over from the tuna carving that they had done earlier that week and it was so good! I can not recommend coming here for the All You Can Eat Omakase enough. They have the best quality fish and the atmosphere is super casual which makes it a perfect date night/ family meal. Seriously do yourself a favor and try them out the next time tickets go live.

Overall: 3.8/5 [delivery] My husband ordered four hand rolls via Postmates and requested less rice, which he loved. The rolls were a good size and packaged nicely. I took a bite of each to try them, but ultimately, they didn't impress me, and I wouldn't order from here again. Sake Toro ($8.85): This roll included fatty salmon, umami cucumber, avocado, ginger, lemon-miso, and shiso. It tasted like a standard salmon hand roll--good, but I've had fresher salmon elsewhere (though not in Austin). Hama Toro ($8.85): Featuring fatty hamachi, avocado, umami cucumber, shiso, wasabi butter, and crispy quinoa, this was a unique combination. The crispy quinoa paired surprisingly well with the hamachi, making it my favorite of the four. Bluefin Tuna Taku ($9.65): This roll contained bluefin tuna, takuan, cucumber, wasabi-butter, and shiso. Unfortunately, it tasted fishy, and I didn't enjoy it. Marfa ($9.65): Made with tuna, hamachi, avocado, yuzu koshō, cucumber, and shiso, this roll was just okay. It didn't really appeal to me.

bigger than i expected and was good but the salmon skin handroll was just cooked salmon ; i would try a different one next time as it looked like their fish was very fresh its located in like a business park and the vibes are very casual

Kept my promise and came back for their omakase! It's definitely top two in the city, and it's incredibly affordable. I came with two friends, and we were blown away by the experience and by each of the pieces. I love that it's a more traditional omakase so they stick to traditional flavors instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. I will say that the host is a bit rude and not very personable. When we came in, I asked if we could sit anywhere and he very rudely retorted, "No, you can't sit anywhere." The host and the sushi chef are both not the nicest and they stick to the menu and the experience, but I've been to other omakase spots where the sushi chef makes dining a true experience where they will chat and drink with you. I understand that time is limited, so perhaps that isn't the experience or vibe they're going for. Every piece is so beautiful and well created, and I would absolutely come back again.

Uroko is a hidden gem for sushi lovers in Austin. This small, intimate hand roll bar delivers high-quality fish in a cozy, minimalist setting that feels like a true hole-in-the-wall find. The menu offers a great variety of options, from classic toro and salmon to more unique selections, all wrapped in crisp seaweed with perfectly seasoned rice. There is no waitstaff. You go up to the counter to order and pick up your order when it is ready. The lady at the counter was very helpful with her suggestions on what to order. They have sushi classes that I would love to make a point in attending in the near future, which I thought was a nice offering. The hand rolls themselves are generously size- they're not too big, not too small and just the right balance to enjoy the fresh flavors without being overwhelmed. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a longer meal, Uroko makes for a delightful experience. It's a must-visit for anyone craving top-tier sushi in a relaxed, no-frills environment.

Overall a pretty fine hand roll spot for lunch. They don't have a TON of options but enough variety that we grabbed six different rolls. They were rolled well but there wasn't as much fish as I may have expected. They're also a bit difficult to eat, as the majority of the non-rice ingredients, especially the fish, sticks out of the top. So once you have the first few bites, it's really predominantly rice and seaweed toward the bottom. I will say that the space the restaurant is in is really cool. I could definitely see myself spending time here either studying, doing work, etc. Plenty of different seating options, low-key vibes, multiple restaurant options, easy parking.

We (party of 3) tried out Uroko as part of the AYCE Omakase experience. Start time was 5PM for 90 minutes of AYCE Omakase but by the time we were seated and everyone had a chance to order drinks and the host explained the concept it was 5:10PM. The seating is for 12 and it is served buffet style as All You Can Eat with 2 chefs preparing the sushi and an additional employee assisting with drinks and dishes. After all 12 of us had each grabbed a plate of what we wanted, the chefs quickly fell behind and it was difficult to find enough sushi variety after the third trip. My plates were 10 pieces, then 8 pieces, 3, 2, 5, 4, 1, 2, 2. After 45 minutes we were waiting for the next batch to be prepared. The chef made varieties using the same pieces of fish (salmon, hamachi, shrimp, tuna, beef, scallop, and a few others) and switched out toppings as he liked. 12 people was too many for an AYCE concept with only 2 chefs. The quality of the seafood was not high enough for an Omakase experience at this price point. The rice was not as flavorful and delicate as I would have expected for an Omakase. The seating is made for parties of 2 and if you want to sit more together you have to ask in advance. This is more of a unique concept but could have been executed better.

I have three words for you: FROZEN SAKE SLUSHY!!!!! OMFG it is probably one of the greatest frozen drinks I've ever had. I more you sip, the stronger it gets. Let's talk sushi: From the Northern Lights to Ebi Tempra and everything in between, you will never go wrong. The absolute freshest ingredients!

This place isn't even a hidden gem anymore--it's just straight-up popular now. There's always a line, but honestly, I get it. It's that good. The hand rolls here are seriously amazing. Everything's super fresh, and the balance of flavors is always on point. I've come so many times and they've never let me down. My top 3 hand rolls: Marfa - Tuna, avocado, yuzukosho, cucumber, shiso So clean and fresh, with just the right kick from the yuzukosho. I could eat this one every time. Flower & Veg - Spring mix, avocado, cucumber, carrot, lemon miso Super light but packed with flavor. The lemon miso gives it that nice citrusy twist. Springdale (special) - Grilled salmon, avocado, cucumber, shiso, lemon miso, ikura Smoky, creamy, a little fancy with the ikura on top. Total flavor bomb. The staff are always chill and friendly, and the space has such a good vibe--bright, casual, and welcoming. This is hands down my go-to spot for hand rolls.

    Tracey Z.

Very great friendly staff. The food here was very fresh and delicious. The frozen matcha latte was delicious. Very cool and refreshing and not too sweet. Good matcha flavor. The potato croquette was also very yummy. Tasted almost like fried mashed potatoes. Good texture. The unagi cheese was my favorite roll. Good flavor and texture but I wish there was more eel. The sake toro roll also had very fresh fish. Good balance of flavors and textures but it was missing something that would push it to the next level.

I've been coming here for the last few years now and it has been my go to spot for some great hand rolls. I love the combinations they have to select from and they use high quality ingredients.

Menu items included strawberry gazpacho, an arugula salad, carrot hummus, lovely grilled chicken marinated in Mediterranean spices, and berry ricotta tarts for dessert. Each item was more epic than the last. My girlfriend and I agreed that this was the best meal we've had in a long time. Absolutely delicious! My class was about 15 people all looking to learn about the mother sauces. Frankly, I took this because a friend was taking it and why the hell not? But there were people there to really learn. Like, never touched a dish style. I was surprised that the class wasn't individual cooking stations but more like a watch and learn. There was some class participation but you're not making your own. That's the first thing to know. The second thing is that it's like being back in a legit classroom. There will be idiots, there will be knowitalls, there will be class clowns, there will be tedious questions and please repeat thats. Our instructor was so kind and patient with these people, long after I would have asked them to test the boiling oil please. I wouldn't pre-eat exactly... but I also wouldn't go starving. You may end up eating a full meal but I'd be prepared not to. After we made each sauce, they were poured over pasta in a little ramekin and distributed. The things I'd like to see included: -- a way to watch the chef without leaning over the table. A mirror? A flat screen? Something so she doesn't have to tilt the pot precariously. -- an email later with the recipes vs. the paper recipes to take home -- a big disclaimer for dummies that if you're going into a class to make sauces, they're probably not going to be vegan or gluten-free. Overall a good experience. I definitely learned some things and hope to apply them to my next big pot of mac n cheese.
