Such a fun date night experience! The cooking classes are held in a beautiful space in east Austin…read moreand are lead by very talented and kind chefs. They describe it as a "recreational" cooking class, which means there is some light cooking involved but they've done a lot of the heavy lifting which takes the stress out of the experience and maximizes enjoyment. There were about 15 people total in the class. It's BYOB and they give you all the recipes after. We attended the New American Mediterranean class. Menu items included strawberry gazpacho, an arugula salad, carrot hummus, lovely grilled chicken marinated in Mediterranean spices, and berry ricotta tarts for dessert. Each item was more epic than the last. My girlfriend and I agreed that this was the best meal we've had in a long time. Absolutely delicious! We can't wait to try some of the recipes at home, and attend another cooking class (possibly the Italian one!) soon.

My son and I worked side by side on our own batches, watching and listening to chef Pascal as she walked us through the process. Bake Austin provided a way for my son and I to spend special time together during quarantine. Not only that, we learned a great deal and have become better cooks because of it. Since the class I purchased an oven thermometer and a scale. I leaned that my oven takes much more time than I thought to come up to temp! My younger son watched a recording of a brownie class from Bake Austin and made a batch of brownies. The next day he flipped through my cook book and made a 2nd batch of brownies. He's baked at least once per week since watching his first Bake Austin video. I think the video made him realize he could bake, and bake he has! During our strange quarantine period Bake Austin and Chef Pascal have been a bright spot in our lives. I'm incredibly grateful for their time and effort and I hope they receive enough paying customers to make it.

We have a house with five kids so that led to many fights. Chef Pascal's classes kept her focused on something she has been interested in since she was little. They kept her busy, planning, buying, organizing, and led to nice treats for the family. While not everything she made was easy or worked out, she learned to work through it and learned from the mistakes for next time. She has grown much more confident in her abilities and excited to try new things in the kitchen. We look forward to Bake Austin's summer camps and other future opportunities.

I had scheduled a cooking class for the first weekend in March. It was all set and confirmed- we…read morehad even picked the menu. I got an email two weeks before the date and they said that something had come up and gave me alternative dates. This event was for people out of town and needed to be that specific date. Luis emailed me back and said that another date would be the date. I was very frustrated that the date was changed. I made a booking elsewhere. Thai Fresh emailed me and said that they could actually do the original date. I emailed them back and told them that I already had another booking. My suggestion would be to keep bookings and not try to reschedule. Very frustrating working with them.

Since we were going to be in Austin a specific weekend, we didn't have much of a choice on what class to take. The only class available was Thai Vegetarians. All the girls ended up liking the food. We made Hot and Sour Soup, Bean Thread Salad w/ tofu and mushroom, Pad Prik King w/ tofu and red curry paste, and Pad Sea Ew w/ tofu and eggs. I thought they tasted as good as the dishes with meat. There were a total of 11 people in the class. Jam was feeling under the weather, but you wouldn't have known it. We all stood around an island while Jam explained the dish and the ingredients while guiding us on what to do next. The island was split up in three burners so there were 3-4 people making a serving of each dish. It was interactive and we all were able to contribute. She gave us a hard copy of the recipes at the beginning of class, and you can chose to follow them/take notes. There were a lot of leftovers and some brought them to go. It was a little warm inside. They needed to crank up the temperature just a wee bit. They also ran out of Thai tea. We ordered 5 but they only had enough to make 1. I do agree with the other reviewers about the cost of the class. I wouldn't have paid the full price for this type of class and am glad we purchased a Groupon. Overall, we had a great time. We left there full and more knowledgeable about Thai cooking.

It is an open space with all sorts of art supplies, tools, and just about anything your imagination can muster up. Lots of inspiration. I was hoping to make more than just one small block and have different supplies like fabric for printing. It was very therapeutic to carve my small block. The class felt a little scattered - but it was a very easy going environment, super relaxed. Our instructor was friendly and encouraged us to tap into originality without overthinking it instead of looking up patterns or inspo on our phone. I really liked that. And she offered us all coffee, freshly made. You can basically come in to do all the arts and craft your heart desires, on a donation basis. Affordable and unique way to release your artistic side without investing too much in all the supplies and then an abandoning a hobby. I'd come back with a friend and check out a different class.

They had construction paper, ribbons, highlighters, stamps, hot glue guns, and anything you might find at Michael's. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and showed us how she made her lanterns. At the end, I was able to create my own lanterns with some creative twists. I had a fun time and will recommend my crafty friends to check this place out!
