My boyfriend signed us up for Chef Megan's Shrimp Risotto Cooking class and let me tell you, I have never had so much fun! The menu for the class was: Kale Caesar Salad for the appetizer portion, Shrimp Scampi Risotto for the entree portion and Tiramisu for the dessert. Our group was only four people total so we got to do a lot of hands-on work. Chef Megan is super patient and extremely funny!! She made the environment feel super safe and encouraging. She gave us great tips to bring even after class and amazing stories from culinary school. With the combination of the jazz music, delicious food, and funny interactions, I had an amazing time cooking. I will definitely be looking in to her other classes when i book next. Thank you Megan for teaching me how to make delicious risotto!!!

3 stars. Rating is up because the food we cooked was good, but rating is brought down by the experience. We had Chef Danushka. First of all, the Cozymeal website is not intuitive at all. I was so confused on what to expect for this experience. I requested a dairy and gluten free allergy alteration and she said the brownies couldn't be made gluten free. I asked if I could bring my own and if we'd be able to take leftovers and she didn't respond. Apparently you can do any class at any time. We got to her house and she asked us to take off our shoes and was not inviting at all. Everything was set up but she didn't even ask us our names before she wanted to jump right in. Her dog growled at us and she said oh it's fine she does that. She did have gluten free flour once we got there and a card for my moms birthday which was appreciated. For being a star chef she was not educated on gluten free product saying she didn't know how it would work. She said stuff like "wash your hands cause idk where they've been". So yes dry sense of humor but c'mon you're hosting strangers. Maybe it's a cultural difference? I felt like we were a bother to her. We ended up using her ingredients that were already opened which I find super cheap. And therefore I too agree with the other comment about this experience being WAY TOO overpriced. She did end up giving us the leftover chicken and risotto but kept the extra brownie we made...? There was plenty of food for sure, so that's a plus. I wouldn't be completely opposed to doing the experience again with another chef, but I think for an experience similar to this, it's very overpriced.

If you have the opportunity to book a class with Chef Zach you will not regret it!! We had such an amazing time at Chef Zach's Central Italian Cuisine cooking class! He was so unbelievably warm and welcoming to both me and my daughter, his knowledge was incredibly impressive and the overall experience was a blast - not to mention tasty. We will definitely be booking another class with Chef Zach soon!!

Chef Danushka's home was a lovely place to have our cooking class experience. Her roomy kitchen and relaxed yet informative style allowed for all four of us to practice our skills and have a great time! Chef Danushka made sure to stop before we ate each course to take a group picture of us with our creations, which was fun as we are picture people! We cooked some yummy food and greatly enjoyed our evening learning from and visiting with chef Danushka. Definitely plan to try out her ravioli class next!

I took the tapas and paella class with chef Daniel and what a great experience! He taught us everything from how to chop with a knife to properly cook garlic and rice. Chef Daniel was very knowledgeable, gave us a ton of backstory on paella and answered most of our unsophisticated paella questions with a sense of humor. The experience itself was seamless. I felt completely involved in every part of the process all the way to dinner. I would highly recommend this to anyone as a date, to meet new people or to bond with friends. Or to pick up new culinary skills!

Freda's Kitchen - Iron Chef Review…read more We engaged Ashley and her team to create an Iron Chef style event for our family of fifteen ages 5-84 over the holidays. They did an absolutely incredible job! Ashley made sure every detail was taken care of and coordinated the entire event flawlessly. Ashley's team members (Kyle, Kristin, Holly and Chef Uyen Pham) were all exceptionally professional and they ensured it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Although the final results are still under protest (just kidding). We highly recommend Freda's Kitchen for anyone looking for something different whether it be a team building or in our case a family event. We also held it at Wilson's Appliance in Dripping Springs who were gracious in allowing to use their top of line equipment in their model kitchens.

The space where we ate was gorgeous and felt like we were dining in someone's beautiful home. Half our group was running late (30 minutes!) due to the marathon closing off some roads, and they still gave us our full experience. FYI, it is BYO here! If we had known earlier, we would have brought our own additional drinks, but they did serve us wine. The kitchen was a little cramped for 14 of us, and compared to other cooking classes I've done, it was a little ad-hoc getting everyone organized. They didn't have a pre-set number of people for each station, and with only 2 staff, they were stretched a little thin helping everyone. It all worked out, but it was a little slow figuring out who would do what, with rough last minute estimates on how many people were needed at each spot. Still, our food was great, we all learned some new kitchen skills (though the chef did help us quite a bit to get us there!), and we had a fun time! There were tons of leftovers too.

They describe it as a "recreational" cooking class, which means there is some light cooking involved but they've done a lot of the heavy lifting which takes the stress out of the experience and maximizes enjoyment. There were about 15 people total in the class. It's BYOB and they give you all the recipes after. We attended the New American Mediterranean class. Menu items included strawberry gazpacho, an arugula salad, carrot hummus, lovely grilled chicken marinated in Mediterranean spices, and berry ricotta tarts for dessert. Each item was more epic than the last. My girlfriend and I agreed that this was the best meal we've had in a long time. Absolutely delicious! We can't wait to try some of the recipes at home, and attend another cooking class (possibly the Italian one!) soon.

I got an email two weeks before the date and they said that something had come up and gave me alternative dates. This event was for people out of town and needed to be that specific date. Thai Fresh emailed me and said that they could actually do the original date. I emailed them back and told them that I already had another booking. My suggestion would be to keep bookings and not try to reschedule. Very frustrating working with them.

Since we were going to be in Austin a specific weekend, we didn't have much of a choice on what class to take. The only class available was Thai Vegetarians. All the girls ended up liking the food. We made Hot and Sour Soup, Bean Thread Salad w/ tofu and mushroom, Pad Prik King w/ tofu and red curry paste, and Pad Sea Ew w/ tofu and eggs. I thought they tasted as good as the dishes with meat. There were a total of 11 people in the class. Jam was feeling under the weather, but you wouldn't have known it. We all stood around an island while Jam explained the dish and the ingredients while guiding us on what to do next. The island was split up in three burners so there were 3-4 people making a serving of each dish. It was interactive and we all were able to contribute. She gave us a hard copy of the recipes at the beginning of class, and you can chose to follow them/take notes. There were a lot of leftovers and some brought them to go. It was a little warm inside. They needed to crank up the temperature just a wee bit. They also ran out of Thai tea. We ordered 5 but they only had enough to make 1. I do agree with the other reviewers about the cost of the class. I wouldn't have paid the full price for this type of class and am glad we purchased a Groupon. Overall, we had a great time. We left there full and more knowledgeable about Thai cooking.

It wasn't my first Mardi Gras demo class, it lasted about 3 hours and there was wine pairings. It was a wonderful way to celebrate in a lowkey and delicious setting. The chef spoke about the way to prepare the dishes, we tasted them and I learned that New Orleans cuisine has many sauces which (for me) are quite complicated so I am happy to eat them on special occasions when I'm dining out. Most classes are minimum 60-80 dollars and can cost more depending on the ingredients. The classes can be demos or hands-on. Some are 21 and up and will offer wine pairings as well. Pro-tip, they release next month's schedule (on event brite) on the first of the month and offer a 10% discount if you book your next month's class within the first 7 days of the previous month. This year, I was checking out their schedule and it piqued my interest that they offered a shorter than average (1 hr) Lunch and Learn to celebrate Mardi Gras. I booked my ticket which was about 30 dollars, a steal compared to their usual prices. I was delighted to see that Chef Sid was still there, whipping up delicious New Orleans cuisine. We had the crab creole dip, crawfish etouffee over rice and we finished with a brownie and butter pecan praline frosting. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. I also learned a few tricks to try. I hope they offer more of these opportunities because it was a quick, and cost effective way, to come back!
