This is the chai I got. It comes dirty too
    Shannon G.

I saw their oranges were on sale. Was thinking about juicing them for breakfast. Or maybe have them at work as a snack. I got a box of Purely Elizabeth cereal. Every so often I have cereal, not often, but I like to have it on stand by. I got tamarinds. They look like brown hard poop, but the insides are sweet sticky and tart. They don't have a small pit inside. Kind of like rating a cherry, you eat around the pit and spit it out. I got this chai concentrate drink because I had this brand at a coffee shop I recently went to. And loved the chai so much, I wanted to have it at home. Wish me luck I can recreate the drink. I want to give Sheana a shout out. I wasn't able to find the chai I was looking for. So I asked. She had never heard of it, she suggested the tea area, but I didn't see it. Then she showed me on her cave trail Market map where exactly it's located. I didn't even know they had a map. I just go up and down all the isles looking for what I'm in need of. But the map was great. I found it exactly where she said. So thankful for Sheana for going above and beyond to locate an item I was looking for. I had an email from Central Market with a coupon. It was spend $40.00 and get $5.00 off. Which is a nice little savings. My total was $55.00 dropped it down to $50.00 and it was things I needed and was going to buy regardless of a coupon. My cashier was nice. Greeted me when I walked up to her. I did have Kim bag my groceries for me. And she was nice as well. For some reason, maybe the coupon, maybe it's because the new sale ad came out, but Thursday in the afternoon was packed. The parking lot, which is large, was full. I circled around a few lanes just to find a parking spot. So they were busy on Thursday.

Needed some salad, and few other things. Love their prepared salads. Price is great too considering same salads in restaurants would charge you double if not more. Love my Central Market.

Central Market never disappoints. Fresh fruits and vegetables, beverages, fresh breads, pastries, and soo much more. This time found a whole arrey of cold pressed juices and green teas. They have options in mixed fruit, antioxidant version, single fruit, apple cider variations etc. Got the Orange Carrot Ginger. Opened it right there in the store, it was very refreshing, half was over even before I paid for it. Since it is fresh juice, the shelf life advised is 4 days. Next, went searching for green tea. The aisle is very well organized and decorated with huge posters on top explaining the various kinds of teas and their effectiveness. The posters did their job, I spent a lot of time wondering if I need more sleep to get energy, or drink the energy tea for direct impact instead... (wink) . Finally settled on the caffine free hibiscus tea. Looked like a good option. Must visit again (and again).

Back to school stroll event was great, they were giving away food samples and bento lunch boxes if you signed up in advance. Friendly, busy staff, good quality and big variety of product. Restrooms are always clean and maintained. Lots of goodies and yummies. Love their bread, gelato and baked stuff. I like to come when it's mot crowded, but on Saturday was busier due to event.

All right folks, I see that I need to spend a little bit more time in central market on another day outside of Tuesday where I come to get roses. I was out of some of my juicing supply, so I decided to grab some veggies and take a tour of the store a little bit further. Honestly, it's a happy place and it gives me a form of peace that have some good music in my ears and walk around the store to see all the neat and yummy choices. Sarah helped me out and rang up all my goodies. She was so pleasant to speak with and based on the reviews that is the type of service you guys continue to provide. Thanks Central market for making the experience a true experience.

Beautiful store, clean, organized and bright. Great selection of products and flowers.a little above average cost, but worth it.

This grocery store has some really nifty niche items. The bakery looks so good! We went here to look for a specific high-end chocolate bar and after some searching found it ($10/each). They support local and you can find some great local foods here, albeit at a high price.

This is the upstairs seating area. Also has outdoor seating area.

Great for lunch and work. Freshly prepared lunch at the Central Market Cafe made for a nice spot to get on a Zoom call. My new favorite office on the road spot. Eat, work and be merry!!!

I went to the Central Market cooking school for a cooking class. The class started at 6:30pm and check in started at around 6:05pm. I arrived right around 6:25pm. I was seared at a table of four. We all had name tags which took the initial awkwardness of meeting new people away. Executive chef Sid welcomed us, explained what we were cooking, some history about the chef author and the food we were cooking for the class. We were instructed to wash our hands and wear our aprons. We were served a white wine while waiting for everyone to settle in. We started with the dessert portion of the cooking because that had the longest cooking time. We then cooked the appetizer portion of our class, and sat down to eat while the cooking school staff cleaned up the kitchen. I love cooking but hate washing dishes so this was an awesome part of the class. We then washed our hands and learned how to make the other two dishes. We then plated and ate our creations. We were served a red wine with our meal. I recommend this for a date night or a special friends' night out. The wine pours were nice and heavy. Parking was very friendly. Who doesn't love cooking adventures without the cleaning part? I do! And I bet you do too! I recommend 5/5

Central Market is an exceptional grocery store experience. Not only can you find every food item of your dream, you also can sample almost anything from their meat and cheese deli areas. I was so impressed by the set up of their produce section and how thoughtfully everything was placed throughout the store. Considering the quality, things were reasonably priced and it made me consider moving to Austin! I overindulged in their pecans and smoked chipotle turkey meat. I wish I had brought a checked in luggage because they had an impressive selection of chocolate nut spreads. To end my grocery trip, I got 2 scoops of their delicious gelato- perfect way to end your Central Market excursion!

I'm sad I was so busy enjoying the food that we forgot to take pics! We are an older foodie bunch, all whom have hosted with private chefs before and this one did not disappoint any of us! I asked for unique items (i.e. something I don't usually have or can cook myself) and Chef Nic sent me suggestions to choose from. We ended up with a 5-course meal which was way too much food, so afterwards we asked, "What course would we have skipped?" and couldn't decide! Chef brought most of the food prepared enough for ease of cooking and serving, and brought it all out in surprisingly even serving times. The chef immaculately clean-up my kitchen and even started the dishwasher. We highly recommend Chef Nic and Gather & Forge.

Freda's Kitchen - Iron Chef Review…read more We engaged Ashley and her team to create an Iron Chef style event for our family of fifteen ages 5-84 over the holidays. They did an absolutely incredible job! Ashley made sure every detail was taken care of and coordinated the entire event flawlessly. Ashley's team members (Kyle, Kristin, Holly and Chef Uyen Pham) were all exceptionally professional and they ensured it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Although the final results are still under protest (just kidding). We highly recommend Freda's Kitchen for anyone looking for something different whether it be a team building or in our case a family event. We also held it at Wilson's Appliance in Dripping Springs who were gracious in allowing to use their top of line equipment in their model kitchens.

The space where we ate was gorgeous and felt like we were dining in someone's beautiful home. Half our group was running late (30 minutes!) due to the marathon closing off some roads, and they still gave us our full experience. FYI, it is BYO here! If we had known earlier, we would have brought our own additional drinks, but they did serve us wine. The kitchen was a little cramped for 14 of us, and compared to other cooking classes I've done, it was a little ad-hoc getting everyone organized. They didn't have a pre-set number of people for each station, and with only 2 staff, they were stretched a little thin helping everyone. It all worked out, but it was a little slow figuring out who would do what, with rough last minute estimates on how many people were needed at each spot. Still, our food was great, we all learned some new kitchen skills (though the chef did help us quite a bit to get us there!), and we had a fun time! There were tons of leftovers too.

Since we were going to be in Austin a specific weekend, we didn't have much of a choice on what class to take. The only class available was Thai Vegetarians. All the girls ended up liking the food. We made Hot and Sour Soup, Bean Thread Salad w/ tofu and mushroom, Pad Prik King w/ tofu and red curry paste, and Pad Sea Ew w/ tofu and eggs. I thought they tasted as good as the dishes with meat. There were a total of 11 people in the class. Jam was feeling under the weather, but you wouldn't have known it. We all stood around an island while Jam explained the dish and the ingredients while guiding us on what to do next. The island was split up in three burners so there were 3-4 people making a serving of each dish. It was interactive and we all were able to contribute. She gave us a hard copy of the recipes at the beginning of class, and you can chose to follow them/take notes. There were a lot of leftovers and some brought them to go. It was a little warm inside. They needed to crank up the temperature just a wee bit. They also ran out of Thai tea. We ordered 5 but they only had enough to make 1. I do agree with the other reviewers about the cost of the class. I wouldn't have paid the full price for this type of class and am glad we purchased a Groupon. Overall, we had a great time. We left there full and more knowledgeable about Thai cooking.
