Craft!! Picture

Spread the news, call your friend who loves to create and BRING THEM HERE. This place is genius and wayyy to fun. The gist: It's an adult craft studio with all you can use supplies of all sorts. A dream for any creator. Only $5 to use any and all supplies + donate some to keep this place in business!! Food / Drink: Byob and snack! Food and drinks are allowed in the studio so bring friends and a bottle of wine, maybe some goldfish or your munch of choice and craft and chat for hours! They have water and tea if you ask (: Ellie / Clean-Up: Ellie runs this place and she rocks. She will give you the full tour and provide you with so much inspiration you won't know what to do with it. She also cleans up which makes this place even better knowing you can make a mess and the magic Ellie fairy will clean for you. Classes: Check the website to sign up for the various classes offered in all sorts of areas. I haven't done one yet, but I am sure they are great!! Reservations: Only make a reservation for large groups ( maybe 4+?) otherwise you can walk in and find a spot.

My friend and I took Eli's screenprinting class at CRAFT and it was so fun. The space is big and filled with all sorts of tools and materials. The class was super informative and had ample time for going through the whole screenprinting process. We got to go home with so many goodies! I definitely recommend doing the workshop or visiting the space! Eli is a gem of a human and an instant friend! They are so generous with their knowledge and really just wanted us to explore, learn, and take advantage of the space. I wish we lived in Austin just so we could hang out here with Eli every day!

The place that I kept wishing existed does exist, but not where I live. CRAFT was a lot of fun to explore and make a mess in! I hope to visit again sometime!! Please stay put unless you're coming to DFW. Lol I'm happy that you exist and will miss you until the next time.

There is nothing more fun than diving into an arts and crafts project...and nothing worse than cleaning up after. That's why I was so impressed by Craft. They have everything you could possibly want for all types of projects, and they'll handle the mess once you're done. It's a great space to experiment, to learn, and to have fun with friends.

Addicted to this place. Imagine being able to use whatever you want from a craft store for one price... yes! That is exactly what you find at CRAFT. For $10 an hour, you can use every single thing in the studio - puffy paint, fabric, yarn, stamps, ink, glitter, fancy papers, stencils, glue gun and everything you can think of. You can bring your own projects from home and work on them there, or just start something new. I'm a huge fan of CRAFT.

Visited here from California for a relaxing time with my bridesmaids. I know as a bride I shouldn't really be planning my own bachelorette BUT, when I saw this I knew in my heart it was meant to be. Like seriously whether you're good at crafts or not, you'll end up in here so focused on what you're making and you'll truly enjoy yourself. When I first walked in, it felt like home lol. Eli shouted from a Corner and asked my group if anyone wanted coffee (yes for free). Had no clue at first shE was talking to us. She then gave us a tour of the whole place and even taught us how to emboss :O we were all shook We were able to use pretty much everything we saw. If I lived near Austin, I would've taken advantage of of the wood and fabric pieces, sadly I flew in Spirit Airlines and can't carry anything with me. I decorated my bride a sash, made a leaf crown, flower glasses, and made shrink-a-dinks of my puppy Overall, half of my group aren't that artsy, but they alL loved it. We planned an hour, but stayed 2.5. At the end of it, Eli came to chat with us a bit and even took pictures of our experience for us. Honestly can't wait to go back.

Love, love, love! Free-form crafting fun! This place is airy and spacious and chock full o' goodies to get the creative juices flowin'. From paints to fabrics to stamps to maps to obscure knick knacks, this place has it all. Went in with my co-workers on a Friday afternoon for some staff bonding and relaxation and we weren't disappointed. So many options to create a lil' something, and normally $10/hour. Since were part of a non-profit group, they graciously gave us a discount on our crafting time! Thank you, Craft! We'll be back!

This place is super Austiny awesome. You basically just walk in and create any art project you can think of. Picture an explosion of hot glue guns, ink stamps, colorful pens, and all things sparkly. Pay by the hour, use as much as you want, and the best part is that you don't have to clean up after yourself! I had the pleasure of working with Colin during my visit and he is truly fantastic - friendly, funny, helpful, artistic. I had exactly zero project ideas so we browsed Pinterest together and decided to make a card and then make some crayon art on a canvas. I had a blast just chatting and gluing junk together for an hour, I found it extremely cathartic. It's one of those places that really is good for all ages and personalities. Colin even told me that they just hosted a bachelor party who came in to paint a nude model - that's some next level brotime right there. It's a perfect place to paint, glue, cut, create, and well... Screen printing

What a unique, cool spot! My friend that lives out of town actually found this place on the internet somewhere when she was planning activities for my bachelorette party. We ended up having CRAFT for our own private event. There was 12 of us at the Craft house and it was the perfect size. It is BYOB if you would like to bring your own beverages. My friends had actually put together some snacks and wine for the event. We ended up doing a screen printing class as a group. I really did not know what to expect. So Eli is the owner of CRAFT and hosted our group. She started out by introducing herself and her awesome business. Then she moved on to talking about screen printing. Now I can be crafty if I need to, but I had never actually screen printed like this. My vision of a screen print was when you go to the beach and pick a print from the wall and have it put on a tshirt. This was NOT what we were doing. We were encouraged to come up with our own designs and then there is a process of using an exacto knife. Then there is a frame with a screen and paint ... I mean I could go on and on or you could come experience Eli show you how to do it! She is definitely the expert. Eli was very understanding and encouraging to peoples levels of artistry. She was willing to help you understand the concepts of what we were trying to achieve and carry through. She was a great teacher. She was clear with her delivery and instructions. If you messed up it was not a big deal and she made you feel good about it, your individuality and the art you had created. Eli's little shop is really cool and she has pretty much everything you could possibly imagine to do anything crafty. When she does not have a private event, she charges $10 an hour for you to come in and craft away. You get to use all their supplies and go where ever your creativity may take you! I have bought craft supplies before and this is a great deal in my opinion! This ended up being the perfect little spot to start my bachelorette festivities. I highly recommend checking CRAFT out and finding your inner artist or crafty mccrafterson that is just waiting to explode out!

Ask the Community - CRAFT

Is there equipment to make homemade paper?

I have just discovered this place in search for activities to do with my bridesmaids in Austin. For a group of 7, would there be enough space for us to sit with one another?…

Yes! We have big tables that seat up to 10 people, but it would be helpful to have a reservation! You can text us at 5129009957 when you know when you might come in. We recommend at least an hour and a half, but you could try for an hour!

Can you purchase a gift certificate for a class? Sewing is the particular class I have in mind for someone?

Yes! There's a link for gift certificates in the top right corner of our site. Gift certificates can be applied to any class or walk-in crafting. The sewing class is $60 and everything is included. madeatcraft.com

Do you guys have any ceramics stuff?

We're taking a break from ceramics workshops for the summer, but they'll be back on the calendar in the fall. In the meantime, we do have air dry clay in the studio. Air dry clay (also known as paper clay) can be really great to work with; you get a…

Several of the reviews mention kids birthday parties, but when I go to the website it says no kids. My daughter who is 10 loves to make things, and I would love to bring her with.... is it only kids during private events?

Hi, Rachel. I apologize for the confusion. We did host a few kids parties years ago, at our former location. Now we recommend checking out these other places that are great for kids.…

I noticed that they carried a local brand that I loved, "Ornamental Things." The Paper Work employee who was greeting us must have noticed that their section for this brand immediately caught my eye as I darted over there stating "this is the brand of that necklace that I lost!" I just moved recently and lost some jewelry in the process, including one of my absolute favorite pieces, the "Heart Wave" necklace by Ornamental Things. I was searching over there to see if they carried the exact piece that I was missing, but sadly they didn't. The Paper Work Employee (I am still disappointed I did not catch her name) approached me and asked which exact piece was I looking for? Stating that she could reach out to the owner of Ornamental Things to see if they had more of that piece in their stock. Sure enough the employee snapped a photo I had of myself wearing the necklace and sent it off to the owner, she was able to locate one (Thank goodness!) and I was able to purchase it! It is on its way being shipped to my home. I am so thankful for the Paper Work employee who went above and beyond to not only make my experience amazing but provide one of a kind service and replace something truly special to me. Thank you!
