It was such an enjoyable experience I can't wait for my next round of classes to start. As a bonus, I was the only student in the class, which I suppose could have improved my overall impression given the 1:1 attention, but I don't think so. I would have given five stars regardless. Everyone that works at The Jewelers Saw is so friendly and welcoming, you almost feel like you are part of an extended family the moment you enter their space. I've been in other studios where the air wasn't as warm and I didn't quite feel like I belonged there. I think Jason and Gina play a huge role in making the environment open and inviting and I would definitely encourage anyone who has been considering taking a class in jewelry making to just dive in and take a class. Start with something short and sweet, like a simple ring or earring making class. It's addicting once you start and see how things are made. You'll want to learn more!! This studio is top notch and fully equipped with every tool a jeweler or lapidarist could possibly need to work their trade. There's limited parking, about 8 spots on the property. It's beautifully situated and the set up is so nice. They provide aprons, overalls and slide shoes if you don't want to get your clothes dirty. Today's group was super small just me and 3 others! We learned to use the wheel, the process that happens afterwards and then you practice detachment by leaving your piece and choosing 1-2 others to take home! It honestly takes time to glaze and finalize the pieces which is why you do not take yours home. I found the cutest pieces!! Katie was a lovely and patient instructor! I'll definitely be back!

A few weeks later I emailed them saying I would be in Austin. They arranged a time to pick it up, but then the owner replied saying my work was thrown away. Because I hadn't responded promptly to their email to let them know whether to ship or to hold the work.
