Nice selection of plants with a very friendly salesperson. We ended up getting a watering tool that has been very useful!

Went in looking at plants. Saw way too many gnats and bugs in plants to take any of them home with me. If you get from here, watch out!

Whatever you do, don't sit on the white chairs in front. You'll be shooed away like a homeless person. Very unfriendly.

Beautiful, delicate interior design,…read morea sweet patio where you can relax with a coffee and a pastry, the whole vibe is calm and cozy, which I appreciated so much. Now, the real star: the gluten-free baked goods. We tried four different things, cookies included, and honestly? I was stunned. The flavor, the softness, the balance, nothing felt like a "gluten-free compromise." It tasted like the real deal, maybe even better. Not overly sweet, not dry, not crumbly, just genuinely delicious pastries that happen to be gluten-free. I don't know what magic they're working in that kitchen, but this is easily the best gluten-free bakery I've come across. A must-visit, no question.

Every piece in the store appears to be intentionally curated. Maaribu melds a home and gift shop with an in house café and bakery, creating an experience that's both relaxing and memorable. According to Mable, my server, Maaribu is a combination of the word Marfa (Texas town that has the Prada store) and Malibu. The brand is often described as combining Marfa's creative spirit, Malibu's laid back lifestyle, and clean Scandinavian design. The shop portion of Maaribu is beautifully styled, featuring furniture, décor, books, and gifts that have a modern flare. All the items are easy to peruse and get drawn in. The use of color is playful and engaging. Maaribu's key highlight is its café and bakery. The in house café has an assortment of coffee, wellness beverages, and dedicated gluten free baked goods. I bought a Rose honey latte, which was divine along with a multi-layer pastry. Mable said customers enjoy the quality and flavor of the pastries...scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, and egg bites are frequent favorites. Importantly, the café is reported to be fully gluten free, which makes it a standout destination for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, without sacrificing taste or variety. The outdoor seating and patio area add to the charm, making Maaribu a great place to enjoy coffee and pastries on a nice Austin morning. After years in Austin, I finally discovered Maaribu--a modern, eclectic coffee shop and store. Every item is thoughtfully curated, blending a home-and-gift shop with a café and bakery for a relaxing experience. The name combines Marfa's creative vibe, Malibu's laid-back style, and Scandinavian design. The shop offers stylish furniture, décor, books, and gifts, all easy to browse and visually engaging. Maaribu's café is fully gluten-free, featuring quality pastries like scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, and egg bites, as well as wellness drinks and coffee. Outdoor seating makes it a perfect spot to enjoy coffee and pastries on a pleasant Austin morning. Wow...Maaribu!!!

We found some amazing ceramic ware for a friend's housewarming, and I ended up purchasing one of their gorgeous raw silk shirts for myself. The independent brands are among the list of coveted in this shop. Bri, the owner and founder of the Good Hippie line of body products, is often there hanging out with an approachable smile and a warm passion for the artists she supports in her shop. No pretension here, and everything is well-priced. To boot, she shares the space with long-time treasure of the Austin jewelry scene, Christine Fail, who showcases her line of minimal jewelry in addition to other artist-produced goods. This shop is a MUST-SEE on the east side and is sure to gain a huge following very soon!
