love this vintage shop!!! i came out with some goodies like a working VCR tv (have been hunting for ages!). was tempted on a lot of other goodies in the shop. the restroom is so cute, entirely bunny themed (my favorite animal!). overall definitely worth the visit but come early as the parking lot is small and fills very quickly.
Lots of cool old stuff, just too pricy to buy any of it. They have parking just for the store in front of the store and lots of parking around.
Very busy at the time and very crowded inside so it's hard to walk around without running into something or someone. Please be very careful not to bring too many big bags because you might just bump into something. Customer service is helpful if you need some assistance, little dusty and the smell is in the air
While visiting another store I was given a pamphlet on all the local antique stores so we decided to check this one out. They have a lot of curated items here. Everything is ecclectic and in good shape. I enjoyed walking through the store and looking at everything. They even have a fabric section. The price was a little high but it's vintage so it's to be expected. If anything you can take some nice photos here. Parking is a bit hard but doable if you go early.
I drove down to Austin for the weekend to catch Tyler, The Creator in concert, and I swung by Room Service Vintage as a fun side mission. The shop has a cool vibe with neat vintage finds that don't break the bank. It's a nice little spot if you're into unique decor and retro style. Definitely worth checking out if you're nearby!
My go to for vintage furniture! I'm in the process of re doing my living space and this place has been a life saver in bringing my vision to life! Worth a browse even if you don't NEED anything specifically, you'll probably find something regardless. Prices are extremely fair and staff is super helpful
This vintage store was recommended by a staff at Pavement Thrift store when I asked the cashier for cool places to visit since we were from another State. I'm so happy we shopped here. We actually spent and bought many items then returned with my older daughter who purchased more unique items for her home. I enjoyed the cool vibe at this store. They have something for everyone! Don't forget to use their bathroom which is rabbit themed, it brought a smile to my face! I highly recommended shopping here! A+ I can't wait to return again on my next trip to Austin.
This is a very cool store. Tons of Knick knacks to go through and look around for fun, but that's really it. I couldn't think of a single thing I could by that didnt remind me of an old person home and wouldn't really have a place. Felt more like a museum than actual good/unique decor for your home. Everything is super dusty and you can tell it's been here forever, so I'm wondering who actually buys stuff here? Still a very fun experience but overall don't think it's for me. Definitely more affordable than a lot of other vintage places I will say.
I love thrift stores and when my friend offered to take us to one of the best thrift shops in Austin I was stoked to check it out! We came to this place on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed with people. Before going inside there was a rack of t-shirts and once you got inside the store there was an overwhelming amount of things (including an adorable little dog that was playing behind the counter and stealing the hearts of every single person walking by). This store had absolutely everything from toys, jewelry, men's clothes, shoes, and chairs to women's jewelry, cowboy boots, records, and all the random knick knacks you could possibly need to decorate a living room. This store was fantastic and even though i didn't pick anything up on this particular trip, I did fall in live with the store and the dog. If you come to Austin or live here already, check this amazing store out!
Bought some sweet brooches here. Wished I made it to Austin more often! I'll definitely be checking out the cluster of shops in this area. There were a lot of interesting things that were surprisingly well curated given my first impression, which was that it was an unorganized mass of things. It's actually pretty well organized. There was a good "deal of the day" when I came in. Saved me more than $12 on my purchases. Nice! Don't forget to go to the bathroom. Oh! And don't touch those old Playboys. Gross. Who wants a jizz covered old nudie mag?! Yarf. Might as well sell used underwear too; except the underwear can be washed. Anyway. Great shop.
This is my favorite vintage store to stop by on weekend walks through the North Loop neighborhood. I always find something interesting here as there are allot of kitschy items from the 70s and 80s. It's like a time warp. You'll also find classic issues of magazines, cards, and lots of cool retro furniture pieces and trinkets to enrich your space. My partner even found some cool button down shirts here.
For those who seem to be monitoring when and how often I post reviews...please note that I'm still working through a pile of drafts that I have. I post at my own pace. K, thanks. Anyway, I love Room Service and have been coming here for years. Long before I relocated to Austin from the East Coast. It's part of my North Loop Jaunt where I hit up all my fave places in the neighborhood every few months or so. Prior to relocating, I'd visit Austin twice a year and always made time to stop in. This is one of the most inspiring and well laid out vintage stores ever. You can just get lost for hours. So many ideas for home decor and styling. They've always got a grand selection of MCM (Mid-Century Modern) furniture and accessories. My house is 99% MCM. They've really just got the best collection of everything. Trinkets, knickknacks, patches, light fixtures, dishes, mirrors, art, clothing, records, jewelry...you get my drift. Service is so super friendly and welcoming. I am particularly fond of the pro-trans sign in the entrance window!! Everything they carry is in very good to pristine condition and pricing is reflective. With that said, the prices are extremely fair. I can't recommend Room Service enough. Support local. Support small business. Sustainability. Be creative. read more

4 stars As someone who loves thrifting and old stuff, I'd driven past Room Service Vintage countless times and finally decided to stop in. I had a feeling it probably wasn't going to be my kind of shop, and I turned out to be right--but that's not a knock on the store. This is a really cool place filled with things you won't find just anywhere. If you're looking for unique vintage, antique, mid-century modern, or just plain unusual pieces, you'll probably have a great time browsing. Just don't go expecting thrift store prices. Everything is priced much closer to full market value, so this is more of a vintage boutique than a thrift store. I originally stopped in because I'd seen photos online of some beautiful vintage glassware and hoped to find something to add to my collection. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything I was looking for, and what did catch my eye was more than I was willing to spend. I left empty-handed, and it's probably not a store I'll visit again simply because I'm more of a bargain hunter. But if you're looking for distinctive vintage pieces and don't mind paying market prices, Room Service Vintage is definitely worth a visit. read more

This store is such a hidden gem! My eyes lit up when I stepped inside. I loved everything they had and found the cutest piece of art for an extremely reasonable price. I can't wait to go back! read more

Great variety here, good 80s jams playing! They have more home goods compared to vintage attire but their vintage clothing isn't diluted like any other vintage shop. I will say, the two employees at the front were very cold and the way they spoke to me is making me reconsider returning. I understand if someone is having a rough day but it was disappointing! read more

Part of me wants to keep Room Service a secret bc their vintage finds, especially random housewares like paintings and couches, are so incredible. Then the part of me that recognizes people live when they feel the magic of vintage in their homes wakes up and stops being selfish. Also, people that are moving here playing detective might not do anything but good for the world and their lives will be richer with color and carefull detail. One star missing bc the clothes aren't as perfect -always too Small, wrong in some way, borderline scary bc you felt like they were not comfortable, if you tried anything, and I usually can wear anything!! read more

If you're visiting Austin and love combing through vintage goods, definitely stop by Room Service! It's probably the best shop of its kind in the city, with fair price points and a nice variety of time periods for home decor, accessories, and some clothing. Boots, dolls, framed pictures, sundresses, dishwater...It's all here in a roomy shop with a few other vintage shops in this cute pocket of North Austin. read more

Loved this place! It's been around in Austin since 1981 so they have a good idea of what sales and what doesn't. A really fun place to explore with so many different types of things for people with many different tastes. I got a set of vintage glasses and my friend also got a few cute things for around the house. They were so friendly and fun in there. Will tell friends and shop there again! read more
The other day roomie, J (Frank's owner) and I were out and about. They needed a new outfit for the evening (country club theme pub crawl) and I was along for the ride to be their tour guide into another world they've never been cool enough to be apart of. They suggested Goodwill, and I had to interject that while Goodwill can be great, there are much better thrift/consignment/real vintage stores within a mile of our house. In fact, I call all the vintage stores on N. Loop the Vintage Strip. There are about 5 or 6 all in this strip tucked in between The Parlor, Phara's etc etc. Now J who is a completely naive guy had never set foot into a vintage store. Upon entering he immediately said "Ewh whats that smell?" And that comment continuted as we went on our vintage shop crawl. That is the smell my friend, of glorious saved/abandoned/restored vintage bliss. I find this little vintage shop to be the best of all the ones I've been to. While others in the area specilize in finding ridiculously, in good shape pieces of clothing, this place has it ALL. What we marveled at mostly was all the affordable priced furniture. And knickknacks. Ooooh the knickknacks rock! So many little random things that can really take you back to another decade you either lived in or had the pleasure of living in. I just kept thinking I love lamp. So many cool, swanky lamps I wanted to take home with me yet have nowhere to put them. You could seriously furnish/decorate your whole house with this store. Sometimes I walk over here (leave the wallet at home) and just look through all the "new" things that come in. Vintage shopping can entertain you for hours upon hours if you allow it. And although the guys found their silly outfits some place else (somewhere I am the duchess of) they loved this store. Yes its true, even men like to shop/try on clothes. read more
I love a good vintage store - LOVE IT - oh yes I do! This place is a find for sure! I mean pretty much anything you could possibly think you might need they got it here! Old toys, glasswares, clothes, furniture, shoes, art and cool owl lamps ... yes they do have it all. I am definitely a fan of Room Service. If you are in the need for anything really and looking for something slightly used, antique, thrifty or vintage I would peruse this store first. It is a pretty big store so be sure to make it all the way through it. I liked that a lot things seemed to be color coded too! I will be back when I am on my next hunt for treasure! read more

I have found the vintage store of vintage stores. I believe after much discussion, my boyfriend and I will be furnishing the rest of our home from RoomService. The furniture is super cute and very affordable! Unlike some other vintage stores I've found myself in over the years, their furniture, clothing, lighting, YOU NAME IT, is all in fantastic shape! The store is laid out, so though while you have that awesome feeling like you're on an endless treasure hunt, drowning in 1940s Pyrex-y- retro clothing- antique camera- greatness, it's organized so beautifully that it doesn't feel like a clusterf*** of piles of used crap. I've been back three times since my first visit just four days ago. I'm in heaven(and not in debt)! read more
